XML output from Repostiory Reports

Hi,
Any ideas why the table definition report (cktci.rdf) data from the Repository Reports cannot be generated to XML?
I'm running Designer ver. 9.0.2.91.9, Reports ver. 9.0.2.0.3 . XML is not on the destination format list in Repository Reports, but if you type in xml, the DESFORMAT parameter is correctly set to it. However, only part of the data model is output to the xml file:

The biggest problem is that the main group G_APP from the report definition is not generated to XML, in spite of its parameter "Exclude from XML Output" being set to No. Any ideas why this happens?
Regards,
Tomasz

hello,
you can specify the look of the XML tags in the "XML Settings" property of the respective field. so let's say your datamodel has the colun called NAME then by default the xml tag would look soemthing like this
<NAME>this is the value </NAME>
now if you set the value for the
"XML Tag" property and the "XML Tag Attributes" property to e.g. facet and name="his-name"> (the * is just to terminate the the values in this text) the generated XML tag would look something like
<facet name="his-name">name="his-name"></facet>
columns that are not in the datamodel (like i asume you mean by <stuff> and <futurestuff> you can create by adding formula columns into your datamodel. formula columns have the same "XML settings" section in their property sheet and can be modified accordingly.
hope this is what you are looking for.
thanks,
ph.

  • Build Reports from XML output from Reports

    Hi,
    I was just wondering if it is possible to build reports from output in XML format, originally generated by Oracle Reports.
    The XML output produced by Reports is stored in a database for further processing.
    TIA
    Hien

    Hi Hien
    If I have understood this right, you need to create report in XML format from an XML Report Definition File. From the Builder, Generate to File from the File menu and choose XML format for the output.
    Remember that XML output from Reports is Data driven and faithfully reproduces the Data Model. It is NOT layout driven.

  • Controlling XML Output from a Crystal Report

    Hi guys,
    I need to provide an XML output from one of my reports. The customer has defined his schema and I have tried to implement it using the 'XML Expert" With reference to the two snippets below:
    this is what I want:
    <DEPADDR>ZBTJ</DEPADDR>
        <ACFTYPE>EMB145</ACFTYPE>
    and this is what I get:
    <DEPADDR FieldName="{@DEPADDR}">ZBTJ</DEPADDR>
        <ACFTYPE FieldName="{@ACFTYPE}">EMB145</ACFTYPE>
    Does anyone know how to suppress "FieldName="{@DEPADDR}"" from the output? In the XML Expert Dialog both the name, which prints, and the type, which doesn't, are greyed out so you can't do anything with them. There is a "Suppress XML  Tag" tick box but that seems to have no effect on what is included in the export.
    Thanks in advance
    Richard

  • How I could generate an XML file from a report in version 4.0B

    Good morning,
    How could I generate an XML file from a report? Please note that I am using version 4.0B

    Billy Vital

    Hi,
            In the Class CL_XML_DOCUMENT,
                 we have a method  EXPORT_TO_FILE to download an XML file.

  • EBS: Email XML publisher output, from After Report Trigger in Data Template

    Here is what I'm trying to do:
    -- In EBS (11.5.10 CU2), I'm using XML publisher (5.6.2) data template and layout template to generate Output files (PDF, EXCEL etc)
    --In the Data Template's AfterReport Trigger, I'm using the Concurrent Request Id to locate the Output file name and trying to Email that output file.
    Problem:
    -- When the AfterReport trigger code is executed, the code is NOT seeing the output file and hence the file is NOT emailed.
    Observations/Questions:
    -- From what I observe, the Output Post Processor ( that generates the Excel / PDF files) is running AFTER the code in AfterReport trigger... and hence the AfterReport trigger is Not quite seeing / able to access the output file.
    So, the sequence of execution seems to be:
    -- Before Report Trigger
    -- Data Query (SQL statement)
    -- After Report Trigger
    -- Output Post Processor
    Because the AfterReport Trigger is running before the Output Post Processor, it is Not able to see the output file. Is that a True statement?
    If Yes, how else can the DataTemplate access the Output file?
    If No, what could cause the AfterReport trigger to not see the output file?

