XML with J2ME`

HELLo all,
i am writing a simple J2ME client for communicating with remote webservices.
when i wrote a similar client 2 years ago i was using kXML....
then i went to use other techs for 2 years... now i m back to J2ME and iw as wondering what was the recommened XML api to use on a J2ME device..
any suggestion?
thanks and regards
marco

forgot to add. cldc does not come with built it
parser. So you will have to create your own, or
simply use a 3rd party one.ya ok, thanx... but i hope these 3rd party ones r different from JSR API's... in the sense that it doesnt OEM's to support it or anything.
and what abt efficiency?
thanx a ton

  • Where can I find a good tutorial for mobile game developement with J2ME ?

    Hi All,
    I'm completely new to J2ME programming. But I have past experience on J2SE developement. Now I would like to know that where can I find a good tutorial for mobile game developement with J2ME ?
    I'll be very greatful if I can find a useful step-by-step tutorial (eg. "The Java Tutorial" for J2SE)
    Please point me ot the direction.
    Thanks
    ZuriJAckshoT

    ibook-widgets.com    have a free tutorial book in the iBooks store.  Search for "Create your first interactive book using iBooks Author"   they also  sell widgets.
    I  dont have any connection - I  found their eBook in the store long ago  and used it to learn more about iBA.
    The best advice though, is be patient,  go back over the process step by step, I cannot  access the Help files for some reason.. but i am sure its in their.

  • Unable to transform XML with XSL in java code

    Hi,
    Could somebody please tell me what's wrong with my code, why it isn't transform the XML with XSL to the output that I want. If I use the command line to transform the XML, it output perfectly:
    java org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -in marc.xml -xsl MARC21slim2MODS.xsl -out out.xml
    Here is the code of my program to transform the XML with XSL, I am using xalan-j_2_2-bin:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import org.w3c.dom.*;

    String xmlResult = "out.xml";
    DocumentBuilderFactory dfactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    dfactory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    DocumentBuilder docBuilder = dfactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document xmlDoc = docBuilder.newDocument();
    Element root = xmlDoc.createElement("collection");
    root.setAttribute("xmlns", "http://www.loc.gov/MARC21/slim");
    xmlDoc.appendChild(root);
    TransformerFactory factory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer transformer = factory.newTransformer(new StreamSource(xslDoc));

    StreamResult output = new StreamResult(fw);

    I am using the same XSL file. My Java program use the same XSL file I used in the command line.
    It is possible that my Java code is using a different parser, but I developed a seperate program to parse the XML using the same parser that my Java code is using. It output the result I expected. Here is the code for the program:

    import javax.xml.transform.stream.*;

    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {

    String xmlDoc = marc.xml";
    TransformerFactory factory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer transformer = factory.newTransformer(new StreamSource(xslDoc));
    StreamSource xmlSource = new StreamSource(xmlDoc);
    FileWriter fw = new FileWriter(new File(xmlResult));
    StreamResult output = new StreamResult(fw);
    transformer.transform(xmlSource, output);
    }

  • How to save as XML with some predefined extensions

    hi All,
    In my application a template has to be created which should contain field headers and their respective field types - example field header LEVEL and field type COMBO BOX. Purpose is - a table will be created based on the fields in the template. Now I want to save this template as XML file with some predefined extension (like .templ). Later in my application i will retreive the saved template and use it to create table.
    How can i save the file as XML with some predefined extension. We are using Swing to create template. Please help me with sample programs to solve this problem.
    awaiting for your mail
    Thank you
    Regards
    MKumar

    In an other post I found my solution thanks to "Peggy" :
    Save As… has returned with Mountain Lion. Hold down the Option/alt key while clicking on the File menu & there it is! It also has a default keyboard shortcut.
    Thank you Peggy

  • Persisting unexplained errors when parsing XML with schema validation

    Hi,
    I am trying to parse an XML file including XML schema validation. When I validate my .xml and .xsd in NetBeans 5.5 beta, I get not error. When I parse my XML in Java, I systematically get the following errors no matter what I try:
    i) Document root element "SQL_STATEMENT_LIST", must match DOCTYPE root "null".
    ii) Document is invalid: no grammar found.

    Hi,
    I found the solution in the following post:
    Validate xml with DOM - no grammar found
    Sep 17, 2003 10:58 AM
    The solution is to add a line of code when parsing:
    try {
    Document document;
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setValidating(true);
    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    factory.setAttribute("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    document = builder.parse( new File(PathToXml) );
    The errors are gone !!!

