    Hi,
Just to double check, go into Device Manager, right click on either problem device and select Properties.  Click the Details tab, choose Hardware Ids from the dropdown box and post back with the details shown under Value.

  • T61 USB Human Interface Device drivers not loading after undocking

I have a T61 and after I undock (correct method, by pressing the eject button on the docking station and waiting for it to turn green) the laptop from my advanced docking station, the external mouse does not work.  More specifically, this is the error message that I can see in the USB Human Interface Device with the yellow ! in Device Manager.
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38) "
Is there a fix for this? If I reboot the laptop then I can get my external mouse to work because the drivers  can load, but I don't want to have to reboot after undocking.

Regarding your keyboard problem, it seems to be a very low-level problem. The driver cannot access the Control Registers on the Keyboard. By going down from your error message to the lowest level, one can see that it's probably a simple "outb" operation (write data on a specified address, shouldn't fail if the address is correct...) that doesn't succeed.
So I think you defintely need to look in your BIOS if you didn't deactivate something when upgrading, or messed with some address space, or many things I cannot think of right now.
    Good luck

  • W7/64 USB Drivers not loading on boot-up

Installed W7/64 onto clean SSD with all ThinkPad items added and updated off the Driver Matrix (W500).
Using with 2503 Dock I have up to 13 USB devices attached .. just like in former WXP-SP3 setup.
Now when I start the system, only my Logitech LASER mouse (with USB transceiver) driver loads ... ALL others have yellow flag (not loaded). Strange is that this even affects my expansion slots ... that don't register until  USB flagged drivers are manually updated.
Further I looked in the windows/system32/drivers folder and none of the several USB driver files are present.
Is there a way to repair this situation without the agony of reinstalling everything.
    Please, advise.

OS X Lion on a Mac Mini with Microsoft Intellimouse
Installation worked with no errors but now when I boot up the mouse cursor is at the top left of the screen and refuses to work until I manually unplug it and push it back in again. Annoying to say the least.
Have you tried another mouse?  Have you tried a different USB port?  If the mouse is plugged into a hub, have you tried plugging directly into the Mac?
Also the scroll-reversal option is missing from the relevant control panel.
    Any sensible suggestions?
To confirm, can you screen shot the Mouse System Preference?
If all else fails, you can install Scroll Reverser.  It was for Lion developers to get accustomed to the Lion-style scrolling before Lion was released, but it works just fine in Lion for these unusual situations.  (e.g.: older Macbook Pro without a multitouch trackpad.)

  • Fglrx drivers not loading after update to Kernel 3.7.3

    Hi,
I just updated to kernel 3.7.3 and the fglrx module isnt loading. I just read the catalyst wiki page again and I didnt install the catalyst-hook package or add fglrx to /etc/mkinitcpio.conf hooks array.
    Not sure what todo?
    Thanks.

nirvanix wrote:I just reinstalled the catalyst-dkms package and then it worked again.
Excellent thanks. I didnt want to go messing around and screwing it up but that was simple enough. I also installed the catalyst-hook package and linux-headers for next time. Hopefully wont be a problem.
    Thanks.

  • X-FI xtrememusic drivers not loading problem - having to reinstall drivers every other reb

I am having a bizarre problem with my xtrememusic card. Latest drivers and all, the motherboard is a gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 (rev .0). Basically, I install the drivers and reboot, the card works fine. I reboot, it stops working, gives me a "can't load drivers" error. Rebooting doesn't change this. Reinstall the drivers again (which requires a reboot) and it works, until I reboot, etc.
Any ideas? Very frustrating. This is a new install of XP/SP3 - but before I rebuilt the computer I had the same setup (hardware/OS) and it worked fine, no hardware changes.

I had the same problem, also with a Gigabyte board. Try to remove all other PCI Cards ...
    Does it work?
Maybe you can than add one after the other.
For me it looks like, that the board or windows does randomly change the IRQ's and Memory Spaces ..
I got the same problem also with my PCI TV Card ...so it doesn't looks like a X-Fi only Problem.
    Don't know why.

  • T530 with 2 display adapters - NVIDIA NVS 5400M and Intel HD Graphics 4000 Drivers not loading

Both the Nvidia and Intel graphic drivers show in device manager that they have problem and can't load properly. I have tried uninstalling both they both reinstalled on a reboot with same issues. Is this hardware or corrupt drivers?? Or?

Failure progressed to a point where I could login remotely (GoToAssist) and see the screen but the LCD and External Monitor both were black.
Called tech support, they dispatched a tech (after 3 days, and a bunch of phone calls).  They replaced the system board and display board?  same problem.  Their answer was I needed to reimage the machine.
I found out that Windows had done an update.  We did a system restore to before the update (30 some updates) and restored the local displays.
BUT....both the NVidia and Intel HP Graphics devices in Device Manager indicate problems.  And this was after reinstalling the video drivers I pulled down from Lenovo.
Any thoughts on where I go next??  Lenovo has washed their hands of this problem....
I am about to wash my hands of Lenovo as a vendor for PCs.

  • Drivers not loading on Windows XP for ENET-485.

