XML Report issue in R12 Upgradition

Hi All,
This is Narendra, Oracle apps technical consultant.
Currently I am working in R12 upgradition project.
I am facing a problem with standard report "Paybles posted Invoice register"
Which was in pdf output format in 11i and xml output format in R12.
when I am running this report in R12 it is running fine for some periods and
for some periods it is going in warning and output is comming in XML Code only.
Please let me know the solution.

i have just tried running it with one batch and to my surprise it ran fine with proper output.Please see these docs.

Hi,
I'm facing issue with printing xml reports on R12 instance and followed the note (How To Print XML Publisher PDF Reports Via The Concurrent Manager:metalink id:338990.1) and configured the pasta printer,still printer output is showing the junk charcters.
Please let me know how to resolve the issue?.

We are on 12.1.1 / 11g with AL32UTF8 character set, we have custom reports developed in BI publisher and some some migrated reported from earlier version.
Both BI publisher based custom like PO/Invoice/Cheque Print & seeded reports like "Active users/responsibilites" are being generated successfuly in pdf output. when copied to desktop and printed it prints properly. But when trying to direct output to printer from concurrent request it is printng junk.
I checked pasta configuration, all required ghostscripts tools are on the AIX box, am I missing anything in R12?

XML Report Issue while generating the Report in EXCEL

Hi All,
I have Created the XML Report which will generate the output in EXCEL format. I am having the issue with the report output in EXCEL.
In my Case,
If I ran the concurrent it got completed normally and the output got completed normally and the output is generated successfully if the data for the input parameter combinations exists.
Issue is if there is no data exists for the combinations of parameters choosen then it gives the output in excel with the headers alone some times. (meaning there is no combinations of data exists for the input given excel is having headers alone).
wiseversa
sometimes the output in excel there is no header part too..(meaning the excel is empty/null).
Could anyone suggest how to resolve the issue so that the output in excel can include the header part if the data not exists for the input given. so that it should not generate the output as blank in excel i want the header alone should be included even if the report has no data for the input combination given.
Its very urgent issue.
Any suggestion will be a great help for me.

Database, custom step types, ann XML report issues...All in one

TS3.0
Have a number of issues to do the above. I'll try and explain them in order. I'm sure there all linked, but can't figure out how...
The "Custom" Steps.....They are copies of the NI Numeric/Multiple Numeric tests, with a added post step to translate the error code into something meaningful.... No big deal.
XML Issue
When the report is generated the the Multiple numeric saves fine(See Multiple.txt, the step is of numeric type, all is well). However strange things happen in the Numeric test. see "Simple.txt" for a snipit of the result file. As you can see the "error code" contains the measurement. Why....?
Also in the XML the result seems to be reported as a normal step(like an action) and not a numeric test....
DATABASE Issues
Now when loggin to the standard DB that ships with TS, with the 1 change to the tables, to record our custom types in the DB. Everything works fine and is recorded untill the 1st instance of a skipped "Custom_MultipleNumericLimit Test" , at which point the DB (Microsoft Access) throws a wobbly(error message) and states that "No such col exsists". When the DB is looked at everything is recorded upto the point where a skipped Custom Step happend(and the error message). When the custom type is run normally(ie not skipped), the resutls are recorded fine, no problems.
Can't get my head around whats going on. I've check the property flags, and as far as I can tell every thing is in order for these custom steps(ie they look the same as the TestStand steps they are based on). It records fine in the XML.

Can you be more specific details about your database problem, specifically:
1) the changes that you made to the default schema
2) the changes that you made to the database tables
3) the entire error message text for the logging error

For xml reports in ebs, if default font is not found, what does OPP do?

If the OPP is unable to locate a font file while merging an XML report in EBS R12.1.3 running on AIX (BI Version 5.6.3), what does it do? Is there a default set somewhere, and if so, can it be changed? Can it be changed only at the site level, or at the indvidual template level? Is there just one default or can you specify a different default for each font? Is there anyway to force the merge to error if the requested font is not found?

Unable to open XML report in Oracle EBS r12

Hi,
I have new installation of Oracle EBS r12 (12.1.1) on linux.
To test the XML report, I changed the output of standard report 'Active Users' from 'Text' to 'XML' and defined the data definition and template for this report.
I am unable to see the output for XML reports. The report completes without error, however I cannot open the output file.
The browser opens for fraction of a second and then closes down. My client machine is Windows 7 and I used Microsoft words 2010 to build template
I used the 5.7.201 version of BI publisher to create the rtf template.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

XML-OPP issue with report

We have following issue while running/generating XML report.
"The output post-processor will be made to post-process this request.
No further attempts will be made to post-process this request, and the request will me marked with warning status.
Setting the profile option concurrent: OPP Response Timeout to a higher value may be necessary. "
We are also getting following errors as well.
"XML File does not appear have any style information associated with it."
We have increased OPP: Response time and bounced, but still same issue. Could someone please help?

