XML Generator Tool

Hello everybody,
I am wanting to generate some XML documents (of different sizes) that conform to a given schema or DTD grammar.
Is there any tool that I can use to do this generation ?
PS. There is the IBM XML Generator but I can't found it at the web !!!

Hi,
The build.xml file should be in a directory from where
you are running the asant command.
To resolve the common.xml file not found error,
open your build.xml and check from which location the common.xml file is incuded.
In the sample application it is four directories above
the directory where build.xml is located.
You can copy the common.xml in the current directory and then change the following in your build.xml
<!ENTITY include SYSTEM "../../../../common.xml">
to <!ENTITY include SYSTEM "common.xml">

Report VS Excel output using XML Publisher tool (DBMS_XMLGEN)

Hi All,
Currently I am working on report generation in MRP module with Excel output using XML Publisher tool.
XML tool works based on query.
I have developed PLSQL block by using DBMS_XMLGEN – database package, to generate XML output of query.
My question is how we can put generated xml on above PLSQL block into OUT file (APPS).
Because DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE( ) has limitation, it allow 255 character string only.
But I do not know, Is FND_FILE.PUT_LINE (FND_FILE.OUTPUT,’’) allow for large data?
If it does not allow what will be the other solution in oracle application to resolve above problem.
Let me know any queries regarding to this problem.

Thanks for the reply. We did apply the one-off patch and got rid of the problem of not viewing 'Excel' output using XMLP.
Now we are looking at a different perspective:
Basically our client is looking for the following:
1. Mathematical functions in the resulting XLS (like SUM, AVG etc..) ouput
2. Use of macros if possible.
And to do this i am looking out for a sample template that gives me output in excel format I have a TAR with Oracle for this purpose, but the TAR has so far been unsuccessful in providing us with any material in the direction.
Our client remembers seeing this as a demo at the Oracle Conference this yr at San Fransisco, but does not have a sample to provide us. We are looking for such a sample.

Problem in XML Generator

I am facing a problem that i have created a form by XML Generator(Wizard) but after successfull complition there is User-id and Password two times and when i fill it,,it gives the error that "User-Id and Password is incorrect".
So plz tell me that which User-id and Password ll be given....

Hi Rai,
There's no need to have multiple accounts for SDN - I just don't know what you mean by "XML Generator" ... (the B1DE toolset has an internal module that generates XMLs (for menus etc) - and actually that's called "XML Generator", but I don't think that you can call it explicitly...)
...maybe you were talking about the "...UDO form generator" (a separate tool in B1DE)?
...but anyway, I suspect that the reply from Yogesh was what you were looking for?

I need to include Cdata in the xml generated from my xquery which is given below:

The output I get is XMLCDATA(C), while the desired output is <![CDATA[C]]>

Forgive me my vanity to think I can contribute by kicking doors open that are probably already wide open....I might create more confusion, but perhaps it helps some of the readers of this thread....
In general it is not such a good idea to use "string" functions to create (serialized) XML. XML tools (including Oracle XML DB) go through a lot of effort to make sure that when a "native" XML structure is serialized to a string, the XML rules are strictly obeyed (e.g. special character escaping).
Just assume e.g. that the $i/Reference from above contains something like ]]><
The resulting XML would not be valid.

Unfortunately I do not think Oracle XML DB currently implements these parts of the spec (perhaps 11g will)...leaving the OP's question unanswered.
Anyway, if going the route of serializing the XML through string functions, it is always good to realize the dangers of such an approach.

Sidecar.xml generator

Good Morning.
I present to you the sidecar.xml generator for Adobe's Digital Publishing Suite.
This tool creates the sidecar.xml file for you after you entered all metadata for each article.
You can change the order of the articles by just drag-and-drop.
It is usefull for non-subscribers to DPS, who can only re-arrange folios with the sidecar.xml method.
It is a small website at:

Works in every modern browser. It uses many JavaScript, so use a fast browser, especially if you have a lot of articles.
I use it on my own and decided to release it to the public until Adobe comes out with a new Version of the Folio Builder Panel wich will then support re-ordering.
After you added some articles and metadata, click on "Generate sidecar.xml file" to get the raw text for your file. Paste the whole xml-content into a sidecar.xml file, put into it's own folder and import the folder with the "Import Multiple Articles" method. Then the metadata from sidecar.xml is pulled into your folio.
The generator creates a unique URL each time you make a change or click "save". With this (very long URL) you can come back later to the generator to make changes to your sidecar.xml file.
Please keep in mind that I made this tool in one day for myself. There might be some glitches when deleting articles from the list, always keep an eye on your data.
Hope this is helpful for some people working on folios as non-subscribers.

