XML support in XE edition

See subject.. does the new XE version of oracle db contain XMLType support?
I can't find any reference to it.
Regards,
Wouter

Does not seem to be that promising at the moment as there are no related documents.
Well either somebody from the product management team can pick this and answer, else post your query to asktom.oracle.com.
Tom is going to host the discussion forums for XE.
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/xe/forum.html
But currently only if you download it, you can register.so best is to post the query to his site itself.

  • SSRS in SharePoint Mode: Reporting Services scale-out deployment is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services [not true]

    Hello,
    We are experiencing some issues with SharePoint 2013 which is driving me insane.
    We have a deployment with two SQL Servers (HA groups) and four SharePoint servers: 2 Application servers, and 2 Web FrontEnd servers.
    We installed SSRS for SharePoint in both application servers. The disc I have used is the MSDN image of SQL Enterprise 2012 w/ SP2.
    ISO name: en_sql_server_2012_enterprise_edition_with_service_pack_2_x64_dvd_4685849.iso
    MD5: 003e14c55fa648ad15f8be1e2439bd06
    The installation completes without any problems. We can start the SSRS SharePoint Service in the first application server without any issues. However when we try to start the second one, we get the following error:
    Reporting Services scale-out deployment is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. This edition only supports one instance of the sql reporting services service in the farm. The SQL Server Reporting Services cannot be started on
    this server unless it is stopped on all other servers in the farm.
    Now I am at a loss here. As I mentioned, we have used an image of SQL Server Enterprise. This is the same image we used on other environment, which worked as expected (we got no such error).
    I have included the text related to the correlation error from the SP logs below.
    Has anyone ever seen this issue before? Very, very strange!
    Regards,
    P.

    Hi Wynn,
    I appreciate your attempt to address my concerns, but even your reply seems to ignore the fact that I have not only provided the name of the ISO, but the MD5 checksum of the ISO as well. Also this is the first time I am being asked to double-check the version
    of SSRS. The first reply I got to my query simply disregarded the version mismatch.
    As per your request, I have checked under the folder you have specified (C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\WebServices\LogFiles), but unfortunately there are no files under this folder in neither of my two application
    servers.
    We only have logfiles under C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS
    Is there a way I can turn those logs on?

  • XML Parsing in Java Stored Proc--Oracle XML Support Installation?

    I am working with a third party product that is having difficulty running a java stored proc that is parsing a supplied XML file. The proc basically looks like:
    import java.io.IOException;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError;
    import javax.xml.parsers.ParserConfigurationException;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import org.xml.sax.SAXException;
    InputStream is = getXMLAsInputStream(xml);
    try {
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory =
    DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document document = builder.parse( is );
    ... parse the document ....
    catch (FactoryConfigurationError e) {
    // unable to get a document builder factory
    We are running on 9.2.0.6, HP-UX 64-bit. At first, when we would attempt to run the proc, a database hang would occur; now after attempting to install using loadjava jars for xerces2.6: ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception:
    javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError: Provider
    org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl not found)
    The vendor says that the errors we are getting when running are not due to any dependency on xerces or jre1.4, and that we need to "install Oracle XML support", but I'm not certain what this means (I cannot find any documentation on what to install). I believe that there are jars that need to be loaded into the database to support the XML parsing, as jre1.3 does not include built-in XML support, and Oracle 9.2.0.6 uses jre1.3.
    So...does anyone have any thoughts as to how to resolve the missing references? Is there a way to "install Oracle XML support", or is it to install the necessary jars?
    Thanks,
    Candi

    Candi,

  • SQL 2012 SP1 Enterprise (SSRS in SharePoint mode): Reporting Services scale-out deployment is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services

    Hello,
    SSRS in SharePoint mode is driving me insane.
    We are recreating a SharePoint 2013 (SP1) farm in a test environment with the following set-up:
    2 SP Web FrontEnds
    2 SP Application Servers
    1 SQL Server
    At both SP APP Servers, we installed SSRS (SQL 2012 Enterprise w/ SP1) in SP integrated mode.
    We managed to start the SSRS SP service at the first SP APP Server. However when we try to start it on the second APP Server, we get the following error:
    "Reporting Services scale-out deployment is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. This edition only supports one instance of the SQL Server Reporting Services Service in the farm.  The SQL Server Reporting Services service cannot
    be started on this server unless it is stopped on all other servers in the farm. "
    Now I can't stress this enough: This is a SQL Server 2012 SP1 Enterprise. This is the image we got from our MSDN subscription. There is no mistake here.
    Could someone please advise why SP might think this version of SSRS is not the correct one?
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    P.

