XMII Productivity Wizards - xMII v12.0

We are migrating from xMII v11.5 to xMII v12 and needing to download the Productivity Wizards from the SDN Community. When try to download, an agreement pops up: SAP DEVELOPERS NETWORK – SAP 90 DAYS EVALUATION LICENSE AGREEMENT.
Is there a Productivity Wizard download available that is not a 90 day evaluation? Any other information would be appreciated.
Thanks

Dave,
On the SDN, select Downloads -> for Manufacturing
OR click here:
and select:
xMII 12.0 Sample Projects and Tools
This has the Frontpage wizards for publishing v12 content into the workbench environment.
Hope this helps.

  • Problem in Xmii object wizard

    Hi Sascha !

    please help me
    Thanks And Regards,

The easiest way is to make a link in the xMII portal for your page this way it's available when you login into xMII.
To do this please follow this:
    From the xMII portal:
    click..."Portal Services" menu item
click..."Navigation" submenu item...a new screen will come up
From the "Navigation" popup select the role you would like the page available for....if it's for testing just pick "Everyone" to make it easy.
In the first pane called "Navigation Tree" you can create your menu strucutre or simply enter the link directly.
Click "Add" in the "Navigation Tree" pane....a popup will come up.
Enter the name for your page
Click the "...Files" button and navigate and select your page from the webroot.
    Click "OK"....click "SAVE"
Go back to the main portal page and click the "Refresh" link at the top right of the xMII portal page.
Your new page link will appear in the left navigation tree.
    I hope this helps....
For future references it's also useful to check out the xMII Help @

The direct link for setting up the navigation is here: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_xmii115/helpdata/en/Personalization/Home_Page_Editor.htm">Navigation Information</a>

    HI,
Thanks a lot for your help Jeremy.
Right now, I'm planning to remove the xMII and J2SDK completely from the server, and then start the installation from scratch with 1.4.2_12.
Can you give me the instructions for totally removing xMII from the server. With nothing left at all.
From the Add/remove s/w, I need to remove the following:
    SAP xMII 11.5
    SAP xMII CMS 11.5
    SAP xMII Productivity Wizards
    SAP xMII Security 11.5
    ServletExec 5.0 AS

  • Frontpage in v12

    Hi
I just started using v12, and am trying to get Frontpage to work for my web content.
Whenever I choose "Edit with Frontpage" in my browser it only shows me the xmii login page.
Do I even need Frontpage?  I couldn't find any reference to any of the XMII plug-ins on the Workbench (these are the only reason I use Frontpage at the moment).

    Hi Nick,
The Frontpage plugin is available on the SDN under "xMII 12.0 Sample Projects and Tools" -> xMII Productivity Wizards, here is the link:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/801e9072-ae80-2a10-5e90-8ee2e4f703ca
The Productivity Wizards are now packaged separately.
    Kind Regards,

  • Use of Expression Web for web development in MII 12.0

    Hi ,
I have been developing on MII 12.0 using Frontpage 2003. I have a new Vista system and it doesnot support Frontpage. I am using Expression Web for development of web pages. I would like to know whether i can use the xMII Productivity Wizards along with Expression Web.
    Thanks,
    Amit

If the built-in plug-in for FrontPage doesn't work, then the standalone versions should still work.

  • XMII 12.0: Unable to write file...

    Hi all,
lately we are facing some problems using xMII. One point is that you can easily move file or folder inside the xMII 12.0 workbench because there is no confirmation popup when clicking on a folder and move it by chance.
Apparently I have moved a folder, and it seems that I produced a Catalog Server Error according to the log. Now xMII seems to be confused, because we are now getting lots of error of the kind "Unable to wirte file..." like this:
    Unable to write file D:\usr\sap\MES\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\XMIIEnterpriseApplication\servlet_jsp\XMII\root\CM/Development/USER/xml/treestructure.xml
Have you already encountered such an error? Is it because of the "/" and "\" signs that are mixed inside the URL? Or could it be the Catalog Error mentioned above?
    Thanks for a hint!
    Best regards
    Michael

    Jeremy,
we are using xMII in combination with Adobe Flex. So xMII is going to talk to the database, and Flex as the presentation layer is calling xMII transactions to get the data.
The HTML wrapper that Flex creates and the SWF-Files are stored in the CM folder of xMII so that we can include it in the xMII Portal using the navigation wizard of xMII.
In xMII we have set up a sandbox project, so the file structure in xMII is "xMII-Root\Sandbox\Data" (Catalog) and "xMII-Root\Sandbox\WEB\Data" (Web).
When using the xMII workbench we are importing the SWF-Files into "xMII-Root\Sandbox\WEB\Data". In Flex-Builder we have set up an ant-file that deploys the SWF-Files directly into the "xMII-Root\CM\Sandbox\Data" folder after changing them. However, when only using the ant file, the copied files are gone the next day, when the WebAS restores the contents, I guess.
Using the ant files of course is much easier than using the import feature of the workbench. Maybe you can recommend a better way of deploying?
    Best Regards
    Michael

  • XMII Browser Detect

    Hello All,
I am reading through the sdn doc "How to configure the  xmii server and xmii pages for mobile devices" I am trying to incorporate the logic which detects the kind of browser and displays the appropriate page for mobile device. I am a little confused about how to use the client.ini entry to acomplish this. The document just states: "from this string the keyword can be extracted as the identifier....." but does not give any details.
Does anyone have a step by step on how to display the page specifically for a mobile web browser.
    Thanks,
    Mahwish

All browsers have a unique identifier describing them, called HTTP_USER_AGENT ID string. This information is usually sent by the browser when making the HTTP request to the server and makes part of the transmission headers. Browser IDs (more correctly User Agent IDs) appear, among other places, as the environmental variable HTTP_USER_AGENT in Apache).
You need this information to make the fewest checks possible for the browser environment - or how to optimize the display or ... to know who and what is crawling around your site. In our case, it's to set up the display capabilities of xMII for your mobile devices.
To give you an idea of how varied the UA strings are (even for a single device type), here’s a sampling of “Windows CE” agent ID strings:

The article/author can NOT give any details about selecting the right word which uniquely identifies your mobile device due to their variety, but it gives you an example.
First you need to test your mobile device ID string by visiting a web site which will display this information. Then you have to find the right "filter" and include it in the "client.ini" file together with the information about what to display (e.g. <i>Token=SIMPLEHTML, Mime-Type=text/html</i> to avoid applets).
If you want specific information, please tell us specifics of the mobile devices you use.

