xkcd is a command-line interface to xkcd.com.
View, download and enjoy comics straight from the comfortable shell.
The mouse-over text is displayed when the image-viewing application exits for maximum amusement.
Called with zero arguments, the latest xkcd comic is displayed.
The -c flag takes an (preferably valid) integer that corresponds to that particular xkcd comic number. The -a flag only displays the mouse-over text, while the -d flag downloads the comic to location.

Not sure if a daemon is necessary though, xkcd has long updated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
edit: it would be nice if you could pass an option to get a random comic.
xkcd -r
for example. If it helps the URL for a random comic is http://dynamic.xkcd.com/random/comic/

For voice memos, I have include voice memos when syncing selected under the Music tab for my iPhone sync preferences with iTunes which transfers voice memos from my iPhone to my iTunes library when syncing.

'App' is damaged and cannot be opened. Delete 'app' and download it again from the App Store

I was trying to download some apps on my MBP. I tried downloading three different apps . All of them completed downloading successfully but when I tried to open them they failed and I recieved a popup saying that ' The '**** app ' is damaged and can't be opened. Delete the '**** app' and try downloading again from the Mac App store.' . I believe this has nothing to do with gatekeeper ( I've set it to 'anywhere' anyway).

Install the v10.8.3 combo > OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.3 (Combo)
Then restart your Mac and try opening the apps.

I have been trying to download the new updates for Aperture , Safari, and Iphoto. I click update and it gets the download bar but it doesnt get passed 0 KB when downloading the apps. Previously I had gotten the NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.)(102) but that stopped. Why is it doing this?

i am a new user of ipod. I seem to have trouble, after i get into the Music store, locating the different music selections. I am particularly interested in all jazz music.

After connecting to the iTunes Store look at the upper right corner of iTunes. See the text box? It says 'Search iTunes Store'. Try typing 'Jazz' there. Or, over on the left side of the window there's a box labeled 'iTunes Store' with a list of items available at the store. Click on music. Then below the box there's another with music genre. Look for Jazz on the list.

To remove Audiobooks depending on the type of Audiobook ie a series of mp3 files you will find under music and probably have to deselect the album name to remove it. I don't have any of these as I download from Audible or I use Audiobook Builder to stictch together mp3 files into m4b files. To find these Click on Books you will immediately see a section for books (in reality ebooks). Scroll down past that and you will see Audiobooks where you can select and deselect. Deselect the required Audiobooks and Click Sync

Launching Microsoft Access from Internet Explorer to view a downloaded MDB file opens the wrong file (not a problem if I use Firefox)

When clicking on a link (in Internet Explorer 9) to download an Access MDB file and then choosing to open the file directly in Microsoft Access (2007) instead of saving it, the file is copied to Temporary Internet Files but Microsoft Access tries to open
a different file and displays an (Unrecognized database format) error.
When I click on the option to open the file, the MDB file is copied to Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 but instead of that file, Access tries to open a different (incorrect) file located in Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO (e.g. in the above error
message, NativeView.do is an XML file containing an error message).
I don't see this problem with Word, Excel or PowerPoint files. When opening a Word file (without saving) the Word file is copied to Content.IE5 but an identical .tmp file is created in Content.MSO which when opened in Microsoft Word displayed the required file
correctly. The same happens for Excel files. PowerPoint appears to be handled a little differently (no .tmp file created in Content.MSO but the required file is still copied to Content.IE5) but the PPT file is still opened correctly in Microsoft PowerPoint.
I think the Content-Type "application/msaccess" is fine because Internet Explorer does launch Microsoft Access. It just tries to open the wrong file (or so I think). However, it looks like the file type is not being determined. Here is what I noticed
when trying to open different Microsoft Office files using Internet Explorer:
The last one is the MDB file. As you can see, only for this type of file, the "Type" (Microsoft Office Access 2007?) is not displayed in this Open/Save dialog box.
On Firefox, I don't see this problem. When I tried clicking on the link to the MDB file in Firefox, Microsoft Access was launched and the file was opened correctly. Is there something I can do so the MDB file is opened properly using IE? I can add/change headers
in the HTTP response that writes this file to the output stream (on disk) if that helps.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
