Xml tool tip on the stage

I have a map which has a number of movieclips placed on stage
(not in root) inside various mcs .
on mouseover on the movieclips, I want the tooltip to
generate via xml. plus the movieclip changes its color highlighting
it.

Hi,
The standard detail navigation does not have a feature to show tooltip, so you will have to implement your own detailed navigation to have a tooltip.

  • Remove Rectangle Tools' size tool tips from the corner

I use the Rectanle Tool a lot and Photoshop CS6 is the first PS version i see displaying some tool tips in the corner every time i draw with it.
    Like this: http://image.bayimg.com/950a1aaf53be690dc9eadf7635aedd4aaf224e9f.jpg
This is very annoying since it overlaps pieces of my black&white images distracting me.
Is there any way to disable it?

Wow. I looked at that page several times and finally i had to google the option to actually notice that drop down menu

  • How to show Tool Tip to the XGlobe Component

    Hi Expert,
I am new to the Xcelsius.I have an requirement and need your valuable inputs.
I am using the XGlobe component, in which i have used alerter on it, by using the pins. I have 200 countries to show on the globe. It is not possible for anyone to remember all those countries from the Globe component and click on that country and get the required value. I am using QAAWS to develop this dashboard
So to make it easy i need to show the tool tip on the pins of the Globe so that i can easily know the country name.
Please help me out on this.
    waiting for your inputs.
    Thanks in dvance,
    Sandeep

    Hi Charles,
Thanks for your reply, I have already used the text box to catch the values from the Globe.
But as there are too many countries (around 200) and everyone is not able to understand the geographical location of the country on the globe, so every time the user needs to click on the pins to get the desired country.
Is there any add ons or an external component which i can use with Globe or anyother way to show the Tool Tip.

    Hi,
We can use JavaScript to achieve it.
The following code for your reference:

  • Change the hover tool tip in the Skin

Currently, the "Close" buttone in the Captivate skin says the word "Exit" when you hover over it.
We changed the SWF so that the X icon is now a checkmark symbol because
we are using the CLOSE button as an insurance policy to send the SCO calls back to the LMS
the close buttone doesnt close the window anyway, an we don't want it it coincidentally, so we certainly don't want it to look like a close (hence we replaced the X with a checkmark) and we don't want the word "Exit" to appear everytime you hover over it (becauase users are already reporting to us that it doesn't do what it says its going to do
Please tell us how to change the word "Exit" to anything else (or nothing at all is fine too).

    Hi,
Can you share the steps with which you replaced the X with a checkmark. May be that can help in research.

  • Bridge CS6 tool tips are blocking the buttons!

When I try to change the layout view (grid, list, etc.) with the buttons on the bottom right, the tool tips appear and I'm not able to click through them. So, basically, when I hover over them, the tool tips are blocking me from doing it.
I look in Prefs for a Tool Tips checkbox and it's not checked right now, but they're still appearing, and still protecting the buttons from being clicked.
Anyone know how to turn them off?
And I have to say this is the most ridiculous problem I ever had with a program. Kinda funny.

I still don't think it's the right checkbox to deactivate interface tool tips as it's in the "Thumbnails" sections of prefs. (And when I switch that on I get tool tips for thumbnails, when I switch it off I do not get tool tips for thumbnails. But the interface tool tips are always consistent.)
Well, I'm again afraid. But this time for my big mouth...
You are very right, I did have a long delay on my machine before the tooltips showed and having the checkbox set to on it seemed directly appearing.
As there are many inconsistencies in Bridge (in fact throughout the whole Suite) this one is very big. Don't have a good alternative short name for it but calling 'show metadata when hovering over' 'show tooltips' is really a very bad approach
The version is CS6 and I'm on a 2009 Mac Pro using 10.6.8 if that matters any.
Thanks, it always matters, especially since this has become a general forum with both Windows and Mac. Different OS and different versions (including detail version number) gives more insight in possible solutions or advice (update etc)
Also, I noticed that if I make Bridge CS6 smaller than the monitor window, then the tool tips over the buttons do not appear over the buttons anymore, but under them instead. The tool tips seem to be set to appear below the mouse pointer.  When Bridge is maximized and the bottom of the Bridge window touches the bottom of the monitor there is no place else for the tool tips to go, so they get pushed up... and cover the buttons.
I always have the Dock in sight hence pressing the green button to enlarge my Bridge window to full screen leaves a small free space and as you well discovered has not your problematic behavior with tooltips over buttons.
I would think Bridge should be able to detect the end of the screen, obviously it does because it knows to move the tool tips up so they don't appear "off screen".
They should use this detection to determine if the tool tips should appear above or below (or away from the screen edge) the mouse pointer.
    Agreed
I'll stop calling it a bug and switch it to "oversight". Bottom line though is the tool tips still block the buttons and shield them from being clicked.
Oversight is the correct word, but besides the above described improvement they really should get rid of the name tooltips in thumbnails and add an option to really hide or show all tooltips as you would expect in a proper application
Thanks for staying tuned and clarify!
While the Bridge team tries to read most of this forum it might be wise to make a feature request for this, are you willing to do so since this is your discovery?