    Hello,
    I'm afraid that is not it.
    After a long, frustrating and strenuous investigation and troubleshooting, we found the problem.
    The problem is the current ISO for SQL Server 2012 Enterprise SP1 (x64) found at MSDN. Bear in mind that we downloaded this ISO from MSDN about a month ago.
    As soon as we recreated the environment using the ISO for SQL Server 2012 Enterprise SP2 (x64) found at MSDN, everything worked as expected -- and that includes running more than one SSRS in SharePoint mode.
    Also bear in mind that we tried updating the SQL SP1 install with SP2 and subsequent cumulative updates but that never fixed the problem.
    There is something fundamentally wrong with that ISO with SP1 slipstreamed in it that no matter the subsequent updates installed, SSRS in SharePoint mode fails to work properly on a multi-server environment. We went as far as SP2 with CU3 and nothing seemed
    to fix the problem. And yes, we also performed manual updates to the SSRS and PowerPivot SharePoint MSI add-ins.
    I am shocked and distraught to find out that I lost hours of work due to a dodgy ISO image.
    Regards,
    P.

    Hi,
    Please try to download the SP1 Edition of the rsSharePoint.msi
    file and install it. You have to install the SP1 edition of RS if you are using SP 2013.

  • The feature: "Report part gallery" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services.

    Struggling trying to get off the ground on same basic reporting functionality - I have a report that basically just dumps out the contents of a table for now.  When I attempt to publish the report, I get "The feature: "Report part gallery"
    is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services." for both the single param I am trying to define for the report and the Tablix report part.  What
    can I do with this version of Reporting Services?  Ultimately, I need to create a few very simple reports and then be able to display them in a UI developed in Visual Studio 2013 via a Web Form.  It seems that Visual Studio 2013 does not
    offer a report viewer so that is another issue entirely (hoping the one for 2011 will work).  I am just trying to design and publish a few simple reports right now and can't even get past that right now.

    Hello,
    What's the version and edition of SSRS did you used?
    Report Part Gallery is only available in Standard Edition and above. If you using SSRS express edition, you can try to create a subreport which ccontain the Tablix report part content, and then add the subreport in other reports to meet the similar requirement.
    You can refer to the following blog about compare Subreport with Report Part.
    http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2314/ssrs-report-parts-versus-sub-reports-faq/
    As for display SSRS report in Visual Studio, you can using the ReportViewer controls in Visual Studio.

  • How to edit bitmap which is imported in flash using xml and save the edited bitmap back to xml in flash.

    hi all
    It would be appreciated if any one let me know how to edit
    bitmap which is imported in flash using xml and save the edited
    bitmap back to xml in flash.
    Is it posible to save the bitmap data in flash?
    thanks in advance

    Yes you can... but like I said before you need to upload the
    data from the changes you make to a server.
    In terms of the solution... its unlikely that you'll find one
    specifically for your needs. You will have to learn whatever you
    don't know how already and maybe adapt some existing examples to
    your needs.
    To change the visual state of a movie clip... you just do all
    the regular things that you want to do to it using flash... scale,
    rotation, drawing API , textfields etc in actionscript. If you
    don't know how to how to do that stuff, then you need to learn that
    first. That's basic actionscript.
    You can capture the visual state of a movieclip using the
    BitmapData class. That includes a loaded jpeg. You can also
    manipulate bimatp data using the same class. You should read up on

  • XML support in SAP 4.6

    Hi all !
    I'm looking for information about XML support in SAP 4.6c.
    I have to implement a data exchange mechanism between SAP and web application written in Java. Whole idea looks simple: Java application send an XML document through RFC and ABAP program should parse this document. When document is parsed, program performs an action and receives single or multiple objects. Those objects have to be converted to XML and sent back to Java app.
    Is there any XML parser available in 4.6C. Is there any mechanism which serialize/deserialize ABAP Objects to/from XML.
    Thank you for any help and hints.

