XMII connectivity

Hi,
I have the following questions.
1)  Are web services the only / preferred integration methology for connecting to MII ? Are there any other options?
2) Any ideas if xMII could interface with MES - "PSI metals"
Appreciate your ideas.
Thanks,
Srini

Here is a brief on the connectivity...

hope it helps

  • Data Buffer using xMII connected to ECC through XI

    Hi all,
Is there anyway to use xMII data buffer using XI to connect to ECC?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The failed messages are stored temporarily in the NetWeaver database and used by the JMS queue which retries sending the message until that is delivered by executing the RFC. So even if the MII server is restarted the messages to be retried are present in the database with pending status which will be retried by the JMS queue.
    Thanks,

  • SCADA - XMII - ERP integrations through SAP PI

    Hi Experts,
I have an integration scenario comprising of a SCADA system & SAP ECC. Could anybody suggest some document / send reference links on SCADA - XMII - ERP integrations through SAP PI.
    Useful response would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Santhosh

    SCADA-XMII integration
Scada system should always remain connected to some Historian system. You can directly connect to SCADA system to xMII using vendor specific UDS (Universal Data Servers) Like Citect UDS ...
If vendor specific UDS is not available in MII then you can make it possible if the SCADA system is OPC complaint, through OPC UDS DA, but it provides only current data without any mata data information.
As a robust business practice it is not recommended to use direct SCADA connectivity to xMII, it should go through some Historian( Citect, Wonderware, Siemens...many more) so XMII will be able to get all plant floor operations data in history & current modes.
    XMII-ERP Integration
XMII supports IDOC & BAPI communication with ERP system using various SAP connectors available in XMII as in SAP BC, SAP JCO.
Specific to PI Sheet, you can download various control receipe, process orders data using IDocs.
BAPIs can be used to do "process order confirmations" back to ERP system and make changes in process data.
Let me know if you would like to know about specific SCADA system- xMII connectivity or specific activity in PI.

  • BW Error: No Data returned by XI

    Hello
I am working on an BW(proxy) XI (synchronous)XMII scenario. The scenario is working fine in the DEV environment. I have transported objects to QA when BW is running the query it is givng an error which states no data returned by XI. Is the error due to improper transports on XI side ?
I tested the scenario for XI to xMII connection and it is working fine. At BW end it is giving error.
Thanks. I truly appreciate your help in this case.

Edited by: KIRAN SAKHARDANDE on Apr 1, 2008 12:03 AM

I performed the sldcheck and I think the error is caused since BW is unable to detect business system BWT
    BW Error 1:
GET_BUSINESS_SYSTEM_ERROR: An error occured when determining the business sytem NO_BUSINESS_SYSTEM
    BW Error 2:
    No data returned by XI
I will keep you update with the resolution.
    Thanks.

  • Which version of Axis is included in SAP NW Java EE5?

I'm the architect for SAP xMII Connectivity and have been working with Microsoft technologies for over 10 years and web services on/off for the past 2.   My primary work has been using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) against Axis2 and Sun WSIT, but I am now investigating the WS capabilies of the new SAP Java DevStudio.
When I began to play with the latest SAP NW Dev Studio, the WS client wizard showed Axis as the selected WS runtime.  Is this Axis 2, and if so, what version is this specifically?  If this is Axis2, will the NW environment support the deployment of a custom Axis2 transport?
Thanks in advance for any response,
    Bob DeRemer

    Hi Bob,
Indeed, SAP NWDS in Java EE 5 Edition is based on Eclipse 3.2 and WTP 1.5, which supports Apache Axis 1.3 (see <a href="http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jst/components/ws/index.html">here</a>). Searching the eclipse site I found some plans for integrating Axis2 into WTP 2.0 (<a href="http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Meetings_for_Integrating_Axis2_into_WTP">here</a>).
However, please note that the SAP Server in Java EE 5 Edition does not support the Apache Axis Web service runtime. You can use it with the SAP NetWeaver runtime and this is the default configuration when you start the WS wizard.

  • JCO Proxy Error while connecting xMII into SAP R/3 Server

    Hi All
When we try connect out SAP xMII server to the SAP R/3 Server using JCo (JCO Interface), we are getting an error
"Fatal Error: JCOProxy Error:Name or Password is incorrect, please re-enter"
We have checked the userID and password for logging into the SAP R/3 System and it is all correct and we are also able to login with the same userID/password using SAPGui. All the other details like SAP Server, Client Instance is all correct.
appreciate if someone can help resolving this.
    Thanks and Regards
    Biju Kumar

    Hi Biju,
I have also experienced this error. We are using xMII 12.0.1 with SAP R/3 4.6B. Please make sure that your password is in lowercase without special characters. Also check the xMII-logs if there is some more information about the error.
If nothing helps, delete the SAP server entry in Data Services and re-enter it. Maybe this makes it work. I found that either the password was different or the new entry helped.
    Regards
    Michael

  • Connecting to a PI Data Historian with xMII 12.0

I'm trying to connect to a PI data historian from xMII 12.0. The PI connection was running OK on my xMII 11.5 server with the UDS 2.5 framework and PI UDS installed on the PI server.  The UDS 2.5 stuff is still running on the PI server but I'm not sure what I need to do on the xMII 12.0 server to make the connection.
    Thanks!
    David

Thanks, Jeremy.  The data server info came over from 11.5 to 12.0 during the migration but, while I can still make a connection and pull in data with my 11.5 development server, I get an 'Error' status with my 12.0 development server.
    Any ideas?