    Because the AfterReport Trigger is running before the Output Post Processor, it is Not able to see the output file. Is that a True statement?
    I believe so, as the OPP works on the output of the Report after the Report has completed execution.
    You could use the same approach as we do for bursting the report to different users. Write a Java Concurrent program based on "oracle.apps.xdo.oa.cp. XMLPReportBurst" with delivery channel Email to send the email output. You would need to add code to launch the Concurrent child request in your AfterReport Trigger:
    function AfterReport return boolean is
    jreq_id number;
    begin
    srw.message (100, 'DEBUG: AfterReport_Trigger +');
    jreq_id:= FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST ('XDO','XDOBURST','','',FALSE,:P_CONC_REQUEST_ID,'Y',chr(0),
    If (jreq_id=0)
    then
    srw.message (100,'Request id is zero');
    end if;

  • How do I read a report's XML Output from a procedure?

    I am using E-Business suite 11.5.10.2 and XMLP 5.5. I have a report that will output XML. When this report is run, I can click the 'View Output' button and view the XML. This appears to be a temp file somewhere, because the temp id in the URL changes each time a new report is run. Here's my problem: After running this report, I want to execute a procedure that will loop through the XML output and transform it into HTML. I will then output this HTML to the screen. But I'm not sure how to pass this file as a parameter to my procedure.
    Is there anyway to allow a procedure to consume the XML output?
    The reason I'm trying to do this, is because we need to transform certain reports into Excel format. This is becoming a critical issue. After testing, I found that if I can extract data into an HTML table and display it on the screen, it dumps perfectly into Excel. I tested it using a cursor, but that won't work for production reports. There is a ton of logic built into these Oracle reports, so I need to go the XML route after running the report.
    Looking at previous posts, the current Excel output process seems to be a bit buggy. And, we can not upgrade to Excel 2003 at this time.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks.
    Mark K

    Hello Klaus. I appreciate your response. While I'm no expert with XMLP, I have created about 8 production reports using XMLP. I am using XMLP 5.5, and not 5.6.1 I am using Excel 2002 and not Excel 2003. From other posts (shown below), it is my understanding that the Excel output may have bugs unless you're using XMLP 5.6.1 and Excel 2003.
    Please see the following posts for more information:
    Re: EXCEL output not displaying properly
    Excel output in 5.6 version
    Also, when I tried to output to Excel using my desktop version, I received an error message. But, when I switch to PDF format, it opens just fine.
    We are not prepared to upgrade Excel and/or install another patch for XMLP at this time. If I can do what I need to do programmatically, I will have much more leverage when it comes to troubleshooting. On the other hand, when I run into a bug with Oracle software, I usually have to wait for a patch.
    Thanks again.

  • HTML output from Maven report

    Is there a way to get HTML output from the Maven report? When I do a site generation, I see pmd.xml in the target directory and a flexpmd.html file in target/site, but flexpmd.html is essentially empty. I don't see any configuration option for this. The "regular" PMD plugin always outputs HTML and the XML output is an option (although it defaults to on): http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-pmd-plugin/pmd-mojo.html#format

    Actually, flex-pmd-maven-plugin 1.0.RC4 understands this in the configuration tag:
         <outputDirectory>${project.build.directory}/site</outputDirectory>
         <targetDirectory>${project.build.directory}/site</targetDirectory>
    With this, "pmd.xml" and "flexpmd.html" are placed in the site folder, but "flexpmd.html" is replaced later with the empty site report template. So, no real gain here.
    Any ideas on how to integrate the "flexpmd.html" file with the site reports?

  • JDev generated webservices encodes XML output from PL/SQL procedure

    I have a PL/SQL packaged procedure which takes some input parameters and produces one output parameter. The output parameter is of type CLOB and after the procedure has run, it contains a big piece of XML data.
    Using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1, I've published this packaged procedure as a webservice. The generated webservice is fine and works, except for one tiny little issue: the XML that is taken from the output parameter is encoded.
    Here is an example of the SOAP message that the webservice returns:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:ns0="http://gbv0300u/GBV0300U.wsdl/types/"><env:Body><ns0:gbv0300uResponse
    Element><ns0:result><ns0:obvglijstOut> & gt;type>GBV0001& gt ;/type& lt;
    & gt;diensten& lt;
    & gt;dienst>some value& gt;/dienst& lt;
    & gt;/diensten& lt;
    </ns0:obvglijstOut></ns0:result></ns0:gbv0300uResponseElement></env:Body></env:Envelope>
    (I've manually added an extra space between the & and lt; or gt; to make sure a browser will not translate it into a < or >!)
    The contents of the <ns0:obvglijstOut> element are filled with the output parameter from the PL/SQL package.
    How can I change the generated webservice, so the output from the PL/SQL package is used as is instead of being encoded?