Barcode's in R12.1.1 xml report output's (English and Arabic)

Dear Frednds,
we are using R12.1.1 and we need to get the barcode output's (in place of numbers) in out xml report output's.
We need it in English report and also in Arabic reports (it has seperate arabic template file)
Please let us know the method?

1) we have downloaded and installed the Font Code128bWinLarge.ttf on windows PC.
2)Set the barcode font for the required field in the rtf Template.
3) Copied the font file, Code128bWinLarge.ttf to $OA_JRE_TOP/lib/fonts
4) Copied xdo.cfg file from our local desktop where we have BI publisher installed to
$OA_JRE_TOP/lib Directory.
5)added these lines locating barcode font location ($OA_JRE_TOP/lib/fonts
/Code128bWinLarge.ttf)accordingly.
Now For English reports we are getting the barcode
But for Arabic reports we are getting junk characters
so is there any other font available for Arabic barcode.Plerase suggest

Compatibility issues between R12 and report builder 2.5

Hi,
I just want to know if there are issues between R12 and (Forms 4.5 and Reports 2.5)? I have been using 6i since I started in the oracle so I'm a little new to this.

As my understanding there is no issue for Forms 4.5 and Reports 2.5 with R12.
You can develop report with Report 6i can be deployed with R12.You cannot use Forms 4.5, Reports 2.5 or Developer (Forms/Reports) 6i with Oracle EBs R12 as it is not certified. The only supported version is Developer 10g

XML Report Excel Output exponential value issue

Hello All,
While working on XML Report we need to show output in excel format. One of the out put value is “00110E001”. but when displaying in excel is shows "1.00E+0" and default behavior of MS Excel is if the any number data contains “E” then excel will convert those records in exponential format. But our client required those data which are present in database i.e. “00110E001”.

You are making number as a string, by adding a character :) , so it will be displayed as string with space and not as number.

Data source for Deposit Advice (XML) and Live CheckWrite (XML) reports

Hello All,
We need to customize the Deposit Advice (XML) and Live Check Write(XML) reports to accomodate a few business requirements. We already have customizations for these reports in non-XML versions. For Ex: USPAYPST.rdf for Deposit Advice report. As these non-XML RDF reports are going to be unsupported by Oracle soon, we need to customize the XML versions of these report available in R12.1.3.
As these reports are kicked off by the PYUGEN spawned program, therefore I need information on the data source for these reports as soon as possible.

Now, I have anew problem here. I modified the USPAYPST.rdf report for Deposit Advice and then changed concurrent program output to XML from Text.
I attached a RTF template to the concurrent program to have the output in XML.
When I run Deposit Invoice Report from the SRS window, it finishes off normally and log file says the number of records processed but no output file is generated.
I also tried looking into the XML generated through View XMl and there too no output file is generated.
I am confused if the Deposit Advice program can only generate Text output. As PYUGEN is the executable for this report, I have no idea if XML file can even be generated.
All pointers to this issue are welcome.

How to open a form from Oracle XML Report .xls Output?

Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein we have one complex SQL query, requirement is to fetch the data from that query and show it to the user. So far, so good. We can either create a report thru' UTL file to show the output to the user or can create a XML report whose output can be in the excel format.
Now user wants to have a hyperlink i.e. when he clicks the BSA (Blanket Sales Agreement) from the report output, it should be able to route him to BSA screen (oracle form), so that he can directly correct the issue with that corresponding BSA on which he clicked.
i.e. requirement is to create a a hyperlink from report output which will route the user to that oracle form with the BSA queried.
Not sure how can we implement this. If anybody has come across this type of requirement, please share your ideas and the approach used so as to accomplish this. Any inputs on this will be highly appreciated.

we create reports in an XML format using http://matzberger.de/oracle/spreadsheet-en.html.
Within these files you can create hyperlinks to a forms application like
http://<applicationserver>/forms/frmservlet?config=xy&p_autoinit_module=ab&p_autoinit_arg=123
With these parameters we call a default forms module (welcome screen) and then start module ab and execute a query for 123. The user then can directly access the data he needs.
