Xorg 1.8 moves to extra

This release works with udev for input hotplugging and supports /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/*.conf as a replacement for the hal .fdi files. After upgrading to this release, configuration for input devices in hal is ignored. Documentation about this change can be found on:

Nvidia-173xx and -96xx drivers currently don't support the new Xorg release. We recommend using the xf86-video-nouveau driver package for now.

Purchased movie + iTunes Extra
I've purchased a movie from the store which included the iTunes extra.
After downloading both files sucessfully; looking at them in movies I see that they haven't bundled up; as in the movie file is seperate from the extra. So i have 2 icons instead of 1. Why is this? The rest of the movies with extras have bundled up into 1 icon/tab.

Checking to see if I have all my movies download and backed and realized I noticed a duplicate of a purchased movie. Thor: The Dark World plus the iTunes extras. I switched view all duplicates and also include purchased iTunes movies.

Purchased Movies (with Extras) will not Play in iTunes
So I have OS 10.7.4 and the most current version of iTunes. Lately, my purchased movies will not play in iTunes. When I double click on them, it goes to play them, but just freezes on a black screen as if paused. When I hit play, it flashes immediately back to pause. The chapters are all there (with the corresponding clip from that chapter of the movie). Ironically, these play fine on our aTV and iDevices where chapters/extras aren't used--this is only a problem on the computer playing through iTunes. The actual files are present and, as mentioned, they sync just fine to the iPads, etc. Any thoughts on why this is happening? Sometimes it would be nice to play them on the computer itself.
Yes the computer is authorized (and I deauthorized then reauthorized it). I've "Consolidated Library" and "Checked for Available Downloads". Also non iTunes purchased movies (those from DVD's I own) ripped in Handbrake work just fine and play. Also OLDER purchases without the Chapter screen play just fine.

Movies with iTunes Extras show only HTML code and not title screen when double clicked.
I only noticed this after some iTunes updates. Any movies that have iTunes Extras donot show the "Title Screen" when double clicked. They only show HTML script. I can still watch the movies, and can access the extras by going to the folder they are in, but thats a pain. I have purchased other movies with extras since encountering the problem and have the same issue. I run windows Vista on a 32-bit system. I have all updated drivers. I have searched the web for an answer but couldnt find anything. It is prob something insanely easy. Any help would be appriciated.

Go into "Get Info" and set the Album name to the name of the movie for both the movie and the "Extra". This will fix it. -
Movie and iTunes Extras Split into Two FIles
I download most movies on my Windows 7 machine. It downloads just fine as does downloading movies on my two Macs. Things get a little weird when I use the iTunes feature "Show items not in my library" to keep all the copies of iTunes with the same downloads. When I copy from one machine to another, the movie icon in the Movies Library on the receiving machine breaks into two identical icons with different file names. For example, The Last Airbender - iTunes Extras & The Last Airbender. Is there any way for me to get these things to fuse back together?

When you download iTunes Extras movies, the extras will be downloaded to your iTunes Music/Downloads/Movie_Subfolder. The actual movie usually is in the iTunes Music/Movies/Movie_Name folder. Go back to the Downloads/Movie_Subfolder and cut and paste the files from the .tmp folder into the same folder as the iTunes Music/Movies/Movie_Name folder. -
How can I download a movie onto my iPad without the iTunes extras or in SD?
I have been trying to download or transfer some of my movies to my iPad, but with all the new iTunes extras some of the movies are 5GB or more now which is crazy. Is there a way to transfer the movies without these features, so that I have more space?
I had the same question as was asked here, and I see that if I turn off my Wi-Fi on my iPad I can no longer access the iTunes Extras. However, if the extras are streaming-based, why is the file size of movies with Extras so much larger than those without? Any other HD movie with a similar running time is between 1.5 and 2.5GB, all with Extras are between 3.5 and 5GB. The problem isn't the Extras, its the lack of space on my iPad.

Errors when downloading itunes extras for movies
what do i need to do to get some itunes extras to download on my computer? I keep getting an error message of (err= -19) but when i go to retry to download them it just goes back to the error message.
I have just received an e-mail from Apple iTunes Support and they have issued me with a FULL refund of the purchase price of Avatar and the ( seemingly ) unobtainable iTunes Extras!
I seemed to be getting nowhere after Apples iTunes Support put me through the ringer making me re-try the download ( twice! ); delete my downloads folder and re-try the download AGAIN; and finally having to re-setup my old HP DV7 laptop ( I'm currently using a 17" MacBook Pro Retina ) and retry the download yet AGAIN!
Needless to say the outcome in each case was exactly the same! Avatar the movie downloads perfectly and The Extras file fails at zero% with TWO error 8003s!
Through all this I did everything, no matter how seemingly stupid it seemed that was asked of me and CONTINUED to insist that the fault was on their side and NOT mine!
iTunes support have finally advised me that they don't know when or even IF the file will be checked/repaired and in view of that and that I am a valued customer ( I'd want to be after buying 1.5TB of Music, Movies and TV Shows ) that they would refund me the FULL price I paid for the Movie and Extras!!
So, I would urge ALL of those who have written to this forum to write again to iTunes Support and DEMAND full refund for a faulty product ( the Movie PLUS Extras ), citing MY SUCCESS as precedent for that refund.
I'm saddened that it seems impossible to make Apple fix this file, but at the very least we should be re-imbursed for our trouble ( and our ability to put up with sh*t <sigh> )

