Can you please explain how XMPP integrates with existing Presence Engine and SIP Proxy services? You have great examples in your book with log files that explain how Presence Engine communicates with SIP Proxy service, so I would like too see same examples with XMPP, PE and SIP Proxy. Thanks

I was noticing the same today. I have been running this on my Mac Pro circa early 2008. At the time I notice some sluggish I had three items using over 5 GB of real memory. kernal_task, iTunes, and Safari. I did a formal "quit" for iTunes & Safari which reduced the memory down (iTunes was 1.3GB and Safari was 2.0GB). Here is a screen capture of what is right now. The kernel_task is at 2.01GB.
At time of this screen capture my uptime has been:
up 4 days, 23:37, 2 users, load averages: 1.56 1.70 2.04
The specs of the Mac Pro is with a lot of hard drive space on the boot drive (50% free) which is mostly my main account user data. Applications files and other data is actually on a second drive which is also at 50%. Drive 3 & Drive 4 are RAID 0 used for Time Machine. RAM is 32GB as the picture denotes.
I have a MacBook Pro (circa 2011), iMac 27" i7 (circa 2009), and Mac Mini (circa 2010) which don't have any large kernal memory usage.

No SOUND on Youtube and other streaming services.

Hi, I updated my 2011 MacBook Pro to OSX Yosemite.
My only problem is: when I play the video on YouTube or other straming services I have to wait 5-10 second to hear the sound from the video.
Sometimes i have to reload the page. Very annoying.
Is there a fix for that? Is that new Safari fault?

1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button
2. Install Adobe Flash Player
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    Download Adobe Flash Player, quit Safari from the menu bar and install Flash Player.
    Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.

Discussions relating to MDX and other Analysis Services or OLAP questions

In my Analysis services i have DimGeography, DimCustomer, DimDate dimemsions and Sales measure group.
By using above cube i have created SSRS report for the Area wise sales.
DimGeography will contains the region values.(East, West, North, Souuth,.....)
DimGeography will contains the Customers details.
Now the the requirment is for few customers we have to devide the Region wise sales based on customers.
For example
in case of Customer_1, the sales will be 10% East, 30% West, 25% Notrth, 35% South..
in case of Customer_2, the sales will be 15% East, 40% West, 20% Notrth, 55% South..
in case of Customer_n, the sales will be 30% East, 30% West, 25% Notrth, 15% South..
The above persentage values will change for every quarter. We will generate report as per new values only. We are not considering old values. We will store these values in Table and will update every quarter These table not having in Cubes.
Can you please suggest me how to impliment this logic in Report.

Thank you both for your comments, I had previous discussed this & the issue with the wrist strap, I'll have to find those comments & repost as advised by nokia support.
So the sensor isn't idea, the inner ear canal exists unfortunately the sensor cannot deal with it when the sensor goes over the ear under those circumstances. I'll have to repost those comments soon.

Can't connect to software update and other online services with airport

Hello, hopefully someone can help with this problem. When going to use software update using airport I get an error message saying there is a network problem and it can't connect. Also, when trying to use Microsoft Messenger it can't connect either way.
I can connect and use the internet using airport and apps such as iChat and Entourage work.
Can someone tell me why I can't connect to Apple's Software update service through airport?

Is your network configuration something like the following:
DSL/Cable modem > (Ethernet cable) > [WAN] AirPort Extreme Base Station > (wireless) > MacBook?
...and, if so, you are able to get to Software Update when connecting your MB directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the LAN port of the AEBS...correct?
Since, you stated that you are using port forwarding, I assume that you have setup your MB with a static IP. Do you have any Proxies setup on either/both your Ethernet or AirPort connections on the MB?

10.4.4 - Lost Salling Clicker and other bluetooth services

Just upgraded to 10.4.4 and I cannot connect to the Mac using Salling Clicker. Tried reinstalling the device in System Prefs > Bluetooth. After pairing it says "There were no supported services found on your device." Prior to this I was able to pair, select access internet thru the phone, etc. Using a Treo 650. Anyone else with this or a solution?
Oh yes, I can still send files to the Treo.

