XML import issues in CS5.5, but not CS5...

Hi guys,
I'm currently using the Production Premium CS5.5, and have been trying to import an XML from Final Cut Pro 7 into Premiere. The issue is that none of my audio tracks appear in the sequence, nor any video tracks aside from my 2 main tracks.
This isn't a problem in the previous version (CS5), as I can import the same XML and all my audio tracks, etc. show up in the sequence.
Since I just started playing with CS5.5, I'm wondering if there's something I don't have set up properly? Is there a conflict w/ having CS5 and 5.5 installed? Has anyone else encountered a similar issue?

So, I started figuring out what the issue is, but not how to fix it:
I had some overlay graphics (Quicktimes w/ Alphas) that were placed over my main video track, which I suppose Premiere doesn't like.
The thing I can't figure out, is why I could still bring in the rest of the project with CS5, but not CS5.5.....

After updating to V 15.0 I have the issue that suddenly many but not all of the functions do not work anymore. Menues and download links do not work.

What I wanted to say that you won't get information from VAV about billing since as far as I know it doesn't contain any relevant table.
You should try create a query using LIKP-LIPS-(joint type: left outer)-VBRK. This will connect deliveries to billing document, you can also get SO number. Please try this.
(Sorrowully I don't know which logical database would be good for you)

JSP Issue in 9.1 but not 8.1

I am building a Web application and packaging it into an EAR file then deploying it into 9.1 WebLogic server. I have an issue that is happening when I activate the changes at deployment time but this one is when it's trying to compile the JSP code, as follows:

[SOLVED] Unrelated Issue - AUR PKGBUILD updated, but not 'pkg'.tar.gz

Hi all,
I noticed that qbzr had become unmaintained and in fact wouldn't install via the AUR PKGBUILD file as the source download link had become obsolete.
I took ownership of the package, then downloaded, updated, targz'd and submitted the new archive. However, it still doesn't seem to be quite right.
If I download the PKGBUILD , I can now makepkg and then pacman -U without trouble. (v0.18)
However, using yaourt - yaourt gets the version info etc from the PKGBUILD file I think, as it displays the intended version correctly (0.18). However it then downloads qbzr.tzr.gz, within which is the PKGBUILD file of version (0.16).
I feel I must have missed something, but I can't figure out how when I submitted qbzr.tar.gz AUR was able to correctly extract the PKGBUILD file for display but not provide the correct qbzr.tar.gz
Perhaps there is a lag in file propagation that I have been previously unaware of?

there's nothing wrong with the tarball, so i'm not sure why you think it's not an issue/bug/problem/etc with yaourt..

Yahoo Mail issue, able to recieve but not send.

I sold my friend my Macbookpro running 10.5.3 and he is able to receive emails but not send them even though the MBP makes the sound like the email was sent. Yahoo says they are not reaching their server. I told him to repair disk permissions which may be a long shot and if that did not work to add a new user account and re setup the email account over again and see if they go out from there. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I know I have had this issue before but it was just because my outgoing mail server was not typed in properly.
He says everything is correct. Could it be a port issue?

Sending is the SMTP path, which is the one that nobody new to mail can find — mail uses POP or IMAP for receiving, and SMTP for sending, and there are separate settings, servers and login credentials for each. To get to the SMTP settings, Mail > Preferences > Accounts > select the failing account > Account Information > select Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) to Edit Mail Server List > select the SMTP account > verify the settings for the server, that SSL/TLS is enabled (usually) or not (rare), and that your username and password are correct. Like the POP or IMAP settings, these SMTP settings and credentials are also specific to your mail ISP, which means I don't know exactly what the required settings are here.
With the way that mail pops up that infernal "do you want to cause yourself grief by changing your password?" dialog box on transient network errors, it's very easy to get an incorrect password set, too.
I'm not sure why you've listed web server, Linux, Apache and PHP in your posting.

I can import presets in LR 4, but not LR 5. Any advice?

I can import presets into LR 4, but I cannot import into LR 5. If I right click on "User Presets" nothing happens. If I go to "preferences" and try to load from there, nothing will load.

You normally copy the lrtemplate file directly into the user presets folder
If you click the button in preferences (presets tab) “Show Lightroom Presets Folder” it will take you to the folder location.
Double click on Lightroom folder
Double click on Develop Presets folder
You should now see the User Presets folder – you can copy or drag into this.
If LR is still running, quit and restart.

