You have missing some information.
1. First create report in Report Builder.
2. Generate report in XML format.
3. Now using BI Publisher import XML format report.
4. Add required columns in MS Word with Add in options.
5. Now Save MS File with format rtf.

Can Sentinel RD reports be in CSV format instead of PDF
Hi,
I am working with Sentinel RD and generating custom reports using
iReport. I was wondering if I can generate a custom report where the
output is in CSV format instead of PDF and can be scheduled in the same
way as the PDF are.
What do I need to do to achieve this?

View this thread: http://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=428324Here is how to output report results in CSV format in SLM 1.1 (or
later):
STEP 1: Go to the $ESEC_CONFIG_HOME directory on your SLM server (It
will be something like: /etc/opt/novell/sentinel_log_mgr/config).
STEP 2: Open the file
"obj-component.JasperReportingComponent.properties" for editing.
STEP 3: Specify the following fields/values in that properties file:
reporting.csv.enable=true
reporting.csv.email=true
reporting.csv.outputdir=/opt/mycsvreportresults
STEP 4: Save the file.
STEP 5: I *think* you have to restart the SLM server after making
changes to any of these properties.
Some things to take note of:
NOTE 1: You can specify any directory (that the novell user has
permission to write to) in the "reporting.csv.outputdir" setting. This
will cause a .csv file to be created in that directory whenever a report
is run.
NOTE 2: If you set the "reporting.csv.email" setting to true, the .csv
report results will be included with any report results that are
emailed.
NOTE 3: The CSV results will include all of the report information in
the the .csv... including the header information any output from any
subreports. That additional information may not always be desireable in
the CSV results, so if you find the format of the .csv to not be what
you need or too difficult to work with, you might want to consider
creating a new report where there results/output are more optimized for
.csv output (may without any header or subreport information).
NOTE 4: Regardless of whether csv output is enabled or not, the
standard PDFs results will always be generated.
NOTE 5: The CSV results are not accessible through the GUI, but instead
are accessible by looking in the directory you specify via the
"reporting.csv.outputdir" property ... or via any report result emails
if the "reporting.csv.email" property is set to true.
NOTE 6: Just FYI: That "reporting.pdf.outputdir" property that you will
also see in the "obj-component.JasperReportingComponent.properties" file
is if you want to have the PDF results to be placed in a directory on
the server. (PDF results will always be accessible via the GUI
regardless of this setting.)

Why do old Adobe PDF files which I attach to a document show as Firefox documents in my files instead of an Adobe PDF file after an Adobe Reader update? My saved files Adobe PDF documents also appear as Firefox documents instead of Adobe PDF files.
NO MATTER WHAT VERSION OF WINDOWS YOU'RE USING:
Right click one of the PDFs with the Word icon.
Select "Properties"
Where it says "Opens With" there is a button to change it from Word to Adobe Reader, which should be in the list of available programs that pops up.
Choose Reader, and click APPLY before clicking OK.
That will change ALL PDFs to Reader as the default application. -

Insert a link on xml report. The link should open up a document(PDFS).
Is it possible to insert a link in the report? The value would come from a sql query. The link when clicked on would open up the pdf or doc.
Is this done thru a href or by inserting a dynamic hyper link.
The release Release 5.6.2 documentation references how to insert a hyperlink. NOt sure if this will work for me.
I tried it but in the documentation it states:
>
If your input XML data includes an element that contains a hyperlink or part of
one, you can create dynamic hyperlinks at runtime. In the Type the file or Web page
name field of the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, enter the following syntax:
{URL_LINK}
where URL_LINK is the incoming data element name.
>
However the dialog box I am getting when I insert the hyperlink does not have a place to enter the element name. That is, there is no 'TYPE the file or Web page' area that I can see.hi ashalon,
I did it this way in MS Word.
1. create placeholder for value
2. highlight it and make it a hyperlink
3. enter the url into the address line
So If you have a complete hyperlink in xml element URL_LINK you just have to enter {URL_LINK} into the address line. If you have only a part of the link, i.e only a product name, you can enter "http://www.oracle.com?product={PRODUCT_NAME}".
Hope this helps.

