XML Publisher in E-Business Suite 11.5.10 Error uploading template

I am creating an XML Publisher output for a custom report. I have created the Data Defenition, I have created a template file (RTF)in MS Word using BI Publisher Destop.
Now I am creating a template in XML administrator and Uploding the RTF template file. I am getting an error saying that
"The uploaded file verapdtl.rtf is invalid. The file should be in XSL format"
I have no idea what is going on. I have selected the Report format as MS Excel.
Someone please help
Thanks

Hi George,
An RTF file should be created from the existing XML/BI Publisher Local Installer.
Once you Install XML/BI Publisher locally, you see XML/BI Publisher prompt when you open a MS Word document.
So while saving you need to save it as rtf file format.
And you should create the RTF file as per coding standards mentioned in XML/BI Publisher User guide.
Pls confirm if you have done the same, if not please follow the instructions.

Kiran

    yes, it is possible

I'm pleased to announce the availability of Oracle Virtual Machine Templates for E-Business Suite 12.1.1.
Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.1 OVM Templates Media Packs (32-bit and 64-bit) Now Available
Each media pack includes 2 OVM templates: one for database-tier nodes and one for middle-tier nodes. The templates deliver the results of a 12.1.1 Rapid Install with Vision demo database.
You can now create E-Business Suite database-tier and middle-tier virtual machines on the Oracle Virtual Server platform. On first boot of the virtual machines, administrators will be prompted to initialize the machine and E-Business Suite instance information, which then persists to future boots of that virtual machine.
Note that Oracle Virtual Server platform has been certified with E-Business Suite for a couple of years, but this is the first time we have published OVM templates created by E-Business Suite Development.

  • Does E-Business Suite temporarily stores documents/images upload to it

We're maintaining an Oracle E-Business Suite R12 running on a Suse Linux system. We have installed an Linux based McAfee Antivirus to have the operating system scanned for possible files being uploaded and stored which could be infected with a virus/worm.
Part of a the process/component is an HR system/module in E-Business Suite that allows a user to upload his/her resume in MS Word Document and also his/her picture. We want to have these files scanned by the McAfee Antivirus unfortunately we have omitted the scanning for the installation directory of the Oracle E-Business Suite and Database along with its sub-directory. Does anyone have an idea where does Oracle temporarily stores on the operating system side the files being uploaded before they are sent to the database?
We want to have this scanned before being sent to the database for possible attachment of virus and malware.

  • Error uploading template to BI Publisher

I've just installed BIEE 10.1.3 and have the Oracle BI Publisher add-in for Word installed (v 10.1.3.3.0, Build 108). I'm following the OBE found at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_bi/bipub/intro/gettingstarted.htm#p
Everything is working well until I get to the 'Publishing the Template for a BI Publisher Report' section. In MS Word, I'm selecting 'Upload Template As' (which, I presume, is the updated version of 'Publish Template As' which is noted in the OBE). Immediately upon selecting 'Upload Template As', I get this MS Word error dialog:
    -2147467261
Load Report Parameters Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Note that everything has gone well up to this point. The SQL executes. The preview in PDF mode looks great. The 'Validate Template' menu option shows 'No Error found'. I am logged in as Administrator.
    Any ideas?

I got a similar error. I was able to fix it by Turning-off the Norton Internet Security.
I don't know what is the connection between the two, but it worked for me.
    Good Luck.

  • Do I need to have license to use BI Publisher in E-Business suite?

    Hi
To use BI Publisher, do we nee to purchase license from oracle(Either individual or a company)?

So just to reiterate, if I make a Datamart based on Oracle Apps tables in my own custom schema and create a BI Publisher report out of it, I need a separate license, correct?
If yes, on what basis would this be licensed? No. of users? Is there a standard pricing for the same?

  • Add XML Publisher Administrator responsibility with EBS 11.5.9

    Hi all !
I'm exploring the possibility to use XML Publisher inside Oracle E Business Suite 11.5.9. because...unfortunately it's not possible to upgrade EBS to the 11.5.10 version
I found a note on the forum which says: "Starting from 11.5.9 the XMLP is bundled with Apps. You just need to add XML Publisher Administrator responsibility to your profile, and install MS Word template builder on your PC".
    So...my questions are:
    1) how can I add the XML Publisher Administrator responsibility to my profile ? Should I set up something (already existing into EBS), or should I install a patch ?
    2) how can I know the XML Publisher version bundled within Apps (if what is written inside that note it's true), 'cause I'd like to use the 5.6.3 version
Also, I looked for a solution on Metalink and the only note regarding how to use XML Publisher inside E Business Suite 11.5.9. is the note id 278727.1 (even I should install the 4.5 XML Publisher version - TOO OLD)
    Thanks in advance
    Alessandro