Avi file imports into Premiere CS5.5 but not CS6

I'm trying to move a project from CS5.5 to CS6. I have several SD avi files that CS6 says can't be imported because they're "damaged or un-supported". After several experiments I found -
1) The existing CS5.5 project works fine.
2) A new CS5.5 project can import the files that fail in CS6.
3) The files play fine in Windows Media Player.
4) Removing Media Cache and Preview files had no effect on the issue.
I'm running Premiere 6.0.3 (most recent Cloud version) on 64-bit Windows 7.

Some JPG and AVI files imported from camera to iphoto, but not all

I just imported from camera to iPhoto using card reader and half the pics and a couple movies came over. The rest aren't recognized by my iMac, even though they say JPG and AVI and still run fine on camera. I installed Perian plugin a while back at the recommendation of one of you, which solved that problem and I just installed the recent update. I used time machine to restore old version, but that didn't work. I don't know if this is a Quicktime (v 7.4.1) issue or a problem with the flashcard. I tried opening via photoshop and iMovie. Photoshop CS3's message says "Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found." iMovie, when I try to drag movie into it says "The file could not be imported: ... Quicktime couldn't parse it: -2048". Hopefully one of you knows what is going on. Thanks!!!

Are you running a "referenced" or "managed" library?
Give this a try:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.
4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
5 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

CDs import OK to iTunes Windows but not to iTunes MacOS! I have had 3 successive audio CDs with the same problem. They have exactly 20 tracks each, and track 19 claims to be over 14 hours long, and track 20 over 1 hour long. Any clues?

I have an ageing (2006) iMac running OS 10.6.8 with an external LG CD/DVD writer (I've worn out the internal one). I am not sure whether this is an iTunes issue or a LG issue.
Incident 1: importing a CD with 71 short tracks via iTunes. Track 24 is listed as 25 seconds long, but (on the first attempt) only the first 10 seconds actually import. I spotted it immediately as it also blacked out the artwork and refused to let me paste the artwork back in. A second attempt at the import worked correctly. ** SOLVED AT 2ND ATTEMPT **
Incident 2: importing a CD with 20 tracks averaging a little over 3 minutes each. Gracenote did not recognise the disc. The first 18 tracks showed reasonable track lengths, but track 19 showed 14 hours 43 minutes 21 seconds [!] and track 20 showed over 1 hour [possibly track 20 was showing the length of the entire CD]. The remaining 2 tracks were successfully imported into my other iTunes on a Windows XP machine (where Gracenote *did* recognise the CD) and transferred to the Mac over my internal network. The next 2 CDs also had exactly 20 tracks each, and also had track 19 showing 14 hours 43 minutes and a few seconds (not quite the same as the original track 19, but close...) and track 20 showing over 1 hour [again possibly the length of the entire CD].
I tried "Get album artwork" on one of the early tracks of one of the CDs, and it came back with an error "Invalid TOC" - this looks to me like the table of contents is getting corrupted (hence the bizarre track lengths reported, and hence Gracenote not recognising the resulting bizarre profile) when there are exactly 20 tracks on the CD.
But a CD with 21 tracks looks OK, and so does a CD with 8 tracks.
I'm putting this one down as ** SOLVED BY USING ITUNES ON WIN-XP AND TRANSFERRING FILES BETWEEN MACHINES ** but I would like to know what is going on!

At the lower bitrates that were popular several years ago, like 128, AAC provides better audio quality than MP3. At some point ( the dbPoweramp experts believe it is 160 ) the advantage disappears, and above that AAC and MP3 are sonically equivalent. However, MP3 still enjoys a huge advantage in acceptance and compatibility across multiple players, programs, and phones.
In any case, it hardly appears to be worth the trouble to re-rip your CDs. But don't discard them either!

XML Audio Issue - brings in 1A and not 2A

Background,
We aquired all our media for a project and placed it in a FCP7 project file Prores HD101825P. No edits, just clips in the browser.
then we exported an XML Version 1 so that we could move all the clips and bins over to a G5 to log everything using FCP6 (Our offline suite).
when we imported the XML into FCP6 it only brings in the clips with 1 track of audio and not 2! And now we have logged the footage into bins.
We have double checked our original FCP7 project and the source media and everything here contains 2 tracks of mono audio.
Can anyone help as to how we can reconnect 2 tracks of audio in the FCP6 project?
We tried taking the clips offline and then reconnecting them but this does not change anything.
can anyone advise how we get the the 2nd audio track reconnected in the browser please?