  • XMII 12.0 on NW 7.1 CE?

I installed the NW 7.1 CE developer preview and installed xMII 12.0 via JSPM.  I created my 3 groups, XMII Administrators, XMII Users, and XMII Developers and assigned them to my user.  I upgraded my JCO DLLs (Windows XP SP-latest).  I restarted NW 7.1 CE.  When I go to URL http://myhost:50100/XMII (or .../XMII/Menu.jsp), I get the following stack dump:

  • Execute Business Transaction from xMII via XI to SAP R/3

    Hello everyone,
I have a requirement to post the SAP R/3 transaction from xMII via XI. Does anyone one could give me the steps needs to follow to accomplish this.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

    Mahesh,
So as i understand your flow is xMII -> XI -> SAP ECC. So basically in this case u can setup XI to host a web service and xMII can call the web-service and post the data to XI. You will have to get the WSDL for the XI Web Service and then use it in the Web Service action block in xMII to consume. You will also need to setup the soap adapter in XI to receive the web service call from xMII. Once xMII calls the web service, XI can then update the data into SAP ECC either thru Idoc or RFC adapter.
So once your trigger point in xMII is activated, it should call the BLS which in turn will call the XI Web Service and post the data to XI.
In case the scenario is the other way round you can also host your BLS as a Web Service in xMII. XI can then call the web service and send the data to xMII. Alternatively you can also use the http post action block in xMII to do the same.
Let me know if you need anymore info.
    Thanks,
    Kapil.

  • SCADA - XMII - ERP integrations through SAP PI

    Hi Experts,
I have an integration scenario comprising of a SCADA system & SAP ECC. Could anybody suggest some document / send reference links on SCADA - XMII - ERP integrations through SAP PI.
    Useful response would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Santhosh

    SCADA-XMII integration
Scada system should always remain connected to some Historian system. You can directly connect to SCADA system to xMII using vendor specific UDS (Universal Data Servers) Like Citect UDS ...
If vendor specific UDS is not available in MII then you can make it possible if the SCADA system is OPC complaint, through OPC UDS DA, but it provides only current data without any mata data information.
As a robust business practice it is not recommended to use direct SCADA connectivity to xMII, it should go through some Historian( Citect, Wonderware, Siemens...many more) so XMII will be able to get all plant floor operations data in history & current modes.
    XMII-ERP Integration
XMII supports IDOC & BAPI communication with ERP system using various SAP connectors available in XMII as in SAP BC, SAP JCO.
Specific to PI Sheet, you can download various control receipe, process orders data using IDocs.
BAPIs can be used to do "process order confirmations" back to ERP system and make changes in process data.
Let me know if you would like to know about specific SCADA system- xMII connectivity or specific activity in PI.
    Thanks

  • Correct expansion for abbreviation - xMII

    Hello all -
A light question on a Friday morning
Following is the title of SAP xMII on SAP's web page:  SAP xApp MANUFACTURING INTEGRATION AND INTELLIGENCE.
However on the Login screen of xMII it says - SAP xAPP Manufacturing Intelligence & Integration (SAP xMII) and this is the only page (I think) where its inconsistent.
This is not a big problem:  I am simply wondering if we know the correct expansion of SAP xAPP xMII?
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Hi Srini,
    Its
SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP xMII)
SAP xMII manufacturing integration functionality forms the backbone of SAP xMII architecture by providing universal data connectivity to a variety of plant floor, enterprise, and other systems.
SAP xMII manufacturing intelligence functionality allows organizations to gather data from a variety of different systems. (both points as explained in https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/)
Obviously we can gather data after connectivity only!
Hence it is SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP xMII)
Everywhere in SAP xMII Help documentation, xMII Portal,  SAP XMII GETTING STARTED GUIDE, Forum and Wiki (sdn.sap.com) etc. you will find this only.
    At one place (https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/xMII/SAPxMIIfortheManufacturing+Industries)
    What is SAP xMII?
you will fine Intelligence and Integration.
    Take Care

    Hi All,
I worked with few automation/scada tools like wonderware, and heard about plc softwares like intellution, dianlogs etc.
Is xMII meant to replace such scada softwares in shopfloors.
I mean which are the softwares/tools that are currently used by shopfloors that can be replaced by using xMII.
I need these provide these details to a client who would like to go for xMII after understanding its advantages.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Does xMII have encoding and decoding functuinality?

    hello,
does xMII have encoding and decoding functionality in xMII application level?
or xMII does not have application level encoding and decoding and users just use SSL technology or network device level encode / decode technology when they want to have data communication security?
Sincerely, Shiroh Kinoshita - SAP Japan

    Hello (Konnichiha) Vivek,
    Thanks for your answer.
I understand those database level and server level authorization functionality.  What I mean is :
I mean security for data leakage during data communication between something and xMII.  does xMII have any encode and decode function during communication?
    Sincerely, Shiroh Kinoshita