XML Forms show raw xml after transport
Hallo experts,
at the moment I am working to set up a SAP Enterprise Portal 7.4. I was able to export KM content from our old 7.0 portal.
The only problem i am experiencing is that xml forms, that I exported and imported through standard KM export / import, are showing as raw xml.
The forms are available in forms builder and I also generated a preview (compiled the form) for each form and saved after that.
There are no errors in the log that point me in a direction, so please help.
Do you have any ideas what I am missing?
Best regards,
AndréHi Zlatin,

So far it's not possible to connect two identic proerties by an 'AND' within the standard.
You can preset a search filter via the relevant Search Option Set.

XML Publisher Error with reports published in XML publisher
Hi All,
I am geting the following error with a report published using XML Publisher
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
The system cannot locate the resource specified. Error processing resource 'http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.d...
How can i Rectify this?Hi Ark,
In order to generate a report using xml publisher. we need the following.
1. XML Data
2. Template file (RTF/PDF/..)
XML data will not be created by the template file.
We will be required to create XML data. One of the easiest way to create xml output is using the RDF. We can change the rdf output type in the concurrent program to XML.
Once the xml and the template is available, "XML Report Publisher" will be able to generate the output in the required format.
Thanks,

REP-6104: Invalid XML report definition
Hello All,
We're encountering the above error. What could be the cause of the problem?
We're using Oracle 10g 10.1.2 on AIX as our report server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What format do you use for your Reports ? JSP ? XML ? RDF ? REP ?
If you are using JSP or XML, try to save your Reports in Reports Buidler with the format RDF and use this RDF

Creating XML report using PL/SQL Stored Procedure
Hi Friends,
I am working on an xml report with the xml source as PL/SQL Stored Procedure.
I am referring the exercise shown in the following link to understand the process:
http://orclapp.blogspot.com/2012/02/developing-xml-publisher-report-using.html
In the example shown in the above link I could not understand the following:
1) In the following procedure, the out parameter 'retcode' is not used at all.
What is the importance of this parameter.
PROCEDURE REPORT (errbuf OUT VARCHAR2, retcode OUT VARCHAR2, p_product_id IN NUMBER)
2) After the xml data is prepared and put to 'l_result' Clob variable, the following
Loop is executed. I am not able to appreciate why the following loop is required.
LOOP
EXIT WHEN l_length = l_retrieved;
IF (l_length - l_retrieved) < 32000
THEN
SELECT SUBSTR (l_result, l_retrieved + 1) INTO l_xmlstr FROM DUAL;
l_retrieved := l_length;
fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xmlstr);
ELSE
SELECT SUBSTR (l_result, l_retrieved + 1, l_offset)
INTO l_xmlstr
FROM DUAL;
l_retrieved := l_retrieved + l_offset;
fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xmlstr);
END IF;
END LOOP;
3) In the example it is not explained how the concurrent program gets the xml data?
I assume it is written to a file using the following line of code:
fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xmlstr);
I would appreciate if anyone can throw some light into my above queries so that I can understand the process clearly.
Thanks & Regards
HawkerHi 32000 in the code is a 'safe' size smaller than the max available 32767, the loops purpose is to move through the entire thing in chunks that will be manageable in the limits of the data type.
Btw; if you are in Oracle e-business suite then you can also use Oracle reports very simply to create XML output.
If you have reports developer all you need to do is put raw sql (without any 'artifice' to create XML) in the report SQL and then set the reports output to XML in the program definition in Oracle e-business.
best regards,

