Hi ! When I edit some NEF (RAW) files then Photoshop generates XMP . Is there any way to prevent this ? I do not want to store this files ....
    Thank You .

Yes, you can set Camera Raw to store the settings in a central database instead of sidecar XMP files.
Inside Photoshop go into Edit - Preferences - Camera Raw...
In the General section, change Save image settings in: to Camera Raw database.
I suggest also increasing the Camera Raw Cache size from the default.

  • Multiple apps using same files, how to lock them?

    Hi all,
I have a unique situation (or so I think). We are running our apps in Citrix servers, such that many users log in to a single citrix server and run our java apps. The problem is, it will be possible that more than one user might use the same app and start to work with the same file.
I have seen the new NIO package, read that it has better file locking and stuff. I guess what I am after is a way to graphically display the user using a given file, with some other features. Basically, if user 1 runs the app, and clicks on a file, they have sole access to it. Now, if user 2 runs the same app, what I would like to see if I can do is in user 2's view of the file system, they see somethine like:
    xxxx.txt
    yyyy.xml (user1)
    zzz.bat
So, somehow, I want to update the JList view of each users view either every so often, or when they click on a file that is being used by another, to let them know that it is locked AND the user who has locked it. This way, they can at least ask that user if they can "unlock" their use of it.
Ideally, if there is some way for two or more copies of the same program (running on the same or different citrix servers) could communicate with one another to constantly update each other of file lock status, that would be great. However, if this is more complex than a few hundred lines, it is a rare occassion that this will happen so it is not worth the effot. Mainly, I need to minimally make sure that if a file is locked by one user, when another user tries to use it they are notified that it is locked.
    Thanks.

How about doing file maangement through your server? Keep a database of what files are checked out by whom

  • HMI FILES - HOW TO STOP THEM SHOWING ON EXT HARD DRIVE?

Hi - this was posted on the Nov 8, 2012 2:16 PM and it's still hapening any suggestions
Hi there I'm not sure where to post this one:
I have an external Toshiba Hard Drive that I use to copy film over from my Mac. I sometimes pug it into my Humax PVR and most of the files play What I don't understand is when I watch them via the Humax it creates a 'HMI flle'.  I can see this file sowing up when I connect the drive to my Mac.
Is there a way to prevent this? No biggie, just like to keep this in order.  I'm assumingthe drive is formatted correctly?? MS-DOS (FAT32)
I can't reformat the drive now if it isn't as there are too many files but it would be handy to know for future reference.
    Cheers.

Thank you so much BDAqua. I turn the Time machine off now.
About the format type, Macbook automatically did it. I guess format type is Mac OS Extended. I tried to connect this external HD to Windows PC but the PC cannot recognize it. So, I cannot recover from PC where I have recovery software. Do you have any idea how to let PC recognize this external HD?
I try to find the way but it seems I have to reconnect the HD back to Mac and try to recover on Mac. Is that only way? Do you have any suggestion? Thanks again.

There are are no control files in the directory and I couldn't find them on the disk. Unfortunately, I do not have backups for dbs (this is a staging server). Is there any way we can recover those files or fix the problem ?
Could someone please help us on this?
    Thanks

He is not having any files in that location... not only control files, but the datafiles too.. in that case how is it possible ??? thats why I mentioned like that...
And yes, if the datafiles and redos are located in another location then we can recreate the controlfile.
But since it is a test system, I dont think there will be files in another location...
Please take it that I am not arguing with the GURUS and EXPERTS here..Well thought-out arguments are appreciated!
Perhaps the answer is to ls -l /u01/app/oracle/oradata
Maybe it's TESTDB or some for some other reason testdb really isn't the sid.
If it's a staging environment, where do things come from? If the data files are found on the staging server, but no controlfiles, perhaps alter database backup controlfile to trace on the source server might give something to work with.

  • (1) files, how to delete them

I have several files like "001.jpg" and "001 (1).jpg". I want to get rid of the (1) files, but I do not know how to do it, except by marking each one of them naually. I tried to use Terminal to issue an rm command, but I can't figure out how to do it. For example this command:
    ls -l *\ \(1\)
says that no * (1) file exists. Of course the files are there, I can see them.
Anyone knows how to delete these?

