XMII Wizard

Hi All,
When accessing xMII Wizard from MS FrontPage, how can I change the Web Server? Right now, it asks me for my User Name and Password without asking for the Web Server I want to use. However, when I open the xMII Wizard seperately it first asks me for a Web Server Name (the default being 'localhost') and then the Illuminator Credentials. Please help.

1. Within the file menu of Microsoft FrontPage select File...Open Site
2. In the dialog box that appears enter your server path in the Site Name field (such as: http://servername or if your IIS is running on something other than port 80 you will need to use the format http://servername:port)
3. If FrontPage Server Extensions have been setup properly on the server you should then be able to provide user credentials for the webroot and see the structure on the left.
Notice that the blue application title bar now shows something like: "Microsoft FrontPage - http://servername" which is actually parsed by the plug-in tools to know where to route your http requests to the MII server for query/display template information, etc. If the application title bar has a mapped drive path or UNC share it will default to localhost, which is why you must open a web site from within the editor.
In standalone mode the wizard prompts you for the server and instead of embedding the text directly into the editor, the Create HTML or Save Script buttons just put the text into the Windows Clipboard, allowing you to Ctrl-V or Paste the text into anywhere.

XMII Wizard Problem

Dear All,
I have been able to make the xMII-11.5 (with SR05) working. Now we are trying to connect the xMII wizard from the clients and nothing is happening. We have installed Frontpage 2003 on the client machine and added the frontpage add-in as well which is showing when we launch the Frontpage application. I have already connected to the website with open-site option while starting up the frontpage.
I am not sure if we have to locally install the wizards to the local client machine. if yes, then how? One more point when we go to the link of wizard http://<servername>/Illuminator/WizardInstall/IlluminatorWizard.exe, it gives a message page cannot be found.
Incidentallly, the same URL also gives same error while running itself on the server machine itself. But we have a component available & installed on to the loal machine which makes this wizard run when we launch the option xMII objects from the frontpage on the local server machine.
All kind of help is highly appreciated from the gurus. Although I have gone through most of the posts on this forum, but there is a fair possibility that I might have missed to read something which is already being discussed earlier n this form. Please guide.

You should be able to run the install from the Visualization Services category, Wizard Install. You can also run it from the URL given, but make sure you include the port number or you will receive a "page not found" error. A search on "Stand-alone Wizards" in 11.5 help will give you the background information on the Wizards.
If you planning an upgrade in the near future, you may want to consider 12.1 since the wizards are built into the Workbench. The Workbench is a "one stop shop" so MII developers can create HTML and XML documents as well as MII content specific objects.

XMII Productivity Wizards - xMII v12.0

We are migrating from xMII v11.5 to xMII v12 and needing to download the Productivity Wizards from the SDN Community. When try to download, an agreement pops up: SAP DEVELOPERS NETWORK SAP 90 DAYS EVALUATION LICENSE AGREEMENT.
Is there a Productivity Wizard download available that is not a 90 day evaluation? Any other information would be appreciated.

SAP xMII Content Generation Wizard login problem

Hi,
I installed content generation wizard.
after starting it ask login information.I used login information below:
Web Server: ServerName
username : administrator
password:xxxxxxxxxx
it does not accept and gives message below.
Error in credentials-Login unsuccessful.
Administrator password is correct.I tested it logins MII easyly.
How can i solve this problem?

The easiest way is to make a link in the xMII portal for your page this way it's available when you login into xMII.
To do this please follow this:
From the xMII portal:
click..."Portal Services" menu item
click..."Navigation" submenu item...a new screen will come up
From the "Navigation" popup select the role you would like the page available for....if it's for testing just pick "Everyone" to make it easy.
In the first pane called "Navigation Tree" you can create your menu strucutre or simply enter the link directly.
Click "Add" in the "Navigation Tree" pane....a popup will come up.
Enter the name for your page
Click the "...Files" button and navigate and select your page from the webroot.
Click "OK"....click "SAVE"
Go back to the main portal page and click the "Refresh" link at the top right of the xMII portal page.
Your new page link will appear in the left navigation tree.

You may need to register the DWWizardGUI.dll. Here is a snippet from the help documentation:
If selecting SAP xMII Object does not display the plug-in, open a command prompt and type "cd\Lighthammer\Illuminator\Wizards" to navigate to the folder where the DLLs are located. Then type "regsvr32 IllumDWWizardGUI.dll" which should register the dll. Dreamweaver should then prompt you for the SAP xMII server name or internet protocol (IP) address (it defaults to localhost) when calling up the plug-in; this is similar to the standalone version of the plug-in.
I may be wrong, but as I recall, you don't have to be in any particular mode to use the plugin in Dreamweaver as you do in Frontpage.

XMII 11.5 Server Installation Problem

Hi all,
I have certain issues with the installations. I have installed the server, followed each step and did it successfully.
However when I go to the Menu.jsp page, It Says, PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED.
Please tell me whats wrong with the installation.
I think it still needs some post installation steps to be completed.

Right now, I'm planning to remove the xMII and J2SDK completely from the server, and then start the installation from scratch with 1.4.2_12.
Can you give me the instructions for totally removing xMII from the server. With nothing left at all.

Kai,
it is recommended that the files of MEINT and CTC are taken from the latest patch of ME 5.2.5.
After deployment of MEINT and CTC, SAPMEINT cannot be in running state because of missing the configuration which will be created after executing CTC. Please follow the steps of the latest Instrallation Guide @ SMP - it has been updated recently re this topic.

XMII 12.0: Unable to write file...

