XLR Question

Hi Experts,
If I create an XLR Report and choose the fields Posting Date (JDT1) and Project Code and run the report, the system only shows me any journal lines which have a valid Project Code.
Any journal lines with no Project Code are ignored.  I would like to see all lines, even if there is no Project Code.
Is this a limitation of XLR or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
Greig

Hi Greig Burrows
you should have valid project codes to make it display in xlr
Thanks

  • XLR query expert question

Here is a little challenge from a user. I am using B1 for Stock control and Stock forecasting. Until now we used a Microsoft Access Query to extract to Stock Consumption Quantity from SAP tables and this query works fine and it creates the Stock Consumtion and forecast report for our company. However, I am trying to achieve the same result by using XLR in SAP and I can get the Stock Quantity from the relevant A/R Invoice table and extract the Quantity value for a particular Stock Item ( say MRH001 = Shampoo )
However, MRH001 is also used as part of other Gift Packs and we use Production Order and Bill of Material, to make up these packs. So the Gift Pack is finally recorded as a new Stock Item called Pack1 which contains MRH001. So our total consumption of Shampoo (MRH001) is made up from sales of MRH001 itself + MRH001 sold as Pack1. So we need a way of finding out the total SALES of MRH001 and so far we could not find a way. Our Business Partner has also tried to come up with an idea but so far we could not crack this one.
To make things more complex, our Pack1 (which contains MRH001) can be included in another pack (say Pack2). So now we have Shampoo sales under 3 different product codes, MRH001, Pack1 and Pack2.
    Any ideas from SAP experts?
    Thanks
    Robert

    Ho Gordon
Thanks for this pointer. I used the QPLD before and probably you are right that I may be able to run a Query to do this but when it come to functionality I found the QPLD limiting. I may give it another go.
Unfortunately, I do not have christal reporting but I have heard that it may become part of B1 in the future?
    Thanks

  • XLR old reports not working with UDF from Marketing docs

    Hi,
We are using SAP Business One 2005 A (6.80.318)  SP: 01  PL: 16 and the following version of XLR.
XLR Version 6.80.367 (under about XLR) or 6.80.01.26 (under Add-ons manager).
We have just gone from 6.80.01.25 to 6.80.01.26 version of XLR and have had an issue with the reports that contain UDF's.
Previously when doing patches of SBO we have had issues with the UDF's renumbering eg.  SalesEmp_1 becoming SalesEmp_2.  Within the XLR reports we would simply update the identifier of the UDF and it would report correctly.
The issue this time is that the identifier has disappeared.  ie. SalesEmp_1 has become SalesEmp.  When you create a new report the data can be retrieved correctly however when you change the existing report to reflect SalesEmp (rather than SalesEmp_1) it reports no data.
I am not keen on re-creating all of my reports with UDFs and was wondering if anyone else had encountered the same issue and come up with a solution.
It may have something to do with the UDF's being available as Dimensions now whereas previously they were only Light Dimensions?
Let me know if I need to clarify further - although it will probably make perfect sense if you have been through the same issue - and if you haven't you may not be able to help.
    Kind regards
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question...
...but anyway, this Forum is focussing on the SAP Business One SDK.
In principle the Implementation Forum in the PartnerEdge P2P (http://p2p.sap.com/businessoneforum?type=join) area should more suitable for such questions.
I suggest that you raise your issue there - and hope that you will get the right answer.
...or since the issue came up when you changed from one version of XLR to another - log a question to SAP Support on the XLR component.
    Sorry,
    Frank

  • Newbie question:  How do I set the input for a series of audio recordings to be different, if I only have a 2 channel interface?

I am using a 2 channel interface (Apogee Duet) and I can record a voice and guitar track fine.  My question is how do I record a third audio track after the fact?  It seems when I attempt to record an additional track, say bass for example, Logic treats it as though it is on input 1 or 2 (which hardware wise it is of course) and merges them in a sense.   I don't know how to make it a seperate independant track, despite the fact that it was recorded through an input that I also used to record something else on a diferent track.
Thanks in advance, I very much appreciate any help.