  • What User authorization objects needed for connecting to SAP from xMII?

We eneter a SAP user and password for connecting to SAP from xMII to retrieve the metadata of the incoming IDocs.
When I specify a user with SAP_ALL user profiles, the IDocs are received properly in xMII. If I specify a user with privileges to run only certain transactions, IDocs are not received in xMII.
What user authorization objects are needed for this user to connect to SAP from xMII?
    Thanks,
    Sara

    Sam,
I turned on the SAP System trace for this user and figured out the following auth. objects are required for receiving IDocs in xMII:
    C_TCLA_BKA
    S_RFC
    S_CTS_ADMI
    B_ALE_MAST
    S_IDOCDEFT
The following auth. object is required for making JCO call to SAP from xMII:
    C_AFRU_AWK
    Thanks,
    Sara

  • Credential Alias in JCO connection - xMII 12.1.4

    Hi All,
We are using SAP xMII of version 12.1.4 Build (46).
We are trying to add SAP server details over system configuration editor under data services.
While adding entries for JCO connection, we didn't find any place to update login credentials for SAP server.
Created connection successfully, we opened a new transaction and add SAP JCO interface as an action block.
When we try to configure, there is drop down named "Credentail Alias".
We could not see any data gets populated in drop down.
On clicking "Get List" button, we got an error saying "JCO Proxy Error : No Credential Alias Defined".
Kindly help us to overcome the error.
    Thanks.
    Rajesh.S

    Rajesh,
you can define the Credential Alias under the MII Admin Menu -> Security Services  -> Credential Editor .
After defining a New entry go back to your TRX and open again the Configuration of your JCO Action Block.
Now you will find in the Credential Alias dropdown box the Alias that you created before.

  • Connecting XML files with xMII

    Hi,
i want to connect xml file (say one.xml having table name and price) with xMII. how can i do it? by using TAG query? what is the simulatorTag.xml?
    - senthil

    Senthil,
Save your .xml file in your local system
Open Business Logic Editor and under WEB you can find xmlLoader.
Right Click and configure the path of the xml file in source URL.
This will load your xml file and all the rowsets will be available for further manipulation...
Tag Query is normally used to query a Tag type database like simulator..
    Hope this helps,
    Ajitha

  • Connecting xMII with ms sql2005

    Hi All,
I want to connect to ms sql2005 from xmii11.5
My xmii is installed in one machine and the sql2005 database is installed in a different machine.
Is it mandatory to install sql2005 on the same machine where xmii is installed or we can put it across diffrent machines?? please let me know how to go about it..
<b>There is also other scenario where i have sql 2000 installed in a diferent machine.
Is it possible to connect it to xmii server remotely.</b>
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Aseem

ya you can do tat.... just define the database server in the xMII data servers tab....
    goto data services->dataserver...
you have to look for Default JDBC server after unchecking "Show Only Enabled Servers "
copy it and give a new name...
<b>jdbc driver..... com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</b> (if its mysql)
    <b>server URl ...........jdbc:mysql://IPaddress of the sql server/databasename</b>
give username and password....enable it...nd save it...

  • XMII loosing MSSQL Connection

    Hi.
I have some installations of xMII version 11.5 and MSSQL 2000 or 2005. And I have a couple of times seen, probably after rebooting either the xMII or SQL server, that the DB connection is not re-established.
In order to get it up again, I need to open the DB connections and press save without any modifications.
Is there another cure for this?
    Br.
    Poul.

    Poul
In the xMII Menu, check <b>Data Access</b> in the option <b>Security Services</b>.
Only available servers will be shown in the list.
If your desired SQL DB is not present there, then make that server enabled/configured from <b>Data Server</b> in the option <b>Data Services</b>

  • XMII 12 help file location and virtual connections

    Hi.
I have just installed xMII version 12 It took me 20 days the first time, but now it is easy.
Two questions. When trying to activate help, it opens a link like...
    http://wbhelp.sap.com/manufacturing/xmii_120/da/44/2AF20B1DDE23D3E10000000A1553F7/content.htm
    How to fix this ??
Is it possible to make virtual connections to xMII version 11.5 ??
    BR.
    Poul Klemmensen.

    Hi Poul.
What language of the help are you trying to access?  I see "/da/" in the middle of your help URL, but if you're trying to access the German version of the help, it should be "/de/".
For now, you can manually replace the "da" with "de" for German or "en" for English, and you should be able to see the help topic without error.
