XP 1600 Dead? (MS 6330 Ver5.0)

Howdy all!
Let's hope I've missed something here. I've recently put the following system togethr:
K7T Turbo2 Bios 3.5
Enermax 431W PSU (+3, +5 220W Combined)
256 MB Apacer (Infineon) RAM PC 133
XP 1600+ (Locked, not OC'd) 45C 100% Load
40Gb Maxtor 7200RPM
Alpha PEP66 w/ Delta Fan
The system wen't together fine, installed Win Xp no prob and ran fine for over a week. Then, I started to get some random lockups and reboots (nothing new installed). Well, now the XP 1600 won't even post (I saw a glimpse of a BSOD during boot before it stopped working). I slapped in a Duron 900 and it posts / boots okay (even at 1050Mhz), but I still get random reboots. Temps seem fine (Duron: 51C @ 100%), I've reflashed the Bios, I'm running Win Xp on the last known good config. Everythign is running at fail safe defaults and it still doesn't work right.
Any ideas?  ?(
TIA!!!

Yah me too...but I am lucky to have the problem temporary fix.
I have to reassemble the whole devices and reset all bios couple of times before it run back normal but my Vcore always drop to the lowest limit when I start to play games.
Here a description of my problem that I have planned to write here but since you have the same problem..so let me post my problem  :P
I have 2 Hard Disks, 1 CD-Rom & 1 CD-RW, 1 floopy, 3 PCI cards(Display, Sound and NIC).
AMD processor 900MHz with original fan, 2 Blower fans. MSI MS-6330 board (K7T Pro 2).
Using a 235 Watt power supply(Not an overclocker).
How come my VCore always drop to the lowest limit as indicated by PC Alert III ?
It start with 1.72V and gradually reduces to the lowest which is 1.55V. If I just use the PC for light weight processes such as surfing, the VCore reduces slowly and may not reach the lowest but if I begin to play games, it drop to the lowest in just a minute and the alarm begin to sounds and because I don't have any knowledge of what VCore is, I shut down the PC immediately.
Anyone know how to solve it? All setting about voltage in my Bios is set to default.
And what is the effect if it is too low or high?
I experienced sudden system restart a few days ago when I ignored the PC Alert and turn it off, then when I restart my PC again, it just restart again before all my startup programs(which is only PC Alert, Norton AV and Nero's InCD) are able to load all.

  • Kiss 1600 "dead" ... or not ... help how to reprogram EPROM :)

Hi people. My KISS 1600 "died" a week ago. I took it to repair and only the PSU had a few capacitors needed to replace (were burned). So far, so good, but when I plugged in kiss 1600, the front display keeps lights on, all lights on, no exception and no "boot" message appears.
I believe EPROM chip info was erased after using the player before he was highly damaged. I would update the firmware again, but i can't read it from cdrom (nothing happens when I plug in the player... only front panel lights up fully).
I was wondering if anybody knows to reprogram EPROMs ... or to access EPROM information from a PC to reprogram with the original firmware or any other ideas.  I think it's a excellent player and I wouldn't like to throw it away. People... all ideas are welcome.
    Thankx

  • K7T Turbo2 MS-6330 Ver5.0

I bought the above Mobo and a new processor AMD Athlon XP2000+. WHen I boot up..the screen show dat my processor onli run at AMD Athlon(tm)1250mhz.Can i know what the reason???izit the supplier have giving me the wrong processor???and I heard oso that izit the AMD Athlon XP processor need bigger walts power supply???I'm using onli 220w power supply...ANYBODY PLZ HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............

    Hi again,
Clearing CMOS will not hurt ;-) but it REALLY looks like you will have to try with a more powerful PSU. Dependent on the hardware you have, a 300-350W brand PSU will do, if you want to use a big videocard, forinstance you better go for a 400W - just make sure that it is a good quality one.

  • K7T Turbo2(MS-6330 V5) AGP Features FAQ

    Hi! I'm using K7T Turbo2(MS-6330 Ver5.0) motherboard and just bought an MSI Geforce4 MX440 64MB DDR (MS-8878 SE).
When I run some benchmarking program (eg. 3D Mark 2001), the status of sideband addressing (SBA) and fastwrite (FW) of both the card and motherboard are shown as follow:
    Graphics Card:
    SBA: not supported
    FW: supported but not enabled
    Motherboard:
    SBA: supported but not enabled
    FW: not supported
I tried very hard to force the SBA features using variety of software (Rivatuner, PowerStrip), but all failed.
Experts here, do you think it is possible to force on either (or both) features? I heard that there are ways to force the features in low-level.
    Helps & Advices pls!
    TQ!