The new version is not only built up from scratch, it supports a few new things
— importing any old sidecar.xml file for editing
— previewing in a simulated browse view (somehow accurate if you have "Helvetica Neue" installed)

Hi everybody,
I m new in developing web service.
I am using NetBeans IDE 4.1 EA2 for developing web service.
I have created a sample jaxrpc web service. When i build project it gives me error that:taskdef class com.sun.xml.rpc.tools.ant.Wscompile cannot be found.
This error is contain in the file build-impl.xml which is referred by build.xml file.
netbeans ide uses ant tool for compiling, building & deploying web service.
All the xml files are automatically generated by netbeans ide.
Please help me with this...

You can find it under %JWSDP_HOME%\jaxrpc\lib

UDO form generator will generate for you a B1 form in XML format starting from a UDO definition in your DB. It is included also in the VS.NET wizards for C# and VB.NET projects for B1 addons as part of the B1DE package.
You can download the B1DE package directly from SDN under "Business One SDK tools" section in the B1 SDN home page.

The XML generated by the Lotus servlet component is not well formed

While integrating EP7 to Lotus Domino 7 we are facing some problem with XML parser.
We have following configuration
EP7 SP 13
Lotus Domino 7
All configurations related to SSO are done. SSO is working fine.
All transports are created properly. All services active
Please suggest some solution

XML authoring tool

Hi, I was wondering if anybody has any advice on a good XML authoring tool. I plan to use java help and need a suitable authoring tool to generate the XML help files.
A requirement is that the software is able to print off a user guide outlining all features detailed in the help.
Any advice is appreciated.

XMLSpy and the other Altova products are more XML editors and tools, whereas my understanding is that XML authoring refers to something more like a word processor that builds narrative, mixed-content XML documents, primarily for single-source publishing.
If you're looking for the Rolls Royce of XML authoring tools, try Adobe's FrameMaker 7.x. It has all the features and more of an industrial-strength word processor along with all sorts of structured-authoring support. It might be considered a little expensive, but it's well worth the cost.
Single-source is the key. With FrameMaker you'd be able to create a single help document that could be retasked to be your hardcopy manual, on-line help, or web-site text.

Xml oracle tool

Is there any configurable tool that can take XML in, apply business rules and then call PL/SQL procedures at the back end.

To ways might help:
You can use the Oracle DB Adapter XML Modeling tools to map between the XSDs and the data model in the Oracle Database (I assume it is a set of relational tabels). In the mapping, you will find if certain field names are inconsistent.
Or you can generate XML schemas from the data model in the Oracle Database using DBMS_XMLSchema and compare the XSD with your defined XSD using Oracle XDK XML Diff.

Unable to generate output due to huge xml generated

Hello All,
I am working on etext templates for generating EFT payments.
When the payments are below 100 then the output is fine. But when it is crossing 100 payments then it is not producing any output.
This is a standard rtf which I have modified and added some xpath conditions in the OutboundPayment table. I think because of xpath conditions the xml structure is modified internally and the xml generated is very huge.
When I have used the original rtf without adding any conditions the output is produced for any number of payments.
Can any one provide some help on this.

Hello experts,
I have problem with generation of XML stack file for ERP Enhancement Package 4.
I get warning message "No XML generated" in Maintenance Optimizer on the step 2.2 (Select OS/DB-Dependent Files)
I get this message for Enhancement Package 4 only. For others products (like Stack 15 or EhP3) all ok.
I have Solution Manager 7.0 with EhP1, SP stack 19.

1. Remove existing logical components of Java in SMSY
2. Import the current data into SLD
3. Create new logical components for Java in SMSY
4. Try to load EhP4
