  • Phone won't start unless plugged in.  No phone or internet service

On my 4S the phone won't start unless plugged in.  Once plugged in it shows 100% charged.  If I unplug it it will go dark and no button works.
Once plugged in and the phone is on it keeps searching.  I receive no phone or internet service.  After awhile it will dim and then go dark.  Have to reset to get it back on.  Each time, it goes to 4PM and 12/31.  Can go through apps, but no sound (music for example).
Anyone have these types of problems before.

Sounds like its broken. Take it to an Apple store for replacement, as its still in warranty. Make an appointment first. http://www.apple.com/retail

  • Mac Mini won't start up properly

I have the latest generation Mac Mini (actually it's my son's) and it worked fine for some months (2 months to be precise). He doesn't use it very often, maybe once a week or so. And then suddenly the Mac Mini doesn't want to start up properly. It starts (takes a lot of time) and then on the main screen the mouse will not function whatever I do; no reaction. Same thing for the keyboard. Tried both USB devices on my MacBook Pro and they functioned fine. I then started up in target mode and installed the new 10.6.7 combo update from my MacBook Pro on the Mini but still it will not start up. What could I do to solve this?

  • TS3694 MY PHONE WON'T START AFTER A RESET

My phone won't work after i reset all contents

Try DFU Mode Restore. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power button, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. DFU Mode can be difficult to enter sometimes, just keep trying. DFU Mode is a black, blank screen with iTunes saying Recovery Mode.

  • Pasted excessively large folder, won't start up properly

    Here is the deal.
I was in GarageBand and I accidentally dragged the iTunes icon from the media pane to the desktop. It kept saying "Preparing to copy 4464 items" and after an hour of freezing it eventually went to sleep. I rebooted my iMac and now it won't start up. It shows the dock some desktop icons, the menu bar and I can only move the mouse. Any ideas on how to maybe restore the system on a previous state or cancel the action which I guess tries again when finder opens at login?

  • B575 Won't start up properly

I purchased a Lenovo B575 about 2 months ago.  Just in the last week, 5x I have had issues with start up of my system.
It started last Wednesday, I turned on my computer, the black Windows start up screen came up with the Windows logo, then changed to the turquoise blue screen that says Welcome and has the little spinning circle, which usually quickly changes to the screen that needs my user password or fingerprint swipe.  Then it stalls.  The spinning circle stops spinning and nothing happens.  I have left it for up to 10 minutes and it does not load.  I powered it off and I get the screen saying Windows didn't shut down properly giving me the options to start in Safe Modes or normally.  Tried normally, same thing happens.  The only way I got it to work was to start it in safe mode and then do a system restore back to the day before.  It would then power down and start up and work.  As soon as I shut down, two days later, I try to turn it on again, same issue.  I try to restart it, no worky!  I system restore, back to the same day it shuts down and restarts but I get an error mesage saying the system restore didn't compete, but the systems starts up normally and I have no issues.    I have had to do this 3x again since, every time I turn on the lap top.  I am not sure what the problem is and why or how to fix it permanently.  It's not a pricey computer, it was on $450 but I shouldn't need to system restore everyday to start it up!  Any advice or troubleshooting tips or explanation would be appreciated.  Of course, I didn't buy any extended warranty with Future Shop where I bought it (or I would have just taken it back) because of the price, it wasn't worth the money they wanted, but it is still under manufacturer's warranty as it is only 2 months since I purchased it.  I know I can wipe it out and do a complete reinstall, but I don't want to go that route if I don't have to......plus, what's to say the same thing won't happen again in another couple months.  Would prefer to know the cause of the problem to find a long term solution as opposed to a short term bandaid!
I appreciate any advice or help to troubleshoot it further.
    Thanks

  • Phone won't start after installing iOS 6

Alright, first post here so bear with me.
So I installed iOS 6 I think maybe last Sunday and everything was fine from there. Safari, messaging, photos, apps were all working well. After the install I had lost all my apps but it didn't bother me as I don't have many so I installed them all again.
Today I forgot to install a flashlight app so I decided to do so then my phone went black. I thought hmm thats odd, and tried turning it on but it wouldn't. I thought it had simply loss battery so I connected it and it still wouldn't turn on. I decided to press and hold the home and power button to try and restore it and the apple startup screen kept flashing on and off.
Eventually I was able to restore it after numerous attempts and I decided to back it up as I did not want to lose anything. Restored and everything fine again except I was left with no apps and music, so, a bit annoyed, I added a few albums and went to my bed for a nap and tried to install Alien Blue app on my phone to read to get me to sleep but crashed again.
Now I realize it's something to do with the app store so I realize I should just probably restore my iphone clean (real pain in the *** though) but now it's not letting me restore and the start up screen is just blinking on and off. Have it connected to my computer but itunes is not reading it and have gone into Services on computer and disabled then enabled Apple Phone Device but no dice.
Is there anyone that could help me please? I would really really appreciate it.
P.S. I have an iPhone 4 which I have had for nearly 2 years, my contract runs out in December.