    Hi,
    From MSI,
Enabling SBA & FW didnt really add much to the performance. There might be potential compatibility & stability issue when enabling SBA & FW. So we will not let be enabled
After more clarification, this explanation is for both motherboard and display card of yours!

  • A Problem with a K7T-Turbo 2

    HI
I have a K7T Turbo2 (MS-6330 Ver5.0) and I'm with a problem here: When I'm botting, the POST screen shows my Cyberdrive 48x CD-Rom as a ATA-33. This is ok but, when I'm in the Windows XP Professional or in the Windows 2000 Professional, I cannot set the Ultra DMA 33 mode. It only accepts DMA multiword mode. This Cyberdrive CD-Rom also works fine in other motherboards. I also have borrowed other CD-roms drivers and recorders with some friends for test (Sony, Creative, Asus, Plextor, Generic, etc) and I've got the same problem. ;(
So, anyone knows how can I fix this problem?
PS.: I'm already using the latest BIOS version of this Motherboard and the latest VIA patches and Service Packs for the both windows (XP and 2000).

  • K7T Turbo2 PCI Problem

    Motherboard: MSI K7T Turbo2 MS-6330 Ver5.0
    Bios: 3.6
    Chipset Driver: 4.43
    Processor: AMD 1800+ XP
    RAM: 256MB SDRAM PC133
    HDD: WD800JB 80GB
    CDROM: Generic 50x
    CDRW: Lite-On 40x12x48 LTR40125S
With Windows XP Home or Windows XP Pro, I cannot install any PCI devices. I have tried a modem, NIC and a Soundblaster live.  It sees the device, and knows what it is, but fails to install.  I have tried different PCI slots. I have tried just about every BIOS setting (and yes I disabled the integrated modem, either though there is no integrated modem) but can't figure it out.
With Windows 98SE, no problem installing PCI devices. I did use a different hard drive to test WIN98, but I don't think that would matter.
Does anyone have any ideas?  I can't seem to get through to tech support (no surprise there).
    Thanks,

Thank you for the advice, but that's not it. I did what you said.. pointed to either the CD or floppy. Even with the soundblaster, XP new it was a soundblaster and tried to install it's driver, but no luck.
I'm going to try different versions of the VIA chipset drivers today and see what happens.

  • K7T turbo2 Travan tape problem

My MS-6330 ver5 can not see my tape backup. I have tried a new fd ribbon and tried swopping the floppy drive with the tape backup. I swopped tape drives with my other PC (Earlier version of MS-6330 it can see it no problem) which comfirmed it worked but this board did not see either unit.
I am running win98se on both machines. Originally I could remove backup software from win98 and when I reinstalled it the tape drive would be recognised. Then it would disappear again when the unit was switched off. But now nothing so I have reinstalled all software on a clean hdd and still no sign.
The floppy drive can only be recognised on the final connector. I have tried the tape on this with no fdd, still no joy.
    BIOS problem?
    Floppy controller problem?
    Any ideas

I think during the course of trying to get it to work, it requested the gm16.dls file.  However, I think I finally got it installed from the Windows disk.  Could this still be causing the problem?
Also, I tried out my SB Live! card from my primary system - the drivers installed and the card worked fine.  I would prefer not to have to buy a seperate sound card, if I can get the on-board one working.
    Thanks again,
    z-man

iphone 3gs is dead and not responding for DFU restore also. getting errors like 1600,1601 etc., any help?

Mikey, I have the exact same problem. Dropped my 3gs on Thanksgiving, phone was not responsive, plugged into the wall charger, went to grey iPhone restore screen, then said to connect to itunes. So I plugged it into itunes but itunes wont recognize it nor will my computer. I searched the internet for hours with no success. I tried to change USB ports and cords, tired removing the SIM card, reinstalled itunes, everything. When I put it in DFU mode itunes recognizes an iphone in recovery mode, so I click restore and update, then I get error 1602 every time. My iPhone also loses power when I unplug it from the wall. I do not know what to try next. You are the only person I have found with the same exact problem I have. I will update you if I find a way to get my phone working again and I hope you will do the same. I'm very frustrated

  • K7T Pro2-A MS-6330, Dead board?

