XML appearing in email

I sent an email the other day, but now I notice the characters '<?xml' are appearing at the end of the last line of my email. I didn't type those characters when I was composing the email, yet they're showing as if I did.
I decided to load the email into a text editor (TextWrangler) and selected the option to display XML, but as far as I can see all lines of XML are properly contained within the '<>' characters and therefore should be interpreted as XML code.
The line of XML containing the offending characters immediately follows the text body of my email and appears in the text editor as:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
As can be seen the XML code is properly enclosed, yet it appears Mail, for some reason, is seeing the line as if it were:
<?xml<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Thus interpreting the first five characters as part of the text body of the email. I tried to be clever by removing the '<?xml' characters from the line and even retyping the line, but when I save and rebuild the Sent mailbox the '<?xml' characters still persist in appearing at the end of my email.
Can anyone expert on XML and Mail help me out?

Hi,
I am new to Oracle bursting, As per the requirement i need to send a email through XML publisher bursting (email will be having attachment of report output in excel format), Following error message i am getting while running bursting program, XML Publisher Report Bursting Program. Problem in attaching a xml file in Email Notification

Hi,
I am new to BPEL. I am using 10.1.3.4 Jdev. Facing a problem in attaching a xml file in Email Notification process. I do not get any email when ever the attachment is a xml. Whereas when the attachment is a pdf, i get the pdf in the mail. I have put the mime type as text/xml. Used ora:doc() to read the xml. Dont know what i am missing. Please help me out. Thanks.

Newly added OAF region is shown in Worklist but not appearing in Email...

Hi,
We have a very serious issue in our applications. We have customized Requisition Approval workflow and in the Requisition approval notificaiton, added one extra OA Framework region attribute. The region fetches some value from a custom table and renders it. This region is perfectly alright when seen from the worklist. But the email that is sent for the same notification, the region is not appearing !
We have checked a lot but unable to find what we are missing here. If it is a problem with the region, then it shouldn't appear in worklist too. The strange thing is that this was working (region was appearing in email) in one instance. When the same code were moved to another instance, it is not working (region is shown only in worklist). Please help me as this is very urgent for us.

OK, there is other way to check.
1) Take the notification framework region URL from the Workflow Mailer log ( log should be STATEMENT level)
2) and copy / paste same URL in a web Browser ( you may login as SYSADMIN user)
3) and see if newly added region comes?
Just check if you bounced the iAS after apply the changes on that instance.

Non UTF-8 xml file by Email channel

Hi there,
I am sending an US-ASCII xml file content to B2B receiver. b2b does not identify the doc and gives doc identification error. The issue is the encoding is not mentioned in the xml.
It works if i send it as UTF-8 or specify the encoding in the xml file (<?xml version="1.0" encoding="US-ASCII" ?>)
My que is:
Is it possible for b2b to read an us-ascii xml file over email channel, and identify the associated custom document when the encoding is not configured in the xml file. ?
Is changing the tip.properties as racle.tip.adapter.b2b.encoding = Characterset Name will work? Also wondering where is tip.prop file in 11g?
Can you help me with a solution for this?

In 11g, there is no such file. Few of the properties are part of the product in 11g and rest of them can be set using B2B system parameters in Administration --> Configuration tab. Outlook notification appears before email arrives in inbox

issue we have with a couple of folks, outlook notification appears before email arrives in inbox. any idea why this happens?
if they click on the inbox, then click on another folder, then click back on the inbox, they email shows up. users are getting frustrated. I cant find anything wrong.

Are the users using any rules? Temporarily disable all rules in Outlook to check if the problem persists.
You can also use Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if this is 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
For Exchange Accounts, please switch to Exchange Online mode to check the result.
In addition, if you are using Remote Desktop Service, this problem may also be caused by the performance delay, try to optimize the RDS performance, check the result again:

Form link does not appear in email notification
We have added a custom notification to the OM workflow process. The notification itself has a form attribute which provides a link to the sales order form. This works fine when notification is viewed via worklist - notifications within apps. The link does not appear in the email notification.
Is there any alternate way to provide a form link to Oracle Applications form that can be accessed via email (after logging into application, if the user is not logged in).

Similar functionality is available in PO and Req Approval process. Can you take a look at the PO Approval Process workflow? I remember the email notification does show the link, which is a URL link and has parameters in it. This functonality provides where the approvers need to modify the document which is requested to be approved. So they can click on the link, modify and close and approve if necessary.
Are you expecting them to modify the same or you just want to show query only screen?
There is a webpage available to see order information called Order Information (user Order Information User resp). You can send parameters to that webpage and that should show login page opening up a seperate session with all the parameters in the URL. Once logged in that should show order information.

