Xmla - Catalog/InfoProvider friendly names

Is there any way to retrieve the friendly name for a catalog/InfoProvider via the Xmla interface?
The catalog schema rowset does not seem to include a column for the frendly name.

I'm pleased to have helped, if you are mailing images all the time perhaps you could create a new folder on the Desktop or in Finder/Username store your images in the folder rename the images click Drag & Drop more than one at a time but don't make the package too big!

SOLUTION:
Iam pointing t0 windows7 os.
1) go to control panel
2) open hardware and sound
3) In that open Devices and printers
4)In that u can find Apple Iphone.
5) now right click on this --> Hardware --> Properties --> General --> Uninstall --> ok.
6) now unplug and plug in ur iphone again.There u go u iphone name changes to its original name.

I am having this problem. At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2. I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps. I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them. The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage. It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup. With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up. The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete. This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems.

SID Showing instead of friendly name after renaming the server

I had to rename a windows 2012 R2 server and after I rename it, Sever is showing SID instead of user friendly name.
Even when I try to add new domain group or user in any resourse of this server, the friendly name disappear, soon after I hit apply button.
So far I have done the following
disjoin/rejoin - same result
disjoin >delete AD account > Rejoin - same result
I confirm that I have see the new server name in AD. DNS is OK too. Could find anything (i think) related to this problem.
I can see the following errors
1. The server {9BA05972-F6A8-11CF-A442-00A0C90A8F39} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout. EVENT ID 10010
2. The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not determine if
the user and computer accounts are in the same forest. Ensure the user
domain name matches the name of a trusted domain that resides in the
same forest as the computer account. . Event ID 1110
3. Netloon server could not add the autZ RPC interface. The service
was terminated. the following error occured. " Not enough sesources are
available to compete this operation Event id 5820
4. The UAC file Virtulatization service failed to start due to the
following error: This driver has been blocked from loading.Event ID 7000
I have not deleted the computer account in the second time. Then
rejoin but this time i didn't get the message but the issue with SID
showing instead of friendly name is still there. These are related , i
can see
I can see the server in the domain and DNS also updated.
When I run GPReuslt, it shows

I feel like, something is blocking the user-friendly name to display in that server. I could be wrong.
I have also noticed that Netlogon service is not running. Try to run, it gives error Error 1721: Not enough resources are available to complete this operation.

Would you please tell us that are all user names displayed as SIDs, or only some of them after you renamed the server?

How to extract email address from Outlook friendly name cache

Hi guys,
A while ago, somebody wrote a little VBA utility to help us to log CRM events. Whenever a user sends an email to a customer, it logs the fact in our CRM database. This is the programmatic process:
1. Grab the email address from ActiveInspector.CurrentItem.To
2. If it's a valid email address, all well and good. Proceed to Step 8.
3. If not a valid email address (it must be a friendly name, perhaps located in Exchange), look for the address in:
ActiveInspector.CurrentItem.Recipients.Item(1).AddressEntry.GetExchangeUser.PrimarySmtpAddress
4. If it's a valid email address, all well and good. Proceed to Step 8.
5. If not a valid email address (it must be in the user's Contact list), look for the address in:
ActiveInspector.CurrentItem.Recipients.Item(1).AddressEntry.GetContact.Email1Address
6. If it's a valid email address, all well and good. Proceed to Step 8.
7. If not a valid email address, then crash!!! <<------------------------------------------------- Here's where I'm stuck!
8. Get the CustomerID from the CRM, based on email address.
9. Do a bunch of other stuff (for example, send the email, and log the event in the CRM).
I'm a former Access MVP, and am highly experienced with VBA, but my forte is clearly not Outlook. What I'd like to do is find the email address by looking in the local cache, and make sure I get the actual email address rather than the friendly name.
I'm not sure if 'local cache' is the right word; I know Outlook stores frequently used email address in some sort of cache, even if the user has not explicitly stored it as a Contact. I just don't know how to find it. Can anyone point me in the right
direction, maybe with a method name?
Also, while mucking about with it, I found the following. Would it be useful in this scenario?

This might help you to figure things out a bit.
The contact cache you are looking for is called the nickname cache, also known as the "autocomplete stream."
The nickname files (.nk2) used by older versions of Outlook (2007 and below).
Outlook 2010 and 2013 does not use the NK2 file; it stores the autocomplete cache in the mailbox or data file and caches the addresses in an autocomplete stream at C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache. The cache is stored in a file
named Stream_Autocomplete_0_[long GUID].dat.
For applications that interact with Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013, the autocomplete stream is stored as a MAPI property and can be modified using the MAPI or the
PropertyAccessor object of the message. The PropertyAccessor object is exposed in the Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013 object models.
Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013 reads the autocomplete stream from a message in the Associated Contents table of the Inbox of the mail account’s delivery store. This hidden message has a message class and subject of IPM.Configuration.Autocomplete. The autocomplete
stream is stored on this message in the PR_ROAMING_BINARYSTREAM property (PidTagRoamingBinary Canonical Property).