Hi Ravi thanks for you answer !
So....I tried to create the responsibility from scratch, because nothing is defined for XML Publisher, in this way (from the OA System Administrator):
    Responsibility Name: XML Publisher Administration
    Application: XML Publisher
    Responsibility Key: XDO_ADMINISTRATION
.....but inside the Data Group area
    Name : Standard
    Application: ?
....and inside the Menu area which information should I write ?
Is there something to follow in order to create from scratch a XML responsibility ?
    Thanks again

  • XML Publisher(XDODTEXE) in EBS taking more time with the same SQL in TOAD

    HI
XML Publisher(XDODTEXE) in EBS taking more time with the same SQL in TOAD.
The sql has 5 union clauses.
It takes 20-30 minutes in TOAD compared to running through Concurrent Program in XML Publisher in EBS taking around 4-5 hours.
The Scalable Flag at report level is turned on with the JVM options set to -Xmx1024m -Xmx1024m in Concurrent Program definition.
Other configurations for Data Template like XSLT, Scalable, Optimization are turned on though didn't bounce the OPP Server for these to take effect as I am not sure whether it is needed.
Thanks in advance for your help.

But the question is that how come it is working in TOAD and takes only 15-20 minutes?
    with initialization of session ?
    what about sqlplus ?
Do I have to set up the the temp directory for the XML Publisher report to make it faster?

  • OPP(Output Post Processor) not processing the report (XML Publisher)

    Hi,
I have defined a concurrent program (XML Publisher report) then ran but failed with the errors below. I am running the report in Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2, thru a concurrent manager other than Standard Manager. My guess is that OPP(Output Post Processor) is not processing the request outputs coming from a different manager/work shift since requests ran thru Standard Managers are all OK.
In the OAM(Oracle Applications Manager)-> OPP, there is only 1 process allocated for both Actual and Target. If we increase the number of processes, will it work?

    Hello,
Just an additional tests info. We have 2 concurrent managers which I think is affecting the XML report output - Standard Manager(running 24 hours) and a Warehouse manager (9am-4:15pm).
When I run the report before or after the Warehouse manager workshift(9am-4:15pm), the output is fine - which means PDF is generated and Pasta printing is OK. However, when report is run between 9am-4:15pm, the report only shows XML output with an error in Pasta printing(above). I also found that re-opening the output(ran prior to Warehouse workshift) on the period between 9am-4:15pm would also result to just an XML output instead of the previous PDF.
Anybody who has experienced similar issue like this? Any idea? The report is not directly defined as "inclusion" in the Warehouse manager, only the program calling it. Any effect of multiple concurrent managers in the XML Publisher output?
Thanks in advance for your ideas..

  • New in XML Publisher

    Hi
I'd like to know what do i need to start working with XML Publisher.
    Thanks

The usage inside EBS (as XML Pub) isn't that different than using BI Publisher standalone, of which, you can easily download and install on your PC. After installing the add-in for Word, you will have tons of examples. I also mentioned Oracle By Example. Had you looked there already, you would see lots of examples there as well. What is it that you want people to provide for you more than that? But, the direct answer to your question is yes. Read the documentation that comes with EBS. You can also buy a book (published in Europe, written in English, available at http://www.amazon.com/BI-Publisher-Oracle-E-Business-Suite/dp/1847991157). You can also spend $300 plus about $42 in tax/shipping to buy the Oracle University CD-ROMs.

  • XLIFF HELP PLEASE URGENT in E-Business Suite.

Hello all. I have been strugling with XLIFF configuration for several days and am under a deadline to get this working.
I have been able to successfully get it working in the development machine under microsoft word. Loading the translation file in word produces the correct results.
I have built a XML Template and loaded the XLIFF file in the E-Business Suite. The translation file gets created in the template and when I click on the preview button under the translation, the xliff file sucessfully loads against the template and I can see the xliff applied successfully.
My issue is when I go to run the report. I create a request, and then when I go under the On Completion section, where the template is shown, there is an option for language and template language.
I do not know how to change these. There is no other options in the lOV to select.
    I was testing France French.
I tried to change the Local under Regional settings on my Windows Machine, that did not help.
There are a few other places to change language.
So what I need help is on how do you set the language territory locality so the XML reports selects the correct XLIFF file.
I am not sure where you make the changes to the locality and how it passes this to the XMLP process so it applies the correct xliff file. The documentation is very limiting of this part of the process.
Any help would be appreciated very much.
Ill check back soon to see if anyone can assist.
    Thanks in advance.

    Also,
I am not sure if MLS is needed or NLS. I am not sure if you need to have these options enabled.
    I also found this additional information;
    Set Report Locale
A locale is a language and territory combination (for example, English (United States)
or French (Canada)). XML Publisher uses the report locale selection to determine the
    following:
    • The template translation to apply
    • The number formatting and date formatting to apply to the report data
Note that a particular report must have an available template translation for the selected
locale. If not, XML Publisher will apply a locale fallback logic to select the template. For
more information, see Locale Selection Logic, page 4-5.
The appropriate number and date formatting will be applied independently of the
    template translation.
    Thanks
    Ira Kleiner