Well, I don't know that ls will take anything but a folder path... but I honestly have never tried giving it a list of files. The rm command should take similar parameters to mv, though I prefer using mv since I can double-check the results before anything gets deleted.
However, the main problem with what you were trying before was the pattern you were using:
    *\ \(1\)
This pattern matches only files ending in a space followed by "(1)". The examples you gave ended in ".jpg", so they would not match.

  • Solaris 11,  shot of  system header files, how to get them

    os env:
    solaris 11 & sun studio12 & GNU gcc
I install solaris 11 with liveCD. but shot of some system header files. for example, modctl.h cred.h...
I install solaris 10 in my virtualbox, system header files are all there.
    question:
How to install lost system header files in solaris11?
of course, I don't want to copy these header files from solaris 10 or opensolaris source code.
    thanks.

to find the package, run pkg search to find which package your file belongs to:
    # pkg search modctl.h
    INDEX ACTION VALUE PACKAGE
    basename file usr/include/sys/modctl.h pkg:/system/[email protected]
now that you know the package name (system/header), you can install it with pkg install:
    # pkg install system/header
    .7/M.

  • Missing fonts in Keynote file : how to replace them ?

When opening a Keynote file that had fonts not installed on the system, an alert window used to open.
You could then easily replace the missing fonts with other ones installed.
    Not anymore !
The alert window still appears in Keynote V6, but the "replace font" option is missing.
Does anyone know a workaround ?

yeah, I tried the whole modifying the master slide thing but the missing fonts aren't on there, they would have come from slides I deleted as well or already replaced the fonts on so not sure why they are lingering....
oh wait...I think I might have just figured out something. The whole "revert to previous version" wouldn't that have something to do with still remembering fonts used in a previous version? I'm going to try and see if I can duplicate the current document in some way that makes it a new version with no history in it.
Other than that I was going to try exporting to '09 do the replace fonts tool that was in there and then open it back up but I'll have to modify the transitions and shadows that were new to current version of keynote.

  • Business Partner Role Buttons - How to hide them

    Hi,
I am trying to implement roles in CRM 5.0. I want some buttons like "Create person" and "Create Group" to be hidden for a certain user. I have used the Object B_BUPA_RLT but still it is not working. Any suggestions ?
    Regards
    Raj

    Hi,
Are you working in PCUI? I believe this would be covered in the model access class/controller class or may be defined in the HTM page. Take a look at that.
If it is 7.0 (the forum is meant for that), you can find it the buttons in the DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT method of the contrller class.
You can hide the buttons as per the auth-object check.

  • I lost my files - How to get them back?

    HI GUYS,
Recently I realized that some videos and picture's files simply disappear from my HD.
I need a Disaster Recovery Software, Quick file recovery
I think it was an accident file deletion or a hardware failure, but not a virus attack!
What should I do or try?
I found some links that says that could help with some softwares:
    http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm
    http://www.easeus-deletedrecovery.com/
Is it the only way to recover my files?
I am a beginner and I have no money and time to pay toshiba to recover my HD. Actualy, it is 4 files, but it is very important for me.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Don't worry. I have a solution for you. Even I faced the same problem few months back but I successfully recovered all my deleted and lost files using Remo Recovery software.
This software works on a complex algorithm, scans your entire drive/partition and list outs all the files/folders or images or audio/video files either in data view or file type view. You can also recover files from FAT or NTFS file system.
Free demo version is available in company site, where you can get complete information about product and the free version.
Give it a try.. All the Best.

  • Physcially export XMP files

    Hello,
I have lightroom 5 on windows 7. My boss and I couldn't get smart previews to work a few days ago so he sent me his NEF files with XMP files. I imported them, made my edits, and sent the XMP back to him again. I have the option "automatically write changes into XMP" checked and I have done "cntrl -s" several times to force Lightroom to write the changes. However, when my boss syncs the XMP there are no edits that I have made. Can I physially make Lightroom generate new XMP with my changes?