  • XML with BSP

    Hello,
    I have created a xml file "data.xml" with a string page
    attribut "xml" and the following page layout.
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='iso-8859-1'?>
    <%@page language="abap"%>
    <%=xml%>
    in the event handler "On Request" I set the xml variable
    with the following SELECT statement
    SELECT matkl, bez .....
       REPLACE '<' IN bez WITH ' kl '.
       REPLACE '>' IN bez WITH ' gr '.
       CONCATENATE item '<ITEM>' '<VAL>' matkl '</VAL>' '<DES>' bez '</DES>' '</ITEM>' INTO item.
    ENDSELECT.
    CONCATENATE '<GOODSGROUPS>' item '</GOODSGROUPS>' INTO xml.
    As you can see I use the character encoding "iso-8859-1"
    http://www.validome.org/doc/HTML_ge/inter/zeichensaetze.htm
    My problem is that there are some characters that cannot
    be viewed. Why? And which one? (I found out that there
    are problems to view "<" and ">" and I REPLACED this one)
    Error message in Web browser
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" ?>

    The XML page cannot be displayed

    bellow u can see the whole abap code in the event handler (OnRequest). the variable "xml" contains the whole xml code, which is dynamically generated.
    DATA: matkl TYPE T023-MATKL,
          wgbez TYPE T023T-WGBEZ,
          item TYPE string,
          bez TYPE string,

    item = ''.
    SELECT FMATKL PWGBEZ

      FROM T023 AS F JOIN T023T AS P
        ON FMATKL = PMATKL AND
           FMANDT = PMANDT
    WHERE P~SPRAS = SY-LANGU.
       bez = wgbez.
       REPLACE '<' IN bez WITH ' kl '.
       REPLACE '>' IN bez WITH ' gr '.
       CONCATENATE item '<ITEM>' '<VAL>' matkl '</VAL>' '<DES>' bez '</DES>' '</ITEM>' INTO item.
    ENDSELECT.
    CONCATENATE '<GOODSGROUPS>' item '</GOODSGROUPS>' INTO xml.
    the thing is, everything works without
    the column "wgbez", only in this column are some characters
    which cause troubles. But also in this column there are
    only characters from ISO-8859-1 (Latin-1) character set.
    Thx 4 help!

  • Load XML with flashvars?

    Hey folks
    I have a flash photo gallery that uses XML to tell the flash
    what pics to load in and display. Works really great but I want to
    take it a step further and be able to specify the xml file being
    loaded from HTML. I guess using Flashvars unless there's another
    method that works better?
    in my actionscript, I have this line
    xmlData.load("images.xml");
    and that's telling it to load in the xml file that has the
    info for all the pics
    is there any way to replace that with flash vars and actually
    have it work?
    What we're trying to do is have a different photo gallery on
    each page, and instead of making a separate flash movie & xml
    for each one, we want to just have 1 "gloabal" flash movie and then
    just a different xml file for each different gallery.
    Anyone have any ideas how I can get it to work?
    I know it's probably some easy little thing I keep missing
    :(

    You just need to replace the file name in:
    xmlData.load("images.xml"); with
    your variable name, set by FlashVars. I'd suggest using
    SWFObject to set the
    flash var - it makes it really easy.
    Example:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var so = new SWFObject("gallery.swf", "gallery", "400",
    "300", "8",
    "#FFFFFF");
    so.addVariable("xmlFile", "gallery1.xml");
    so.write("flashcontent");
    </script>Then in Flash:
    xmlData.load(xmlFile);

  • Emulating HTTP POST for file upload with J2ME

    I have search through a lot of site and couldn't find the actual code. I try to emulate below html with J2ME.
    <form method="POST" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="Insert.asp">
    <td>File :</td><td>
    <input type="file" name="file" size="40"></td></tr>
    <td> </td><td>
    <input type="submit" value="Submit"></td></tr>
    </form>
    here is my code :
    HttpConnection c = null;
    InputStream is = null;
    OutputStream os = null;
    byte[] filecontent = file byte content ...
    try {
    c = (HttpConnection)Connector.open("http://xx.com/insert.asp");
    c.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.POST);
    c.setRequestProperty("Content-Length", String.valueOf(cmg.length + 15));
    c.setRequestProperty("Content-type","multipart/form-data");
    os = c.openOutputStream();
    os.write("file=c:\\abc.png".getBytes());
    os.write(filecontent);
    os.flush();
    I can emulate form with text field and it work, but when it come to file upload, above code not working, I don't know what to put for the outputstream, filename ? content ? or both ? since the html only has one field that is the "file" field. The file is actually store in rms with filename abc.png, and I just put in the c:\ for the server as a dump path.

    File upload is more complicated then that... you need multi-part MIME formatting.... But I have just the code...