I'm no dummy or I wouldnt have gotten this fare. Checking "device manager" and the "diagnostic utility" I cant seem to get my newly purchased NI-485 to work on my Windows XP machine for lack of recongnized drivers. I cant even fine the ".inf" file myself. Any ideas? Software package loaded just fine, several times.

Thanks for the kind reply. However I still have the problem, after a few weeks of hacking at I seem to understand what the problem is but I cant seem to fix it. I see it with the diagnostic utility, as it if fails identify the right ports, and I can see the ports assigned in the device manager, but the devices are failing to actually connect as a com port. Ie any programs cannot see the actual com port as the device mananger has them assigned. I've tried this on two different computers now,two different OS's same results. I'm convinced it's something I'm doing wrong on the set up.

  • [SOLVED]Virtualbox drivers not loaded at startup

I followed the wiki and added vboxdrv to my DAEMONS. The only change is that I start it in the background. However, when I start Virtualbox, and then the guest OS within, it gives me an error.
    DAEMONS=(syslog-ng @net-profiles @dbus !sshd !netfs @crond @alsa @acpid @ntpd @vboxdrv)
    I have to manually
    modprobe vboxdrv
in order to start the guest OS. How can I have the vboxdrv started at boot?
also, is there a way to start the guest OS directly, without having to start the Virtualbox console?

    Inittab:
    # Runlevel 5 starts X environments
    x1:5:once:/bin/su work -l -c "/usr/bin/startx -- :11 vt11 > /dev/null 2>&1"
    x2:5:once:/bin/su windows -l -c "/usr/bin/startx -- :10 vt10 > /dev/null 2>&1"
    x3:5:once:/bin/su windows -l -c "/usr/bin/VBoxManage startvm Ama --type vrdp > /dev/null 2>&1"
The first two start new X sessions, user "work" on vt11 and user "windows" on vt10. The third starts an RDP headless VirtualBox VM as user "windows". When the two X sessions start, they execute ~/.xinitrc (each of ~work/.xinitrc and ~windows/.xinitrc):
    #!/bin/sh
    # ~/.xinitrc
    # Executed by startx
    VirtualBox
This starts the VirtualBox GUI so I then switch to vt11 or vt10 and select a VM to run. Note each of ~windows/.VirtualBox and ~work/.VirtualBox are completely separate VB configs owned by the separate accounts.
Note that I don't bother with a window manager because I run the VMs full screen anyway, but you can start one if you want within .xinitrc.
You can change "VirtualBox" in .xinitrc to start a specific VM using VBoxManage startvm "MyVMName"
    Hope this helps.

    Hey guys,
since i played about 5-6 hours yesterday without any issue i figured something out..
This morning i restarded my laptop and wanted to see if gaming is still working, but it isnt... and then i took a look into msi afterburner and found this:
    http://i.imgur.com/6UrJqbh.png
    and this: http://i.imgur.com/n47bQw6.png
Could it be the issue that games wont work properly?

This Afterburner version is too outdated for that gpu/driver version. Try the latest beta 3.0.0 beta 14: >>MSI Afterburner<<

  • Question re xorg.conf

    Hi,
I was away for a few days and this morning did a pacman -Suy.  One of the things loaded was xorg7.  I had some trouble with nvidia and finally got it runing.  Unfortunately it's running on my old xorg.conf. If I try the new one, the colors on my wallpaper are all washed out and my fonts etc are weird. I have read and re-read teh Wiki but don't follow. Was the wiki written while xorg7 was still in testing?  It seems like soem of the stuff it talks about are already done.  Should I continue running on the old xorg.conf and if not, what should I do to get the new one working??
    Thanks
    Jim

  • X running without xorg.conf

    Hi,
I've installed the ati-glrx-beyond package with the ati drivers and noticed that my xorg.conf was gone (not sure if it was there in the first place):
    find / -name xorg.conf

Anyway, X runs fine, with the correct resolution and everything (no direct rendering though). The problem is that I can't configure it with aticonfig (as the configuration file isn't there)...running Xorg -configure crashes with the following message:

A bug in the ATI drivers prevents you from using autoconfiguration. You could move away the fglrx driver file or uninstall the ATI driver temporarily and use Xorg -configure to generate a generic config using the vesa or vga driver first, then move the things back in place and use aticonfig to generate the ati-specific xorg.conf.

  • [SOLVED] Dual Monitor / General Xorg.conf Issue

I cannot get my second monitor to work. It is a Dell SE198WEP. My other [working] monitor is a Dell SE198WFP. I suspect my xorg.conf file is not good, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Thanks for any help.

I simply use xrandr to use dual heads like this. Here's my xorg.conf which defines the 2 monitors and their resolutions. Then a simple xrandr command to set up the screens. Works great in i3

    Driver "ati"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"

    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"

    Option "DPMS" "true"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"

    Device "ATI Technologies HD2400XT Pro"
    Monitor "DVI-0"

    EndSubSection
    EndSection
and then in .xinitrc before starting my wm
    xrandr --output DVI-1 --auto --right-of DVI-0
