XL Reporter - Toolbar is missing needed for "Generate Report"

Hello - I am going thru the eLearning for XL Reporter.
I have opened a template in XL reporter and I want to "Generate Report", however the toolbar shown in eLearning is not visible.
Any advice? Thanks ahead of time!

The toolbar often stays hidden when opening XL Reporter. An easy way to get it to appear is to resize a column in the spreadsheet. For whatever reason, this always makes it pop up for me.
You could also turn it on in Excel:
View > Toolbars
There should be one for XL Reporter at the bottom
Uncheck it and then recheck it
That will force it to appear as well
I believe your Excel Macro Security has something to do with this issue, but have never nailed it down.

My report consists of one main repeating frame containing about 15 (detail) repeating frames. The main frame starts a new page each time the deposit (master record) changes and resets the physical page number at the top of the page. In the property palate, I have Source set to my deposit number and Maximum Records per Page set to 1 and this results in the start next deposit on a new page.
I can't find any 'BREAK' command that would result in the action I need - and there seems to be nothing in the SRW_package or conditional formatting that might help.
What I was hoping was that there would be a command somewhere that I have missed, that would cause a new report to be written each time the deposit (or master record) changes, rather than one huge report.

If you want to create your own report with required currency,
T CODE - KE35 - Click on "Report" (create), next window appears
Give the name of the report and description
The u see 2 options
1. Basic report
2. Report with Form
Select which ever you want and press ENTER
Here you need to prepare the report format and fields which are there in the right side box

Advice needed for Jasper Reports - Unacceptable File Size

Hi,
we are attempting to use Jasper Reports for online reporting. However, we have found that the filesize for generated reports in HTML formats are simply unacceptable. For example, a Jasper Report of 5000 records is 20MB in size! The download of such files simply takes too long. The reason we believe is due to the image rendering for 'white spaces'. Would greatly appreciate any advice on how to eradicate this problem.

Ard claims no permission for generating reports...

I tried to do a remote install this morning for the first time this morning...
Ard started the process but the status was 'waiting for file' forever...
I tried copying a file to the computer and it claimed that no one was logged into the console
(but the computer was next to me and I was logged in! )
In frustration I trashed the prefs file and started from scratch... I readded several machines
but when I tried to do the install a package or copy a file I was getting the same errors
I tried to copy to another machine and it worked! ( so did the install )
In desperation I logged out and back in on the target machine and everything seems
back to normal ;(
The main remaining problem is that I can no longer generate reports, the target machine
reports that I am not authorrized in the task report line.
What do I need to do to generate reports? ie get authorized

Is the ARD client up to date on the remote computer? In the Sharing Pane of the System Preferences, have you enabled Remote Management? If Yes, have you enabled to correct users in the "Allow Access" Section? If yes, have you Enabled the correct features in the Options section?

T codes for generating report in MM

Can anyone tell me the tcodes for generating following reports in MM.
1)Req# along with the dollar amount in the req per line item.
2) the repot which shows the dollar value in the Info record & the dollar value in the req.

Enter Tcode SAP1 and check in MM you will get all tcodes related to reports in MM .. check if any of those match ur requirement

Need for generating Leads???

Hi Experts,
With the help of acquired list or campaign execution any many more. ...we are generating leads and later we qualify them and create follow-up to make them as opportunity and hence sales cycle starts..
But I want to know if at all we have to create the opportunity what the need of generating leads???
Is is mandatory to create leads then only we can create opportunity. OR can say what is the significance of generating leads and storing them in data base???
How can I convince or make customer understandable while going for DEMO of Marketing system...

From where you are getting the leads?
If the leads are getting from external list management. and the leads are rented , then the rejects leads which are created as business partners will be deleted by the system automatically .
we have an option of selecting whether leads are rented oo bought while generating the business partners for external source in ELM.
If the leads are getting from external list management. and the leads are bought by cleint, then we acan decide whether the rejected leads should be deleted or used for other campaigns.

Oracle 10g Discoverer Reports & export to xls fails for large reports

Hi ,
We have following configurations:
1: RHEL 5.4
2: Discoverer :Version 10.1.2.48.18
3: Oracle10g Apps Version : Version 10.1.2.0.2
Issue:
Most of small reports works fine ....but when large discoverer reports are executed the page
keeps on refreshing for 15-20 hours but no output ....same for export to xls ......
But same reports works fine in oracle9i for same data voulme....
Observations:
When on linux with top command the processes are monitored its observed that discoverer process
dis51ws dies for large reports after 1-2 minutes ...& the page keeps on refreshing but no output....
for 1-2 minutes it consumes 50-80% cpu utilisation then process disappears & cpu 80% idle ...
It seems that as 10g Apps is installed on RHEL 5.4 ...non certfified OS causing an issue...
Can any one adds more inputs in this regards......

as per Note: 466697.1 ....its an memory error....& need to increase MaxVirtualDiskMem and MaxVirtualHeapMem
But we already have slowly increased MaxVirtualDiskMem and MaxVirtualHeapMem to below very high values ...but the issue remains same.......
as per note we are getting Logkeys: exceptions discoiv.servlet_exceptions error but
after that we are not getting below error ............
Unexpected error in state machine: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
Hence I presume that its different issue rather than memmory....
Below are pref.txt values..........