You may of had a corrupted install. Connect to iTunes backup then restore. Or update the apps on itunes then sync to the iPhone

  • My phone won't turn on properly

I have a nokia 5800 Xpress Music phone. I've had it for around 2 years now. I recently dropped it in water and by drying it with rice I managed to get it back. I wasn't able to charge my old battery and then it died on me. So I ordered a new battery which worked fine. Once that ran out of power, I wasn't able to charge it. But when I have the charger plugged in I got virbrations. Then the charging screen came up. but the battery level bit was on 1 and wasn't changing. Then it just dies. Sometimes, it goes to the main screen and then dies after a few seconds. I don't know what's wrong. Surely it can't be the charger, cos I have tried two already and I'm sure they both work. They work on my mum's phone which uses the same charger. and the battery is brand new.
btw I did have it near my laptop, while it was drying. near the ventalation part of my laptop.

When it comes to dropping phones in water there are more than just the battery getting exposed to it and can fail - and often will fail after sometime.
However, you write that the battery got totally empty and it seems to start charging normal and then you get to the start screen and it dies... Have you tried to let it charge for 15 mins or more before turning it on?
Anyway, If that isn't the cause and you've made sure of that, there isn't much you can do.

  • Won't Start Up Properly

I got my Macbook to start up before, but it keep freezing (as in the only thing I could do was move the mouse. The clock would stop, even). I tried shutting it down, but eventually had to resort to holding down the power button until it shut down. Now, when I power it up, it won't get any further than the Apple logo and the little "thinking" circle. I've tried all the shortcuts (holding X down to force it, resetting the nvram, etc), but it still won't power up. Any suggestions?
Oh and the nearest apple store is over an hour away, so that's a last resort. If I can fix it myself, that'd be wonderful.
ADDITIONAL INFO: My Macbook Pro is about 3 years old. I upgraded to Leopard last year, and I haven't had any major problems with it so far. I believe I have 10.5.4, but as I can't get on it, I'm not 100% positive on that one.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Try booting in Safe Mode.
Starting up in “safe mode” may help you to diagnose problems you’re having with your computer.
To start up in safe mode:
Shut down your computer and wait 10 seconds.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key.
You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after your hear the startup tone, but not before.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator (spinning gear).
To leave safe mode, restart the computer normally without holding down any keys during startup.
    What is Safe Mode
Boot from your install disk and use Disk Utility. xInsert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If Disk Utility cannot repair the disk, then you will need a disk utility like DiskWarrior or TechToolPro

  • Help! imac won't start up properly

I recently purchased a new macbook and yesterday I transfered all my data from my old imac g5 to my new macbook using the migration manager program. I have been using my macbook sucesfully ever since, but now whenever i try to turn on the g5 I get an error message along with a power symbol that says "you need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the restart button" I'm very concerned and really can't loose data from this old computer. I've tried restarting the computer many times, and unplugging it as well as unplugging all the attached cords. Nothing works. Please help.
I'm worried that if i restart it using the startup disk i will loose information and i really can't have this happen.
Thanks so much for your help!

"I get an error message along with a power symbol that says "you need to restart your computer."
Is this what you are seeing?
If so, you are having what is known as a kernel panic - What is a kernel panic? (Mac OS X)
    Other info to review:

You won't lose any info from starting from your System Install DVD. However, most people here recommend that you always have a backup.

  • MacMini won't start-up properly after trying to update to OS10.5.7

I am unable to hear the nice ping when I start my MacMini. I went to update from 10.5.6, and when the administrator box appeared, my administrator name was missing and my password didn't work ( but I did get the correct hint).
I have tried starting in the safe mode to change the password, but this didn't do anything. I tried starting from the start-up disk, ran utilities(can't run utilities with normal start-up due to needing password), found numerous errors and had them repaired. Ran a second time, and no errors were found.
At this point, I change my password back to the original password; and when I went to restart my computer, the nice ping was gone at start-up. I still had the same issue with my administrator name and password. Now though, even when trying to start with the "c" key pressed, I can't start-up using the disc.
I have tried loading onto an external hard drive and starting that way, with no luck as well. ALL important documents and files have been saved and removed, but I can't reload the operating system.
    Who has the magic answer?

    Hello
Usually this happens because of operating system file corruption from an improper shutdown. Your Macbook probably didn't enter safe-sleep when it ran out of battery.
You can probably fix your corrupt files by loading your OSX installation disk, and running disk utility.
Put your OSX disc into your macbook. If it doesn't boot into the disc, press down "Option" as you boot up.
Once the OSX installation process starts, keep clicking next/ok until you can see a menu bar on the top of the screen. Once you see the menu bar, click on it and select Disk Utility.
From there, you can check for errors and repair them.
When you're done, just select "shutdown" or "restart" from the menu. Don't proceed to re-install the OS!!
    Good luck!