Organise catalog by file name

I wish to organize my catalog by file name not by the metadata from the photo. I am scanning all my slides dating back from 1977 to electronic form and do not wish my 1977 photos to appear as 2014 photos. I use a file name of yyyy/mm/dd followed by shot number to organise my photos but I cannot get the organizer to do this!! I do NOT wish to create albums for my library (I have already done that in their file organisation to begin with!) Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Peter

I have seen no Sort By: in version 10,
but I wonder, with the way you have named your files, would it not work for you

b. Setting for Newest or Oldest?

Setting "Friendly name" with keytool

Hi. I run Java 1.4.1 and Tomcat 4.1. Using keytool, I would like to generate a keystore which generates certificates that have a friendly name that I specify. For example, in Internet Explorer, after installing a certificate as a Trusted Root Authority, I would like to go to Tools->Contents tab->Certificates->Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab, and see under the "Friendly name" column the friendly name that I chose for a certificate. I don't see a -genkey option to specify a friendly name in the keytool help. If there's no way to directly change the certificate's friendly name with keytool, I can change the certificate's friendly name in IE. How may I then import the modified certificate into the keystore and have the webserver reference the keystore to return the modified certificate?

Friendly Name is an attribute of the certificate defined in PKCS#9:
5.5.1 Friendly name
The friendlyName attribute type specifies a user-friendly name of the

If you add/change an attribute to an existing certificate its thumbprint (SHA-1 hash) will be changed.
Apparently keytool can't change such attribute, but see its source at the SCSL J2SDK Source code.

Guess I missed a security setting when I upgraded to FF 4.01 - Facebook games can't see my Friends names at all! Very hard to play!

When I upgraded to FF 4.01, I remember having to make a bunch of choices (check boxes) about security. Have NO idea how to change those settings. Ever since upgrading, the Zynga games I play on Facebook don't show any Friends names to send stuff to, and sending & receiving 'stuff' is a major part of the games. The games also show 'Neighbors' on the playing screen; when I try to send a single Neighbor something, it results in an Error screen.

(1) Unless you get better suggestions here and have compelling reason for not doing so,
update to the latest version (10.6.4) using the Combo Updater as follows:
Disconnect all your iPods and other AV peripherals and then restart your Mac.
Then use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions.
Now download and install the Mac OS X v10.6.4 Update (Combo):

Immediately after the restart that completes the update, repair permisssions again.
Then test whether your problem persists.
(2) If you still have problems, reinstall iTunes 10. Use Software > Update... or this weblink:

Go to Settings > Privacy > Contacts and change the setting for "Find Friends" to "ON". That should also allow Find Friends to now access your contacts and dispaly names and photos.

My friends name appears as his friends names. Both...

Why does my friends name appear as some of his friends names? Everytime he logs on and off, his name seems to change from one of his friends name to another. Never his own name. I do not have the users his name gets changed to on my contact list.

Have you checked if AirDrop is detecting another computer? Maybe that computer is the one that has got the name you don't want to use for your MacBook Air. If not, open System Preferences > Sharing, and change the MacBook Air's name

Linux NSS DB Issue with Personal User/Client Certificate Friendly Names.

I have an issue with the NSSDB lib and my browsers in which client certificates I use for an application (Nessus Vulnerability Scanner) show up in the list with the same friendly name/nickname, making it very difficult to distinguish which certificate goes with which server.
Each certificate is generated on a different server with a different hostname but the same username. Upon importing the certificate into my browser, or even the pk12util command, the first certificate will appear correctly. However, importing additional certificates will just reuse the nickname from the first certificate instead of the nickname I chose. I have tested many different scenarios, and it doesn't seem the problem is related at all to the content of the nickname, so I have no idea how to force it to work correctly. I've searched around and found some indications of "nickname conflicts" and things, but nothing that helps me resolve the issue. I'm not sure if it's a bug or if it's some weird condition I've encountered.

Giving user-specific friendly name to network printers

I'm a mere user in an enterprise situation. The printers all have cryptic names (alphanumeric strings) which I'm sure have meaning from the perspective of infrastructure management, but absolutely no meaning for the purpose of a mere user trying to
keep track of which printer on the computer corresponds to which physical computer out in the cube farm. Is there a way for a mere user to create an alias name for the network printer? If it involves administrators of any sort, it will likely not
happen, so a solution that requires only user privileges is preferred. However, I can retain the information for a procedure that requires administrator privileges so that I can opportunistically ask them to do it when the circumstances are right.

No you can't create a local printer that uses a Local Port in the format
\\printserver\printshare on XP as a standard user. This task requires admin access on XP
You would need Windows Vista and greater.
You will not be able to rename the printer connections name in any Windows operating system unless you are admin on the print server at which point you would break existing connection to the server.
A local printer is the better way to go in Windows 7 or 8.

I am testing a WinForms application with Coded UI. I'm trying to understand what the Friendly Name property does.
When viewing a Coded UI Map inside Visual Studio and looking at the properties of a particular control, I see the following items:

Technology Name
Window Titles

When you drag the crosshair on the control, you will view the properties of the control such as FriendlyName property. We can use these propertied to search the control through searchproperties and filterproperties.

Yes if the friendlyname property value is “BtnSubmit”, and you use it to search the control, CUIT will use the “BtnSubmit” when searching the control. CUIT will check some controls based on the searchproperties which you specify. If