Make a clip offline (Shift D >> Leave Them on the Disk), then change the clip settings (Modify menu > Clip Settings) to properly reflect that it has 2 chnnels of dual mono audio, then reconnect ... if that works fine then you should be able to do it en masse for all the other clips

XD CAM XML IMPORT ISSUE Deadline, please?

Hi, tried to avoid the board, but have looking for hours.
Tonight I received a project on an external for a project cut in XDCAM 1080p 30. As I'm on a lower version of FCP (5), I had the editor include an XML file of the cut project. I'll just be doing color correction within FCP.
I've installed every codec plugin I can find for XDcam (the initial one time install as well as transfer plugins, and even a Perian component and still... CODEC NOT SUPPORTED, hardware etc. I've worked in 1080p before, on my G5 dual 2.0, 256 mb video card, 4gb, without issue, but it's late and I'm almost out of coffee. Pretty stressed, time crunch. Was hoping someone had an answer.
Is it the XML? ...It's pretty late in the game to do an offline of the scratch, and I understand the color space or gamma might be different.

XDCAM comes in a variety of flavors .. at HD resolutions you're looking at XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX and XDCAM HD 422
FCP's support for those different flavors was introduced as the formats were introduced and hence are or are not implemented depending on your version of FCP
XDCAM HD support was available as of FCP 5.1.2
XDCAM EX support became available as of FCP 6.0.2
and XDCAM HD 422 support was introduced with FCP 6.0.3
I'm guessing you've got the popular XDCAM EX variant .. which means you need an upgrade (btw $299 for FCP7 = great deal)

Connection issues with one computer - but not any other computer or iphone

I have a strange problem…. well, really it is my friends/co-workers problem, but I am his sponsor so I feel I need to be there for him.
We are both school teachers - and to help us in the eduction of our students we have created a wireless network (hidden so we don’t get caught!) that we can use in our area of the building. We have had it for several years and we have both hooked up to it regularly using our laptops and our ipod touch/iphone. Just recently my co-workers computer stopped being able to access the internet through the airport. We checked the settings, threw out the settings and re-entered them. Turned off the airport, turned it back on - typed in the network settings, connected - but no internet. We ran disk utility and repaired disk permissions. We have even gone as far as to create a new user…. still no luck. I have shut down and restarted the airport at school, still the issue remains.
He can see the shared disk attached to the airport, he sees my itunes library, I see his - and the rest of the teachers in the school see both of ours (we are music teachers, so our libraries are rather extensive!) and are constantly listening to our shared libraries. We know he is connected to the network, he just cannot access the internet. However, when he plugs in to the network (same settings) via ethernet - there is no problem he gets right into the network.
We both have airports at home - and we both have no problems connecting at home.
There are only two things that have happened since we noticed this problem… 1) is Snow Leopard - we believe the problem started AFTER that upgrade. and 2) we just got a new iMac Lab (I am teaching a new class - Audio Engineering this year) and in the lab I put a legal Airport - but that one IS NOT connected to the school network at all - it just allows all of the iMacs to access the shared hard drive (easier than running cable). This airport (new one - two channel) sits between his office and the old airport (single channel) that we use to access the internet and school network. I don’t think this is the problem as I have turned off the “new” airport and the problem remains.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Iphoto imported photos from my ipad but not from the "photo stream"- why?

I'm trying to get all files off my brother's old ipad before restoring it. I imported photos onto my computer using iphoto, but it didn't import the photos in the "photostream" on the ipad- why not? I saw that iphoto will only import photos that were taken on the ipad but I'm pretty certain these were. Thank you.

Let me try and explain it this way.
Say I have taken ten pictures, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
These were imported to iPhoto and went into an event it created called June 2013 Photostream. They were all imported and showed up in order 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
Some of them I have now tagged faces in etc.
When I go back now and look in the June 2013 Photostream I only see 1,3,4,5,6,9,10
But if I look in the last 12 months album I still see 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 in the right place and the right order
Pictures 5,6,7,8 all had my face tagged and when I look in my face album 5,6,7,8 all show in the right place in the right order.
I have got iPhoto to rebuild the library etc and they do not go back to showing in the Photostream import folder.