Thanks for the response.  I know it sounds ridiculously basic.  Yes I am creating a new track and selecting it.  The third track appears in the arrange window, but changes to, for example, the third track affect the 1st.  Doesn't matter if it's a 1/4 inch guitar or XLR mic.  Yes I'm listening to the headphone output from the Duet.
I think the fundamental problem is my not understanding something about mono/stereo, or prehaps input and output settings.  I just can't seem to find the appropriate controls/settings.

  • Audio out question?

I just got in my G5 DP 2.7 and this thing is sweet. Now with that said, on to the question. I have a pair of Yorkville Studio monitors that I want to connect to my G5. The Yorkvilles have XLR inputs on them and they are Bi-amped. I do not want to go 1/8" mini to XLR for sound quality reasons. Do you guys know of another way that I can do this, possibly using the optical out to a coverter?? or a new sound card that has RCA's. Then I could go XLR from the d/a box or rca to XLR with a sound card. I was looking at some M-Audio pieces, just a little unsure. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again in advance for your time.
    PowerMac DP 2.7   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   17" PowerBook 1 Ghz, 1GB, 60GB HD, SuperDrive

M-Audio's Audiophile 2496 in their Delta line is really good. Has RCA in and out, as well SDIF. Great specs, works on MAC and PC, and is only 100 bucks.

  • Firewire and distance question

Hey everyone. I have a problem I thought could be solved by implementing a long firewire 400 cable but I've been reading up on this and have some questions. I know this is a final cut forum but I've been posting here for years and thought maybe some other editors might have tried something like this and have some insight.
I have 3 sony handicams. Vx2100's. I'm running all of them to a Sony Anycast Video mixing board. I need to set the cameras about 30 ft away from the anycast. I've been connecting them with s-video cables as I only need video. However, sometimes the video gets out of sync with the audio. The Audio is being supplied by an AKG 414 mic with XLR. I don't know what's causing the syncronization issues but I thought- maybe if I switch to a better cable system that would help.
The cameras offers regular RCA jax as well as a firewire jax to output. I thought maybe I would try a 30 ft firewire cable but after reading up on it this sounds like it may cause more issues as firewire was not made to be used in lengths of over 15' or somewhere around there. I will need twice that distance.
Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this? I also read that as long as you don't need to power your devices that using a long firewire cable would work just fine? I can't tell fact from fiction. Can someone help me out?
    Thanks.
    -Drew

    Hey Drew
+What does a repeater actually do? I'm guessing it's some kind of powered receiver that get's a signal and spits it back out ...+
    Exactly.
+If I come in firewire what does a repeater go out to? I'd need, DV, RCA or s-Video+
Well, it goes back out to Firewire (DV) ... Sorry if I misunderstood, I had thought that was what you were trying to do ie to extend the reach of the DV signal whilst maintaining it's eventual format.
+Maybe I'll just stick to S-video. Do you happen to know the limit on that? I need to go about 30 ft.+
Should be fine. S-Video is good for about 100ft - 150ft, if you have good quality cables. Conservatively speaking I wouldn't want to run any analog cables more than 50ft if I could avoid it as the signal strength is going to degrade the longer you run it (you'll still get a picture on the other end but it wont be as good) ... but as you're only going 30ft you should have absolutely no worries at all.
    Best

  • Somewhat off topic, wedding lighting and wireless lav. question

Hello everyone! This question is slightly off topic, but I'm desperate for an answer. I've been doing wedding videos for some time now and it's time to upgrade my setup. I'm currently in the market for a good, reliable wireless lavaliere mic, and a good quality on camera light. I use a panasonic DVX100b for all of my footage. For the light I'd like to spend about $400.00 ish or less, but I will spend more if the price jump dramatically increases the performance. I also have about $600 to spend on a wireless lav. system, again I will pay more if the jump in price brings a considerable jump in quality. Can anyone make any recommendations?
    Thanks

Gotta go with the Sennheiser Evolution series as well. Although I can't say that the actual mics they ships with are the best, they're not bad and I've had very few issues with the range and reception.
And if you're shooting solo, aside from the mics, make sure you pick up a 2 or 3 foot XLR cable so that you have enough hose to allow you to hook the receiver on to your belt. Beats clipping it to the handle strap.
You can also get a little adapter for the DVX that will allow you to mount the mics on the camera hot shoe on the top of the handle. I'm sure you can get these for just about and wireless you buy.