Hi all,
lately we are facing some problems using xMII. One point is that you can easily move file or folder inside the xMII 12.0 workbench because there is no confirmation popup when clicking on a folder and move it by chance.
Apparently I have moved a folder, and it seems that I produced a Catalog Server Error according to the log. Now xMII seems to be confused, because we are now getting lots of error of the kind "Unable to wirte file..." like this:
Unable to write file D:\usr\sap\MES\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\XMIIEnterpriseApplication\servlet_jsp\XMII\root\CM/Development/USER/xml/treestructure.xml
Have you already encountered such an error? Is it because of the "/" and "\" signs that are mixed inside the URL? Or could it be the Catalog Error mentioned above?

we are using xMII in combination with Adobe Flex. So xMII is going to talk to the database, and Flex as the presentation layer is calling xMII transactions to get the data.
The HTML wrapper that Flex creates and the SWF-Files are stored in the CM folder of xMII so that we can include it in the xMII Portal using the navigation wizard of xMII.
In xMII we have set up a sandbox project, so the file structure in xMII is "xMII-Root\Sandbox\Data" (Catalog) and "xMII-Root\Sandbox\WEB\Data" (Web).
When using the xMII workbench we are importing the SWF-Files into "xMII-Root\Sandbox\WEB\Data". In Flex-Builder we have set up an ant-file that deploys the SWF-Files directly into the "xMII-Root\CM\Sandbox\Data" folder after changing them. However, when only using the ant file, the copied files are gone the next day, when the WebAS restores the contents, I guess.
Using the ant files of course is much easier than using the import feature of the workbench. Maybe you can recommend a better way of deploying?

UI tools in xMII 12.X

Dear Experts,
I understand that there are various UI tools in xMII 12.x such as Dynamic page creator (HTML based) and Object Page generator (applet). If these tools are wizard based, in which instances you need HTML or Javascript to modify the UI screens.
Any limitations with out of the box UI tools. Can you please let me know the required skill for UI developer for xMII.

Who said the UI tools in MII are not sufficient? All tools have limitations (MII included) and can only do what they are developed to do, but as history has shown, application developer feature or capability ignorance or other learning on the job related issues creep into the scope of a project, and blaming the s/w is easy to do...
I would not call the Dynamic Page Generator (DPG) or Object Page Generator a UI tool, but more so a simple applet page rendering tool. You can also 'Test' a display template within the Workbench, as long as a query template has been mapped into it, which essentially behaves like the DPG, but eliminates the browsing steps to the two object necessary for the applet.
The other thread referenced above showcases how extensible MII can be and additonal ways to capitalize on the Data and Business Logic Services of MII. The additional html editing s/w packages mentioned provide WYSIWYG tools for people less experienced in developing HTML in a text editor environment.
HTML is the web page container for applets and contextual elements delivered by MII, and aside from basic html related javascript functions, javascript is used to 'talk' to the applets on the client side. Applets have events that trigger a javascript function that 'does something'.

I am trying to install, but the install wizard insists on installing on a nonexistant D:/ drive, and when i try to change it, it gives me error 2330. any ideas?

I am trying to run iTunes on a PC with Windows 8.1, but the setup wizard tells me there is no space on the D:/ drive, which makes sense, since my D:/ drive is a CD-ROM. When it gives me the option to save on a different drive, I click it, and it tells me "Error 2330" and shuts down. Error 2330 simply implies that the drive is incompatible, which makes sense but isn't helpful. I even tried disconnecting the CD-ROM but that didn't change anything.
It is very odd that I have had iTunes on this computer for over seven months, and this problem didn't begin until after I attempted to install the latest update. It failed to install the update, and from then on I couldn't open iTunes at all. Has anyone else seen this issue or know what I can do?

Dunning wizard

Hi all,
I'm starting to use Dunning Wizard and I'm having a problem in step 5 (Recomendation Report).
In Dunning Term and in Dunning Letter Method i want "One letter per BP". Also I have selected "Apply Letter Template by Highest Level ". In Dunning Levels, I have 3 Letter templates.
I'm testing only with two costumers.
When I reach step 5 I have costumer1 with 3 Invoices and Costumer2 with 1 invoice.
I want to use Letter number 2 in both costumers. In Costumer1 I enter 2 Print Preview and no problem. Letter number 2 is printed.
In costumer2 i also enter 2 but in Print Preview letter number 1 is printed. I want letter number 2.
If the costumer has more than 1 document what I enter in the Level field is what I get in Print Preview. If the costumer has only 1 document what I enter in Level field is ignored and always letter number 1 is printed.
I think that it's not correct.
Does anybody now some workaround?

I don't understand this logic.
In costumer1 I have 3 Invoices and the highest level is 1. If I change to 2, this indicates that I want to print the Letter number 2, SAP B1 changes this to the Highest Level and prints letter number 2.
In costumer2 I also want to print letter number 2 but SAP B1 doesn't let me because I only have 1 document. I think this isn't correct.
I want to print letter number 2 for costumer2.

Error while adding a attribute to the the Custom view through a wizard

Hi ,
I have created a new custom view with value node through wizard succesfully.
Now I want to add a new attribute to that node.I am trying to do that by a wizard.
But i am getting the follwing error " Error during analysis of Source Code" although i have
commented or removed my all custom code from that view.
I tried adding the new aattributes in the metthods "IF_BSP_MODEL~INIT " and
"GET_TABLE_LINE_SAMPLE " manually but that also does not worked.
Plz help me with this asap.

Hi Sharad,
I hope all your classes are active. In case you want to add a new attribute there are two steps.
1.Right click on context node and create attribute, it opens a wizard and continue. This will add the field in the context node and generate the getter-setter methods.
2. In the above two method whcih you mentioned add the new field in the structure of value node. And then create your own getter-setter methods. and activate it. After this you will be able to see the attribute added in the context node.
By using any of the two approaches you will be able to see teh new field in the configuration.
