XML Forms - news message - send content as mail

Hi all,
our customer would like to have the possibility to send an XML forms news item by mail. Not just a mail with the link to the news item, but the content has to be displayed as HTML into the mail body.
Has anybody implemented this before or knows what would be the best way?
Perhaps an approach would be to create a new XML command that allows selection of one or two XML files and generate an e-mail?
Thanks for the help,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Here is my solution :
1. Create a UI Command named like "Send Form by E-Mail"
Here is example
Implementing Flexible UI One-Step-Screenflow
Modify this example according to your requirements.
Create a command group for your UI Command.
2. Then create a new layout set for your news items. In the resource renderer select your new command group for "Resource Command Group" and use your new Layout Set for your XML Forms.
Here is a similar example :
A Real World Example of Flexible User Interface – Part 2

Abdul.

All -
I'm new to consuming web services in JDeveloper. I'm using Oracle JDEV 10.1.3.3/OC4J. I'm using this version since it is compatible with Oracle EBS 12.1.3. My intent is to pull data from our third party recruitment app (Success Factors) and load that data into Oracle HRIS. I'm already doing this through a .NET application. I'm converting it to be a Java Concurrent Program in EBS. The code listed below is a stub call to verify I'm on the right track. I created a JDeveloper Web Services proxy project. I'm testing it locally on my windows desktop. When I'm able to consume the service successfully, then I'll think about moving it to the EBS server.
I'm getting the following error when I invoke the following service:
HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: String index out of range: -7
End point is: https://api4.successfactors.com/sfapi/v1/soap?wsdl
Any help/assistance would be much appreciated.

The other end is throwing back a programming error.
That might be because you are sending incorrect data and the other end fails to validate it.
You might be able to guess based on your C# code. But, since you are using soap one generic solution is available to you.
- Get an http proxy interceptor like wireshark.
- Run it while your C# app runs, collect the http requests from that.
- Run it while running your java code, collect the http requests from that.
Compare the two.

Setting Timeouts for Synchronous Processes
For synchronous processes that connect to a remote database, you must increase the syncMaxWaitTime timeout property in the SOA_Oracle_Home\bpel\domains\default\config\domain.xml file:
<property id="syncMaxWaitTime">

<value>60000000</value>
<comment>
The maximum time the process result receiver will wait for a
result before returning. Results from asynchronous BPEL processes are
retrieved synchronously via a receiver that will wait for a result from the
container.

The default value is 60 seconds.
</comment>
</property>
But this changes nothing...
Is this value ignored?

I found http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28981/events.htm#BABGGADB
Setting Timeouts for Synchronous Processes
For synchronous processes that connect to a remote database, you must increase the syncMaxWaitTime timeout property in the SOA_Oracle_Home\bpel\domains\default\config\domain.xml file:
<property id="syncMaxWaitTime">

<value>60000000</value>
<comment>
The maximum time the process result receiver will wait for a
result before returning. Results from asynchronous BPEL processes are
retrieved synchronously via a receiver that will wait for a result from the
container.

The default value is 60 seconds.
</comment>
</property>
But this changes nothing...
Is this value ignored?

• Mail: new message window blocks the Mail program

Hello,
When you write a new mail, the new nice interface makes the window of the new mail appear as it did on the iPad. However, this does not allow you to use the Mail program for other uses: for instance, I used to open the new mail window, and continuously switch to other received emails to re-read while typing the new one or similar.
This is not permitted anymore and the only way I found is to open a new entire mail window, which is not exactly the best solution...
Does anyone know how to make the popup window of the new email "non-blocking"?
I think this is a nice-looking feature but VERY counterproductive.
Thanks a lot,
Marco

Hi Marco,
You can send feedback to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback
As far as I am aware there is currently no way to change the new message overlay in full screen mail.

• No longer able to create a new message window in Apple Mail

Please help! When I am in Apple Mail, I am no longer able to create a new message window (Command-N), and so cannot send any mail. This just started after the most recent OS update yesterday.

Have you tried
1. clicking on the New Message icon?
2. File menu / New Message?
I am trying to figure out if your problem is because Mail is not working, or whether it is a problem elsewhere, e.g. the keyboard.

• XML forms / news - delete button

In the RenderListItem form, I did included two buttons :
- edit button to edit the news => work perfectly
- delete button to delete the news => the problem
When I click on the delete button, I receive the following message :
XML - Forms
Item /BvD-it SEPNews/Others/0056c04e-7c12-2a10-8185-c74e6f577c75.xml does not exist
but the file do exist.
When I click on the OK button (at the end of the message), the news is effectively deleted.
So this is functionnaly working, but it comes with a non relevant error message.
Thank you for your help
Vincent

Thank you Matthias,
I did add the buttons to the xml forms, not to use the FlexUI command.
This solution bette fits the layout requirements I've.
Are you sure about your statement that these buttons are no more supported ? Because I did opened an OSS message about the error, and discussion is going on, they never said it was no more supported. (Next step is to connect to our Portal)
I'll keep the Treath updated with the solution provided by SAP.
Thank you and kind regards

• HT5361 i can't resize the new message window in mac mail.

