XML data source from Java application

Hello everyone,
I want to use BI Publisher reports from my Java application.
1. I have generated xml from database query in Java application.
2. I have created BIP template sampleReport.rtf
3. I need to generate PDF report using sampleReport.rtf and generated xml data source.
How this (step 3) can be achieved using BI publisher web service? If someone has sample code, this would be great.

How to take XML data source from URL?

I creating application which need to download some data from any web page. This page is creating via XSL (as stylesheet) .This XSL
process some XML "data source" and generate HTML page. I wanna ask if exist some way how to take this XML "data source"? If i used
URL and take InputStream I everytime obtain full generated HTML, JavaScript page - compiled by web browser. But if i look to "page
source" of this page in web browser i see just that XML data source which i need to take (only at start of this xml is way to xsl

At this url [http://eu.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=33677] is web page. If you look at "page source", web page is create via XML and XSLT. I need load this data source. I used DOMParser for that:

If i used it at another page (for example [http://www.w3schools.com/XML/simplexsl.xml|http://www.w3schools.com/XML/simplexsl.xml] ), compile was successful and i can work with this XMLDocument and etc.
I try load it by InputStreamReader too:

How to create a report using XML data source from Crystal Report Designer

Hi,
Iu2019m having Crystal Report Designer XI R2 SP4. Iu2019m trying to create a report using XML data source stored on disk. This is a customer order report and the xml is structured in such a way that it has an order details header part (master) and then it has several order lines (detail). One order line can have several order line characteristics (detail-detail). So what I need to know is now I can design this layout from the designer. If this was done using views I can do it with sub-reports but using xml data this seems to be different. Can you help me to design this layout? I have included the xml and xsd as well.

Thank you for the response and ideas you have given me so far. I can get the fetch the data from the data source without any problem. That is I do the following,
1.     New Report
2.     From Create New Connection-> XML
3.     Provide the u201CLocal XML Fileu201D and have u201CSpecify Schema Fileu201D checked -> Next
4.     Provide the u201CLocal Schema Fileu201D -> Finish
Then I can see the following under XML

For this point onwards only I need help. How do I group, add fields and design the layout so I can get an report output as follows.

How to accesss the XDO Reports from Java application?
I am wondering that we need to get the URL for accessing the report and call the URL with in Java program?
Is that right? Is there any other option? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to write some class based on the BI Publisher APIs taking data, template, output format, etc.

Since your are using process order, I would like to know whether you are using process management function or not.
(Especially your are following GMP scenario ? This guide line is basically used pharmaceutical industry.
If you work with GMP scenario, before your are archiving your process order, you need to create electronic batch creation and archiving.
Then you can archive your process order and delete it completely from your system.
You can check whether your are using GMP scenario or not in your process order type.
(T-CD COR4).
If you are not. All you need to do is set deletion flag and deletion indicator to your process order and then archive your process order (you can use program PRARCHP1) by using archiving object PR_ORDER (you can call this object from t-cd sara or COAC).

9iAS: Programmatically change data source for Java/J2ee bc4j application

Background: We obtain a copy of our customer's live data daily for support issues. We'd like to be able to keep up to date as possible and get files early in the morning. due to the size of the database, it takes a few hours to download and import into our Oracle database. what I'd like to do is use two different schemas/users for the data, alternating on each day so that the loading of one, does not affect the running of the other. To make this seamless, I'd like to have a script perform the changes after the download and restart the server. The issue is how/where to change the data source so that my application will pick it up each time? I'm using an application specific data source from EM.

If it is intended to be accessible from Reports servlet then you can use "ssoconn" command line option where by the user name and password is stored in OID (Oracle Internet Directory)

I am planning to use data source in the application , but there is an issue facing while running with data source.

So I used "Weblogic.jar" once and "wlfullclient.jar" . By using one of these jars issue fixed but because of it while loading the application it is throwing the below error .

For this I observed that solution is removing the wlfullcient.jar or weblogic.jar from the libraries. But If I do not use any one of them then data source does not work. Please guide me with your suggestions.

This is configured in your database access layer - if it is using ADF BC then in the Application Module go to the configuration tab and edit the local configuration to see the information about which DB you are accessing.

Create Report with CR4E and XML Data Source

Hi all,
I have a problem when create a report with CR4E that should use a XML data source. It is not possible to choose fields from the field explorer, because ther are no fields from the XML-file. Is there a general problem when using an ODA data source in CR4E? At the moment I can only create reports with a database as data source.
Please help me with a tip.

