In these repors, The credit side of BED, Cess & HSecc is working fine. But the debit side of BED, Cess & HSecc always shows Zero value. Also tried to fix the issue by editing the respective IXR files, but no success.
Is this could be a bug in XLR?
Is this issue cleared in any upcoming patch levels ?
Is there any other solution or work around ?

You need the device which i have. The convergent design SI connect. Works great! Hook up the firewire (4pin to 4pin) from the box to the camera, then the RS 422 from the device to your BlackMagic, then the HD SDI out of your device into the BlackMagic.

Recording a Voice Over w Kona3 xlr in FCP 6

hello all
i've got a fcp 6 setup with a kona 3 card and want to record Voice Overs straight into the timeline but am having some difficulties getting any results.
The system is brand new and the card is installed properly but i'm not sure what i need to do to set the XLR 1-2 to be audible in FCP.
Currently my mic is cabled to XLR 1-2 and with the kona 3 control panel the Audio Input Select is AES/EBU (XLR) map channels 1-2 to 1-2. The other option is Embedded 1-16. I'm pretty sure this is correct and mapping the XLR inputs appropriately.
Within FCP my capture preset is AJA Kona3: 720p 59.94 DVCPro HD. Though i'm not sure if the capture preset effects the voice over tool.
Within the VO tool:

Input: Aja kona (doesn't allow a specific channel)
in/outs are set on sequence. "ready to record' is displayed but i have no levels.
any insight is appreciated as i am a little green with the kona card.

I'm not sure the AES/EBU xlr inputs will work with a mic plugged directly. This is actually intended to be a digital format - see the wiki here:

A mic plugged directly into this jack will not provide the compatible signal. I use a Kone with a breakout box that includes analog XLR inputs, but these are differentl. You may have some additional options. You need to convert the audio to digital to use the AES or "embedded" digital audio. If you have a deck connected you may bbe able to use the analog inputs on the deck as a bridge to get to the Kona.
If you are planning to use the VO tool, you may be recording scratch VO until the script is finalized... in this case, or even if this is intended to be the final audio, you can also hook up an adapter to use the Mac's built-in audio input as a source, in whic case the A/D conversion happens on the Mac's audio card.
Additionally, you can use a DV or other firewire-compatible camera as a bridge to get digital audio in via firewire.

My guess is they don't care. Most likely they're illiterate and don't know what a colon is for. They probably think it's a little-used character. Remember: these are the people who don't know the difference between "deprecate" and "depreciate".
I have the same colon problem as you do. But it's not the biggest problem I have encountered in Lion. If it was only that I'd be Mr. Delighted with Lion. There's worse than having a colon - uh - that won't cooperate. A lot worse, in Lion.

How to get XLR to show BPs with no transaction data for a given date range

I am building an XLR report that does a comparison of net sales data across two periods for a given sales employee's BPs.
The report has the row expansion:
FACT BPA(*) SLP(SlpName = "ASalesPersonNameHere") ARDT(Code = "ARCreditMemo", "Invoice") Group by BPA.CardName
and column expansions:
FIG(SO_TaxDate = @StartDate:@EndDate)
and
FIG(SO_TaxDate = @StartDate2:@EndDate2)
where @StartDate, @EndDate, @StartDate2, @EndDate2 are parameters that define the two ranges of dates.
The column formulas are, from left to right:
=ixDimGet("BPA", "CardName")
=ixGet("SO_DocTotal") <-- filtered by column expansion for first date range
=ixGet("SO_DocTotal") <-- filtered by column expansion for second date range
The report works fine except for one problem, I would like it to include BPs for which no transaction occurred in either date range as well.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Really appreciate your feedback! Those are good suggestions. I should have mentioned that I had already tried both those suggestions.
Removing FACT on BPA in this case ends up returning all the BPs and not respecting the SLP(SlpName = "aName") part of the query.
Using **, i.e., * or #NULL, makes no change in the resulting data in this case. I had thought that ** would be the solution, but it didn't change the outcome. I still have BPs for which when their sales employee is used as the filter and they have no transactions for either date range, and yet they still do not appear.
I should further mention that the IXL query, as it now stands, does return BPs for which one of the periods has no data, just not both, and I have verified that applicable BPs with no transaction data for both periods do exist in my data set. It seems that perhaps the IXL query needs to be restructured? Please keep the suggestions coming including how this query might be restructured if necessary.

Looking for a 1/4", RCA or XLR input to trrs with attentuator to allow audio recording/streaming

We have built an iPhone app that allows an artist to plug directly from their mixer to the iPhone and stream/record the set at the same time. Problem I'm having is getting the signal to come in low enough to detect it as a mic line input and record (realizing it's limited to mono for now).
Anyone know of a good cable to bring RCA, 1/4" or XLR to a 1/8" TRRS cable with the attenuator needed to drop the signal down low enough to be recognized as a mic input signal?

XLR microphone, do I need an audio interface?

I have a Sennheiser ME66 microphone with a K6 modular power supply. My computer is a Mac Pro. Using a chain of cable adapters from Radio Shack, I was able to convert from the Sennheiser XLR output to a mini-mono plug and input the thing into the Mac microphone input. This does not result in any sound getting to my software, so from poking around the Internet, I am starting to think maybe I need an audio interface of some sort. If that is correct, what is a reasonably priced interface? I only need to connect one XLR device, I am not going to be recording a band or anything, so I don't think I need a complex mixer. I am going to use the mic for voice over recording, but I want it to sound good.

However, the ME66 is not really a voice mic - it's a directional shotgun, with too much gain for close-miked voice (but you probably know that!)