Ideas of what might be wrong:
You’re doing Save Metadata to File (singular) rather than Save Metadata to Files (plural).  Right-clicking on one of the selected thumbnails in the thumbnail bar or library grid is enough to do all Files, not just the image right-clicked on.
The permissions of the files are not read/write for your user, due to how the copy was done, so the XMP files cannot be updated.  I would expect an error message in this situation but I’m not sure if LR does or not.
My #1 guess would be that the type of import you did was not an Add, which it should have been, but a Copy, and as such the images and XMPs you’re looking at are still his original files rather than your copy of them that got moved to another location.  You can right-click on one of your images and do Show in Explorer and see where yours are.
Do an Export with Original as the filetype with your copy of his images selected to some other folder in and see if you get better XMPs this time.

  • Why is Bridge creating XMP files in CS6?

I'm using the CS6 beta on a new set of photos.  All I've done so far is batch rename all the files (all raw, all CR2) and edited the IPTC metadata - to add my name, the project name, etc.  Now I've got a side-car file for every photo.  CS5 just included this stuff in the original file, why not CS6?

    Hi,
The 'Camera Raw Database' is written to a local directory on your machine, and won't travel (without an extra step) if you copy the CR2 file to another machine. If you use DNG then the metadata will be stored in the file.
If you store the camera raw settings in the Camera Raw database and plan to move the files to a different location (CD, DVD, another computer, and so forth), you can use the Export Settings To XMP command to export the settings to sidecar XMP files.
You may have been using, and wanting, sidecar .xmp files, but just had them hidden in previous Bridge versions. To hide the .xmp file from the Content panel's display, go to View> Show Hidden Files and toggle the checkmark OFF, by selecting it.

  • How to hide options from InfoView's "Schedule Report Page"?

    Hi,
We are using Business Objects XI R2 InfoView (Java version) to schedule the reports.
Whle schedling the reports, schedule page displays the following option to the users -
    1. When
    2. Database Logon
    3. Filters
    4. Destination
    5. Format
    6. Print Settings
    7. Server Group
    8. Events
    9. Parameters
And I need to display only three options (When, Format and Parameters) to the user and want to hide the rest of the options from the user.
Please let me know how to acheive this using the InfoView (Java version)?
    Thanks,
    Vicky

    Thanks for the reply.
I do not want the user to enter / change the database logon information and other setting of the report. As I set those info using the CMC.
And writing the our own pages using SDK will take lots of efforts and require java professionals for that.
I only need to hide those options please let me know how to hide them.
    Thanks.

  • How to hide parameters showing up in browser when using jsp?

I am a jsp newbie. I have a simple form like this:
    <form type=post action="http://localhost:8080/MyTestServer/TestCodes.jsp">
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td>Your name <INPUT type=text name="YourName" value="Your Name"></td>
    <td>Your ID <INPUT type="password" name="YourID" value="Your ID"></td></tr>
    </table>
    <br><input type="submit" value="Submit">
    </form>
and part of TestCodes.jsp codes are simply like this:
    String name=request.getParameter("YourName");
    String ID=request.getParameter("YourID");
    It works fine.
However, my problem is, in the browser, it shows like:
    http://localhost:8080/MyTestServer/TestCodes.jsp?name=John&ID=12345
I dont want those parameters are shown in the browser.
Pls tell me how to hide them. Thanks a lot.

Your form is written wrong. "type" is not the right attribute.
<form method="post" action="http://localhost:8080/MyTestServer/TestCodes.jsp">Since no method attribute was given, the browser defaulted to GET. Also note that you should always quote your attribute values.
You should read up on GET and POST. There's a little more to it than whether parameters are "hidden" or not.

Hi everyone, i'm just starting with jdeveloper10g (10.1.3) and i'm wondering why, when i build my application, jdev puts all the classes in [applications/workspace/project/application sources].

You can set this up by using the Working Sets feature in your project properties.