I have OS X 10.9.1 and a MacBook Air.
When i open a new message window to type an email. It opens up as big as full screen or bigger. When I try to resize the window it won't allow me to make it any smaller.
Can anyone help?

Another quick follow-up. I have several email accounts set up within Mail and have the "Bcc" field set up so I automatically get a copy of my emails in the account from which I send the message. Setting the "Bcc" to one of my accounts triggers a jump to a large message viewer window that won't resize. Then deleting that "Bcc" listing from the message doesn't fix the problem. I have to go back to a copy of the message I've sent to myself and again click the forward icon to get a window I can resize. This problem doesn't seem to occur if I paste the offending account into the "To" field of he message, only the "Bcc' field. Go figure!

• Recurring New Message Window opens in Mail

When I send a new message, another "New Message" window launches automatically. I can't figure out how to stop this from happening. There are currently no rules turned on and I'm only using on mailbox/account. Can anyone help me out?

Have you tried creating a new User Account and setting up Mail to work there to see if the problem manifests there as well? That would be an indicator of where the problem lies.
You can also try:
1. Quit Mail if it's running
2. Go to Home/Library/Preferences and removing the com.apple.mail.plist file.
3. Restart Mail and enter your account information again; Mail will automagically find your existing mailboxes. Then check to see if the problem remains.

• New messages not visible in Mail

I use Mail for all of my gmail accounts. Recently I noticed that there were no new messages appearing in the Inbox for my principle, general purpose gmail account. Furthermore, the circular array of 'rotating' grey rectangles at the right hand side of the mailboxes pane is continuously active - I understand this to mean that mail is being 'received'.
There is certainly activity and Mail is successfully logging in to the gmail mail server, but no new messages are appearing in the Inbox.
I have a large number of rules on this Mailbox, but I have deactivated the rules - there is no discernible difference, and I have checked in the local mailboxes that these rules were moving messages to - no new messages there either.
Because the source is a gmail account, I thought to simply delete the account from Mail and start again, but it appears that I cannot even do that. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Regards.
Neil

I thought to simply delete the account from Mail and start again, *but it appears that I cannot even do that.*
Why not? What is stopping you from doing so?
Try the Mail "rebuild" setting - Mail/Mailbox/Rebuild

• XML forms / news no more visible as Form-based publishing

I 've a very strange behavior on my portal (EP 7.0 SPS10),
I do publish a news via XML form => the news is displaied )
After "some time" (sorry I was not able yet to force / understand how to reporduce the error) I can not see anymore the news (and I've full permissions on the folder, this does not seems to be related to validity)
In fact the xml of the news does still exists (when I browse the folder). His type (Settings -> Properties -> System) has desapear. The news I can see have a Type = Form-based publishing.
Does anyone already experience this behaviour ?
How could I reset the property type to "Form-based publishing" ?
Thank you

Did anyone already experienced this behaviour, this becomes critical for me.

• Automator New Message/Send Mail Question

When I add these to my workflow, Mail.App opens and I can see the mail on screen. Is it possible to run this workflow and hide the window. My goal is to send the email in the background.

you can use "run applescript" action to create a new email message and run it in background. see this link on intro to Mail scripting

• New Message "Send" Button has disappeared!

i don't know how or why or when this happened, but the "Send" button on new mail messages has disappeared. I now have to use the "message" menu and select "send" from there.
any suggestions on how to get it back? I tried the view menu but no luck there!

have you tried quiting Mail and relaunching?
If that doesn't work try moving the following files to the desktop and then Logging out/ Login in.
~users/library/caches/mail
~users/library/mail/envelope index
If that works you can trash the files on your desktop.
This might cure the problem.

• E72 - New messages in subfolders in Mail for Excha...

Hi all,
I got my E72 yesterday and am quite impressed with Nokia Messaging so far (I previously used RoadSync on my N82 for syncing with our exchange server). One thing that's bugging me, though, is that when emails come in to one of my subfolders (this is the Mail for Exchange mailbox), there is no new email notification on the main screen.
Is that right? Can anything be done about this? Like most people, I filter all my work emails into subfolders, so I need to know when something appears in one of them. If I can't change this, I'll need to go back to Roadsync.
Any ideas or comments?

Your only hope lies with 3rd party software. I managed to get by on Symbian by using Roadsync, but it wasn't an ideal solution. I think they have a free trial, so you can try it to see if it works for you.
The true and final solution for me was buying an HTC Desire and installing TouchDown. It's the first time I've ever been completely happy with Exchange implementation on a phone, which is absurd - the Nokia E series has no excuse for not excelling in this area.

• SBWP message send to external mail instead of user id

Hallo,
in SBWP you can send a message to sap useres (internal) or to external users when using eMail Adress.
So we can use e.g. ADOETSCH as user id to send the message internal or a.doetsch@...... to send the message external.
What we want is to send every message to the external user adress which is maintained in SU01 for every user. But in the sending screen we want not to write the whole eMail adress. We only want to write the user name. But SAP seems not to be able to convert the user name automatically to the eMail adress. When we put in the user name and define it as external adress (INT) we get an error message.
Is it possible to customize a automatically convert between user id and the eMail adress which is defined in SU01.
Thanks