How do I get XLR audio to play in two channels?

I have recently captured audio via an XLR port on my camera and was aware that it is was only on one channel but was hoping to copy the clip into another channel in FCE so it played back on both channels. For the life of me I cant work out hoe to do it because it shows up as two channels (one with silence) and wont let me seperate them.
Can anyone help?

You can do the following:
o - select the clip in the timeline
o - cmd-L to unlink video and audio
o - alt-L to separate the 2 stereo channels
o - select the empty audio channel and delete it
o - open the good audio channel in the viewer
o - change the Pan control to 0 (from -1 or 1)
o - now you can link back the audio and the video: select them both and cmd-L

XLR old reports not working with UDF from Marketing docs

Hi,
We are using SAP Business One 2005 A (6.80.318) SP: 01 PL: 16 and the following version of XLR.
XLR Version 6.80.367 (under about XLR) or 6.80.01.26 (under Add-ons manager).
We have just gone from 6.80.01.25 to 6.80.01.26 version of XLR and have had an issue with the reports that contain UDF's.
Previously when doing patches of SBO we have had issues with the UDF's renumbering eg. SalesEmp_1 becoming SalesEmp_2. Within the XLR reports we would simply update the identifier of the UDF and it would report correctly.
The issue this time is that the identifier has disappeared. ie. SalesEmp_1 has become SalesEmp. When you create a new report the data can be retrieved correctly however when you change the existing report to reflect SalesEmp (rather than SalesEmp_1) it reports no data.
I am not keen on re-creating all of my reports with UDFs and was wondering if anyone else had encountered the same issue and come up with a solution.
It may have something to do with the UDF's being available as Dimensions now whereas previously they were only Light Dimensions?
Let me know if I need to clarify further - although it will probably make perfect sense if you have been through the same issue - and if you haven't you may not be able to help.

I suggest that you raise your issue there - and hope that you will get the right answer.
...or since the issue came up when you changed from one version of XLR to another - log a question to SAP Support on the XLR component.

Sales Analysis report in XLR

SAP XLR Sales per Customer by Item report that published in the portal doesn't include document discount. This is a reason for the differences between XLR and B1 sales analysis report.
How can I calculate discount from the document in XLR when the report is run by invoice/credit memo lines.

Hello,
In XLR Composer> Sales tab, if you want to design a report group by document number, then choose the Document Number light dimension first,then "discount% per document", choose item/quantity/row total and so on for row level information. This will give you the result instead of 0.
If you want to run the report group by items. The same way you can do but the only difference is choose the item Dimension first, then you can also drag document level ,Document number for example.
Header and row levels table can be connected and use together if there is the relationship between them.
Choose discount % per document and then use calculation to calculate the discount amount of a document.

Cannot choose UDF created in profit center for XLR

Hi,
Customer required additional analysis in profit center. We had created U_Outlettype and U_Salestype in Profit center but it is not able to make these 2 UDF in profit center under Tools\User defined field.
May I know how to make it visible for selection and grouping in report composer and report organizer?

Are u able to see other UDF"s in XLR . means udf specific to profit center is not visible or all udf are not visible .
if only profit centre is not visible u have choose alternate wy either QLD,ALD or Crydtal reprot.

Getting the Payment Terms on XLR

I am creating a Billing Note document using XLR. Everything is fine, except for I am unable to get the payment terms (Name) on the report.
I am trying to use the Payment Terms set in the BP Master data, but this is just the code. I need the description of this code sitting in the Payment Terms (OCTG) table.
How can this be done in XLR ?

You may need to use the "Get Other Data" function to do this.
If you bring out the code in our definition, then, in a different area, bring out the names in the table, you can then insert a look up column to look up the code in the Get Other Data table and hide the code column.

How do I convert a XLR created in works to a PDF?

I created a document in Microsoft Works Spreadsheet which is a xlr file. I need to convert it to a pdf file. I installed adobe acrobat but now what do I do?

Your going to have to work at it. First You going to have to save it as an Excel file then you can save as a PDF. Works was put out before Acrobat was even a gleam in someone's eye. And Adobe never did support the file type. Works died on Mac Platform about 10 years ago and probably didn't last many years longer on PC.
Works first came on a Mac as direct competition to Appleworks. This was back in the day when MS was making every legal effort it could to kill off anything Apple.
MY very first ever application for my First Mac an SE/30 was MS Works Because Apple hadn't come out with the Apple IIe Conversion yet. I wouldn't be ready for another couple of Months. I suppose Works was the Daddy to Office.

Error message loading XLR add-on

On loading SAP, we are getting the following error message:
Unable to connect to XL Reporter
Error! Server communication failed!
Cause: Error! Unable to get document!
Type: 36
Cause: Application-defined or object-defined error
SAP is reporting that XLR connected OK on the status bar but no reports are available. Please help!

follow below procedure
start->my computer>cdrive>program files >sap>sap business one> remove these two files 1).AddOnsInstall.sbo and 2).AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo and clear all ur %temp%Files,prefetch,recent files and restart and open sap then u will get connected to xl reporter add on. and u will not get any errors and see that ms office 2003 is installed

Apple TV/Toslink to XLR (or 1/4")

What is the best option, preferably costing under $100 or so, for using an Apple TV in conjunction with a very large, professional sound system that takes XLR and 1/4".

HDMI is the only supported method, there will be no guarantee with any other. You would also need a DAC (digital to analogue converter) for the audio. Even if everything did work you would be unable to view protected content (unless monitor is HDCP compliant) and functionality could cease at any time
