XL Reporter security settings Excel 2007: com add-in Load Behavior: unloade

I have followed all the posts regarding the security settings in MS Excel (I'm using 2007), and I still get the error. I believe the problem relates to the com add-in. I have the add-in "available" but always unchecked. When I check it, I see the behavior as "unloaded". close the com add-in window and still get the error. Each time I return to the com add-in area the SAP Business One XL Reporter add-in is unchecked again.
Has anyone discovered this behavior?

I discovered a solution. Apparently, Excel had disabled the add-in in a prior attempt to start the add-in. I found out how to reenable the add-in at this microsoft note:

XL Reporter-Security settings in Microsoft Excel prohibit XL Reporter from running.
I have made the following chnages
1. Start Microsoft Excel.
2. In the Tools menu, choose Macro->Security...
This opens the Security window.
3. Choose the Trusted Sources tab and make sure the Trust all installed add-ins and templates and Trust access to Visual Basic Project checkboxes are selected
I am still getting the same error.

In ref. SBO System that you are loggged on to, do you have admistration rights on the local computer.
Are you trying to open the XL reporter for the first time ?
Which version of SBO you are working on?

Oracle Reports Security Settings???

I am attempting to display Oracle Reports that are on a report server on a portal.
I look here and it tells me to set up the report server info on the portal...which makes sense...

I'm trying to make following work (with no success for now).
Issue
> Excel crashed when It loads the ESSBase’s (xla or xll) add-in.
For the purpose of my tests, I’m handling the app-v packages using the powershell commandlets
(no SCCM / no App-V Infrastructure)
Environment
On top of a Win 2012 r2 remote desktop session host server, I :
- installed App-V 5.0 SP2 client for RDS
- (added/published globally) Excel as a packaged app-v app
- (added/published globally) ESSBase as a packaged app-v app
- (added/Enabled it Globally) a Connection Group (witch includes both the above appv packages)

Upgrade to App-V SP3
- upgrade of the App-V Client for RDS from version 5.0 SP2 to 5.0 SP3 (RDS VM)
- uninstall of the App-V 5.0 SP2 sequencer and install of the App-V 5.0 sequencer SP3
(App-V Sequencer VM)
Sequencing
- Install/Sequencing of Excel 2007 as a 1st distinct App-V Package
- Install/Sequencing of Oracle ESSBase Excel Add-In as a 2nd distinct App-V Package
> I chose type: Add-On or Plugin (second option)
      *this time I forced Oracle Add-In to install under C:\Prog~files (x86)\Oracle
          and no more under

- *at the end of the add-In package’s sequencing phase I ensured to have

Report Painter/Writer: Excel 2007 Integration

Hi All,
I'm facing an issue with some reports I've prepared in Report Painter that are intergrated with Microsoft Excel. When I create a Report with more than 256 columns and execute it with Excel Integration it's giving an error: Run-time error '1004' .
When I debugged Visual Basic, it seems that the standard number of columns of Microsoft Excel is less than the number I required, this was OK for Microsoft Office 2003 version. However, with Microsoft Excel 2007 the number of available columns has increased to 16384. Hence it should work, but it's not!
Has anyone face this problem? Is this a suitable bug to report to SAP? Any idea or suggestions on how to deal with this?

XLR - 'Security settings in Microsoft Excel prohibit XL Reporter to run'

Dear All,
Our customer is on SAP2007 and EXCEL 2007. When I import a XLR and run it, I got the error message in the short text. SAP notes 853821 and 924561 are for EXCEL 2003. Can anybody let me know what setting I should check for EXCEL 2007? Thanks a lot.

Hi friend. Do you any experience before about the file generated by xl reporter cannot to view correctly in excel version 2007 in some workstation?
I have a client cannot view the result file generate by XL reporter in excel version 2007. Strange..It is working fine on other workstation with version 2007. However, a few person who carried laptop cannot view the excel file.
I tried to copy the file & view into my excel 2007. It is working fine. Also i check the version for other 2007 workstation which is working, marco setting, operation system Service pack. All is same.
The report view showing something like this #NAME#NAME#NAME where cannot see the value inside. However when i view the same file my other PC who used version 2007 as well it is fine.
Any other idea about compatible or version for excel 2007?

Com Add-In problem for XL Reporter

Dear All,
I am facing problem in running the XL reports from the TS server. The COM ADD-IN proble m throws up. I have followed the steps written in the SAP note and also tried to follow to add the XL reporter dll file from the Com Add-In option in excel. When try to add the XL reporter dll, it is not getting added means when i choose the file it is not getting checked
Can anyone help me in this regards.

i have XL Report and Office 2010. i am getting an error when i want to refresh the data in exce.
I've done the "ComAddIn_per_User_RegKey" and i am still getting the error.
Works fine with Office 2003 (another laptop)... this is the message that i am getting

Excel 2007 starts ie always, not my default browser firefox 3.6.1.2

Regardless of my default browser settings, excel 2007 always opens links in IE. This is extremely annoying especially when I am trying to debug an application.
Note this is because Firefox is not opening not about when it opens. So far, excel is the only application where I've noticed this.

Check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page. 
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website.
Filter: general.useragent
If any general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then right-click that pref and choose Reset.

XLReporter Com Add-in not loading

I have a problem with the XLReporter and am having a problem getting pointed in the right direction. Here is what is going on. We have the B1 client installed on our Terminal server to make it easy to demo. When someone needs to demo B1 from outside the office they use an RDP connection to the Terminal server and start the B1 client. They go to run the XLReporter, generate a report and get the error Com Add-in not loaded. But, when you open Excel and go to the Com Add-in it shows that it is loaded. This was the result even with the administrator logged in. When I log in to this server with my log in I have no problems, the reporter works good. I have been through a complete uninstall and reinstall of the client. I even removed all left over files from the first install to include running the IXXL registery cleaner tool. I did the reinstall under the administrator login. I hope that you can get me pointed to the right place for info on this. The system is B12007A-47 on a Windows 2003 server with SQL2005.

Gordon, I have opened Excel and manually added the IXXLReporter.dll to the Com Add-in while I was logged in as Administrator.It will not start.
Jim, the 2007A B1 client that is installed on the computer auto installs the XLReporter when you install the client. I have uninstalled the client, ran the registry cleaner for XLR and then reinstalled. I did all of this while logged on as the administrator. Still wont work while logged in as administrator. But, when I log on as myself it works

Establishing Security Settings

How do I establish security settings for acrobat.com, such as setting a password to open it? The only .PDF
software I use is acrobat.com.
I used to have Create .PDF online and I could easily establish the settings there.

Thanks for posting. Although the PDF conversion service at Acrobat.com is similar to the old Create PDF service, it isn't identical, and unfortunately it is not possible to apply security settings to a PDF document using Acrobat.com. If, however, you apply security settings to the file with Adobe Acrobat desktop software, Acrobat.com will honor those settings by preventing the document from being previewed; the viewer will have to download the file and open it in Acrobat or Reader, both of which will require the user to adhere to the security restrictions. We hope to add more features to Acrobat.com's PDF functionality, so I encourage you to stay tuned for updates to the service.