Sending an encrypted XML to an email adress with specific certificate

Hi,
I want to create a form that has a submit button which sends an encrypted xml to an e-mail adress..
In the Encryption Settings of the button I can specify the certificate that should be used (.cer -File).
But when I click on the submit button a window appears to choose the Digitale Signature although I already specified it in the Encryption Settings. In addition, if I click 'cancel' or 'OK' there, another window appears and I'm asked to choose the recipient.. But I specified both, signature and recipient, in the Settings of the button in Adobe LiveCycle Designer..
What can I do so that these windows do not appear?

The problem is, that everyones outlook is configured to do that. The only reason why this is so, is that everyone can send from his internal and external adress, here is an example:
Exchange: [email protected]
Pop3: [email protected]
So the only reason why its configured like that (i dont like this configuration too, but it looked like here when i started to work in my company) is to send from two differnt senders.
So is the problem solved, if i configure two different profiles to enter the one for normal sending (selected when outlook starts) and the other if id like to send delayed mails ?

I figured it out
in your select if you want to group your output by say Organization_id change your select in your burst file to the following

I select photo from iPhoto,go to share:email, photo uploaded to email, type in address, click send, pop up window appears with: email did not go thru because server did not reply - now what, how do I fix?

I select my photos from iPhoto, go to toolbar, click share and email, photo is uploaded onto email screen and I add photo info and type in my
email address, click send at the bottom of page and it after a minute or two, a pop up appears with the message: your email did not go through
because your server did not reply. Have sent the same photo to my email address with no problem just to doublecheck. Why will it not
send out to other email addresses? Thank you.

Go into iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete the email account that's there. Now add it back and try again.
A more reliable method is to set Mail as the email Client for iPhoto in iPhoto's General preference pane. The Mail client is more reliable, gives you better access to your Contacts, gives you a sent copy and has photo themes similar to iPhoto's in its stationary section.

How to get signature to appear in email replies

Hello Each,
I use Mac Mail - and can send around 80 emails a day sometimes. Rather than always having to select a particular signature for my replies - is there a way that I don't have to select a signature - and for it to appear automatically?
I have checked the preferences and there is not a check box to 'include signature in reply'.
Any thoughts please?

In the Signatures preference pane, there is a drop-down menu for "Choose Signature." Use it to select the signature that you would like to make the default, and it will apply automatically to any email you send, new or reply.

Form suddenly returning xml file via email instead of pdf

I've got a form online that has been working the way I wanted for at least several months which is to send a completed pdf form (job application)as an attachment via email. Now I just received an email with an xml file instead of the pdf file. When I go to the website and test the online form it sends it as a pdf. So what could have caused one specific form to come back as an xml file? Could it be the type of browser, lack of Reader? Thanks for any assistance.

I know I set up the form with the extended reader rights, I would guess that both reader and acrobat were being utilized for this form. It seems strange to me that out of the blue the form sent in this manner if the permissions haven't been modified since it was setup nearly 6 months ago. Thanks for the feedback!

Approve/Reject button not appearing in Email , but present in the notificat

Hello Friends,
I am using Po requisition Approval workflow in iProcurement for PR approval.
One strange thing is happening , that in approval emails Approve/Reject button are not appearing but the same are present in the notification.
Moreover , some people are getting emails, others are not.
We have just started setting up the instance for the design prototype , so might be we are missing some setup/steps.
Please suggest , what steps i am missing. Thanks !!!

Verify that the email preference for the users is not "disabled"
Have the user login and go to the preferences link at the top.
OR

Text of pdf, but no pdf icon appears in email

I have received an email on my iPad with a pdf attachment. When I open the email, the whole text of the pdf appears in the body of the email, but there is no attachment icon anywhere to allow me to open the pdf and print it or send it to iBooks. Is there some way to get that pdf icon to show up?

This is because it is only a single paged document. Press down in the middle of it for a prompt box to open and take it from there!

First Name Only Appears In Email

I have a person who emails me, and she has the same first name as several other persons who email me, but her last never appears in the From tab, so it is hard to search for her emails. Her full name appears in the actual email. What gives?

It's either something w/her email account is setup on her computer or it's how you have her entered in your address book.