Philip - I made a request over at Salling but this really looks like an upgrade problem with Apples Bluetooth. The Clicker forum had a recommendation that I've not yet had a chance to try. You can check it out here:

Skype and Other VOIP services not working on my N...

Hi,
I got a new Nokia Lumia Icon with Verizon Wireless contract. I installed skype and when trying to make International Voice calls, all I see the blue backgroud with Skype call outgoing icon and then nothing happens. Sometimes, the call gets active as in it shows the seconds counter of the call,but nobody can here anything on either side of the call. I do have some credit balance in my Skype account.
I tried re-installing the app but to no avail.
I tried with both Wifi and Mobile data
Also, I installed Nimbuzz- a VOIP service and when tried to make calls, it behaved similar to above.
Previously, I had an Android device and when I tried to make same International mobile calls now in it, I am able to connect and talk without any issues. I also chatted with an Skype support team and they also couldn't help much. They said that I am reporting such type of issue for first time and told that one of their tech specialist will get in touch with me once they have completely assessed the issue. I haven't gt any response though.
Is anyone else facing issues with VOIP apps in Lumia Icon?
Also, are there any fix for these issues?

Thanks for posting your concern, Win_Phone. Do you have a stable internet connection when trying to make a call? Have you tried accessing any website using the phone's browser to verify the stability of the connection? Have you also tried connecting to another available Wi-Fi network to check if there's any difference? About the audio, does it happen as well if there's a headphone connected to your phone? BTW, do you also have an issue when you are not using the Skype app?

I had a bad surprise today on my AppleTV. When I started AppleTV, the main screen now only showed Settings and Computers icons. I do not see Music, Movies, Netflix, NHL, etc. icons anymore. What is the problem and how can I fix it?

After chacking my Apple TV menu I can only find "Reset" and "Restore", but no "Restart". So how can I perform a "Restart"?
Finally, is there a sequence for the restart process (i.e. router before device)? Presently, my iPod connects with Internet perfectly.
And if you still got time, what caused that problem so I can avoid it in the future?

WCF and stock quote services

Does anyone know of a service or website that supplies information on stocks (similar to what Yahoo finance shows in its website) but that would be accessible via a Windows Communication Foundation program.
For a time I used http://www.webservicex.net/stockquote.asmx but they no longer respond either at the program level on as a website.
I would need to access the service using Windows Communication Foundation.
I use Vs2008 Professional and the C# language.

Your location is determined from a location database which contains the MAC addresses of routers and their physical location. A MAC address is a unique number which is built-in to all network devices when manufactured. The database is built and updated by actually driving around and mapping router locations.
Since you just moved the location of your router has not been updated in the database and when you use Maps you will see your old location.
If you go outside your house you can be correctly located because your iPod sees other routers which are in the location database. Note that you do not need to be connected to a router for your iPod to see it and obtain its MAC address.

You can't directly, you can watch them via AirPlay from your iOS device or Mac Computer though.

and check status database , service and etc...
use crs_stat

use srvctl command, help to start

Configuring PerformancePoint Service and other BI when you're on an O365 Sharepoint site

Sharepoint online is great. Easy to use. relatively stable. But I cannot find any protocol, in absence of having access to Central Administration (how I wish I did), to configure PPS and other elements I need to begin leveraging reporting and dashboards.
Does anyone know how I do this? Do I have to hand feed the steps to some CIM Sharepoint Tier engineer to execute for me? Or is there another way.

O365 does not support the traditional BI features (PerformancePoint, Excel Services with connected data sources, PowerPivot to external data sources, etc). The reasons for this are numerous (no connections back to data centers, use of claim tokens, use of
shared webapps and therefore shared app pool accounts, etc).
For several reasons, this is why MS is pushing "PowerBI", which is a separate half-answer to the whole hosted BI issue. But this is NOT the same as PPS/etc.
If you want BI, you need on-prem (or hybrid, where the BI components are on-prem).