  • Output XML with a default namespace using XQuery

    I'm having a problem with namespaces in an XQuery within ALSB.
    We receive XML from a file which doesn't have any namespace and have to transform it into a different structure, giving it a default namespace such as below:
    Input XML
    <inputRoot>
         <inputAccountName>Joe Bloggs</inputAccountName>
         <inputAccountNumber>10938393</inputAccountNumber>
    </inputRoot>
    Desired output XML
    <outputRoot xmlns="http://www.example.org/outputSchema">
         <outputAccounts>
              <outputAccountName>Joe Bloggs</outputAccountName>
              <outputAccountNumber>10938393</outputAccountNumber>
         </outputAccounts>
    </outputRoot>
    When I attempt to do this using XQuery mapper tool, I end up with a namespace prefix on the outputRoot. The XQuery and result follows:
    XQuery
    declare namespace xf = "http://tempuri.org/XQueryProject/scratchTransformations/test/";
    declare namespace ns0 = "http://www.example.org/outputSchema";
    declare function xf:test($inputRoot1 as element(inputRoot))
    as element(ns0:outputRoot) {
    <ns0:outputRoot>
    <outputAccounts>
    <outputAccountName>{ data($inputRoot1/inputAccountName) }</outputAccountName>
    <outputAccountNumber>{ data($inputRoot1/inputAccountNumber) }</outputAccountNumber>
    </outputAccounts>
    </ns0:outputRoot>
    declare variable $inputRoot1 as element(inputRoot) external;
    xf:test($inputRoot1)
    Result
    <ns0:outputRoot xmlns:ns0="http://www.example.org/outputSchema">
         <outputAccounts>
              <outputAccountName>inputAccountName_1</outputAccountName>
              <outputAccountNumber>inputAccountNumber_1</outputAccountNumber>
         </outputAccounts>
    </ns0:outputRoot>
    How can I write the XQuery in such a way thay the namespace prefix isn't output? I've tried many different methods with no success. I can't declare a default element namespace because my input element doesn't have a namespace
    Thanks in advance

    I spoke too soon, it didn't work quite as perfectly as I'd thought :-) It turns out our client can't handle the xml with the namespace prefix but we've worked out the solution to return XML in the format we originally needed.
    Example below:
    XQuery
    declare namespace xf = "http://tempuri.org/XQueryProject/scratchTransformations/test/";
    declare default element namespace "http://www.example.org/outputSchema";
    declare namespace ns1 = ""
    declare function xf:test($inputRoot1 as element(ns1:inputRoot))
    as element(outputRoot) {
    <outputRoot>
    <outputAccounts>
    <outputAccountName>{ data($inputRoot1/inputAccountName) }</outputAccountName>
    <outputAccountNumber>{ data($inputRoot1/inputAccountNumber) }</outputAccountNumber>
    </outputAccounts>
    </outputRoot>
    declare variable $inputRoot1 as element(inputRoot) external;
    xf:test($inputRoot1)

  • Error validating xml with xsd schema on JSDK 1.4

    Hi All,
    Asked to me do it a Web Service client in Java and validate its xml answer with an xsd file using 1.4 plataform.
    I googled and I saw many samples to 1.5 plataform, and few samples to 1.4, but anyway I tried to do what they asked to me.
    I got connect with service, got the response and so I went to validate that xml with an xsd file.
    But I got an error on that task. The error occurs in the following line
    "Schema schema = factory.getSchema();"
    Bellow my code
    final String JAXP_SCHEMA_LANGUAGE = "http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage";
              final String W3C_XML_SCHEMA = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema";

  • Content based routing and XML with multiple objects

    I have some structure:
    <contracts>
      <contract>
         <department>1</department>
      </contract>
      <contract>
         <department>1</department>
       </contract>
      <contract>
         <department>2</department>
       </contract>
    </contracts>
    I need to route contract to 2 system based on <department> value:
    contracts/department = 1 --> System1
    contracts/department = 2 --> System2
    Will XI split my XML (based on Content Routing rules in ID) into 2 structures (with departmet=1 and department=2 accordingly) ?
    Or I have to perform 1ToN mapping? I don't like it bacause it will be diffucult to monitor hundred of messages.

    Alternatively if you donot like 1:n mapping and BPM.
    Create two message mappings in the IR
    1.Source :<contracts>
    <contract>
    <department>1</department>
    </contract>
    <contract>
    <department>1</department>
    </contract>
    <contract>
    <department>2</department>
    </contract>
    </contracts>
    Target:
    <contracts>
    <contract>
    <department>1</department>
    </contract>
    <contract>
    <department>1</department>
    </contract>
    Basically mapping generates a target structure which has only department 1.
    2.Same like step1 but the mapping should generate the XML with department = 2.
    Once requires steps are done in the ID , do the content based routing in the reciever determination and give the appropraite message mapping in the interface determination.
    That should your problem and also you will like doing it as it does not involve any split level mapping..:)