Get earplugs or plug in your iPod or be very nice to your neighbors and ask them to turn down the sound. Reminds me of a very obnoxious contractor who had an answering machine (years ago), which he kept at top volume. During one of his frequent absences, a fellow contractor removed the phone line from the back of the machine, silencing the machine as well as the phone... was several weeks before the contractor realized that he wasn't getting calls and a several days more before he figured out why...guess he wasn't real strong on problem analysis and correction...the silence was wonderful while it lasted. -
ITunes Movie Extras stopping with error -19
After download completes for a Movies iTunes Extras package, the program processes the download package and then stops with an Error = -19
Does anyone know what this error is or how it can be corrected? I've searched everywhere and haven't seen any information about this.I've had this problem myself recently with 2 Blu-Ray films which came with iTunes copies. Both films downloaded fine, but the iTunes Extras for both fail to complete with the same error code.
I've been in touch with Apple who responded really quickly, and they have basically solved nothing. They gave me a small walkthrough to do which I was unable to complete because one step required removing a folder from my machine which didn't exist in the first place. The same person has been back in touch with me 3 times now, following it up (which is nice of them at least, they don't just forget about the problem) but the problem persists to the point where I'm convinced it will never be fixed, as the Customer Service rep has basically had me retry the same thing over and over...
I'm at the stage where I'm willing to just concede defeat, at least I have the extras on Disc too I suppose.
I'm just about to reply to his last email asking if the problem was still there, if I get anywhere further I'll be sure to let you know! But I'd suggest trying to email them yourself too and see if the reply you get actually works! -
My itunes won't let me finish downloading one movie and another movies "itunes extras" it keeps asking me for my password, starting to download and then a few moments later it says stopped (err = 8003) How can I get it to just finish?
I realize this post is from quite some time ago, but it showed up as relevant in my own search to resolve this problem. So hopefully my answer will be equally visible and thus helpful.
Select the movie file within iTunes (not the actual file(s) in the finder) and drag it to the desired location on your external hard drive. While doing so, you'll notice an indicator showing that you're in fact moving two files: the movie (m4v) file and the associated Extras (ite) file.
The first time I attempted this process, I selected the files within the Finder and dragged them to the external hard drive. I was able to play the movie itself from this location, but the Extras wouldn't play. After spending a considerable amount of time searching for a solution I tried the afore mentioned and it worked.
No promises, but hopefully this will work for some of you out there and save you some time and frustration.

Movie artwork and movie extras disappear from iTunes. How do I fix this?
When downloading a movie from iTunes store the movie artwork image will appear as intended for the remainder of the download, but once finished the artwork disappears and does not allow you to add artwork yourself. Same happens for movies with Extras, but it is the entire extra that disappears from iTunes and the only way to get to it is actually visit the movie folder located within the iTunes folder on my computer. This is an obvious issue to the most recent iTunes update because all movies downloaded prior have the artwork still. Also, any movies added other than purchasing through iTunes allow me the abillity to add or change artwork.
I have not been able to find any post similar to this situation other the most recent update to iTunes was rushed and not properly tested as a lot of other posts suggest unique issues that are annoying.
If someone knows how to solve this issue it would be much appreciated.Hello daddyleon75,

Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

Apple TV Cannot Play Movies with iTunes Extras
For some reason, when I click on a movie in iTunes (downloaded from the iTunes Store), it plays the iTunes Extras by default, not the movie. I noticed the problem when I could not get my ATV2 to show these movies via Home Sharing. The affected movies do not even show up on my ATV2 via home sharing. Does anyone have any idea what is causing the iTunes Extra file to be the default playback file for a movie? Movies in my iTunes library that don't have iTunes Extras play just fine in iTunes and on my ATV2.
Go to your itunes library on computer and highlight the Movies category, try to find the movie - then right click and 'Show in Finder' (or Windows equivalent to view the actual movie files).
For each movie with extras you should have:
MovieName.m4v (main feature)
and
MovieName - iTunes Extras.ite (extras files)
You should actually see an entry for each in itunes grouped together.