  • XL Reporter Column Question

Can somone explain the role of the selection of a Dimention in a Column as opposed to a selection in a Row. Does the  "column selection" create the repetitive area for all tranasactions to be shown?
When I have Dimentions selelcted in a Row, how do I decide on which Column to apply a Dimention?
Anybody knows od any learning material about this topic?
    Thank you
    Robert
PS The reason for my question is that I always start designing my XLR report by applying Dimentions, Light Dimentions and Measures in a Row and I get stuck because I need to set a Dimention for a Column in order to show values for a Period

    Hi Robert,
You can access it through the Documentation Resource center as well.
    Please go to the following:

  • Does the Apogee ONE XLR Input accept Line level sources?

I am looking to purchase a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18 guitar amp with the Redbox out. The manual says to plug the amp XLR output into a 'balanced, line level XLR input on the mixer.' I do not know what this means, but I do have an Apogee One which has an XLR in. Can I record a line level signal with the ONE XLR?

I have almost the same question…
My guitar amp has a line/headphone level output with a jack (TRS): can this output work with the jack input of the ONE?
Can this input stand the level of line/headphone from the amp (Blackstar HT-5)?

  • Grouping and limiting in XLR

I need help in understanding the following:
I created an XLR definition which is grouped by ItemCode and this gives me a total consumption by Item. However when I try to limit the report (say for ItemCode=MRH001) to just one Item, I seem to be running into difficulties. So my question is at what level do I limit the ItemCode:
    a. At Header level it did not work
    b. At Row level it did not work
    c. At Column level on the Item Group Column, it did not work
    any thoughts on this please
    thank you
    Robert

Have you tries using the Composer to create this report Robert? Once you have the data you need, you can save it and see what the syntax is in the Designer.
This is a good way to work when you are starting out with reports, as you can get it working, then see why it works.

  • Latency Question and USB vs. Firewire AI question

I've got a dual quad core mac pro I'm using Logic 8 with. I've got a set of speakers attached to the Line Out and Novation USB keyboard attached to one of the USB ports.
I borrowed a friend's M-Audio Firewire 410 AI, but the drivers are terrible so I'm faced with either getting a new audio interface or just using the onboard line out. The question though is if I would experience latency by choosing not to use an external AI.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but If I understand latency correctly, it's a product of bottlenecked D-A/A-D conversion, so the more powerful the machine, the more the machine can handle before it starts to choke. Factors for this could also include multiple tracks and/or multiple plugins. If that assumption is true, how far could I realistically get before I needed an external AI? Or should I just bite the bullet? I'm thinking I should just bite the bullet, but I'd like to understand how the whole latency thing works, namely if my understanding about it is correct. If I had USB speakers instead of speakers with a minijack, would that affect latency? Would the speaker set take care of the DA with zero latency or am I off my rocker?
On the topic of AIs, is there really a difference today between a Firewire AI and a USB AI for the specific purpose of single channel in/out DA conversion? Well, maybe we'll say 4 channel in/1 out. I'll set the system sounds on one channel, Logic output on another channel and maybe a monitor on a third channel and have the fourth channel used for something else. Right now, my speakers use a minijack, so I don't need 1/4" or XLR in/outs. I have my Novation, so I don't need an AI with a human interface - I just need ports. Is USB sufficient? If so, can someone recommend something small, reliable and fairly priced?

USB is fine for small devices like mice, cameras and so on, but is not well suited for continuous, real-time transfers such as audio. You will get a few channels through USB, but I would really recommend avoiding USB audio devices completely, and going for Firewire.
Latency is not caused by "bottlenecks", it's caused by the need to buffer data coming into and out of the computer - sending everything out on a per-sample basis just imposes a huge load on the processor. Using buffers significantly reduces CPU requirements.
If you have fast processors, you can get away with lower buffer sizes and therefore less latency. Higher sample rates also reduce latency as well (but again impose a significant processor load.)
The inbuilt audio system in Macs has a pretty good latency response, but is not that great in quality (the system audio on my recent MBP is appalling - far far worse than a cheap iPod Shuffle).