After Installing CR4E Version 2 the code snippet for creating a XML-report not works as JSP. Has anywhere a hint to resolve the problem or a complete JSP-file?

JRC and XML Data Source

Hi!
Does the JRC execute a report with an XML data source (URL XML Http and URL XSD Http) ?
If yes, does the JRC change programmatically the XML data source (URL XML Http and URL XSD Http) prior to execute the report?
There is an example to do this?

and i've use the "JRC_Display_Connection_Info"on a xml to display all of the properties.
After i've make a program for change the datasource in the case of "xml http" database.

But i don't know why if i call:

XML data source - Performance problem

Environment - Crystal Reports 2008 , crjava-runtime_12.2.200 jar files, Java 1.5 and XML data source
We are generating reports from our java application. .rpt file is designed using CR 2008 .
The problem we have is its taking longer time to generate a report. Atleast its taking 5-6 minutes. XML file size is around 300 KB. .rpt file size is 2000 KB.
Steps involved in report generation in Java program.
1. Creating ReportClientDocument.
2.Opening ReportClientDocument( reportClientDocument.Open())
3. constructing XML datasource IXMLDataSet(xml_ds). ( setting XML and XSD)
4. setting the datasource to database controller. -- reportClientDocument.getDatabaseController().setDataSource(xml_ds, "", "")
5. then exporting the report in pdf format.
I don't know what I am doing wrong. Please advise me to improve the performance of this function.

I figured out the cause of the problem. I am using JDeveloper as my IDE thats causing the delay. When I deployed the application and ran it, it took just 30 secs for the report using "Pushing" mechanism. Thats amazing. Thanks for your support.
I have another problem. I am not sure whether to post a separate thread for this problem. Anyway I explain the problem here. If you think it needs another thread, I will post a new one.
When I use my IDE or the following command JRC runs fine and generates the reports with graphs and all.

But when I package all these jar files in to single jar file and run the below command, it generates reports with all the features except Graphs.

Note: CERT.jar has all the application classes and library classes
I need the above command to run successfully as I am planning to use java web start for application deployment.

Xml data source limit

Hi
I've been having trouble finding information on this, but is there a limitation on the file size of the xml data produced by an apex report query?
If I download the xml data in the application builder, I'm finding once the expected xml data size goes over 32k, all I get is a file containing the xml tags but with no data.
32k seems pretty small. I was reaching this limit because I was using APEX_WEB_SERVICE.BLOB2CLOBBASE64 to send an image to my report. I would have thought even just a decent number of rows would reach this size also.
Am I missing something?

LD does indeed catch and report the mis-match at run-time as shown in the exception
below.
It does not valid the XML file against the schema at configuration time, only
at run-time. Hence Step 8 here - http://edocs/liquiddata/docs81/admin/xml.html#1035818
But beware - in some (most) cases LD does not do validation against the schema
for performance reasons. If the schema does not match you will simply get empty
results.

MapViewer with XML data source

Hello all,
We have the MapViewer read data from JDBC data source doing spatial queries. Can any one tell me if I can use XML data source as input to the MapViewer.
We have a data source that is only available thru Web services, we cannot make a database view on the schema.
If not is it planned in the production version.

How does the xml data look like? in GML?
If the xml data set is not too large, maybe you can add them (after your application has parsed them) as additional MapViewer GeoFeatures in a map request.
Currently MapViewer (preview or production release of 9.0.4) does not support xml-only datasource.
We will look into incorporating GML or other standard-based xml datasource for a future release of MapViewer.

CollapsiblePanel with XML data source

I've been working with the CollapsiblePanel for the past two
nights. I can't make the panel collapse at runtime when I have XML
data attached.
I validated by downloading one of the Adobe Lab
CollapsiblePanel samples. I validated that I could make the sample
work from my Dreamweaver CS3 environment. Then, I added an XML data
source and retested. The panel would not collapse. Then, I took out
the XML dataset and retested the CollapsiblePanel. It worked.
Is this a design feature? I can't imagine this was designed
to work this way. I'm trying to create a scrollable div that can
collapse. I have everything working except the collapse feature.
(BTW: I tried defining a spry:region and spry:detailregion, it
didn't seem to matter.)