  • Dynamic Tool TIP in Table Control

    Dear Friends,
    Thanks in Advance.
How to implement Dynamic Tool TIP in the Table Control for Particularly One Columnn.
    i.e rows in that Column.
Note : Column contains Currency Type Data
For that column, i am calculating the Quantity Multiplied with the Exchange Rate.
That Calculation should be visible in the Tool TIP.
    Regards:
    Sridhar.J

    Hi
Take Text Element Radio button there  and give any number and activate.
If the Visible lenght of the Table Control Field is less than actual length of the Content, it automatically displays the Tool Tip.
    I just did it.
    Hope this serves your purpose.

  • Form field tool tips & Read Out Loud

I know that having tool tips for form fields in a PDF is a requirement for accessibility. When I use View > Read This Page in Acrobat, the reader does not read the tool tips for the form fields, even though I've turned on Read form fields in Preferences > Reading. I have a both check boxes and text fields on the form.
What do I need to do to have the Read This Page feature read the form field tool tips?
And, if the Read This Page features does actually read the form field tool tips, wouldn't it be rather redundant that it reads the tool tip and then it also reads the text label printed on the form?
Are certain types of form fields considered 'not accessible?'
Thanks for any help you can provide.

What do I need to do to have the Read This Page feature read the form field tool tips?
Sorry, to the best of my knowledge the Acrobat Read Out Loud feature cannot be coaxed into reading form field tips. But you have other options like the PAC 1.3 preview feature and the Callas pdfGoHTML plug in - that let you see the form fields and tips in the context that an assistive technology user would hear them. Or you could use the excellent free screen reader NVDA. Or pay for JAWS.
And, if the Read This Page features does actually read the form field tool tips, wouldn't it be rather redundant that it reads the tool tip and then it also reads the text label printed on the form?
Yes, form field tips can be repetitive. Accessibility rules can be dogmatic. If a form field is labeled and tagged properly and it would be annoyingly repetitive to include a tip, and if you are not constrained by a must-pass-the-dogmatic-accessibility-checker rule, feel free to use your good judgment regarding when it makes sense to leave out the tip.
Are certain types of form fields considered 'not accessible?'
My understanding is that XFA-based PDF forms are problematic from an accessibility standpoint. Standard PDF forms should always be made accessible.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there any option in captivate to capture tool tips

    Hello Friends
I'm using Captivate 4 .is there any option in captivate4 to record the mouse movement so that i can capture the Tool Tips in the software which i am making the Demo.Hope some one will help me..
    Crazdobe

    Hi there,
My preferred method would be to capture the initial screens using Adobe Captivate 4, use an screen grabbing application such as SnagIt or the built-in Windows Vista / Windows 7 Snipping Tool to grab just the tool tips and then insert these as images in Adobe Captivate. This method gives you full control over the tool tips which can be faded in and out using Adobe Captivate's Transition Effects (see screen shot below).
Another way would be to capture the tool tips using FMR (Full Motion Recording). To do this you would simply press F9, roll over the object that includes the tool tip and then press F10 to exit FMR mode. However, it is important to stress that FMR is real-time video and may not be the best solution.