XML Report Publisher - Blank Report Request Parameter
Hi
I have a custom template and custom data definition in Purchasing application. I ran PO Output For Communication and it generated the PDF. Now I want to do Bursting.
So, I assigned XML Report Publisher and XML Bursting (both out-of-box programs) to Purchasing responsibility. But when I try to run them, I don't see any values in Request ID LOV.
Please suggest what am I missing in there.
Thanks,

NewBiePlease confirm that you have added those concurrent programs to the correct Request Group which is attached to the same responsibility.
From (System Administrator responsibility > Security > Responsibility > Define) query the responsibility name and get the Request Group. Then from (System Administrator responsibility > Security > Responsibility > Request), query the Request Group and add those concurrent programs.

XML Report Bursting and distribution
I want to send PDF report as an attachment to more than 200 suppliers using XML Report Bursting
In XML Report Bursting and distribution, do we need to configure the "Mail Server" on apps. (I mean any configuration is required on apps server)?
Thanks,

App Engine creates XML report but I cannot access it in Report Manager
Here is my application engine code:
import PSXP_RPTDEFNMANAGER:*;
/* XML Publisher report using query data source */
Local string &sRptDefn = "WAP_XML_JAS2";
Local string &sLangCd = "ENG";
Local date &AsOfDate = %Date;
Local string &sOutFormat = "PDF";
Local string &sPrcsServerName;
Local string &sFolder = "XML PUBLISHER";
Local number &prcsInstId;
Local PSXP_RPTDEFNMANAGER:ReportDefn &oRptDefn;
/* get report definition object */
&oRptDefn = create PSXP_RPTDEFNMANAGER:ReportDefn(&sRptDefn);
&oRptDefn.Get();
/*generate report*/
&oRptDefn.ProcessReport("", &sLangCd, &AsOfDate, &sOutFormat);
/*publish report */
&oRptDefn.Publish(&sPrcsServerName, "", &sFolder, &prcsInstId);
I see my report in Report Manager but it isn't a hyperlink that I can click on to then open the PDF. However if I run my XML report in the XML Scheduler, I see that report in Report Manager and it is a hyperlink.
Any ideas? Did I miss a line of code i need to be able to access it? When I take the url for the one that works and change the Report ID for the one that doesn't work, I get kicked out of the web (says error has occurred and makes me sign in again).
Thanks!
JenniferI was able to get the file to get the hyperlink to appear. I used the following code:
import PSXP_RPTDEFNMANAGER:*;
/* XML Publisher sample report using query data source */
Local PSXP_RPTDEFNMANAGER:ReportDefn &oRptDefn;
/* create report definition */
&oRptDefn = create PSXP_RPTDEFNMANAGER:ReportDefn("WAP_XML_JAS2");
&oRptDefn.Get();
/* specify output destination when output type is file */
If %OutDestType = 2 Then /* file */
&oRptDefn.OutDestination = %FilePath;
End-If;
/* process report */
&oRptDefn.ProcessReport("", WC_WAPXML1_AET.LANGUAGE_CD, %Date, &oRptDefn.GetOutDestFormatString(%OutDestFormat));
/* send output to destination */
If %OutDestType = 6 Then /* Web */
&oRptDefn.Publish("", "", "", WC_WAPXML1_AET.PROCESS_INSTANCE);
Else
If %OutDestType = 3 Then /* Printer */
&oRptDefn.PrintOutput(%FilePath);
End-If;
End-If;
Of course I had to have the following SQL statement in the first step to populate the state record:
%Select(WC_WAPXML1_AET.OPRID, WC_WAPXML1_AET.RUN_CNTL_ID, WC_WAPXML1_AET.LANGUAGE_CD)
SELECT OPRID
, RUN_CNTL_ID
, LANGUAGE_CD
FROM %Table(PRCSRUNCNTL)
WHERE OPRID = %OperatorId
AND RUN_CNTL_ID = %RunControl
Now I am able to get the report in report manager if it is run to the web, or as a file if that option is chosen on the run control.