Also we have raised an SR & as per SR .............all below settings are tried as per SR except for applying a recent patch....

Discoverer performance is largely determined by how well the database
has been designed and tuned for queries.
A well-designed database will perform significantly better than a poorly
designed database.
Workbook design can also affect query performance.
1. Apply latest Discoverer patch as documented in <<Note:237607.1>>
'ALERT: Required and Recommended Patch Levels For All Discoverer Version'.
2. Increase the maximum JVM heap memory:
In general, the default values for the minimum heap (-Xms) memory and
maximum heap (-Xmx) memory are sufficient.
However, if your organization consistently runs large Discoverer queries
then you may benefit from increasing the maximum heap memory from the
default values.
This is recomended if your users are typically running large queries via
Discoverer Viewer.
Increasing the JVM memory can help to avoid "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError"
in Discoverer Viewer:

3. Disable Query Prediction:
Query Prediction provides an estimate of the time required to retrieve
the information in a query.
The Query Prediction appears before the query and consumes time.
Edit the <oracle_home>/discoverer/util/pref.txt on the middle-tier
server and set:
QPPEnable=0
Also set:
QPPObtainCostMethod = 0
4. Uncheck the 'Enable fantrap detection' checkbox.
When the box is checked, every query generated by Discoverer is
interrogated. Discoverer will detect a fan trap and rewrite the query to
ensure that the aggregation is done at the correct level.

Resolution - Correct Results
Everytime for more information on fantraps.
To disable, in Plus go to Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Fan Trap
settings.
In Viewer go to Preferences and uncheck the box.
5. Disable Materialized Views/Summaries
In pref.txt add parameter:
MaterializedViewRedirectionBehavior = 0
Value equal to 0 ensures that Materialized View (MV) Redirection is
always performed when MVs are available.
6. Improve query performance by optimizing the SQL.
In pref.txt modify/add following parameters:
SQLFlatten = 0
SQLItemTrim = 0
SQLJoinTrim = 0
UseOptimizerHints = 0
If value of SQLFlatten is 1 then Discoverer will merge inline views in
the query SQL where ever possible.
In case of SQLItemTrim, Discoverer will remove unused folder items from
the query SQL where possible and for SQLJoinTrim Discoverer will remove
unnecessary joins from the query where possible.
UseOptimizerHints will add Optimizer hints to SQL if set >
0.Unnecessarily making Discoverer perform these checks consumes
resources and rather than increasing the performance may reduce the same. So unless you feel these checks have to be performed depending on
requirements, assign zero to these parameters.
7. When Discoverer builds a query, Discoverer makes a database security
check to confirm that the user has access to the tables referenced in
the folders. Avoiding this check can save time.
So in pref.txt underDatabase section add:
ObjectsAlwaysAccessible = 1
8. Whenever you are creating conditions, ensure that you match the Case.
This in turn can reduce the time Discoverer spends on changing the Case
and matching.
For example:
option Upper(Department) in (Upper('VIDEO SALES')
9. Ensure that summaries are refreshed periodically in Discoverer
Administrator.
10. Increase the amount of memory available for the Discoverer data cache. Please refer to <<Note 245752.1>>, Explaining Oracle BI Discoverer
Session Memory Management
And Server Cache Settings.
11. Performance may be enhanced by enabling OracleAS Web Cache.

Crystal reports 2008 SP1 missing in BusinessObjects Crystal Reports website

We have used Crystal reports 2008 as a reporting utility in our application and have released our product last year. During our release the latest software available was Crystal reports 2008 base + SP1 + SP2 + Fix Pack 2.7 and same was mentioned in our documentation as mentioned in BELOW.
The current supported version of Crystal Reports is Crystal Reports 2008 with
Service Pack 2 and Fixpack 2.7. The installation sequence is as follows:
1. Install Crystal Reports 2008 base.
2. Install Crystal Reports 2008 SP1.
3. Install Crystal Reports 2008 SP2.
4. Install Fixpack 2.7. This can be found under the hotfix section on the web site.
Questions
1) Now the issue is that, Crystal reports 2008 SP1 is NOT available for download in the "Business Objects u2013 Crystal Reports Runtime Packages". Why was it removed? Any clue? Without this our instructions doesn't hold good.
2) If Crystal reports 2008 SP1 will NOT be available any more then what is the equivalent installable for "Crystal reports 2008 base + SP1 + SP2 + Fix Pack 2.7" to be used? Can Crystalreports 2008 SP3 Full Build + Fix Pack 3.3 be used instead of "Crystal reports 2008 base + SP1 + SP2 + Fix Pack 2.7" ?
Pls Clarify.