  • HangTime: My new SM57 Shure mic, new XLR cable, FireBox preamp & GB2

    Hangtime
In case you missed my post, everything seems to be working fine. The problem with not getting any real volume into GB2 via my new mic was apparently the simplest of things. After spending about five hours of investigating everything...following numerous back-and-forths to Apple discussions.....looked at the mic, found that the mic itself was not screwed together tightly, tightened it, and everything worked.
Question, I am so impressed with the new Shure mic that I'm considering getting another one. Although they will be few and far between, there are situations when two of us would be recording simultaneously via external mic. Problems is, how do we monitor what we would be playing via headphones. FireBox has on jack for headphones. Could another work going into the computer mic jack? Would seem unlikely since while recording, inputs/outputs are set to FireBox.
And, as always, many thanks to you for all of your help.

I had a Shure SM57 with GRIFFIN GarageBand Microphone Cable (3105-XLR) and plug into the Audio line-in port on the back of my G5. Well, didn't ring the bell. I've checked all the settings and they were correct. Only had a very small input level when I tap the mic. I am sure that the mic is fine, brand new.
But when I played my Ovation guitar with GRIFFIN guitar cable and plug directly into the audio line-in port, it sounds great. Is it because the preamp on the guitar?
Do I really need a preamp for Shure mic? Any suggestion? Please.
Thank you , thank you, thank you.
The mic signal is weaker than the guitar signal (as you're finding out!), and needs some amplification to enter GB with a strong enough signal. Generally, microphones require amplification to make their signals hot enough to properly record.
Since you're dealing with at least guitar and voice, you might want to consider a modest audio interface from a company like M-Audio or Presonus that would sort out your different types of signals, properly amplify your microphone with an onboard mic preamp, and also sound better than plugging directly into the Mac.
While many professional recordings that use the SM57 actually send it through preamps costing thousands of dollars, a modest audio interface that would do the trick wouldn't cost much more than the mic.

  • Questions on Print Quote report

    Hi,
I'm fairly new to Oracle Quoting and trying to get familiar with it. I have a few questions and would appreciate if anyone answers them
    1) We have a requirement to customize the Print Quote report. I searched these forums and found that this report can be defined either as a XML Publisher report or an Oracle Reports report depending on a profile option. Can you please let me know what the name of the profile option is?
    2) When I select the 'Print Quote' option from the Actions drop down in the quoting page and click Submit I get the report printed and see the following URL in my browser.

Does it mean that the profile in our case is set to call the rdf since it has reference to ASOPQTEL.rdf in the above url?
    3) When you click on submit button do we have something like this in the jsp code: On click call ASOPQTEL.rdf. Is the report called using a concurrent program? I want to know how the report is getting invoked?

  • Satellite P300D-10v - Question about warranty

    HI EVERYBODY
I have these overheating problems with my laptop Satellite P300D-10v.
I did everything I could do to fix it without any success..
I get the latest update of the bios from Toshiba. I cleaned my lap with compressed air first and then disassembled it all and cleaned it better.(it was really clean insight though...)
BUT unfortunately the problem still exists...
So i made a research on the internet and I found out that most of Toshiba owners have the same exactly problem with their laptop.
Well i guess this is a Toshiba bug for many years now.
Its a really nice lap, cool sound (the best in laptop ever) BUT......
So I wanted to make a question. As i am still under warranty, can i return this laptop and get my money back or change it with a different one????
If any body knows PLS let me know.
    chears
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
I have already found you other threads.
    Regarding the warranty question;
If there is something wrong with the hardware then the ASP in your country should be able to help you.
The warranty should cover every reparation or replacement.
But I read that you have disasembled the laptop at your own hand... hmmm if you have disasembled the notebook then your warrany is not valid anymore :(
I think this should be clear for you that you can lose the warrany if you disasemble the laptop!
By the way: you have to speak with the notebook dealer where you have purchased this notebook if you want to return the notebook
The Toshiba ASP can repair and fix the notebook but you will not get money from ASP.