    Hi again !
    I need to convert an OBJECT INSTANCE. e.g.
    CLASS student DEFINITION.
    PUBLIC SECTION.
    METHODS:constructor
    IMPORTING
    i_name TYPE c
    i_indeks TYPE n,
    introduce_yourself
    EXPORTING
    e_name TYPE c.
    PRIVATE SECTION.
    DATA: name(30) TYPE c,
    indeks(10) TYPE n.
    ocena LIKE ys_ocena,
    tabela_ocen TYPE TABLE OF ys_ocena.
    ENDCLASS.
    I have to convert a single INSTANCE of this class to XML and send it as a XML stream (or XML formated content in internal table) in return value of function module called through RFC.
    As you can see - this class contains some variables and an internal table. For me, a best solution would be to provide this class instance as a parameter and get a XML formated data.
    I have a SAP system and Web Application written in Java. Comunications between them is provided by RFC (JCo). SAP application and Web Application communicate by exchanging a XML documents. Since, SAP part is using Abap Objects - i have to convert object to/from XML.
    Thanks for all your help.

  • "The feature Power View is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services" after installation of November CU for SharePoint

    We had deployed Reporting Services / PowerPivot /Powerview for a customer and everything was tested and appeared to be working fine . However after installing the November CU we now get the following error :
    "The feature Power View is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services"
    Initially PowerPivot wasn't working either but that got resolved after re-installing the rssharepoint and sppowerpivot msi files. Has anyone faced this issue?

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the PowerView not work after installing the November CU Updates.
    I check the November CU updates, it have no affects on the PowerView or PowerPivot.
    The reason for this issue may occur when the PowerPivot Service Application is not running after installing the CU updates.

  • Infiniband support in Standard Edition RAC

    Hi,
    This document states that there is no InfiniBand support in Standard Edition:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/license.112/e47877/editions.htm#DBLIC116
    But I'm able to start Standard Edition RAC 11.2.0.4 with either UDP over IB or RDS over IB as private interconnect.
    So, what exactly does it mean that Standard Edition does not support IB?

    You can run IPoIB (IP over Infiniband) for supporting a standard IP stack. You can also configure it for connected mode (7000 byte MTU recommended). From a TCP/UDP/IP application perspective (such as Oracle), it is just another standard IP stack being used.
    Oracle may argue that relinking the rdbms executable for using RDS as oppose to UDP is a violation of the SE license. But I seriously doubt that they will claim SE prevents you from using IB all together and that using IPoIB is a license violation - as that would just be plain silly.
    But then from an IB perspective - a SE RAC is a really a small minor cluster. Where the performance and scalability provided by IB is pretty much unused and wasted.
    So SE not supporting IB is more a support statement I think from Oracle (not supporting high-end Interconnect with low-end cluster), and not a statement of incompatibility of SE  with IB.

  • XML support in AI

    Hi,
    I know there's XML support for InDesign but what abt AI? What I need to do is XML coding and tagging. Anyone?

    Look at the public API on the SDK - http://www.adobe.com/devnet/illustrator/sdk/
    In particular:
    AIArtSuite - Get/Set XMP metadata for an art object.
    AIDocumentSuite - Get/Set XMP metadata for a document object.
    AIAssetMgmtSuite - Simple XMP metadata manipulation.
    And AIXMPDataFieldMap - the structure used to update XMP metadata.

  • Does xml support delta?

    does Xml support delta?

    What is it, an interview question? If so, it is a pretty bad one, in my view
    XML is used to push records to delta queue, however what goes in XML is entirely upto you.
    You can make an analogy between XML and flatfile; if you want you can put 'delta' data in a file and say it supports delta.