    Update: I've tested a bit more by adding some output statements to the java code that JDeveloper generated. I'm now 100% sure the PL/SQL code gives the XML data correctly to the webservice.
    At this moment my guess is that somewhere in the WSDL definition there is something that enables the encoding of the data. But I'm not sure.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Is it Possible to upload the output from Oracle reports To Access database

    Hi All,
    Wish you All a Very Happy New Year.
    I have a query.Is it possible to
    upload the output from the Oracle reports
    to the Access database???
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    TIA
    sg

    Hi sg,
    Research the DDE option.
    Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) is a mechanism by which applications can communicate and exchange data in Windows.
    I have imported data into the excel spreadsheet using DDE built in functions. I am sure it can work with MS Acess as well. If not, then you need to create a 2 step process .. reports -> excel -> access.

  • XML Output from Concurrent Request DBMS_XMLGEN

    I am trying to create xml output for a concurrent request, using the DBMS_XMLGEN package to generate my XML?
    I have gotten so far as to be able to run my procedure and see the output in TOAD using dbms_output.put_line, but I can't seem to quite get the right link to convert this to Oracle Apps output.
    I have a concurrent request setup to output XML.
    This calls my procedure to return to the output file.
    So far, when I run from APPS, all that shows in the Output file is 'XML document must have a top level element.'
    Here is the relevant code...
    ctx DBMS_XMLGEN.ctxHandle; -- vars to convert SQL output to xml
    xml clob;
    xmlc varchar2(4000);
    off integer := 1;
    len integer := 4000;
    i number := 0;
    rc_data sys_refcursor;
    begin
    -- this calls simple open cursor for sql statement, returns rows
    rc_data := fa10022_data(P_BOOK_TYPE_CODE
    , P_STATE
    , v_BEG_DATE_EFFECTIVE
    , v_END_DATE_EFFECTIVE
    , P_BEG_ASSET_ACCT
    , P_END_ASSET_ACCT
    , v_depr_per_ctr);
    ctx := dbms_xmlgen.newContext(rc_data);
    dbms_xmlgen.setRowsetTag(ctx, 'XXFA10022');
    dbms_xmlgen.setRowTag(ctx, 'G_DATA');
    xml := dbms_xmlgen.getXml(Ctx);
    i := dbms_xmlgen.getNumRowsProcessed(ctx);
    dbms_xmlgen.closeContext(Ctx);
    apps.fnd_file.put_line(apps.fnd_file.output, xml);
    I was also following this link...
    http://www.appsassociates.com/products/Generation_XML_PLSQL.pdf
    any suggestions?
    Thanks!!
    Janel

    That was painful, but it helped!
    Most of it is workflow code...POXMLGEN contains the pertinent coding.
    I think my problem now lies with some of my data. Depending on what is returned, I sometimes receive a warning with no output. I know there are special characters in the data (ex eacute), but I can't tell if that is what is causing the issue. I do have the statement dbms_xmlgen.setConvertSpecialChars(ctx, TRUE); in my code, so not sure what else to do.
    This is what is being returned in OPP log...
    Caused by: oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected.

  • Incorrect XML output data in Report 6i, other formats are ok

    Hi,
    A very strange problem when running 6i report (database is 10g). Everything is fine when running the report, when I tried to use Generate to file from the File menu to different file formats, pdf, html and rtf formats are all good, but xml format gave some extra data, it seems it lost some conditions in where clause.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.
    Andrew

    I still doubt it..
    What ever character you have it in database, is going to be fetched in xml..
    be in Report builder, or sql, pl/sql.
    the way the data is being converted is the first we need to see.. if the character is getting messed here..
    once you got it as xml, and open xml in browser, then the parser finds the encoding in the top of xml, and renders the character . if it cannot understand the encoding character, then it will skip or do some abnormal things..
    oracle apps , is generating xml ?? what is that means ??
    data-template ? pl/sql or sql ??