Hi, I've looked at all the other posts about this board and I think it's either a power supply problem, leaky capacitors, or just plain 'ol dead board.
The DLEDs stop on a random problem (it changes around every time) after the 1st boot after the system has been off for about 20mins or so.  If I turn it off and boot again right away it's always 4 red LEDs the next time, and successive times.  But if I wait for 20 mins or so and try it will be another random LED stop, although it hasn't ever gotten past video card initialization.
I have a couple of capacitors that are slightly bulgy at the top, but nothing leaking (checked the back of the board too).  In the past I have noted a chemically burning smell every once in a while, not very often.
So should I replace the power supply, fix capacitors, replace the board?
    thanks for any help,  dave

they suffer from a dodgey voltage regulator as well so its not worth it on them

  • MS-6330 K7T Pro Dead board - help??

My PC just seems to have died, and now all four motherboard Diag lights are RED when I apply power to the PC. Nothing is displayed on the monitor, it just simply won't boot at all!!
I've check the power supply & that seems to be working okay.
Looking at some of the other posts for this model of board, I see the voltage regulator could be a problem. I've checked my board and this is not hot when I leave the power on for a few minutes, so I don't think this is the problem.
Any suggestions on what to try would be appreciated?

No all was working fine before. I'd had a couple (2 or 3) of problems the day before where it just locked up, but it rebooted fine, until the final time! The machine has usually been on all day, most days over the last twelve months or so without any major problems.
I had already cleaned everything before posting. I'd also had the processor out, powered up without it in place (as I'd read this in one of the earlier posts as something to try), then refitted it (with the heatsink) and tried repowering, still without sucess, hence the post here.
    Any further ideas/suggestions please??

  • Ms-6330 (k7t turbo2) dead board!

Please I need help with this...
I was installing a new cpu cooler, when accidentally hit a small resistor near the cpu.   The resistor came to be the R639.
The board does not post and the D-bracket show all the leds in red!.
The resistor is not completely destroyed, it remains about half  of it, giving a resistance of 1kohm.
I need to know if someone has a damaged board of the same type, the idea is to replace the bad resistance with a new one with the same value.
Has someone repaired boards this way?
    Any advices well received.

Give the board to a good radio repair shop and ask them to replace the resistor.

  • K7T Turbo2 ver5.0 won\'t reboot

I just recently bought a K7T Turbo2 (MS-6330) motherboard and I'm having a problem with it rebooting.  I can't get the board to do a warm reboot.  It works fine if I turn off the power and then turn it back on but even changing the BIOS settings won't allow it to reboot.  I'm building this computer for someone and I will not give them a computer that won't reboot!!!  I've tried to contact MSI techinical support and they have never answered me (through E-mail).  I've read some other posts (in other forums) about problems with the EXACT same thing happening due to a chipset problem (KT133A)  If anyone has had this problem or knows a solution please respond.  here are my Spec:
    K7T Turbo2 ver5.0
    AMD Athlon 1200MHz (200MHz) CPU
AMD (Cooler Master) provided CPU Cooler
    Matrox G400 Graphics card
    2  x 64MB Crucial PC-133 Memory
P.S.  I've tried other (known good) memory and graphics cards and I still have the same problem.

Well after waiting two weeks to get my replacement back from MSI I got another bad board.  I haven't talked to their tech support about it yet but I think I'm going to get a different board from another manufacturer.  In addition I'm going to make to STOP suggesting anymore MSI motherboards and I will definitely not choose them for my upcoming System upgrade.  Just for reference.
The new board will not even POST.  Or turn on for that matter.  I checked all the jumpers.  Unplugged everything else from the board except video, memory and processor (all proven good by another system).
I'm sick of playing with this company and I have a computer to build for someone.  They just lost a formerly loyal customer.  I'm not spending my money to ship it back again.
    P.S.
I assume whoever sent back a KT333 motherboard and left the manual and D-Bracket in the box is going to be upset because they shipped my motherboard back in that box with the manual and the D-Bracket inside.  May as well let things bounce around in the box during shipping the BOARD WAS DEAD ANYWAY!!!!!!!
