XP - Backup folder size in username \Application Data seems too small.

Hi All,
I just checked the size of the backup in my C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mobilesync\Backup and the folder is only small. Approx 12 MB
What information does this hold? Data from applications (games, etc.), text messages, contacts? In iTunes it says there is much more data than this on the capacity measurement bar.
I'm about to do a restore, but having second thoughts. I'm thinking that it hasn't been backed up correctly...

AlmightyZacPac,

Follow the steps in this article to restore from iTunes back up:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Since you say you cant see the back up in iTunes you should be able to see it when following the last step where it says for iTunes 10.7 or earlier. Dont worry as this step also works for iTunes 11.

  • The font size in the menu bar is too small (unreadable). How can I increase font size. I have a new Samsung PC with high resolution screen.

Hi the fnt size in the menu bar is too small (unreadable). How can I increase the font size. I have a new Samsung PC with high resolution screen.

You must mean Photoshop Elements 11, not Photoshop.
There is no ability to change the size of the menu font in PSE 11.
    note to mod:
Please move to the Photoshop Elements forum.

  • Limit Time Machine Backups Folder Size?

It there a way to limit the size of the Time Machine backups folder? I have 100GB of data on my MacBook's drive that TM is backing up to a 500GB external drive. In 18 months the backups folder has grown to 375GB. I'd prefer not to have to get another drive in 6 months, so can I put a limit on this somehow?

That's exactly how TM is designed. It will use all the space assigned to it for backups.
You won't have to get a new drive in 6 months. Just un-check the +Warn when old backups are deleted+ box in TM Preferences > Options, and when the disk gets almost full, TM will automatically delete your oldest backups to make room for new ones.
Or, if you want to use part of that drive for other things, you can make a second partition for the other data. See item #6 of the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip* at the top of this forum. It tells you how to add a TM partition to a disk that already has data on it, but the procedure is the same.
Just don't put important data on that other partition without backing it up some other way.

  • I've downloaded CS 5.5 on a new Lenovo with Windows 8.1.  The application area is too small to read.  Why?

I want to know why the Adobe Audition CS 5.5 loads on my new Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro with Windows 8, but the application window fonts are too small to read.

The device is probably equipped with a High DPI display.  The most recent releases of Audition CC (7.1 and above) support High DPI displays, but older editions do not.  You can reduce your resolution or adjust how fonts and text are scaled at your current resolution in the Windows Display Settings control panel to help improve this, but the need for multi-resolution assets and text support did not exist when Audition CS5.5 was released.

  • PCI-6052E doesn't save all data, buffer too small?

WinXP,Labview6.1,PCI-6052 board, collect data from all 16 channels every 5 seconds
    (Test 1)
I set external scan clock 10KHz, external channel clock 200KHz, buffersize 10K, "number of scan to read" 10K, theorically, in each file I should have 50,000x16 data. But my result is not right: every 5 seconds I got a file, but in side those files, the data is either 3000x16 or 2000 x16 alternatively. For example:
    File1 is 3000x16
    File2 is 2000x16
    File3 is 3000x16
    File4 is 2000x16
    File5 is 3000x16
    File6 is 2000x16
During the simulation, I see some change in the "scan backlog", but the number is not accumulated, for example, the numbers appeared are,36,0,0,..89,0. No error during the simulation. But when I stop the program I got the error: AI read is not enough fast for the data acquisition...
    (Test 2)
When I set external scan clock 5KHz, external channel clock 100KHz, buffersize 5K, "number of scan to read" 5K, my result is right: I got a file every 5 second, and in each file therea are 25,000x16.
Why some data missing in the test one? The PCI6052 board clock is 333KHZ, so my setting of external scan clock and channel clock should be ok. The number of scan to read is set to as the scan rate, so I got accurately one second tiem. Is there something related with the board buffer size and setting or computer is not faster enough?
    Thanks very much for help

There are a couple different possibilities for why the data is not all in one folder in Test 1. First of all, I noticed that you expected each file to have 50,000x16 data, but you said that each file had 3000x16 and 2000x16. Is that correct or is it 30,000x16 and 20,000x16? If what you initially said is correct it looks like you might be losing some data. However, if you meant to say 30,000x16 and 20,000x16 it looks like all of the data is there but it is just in separate files.
You are trying to read a lot of data in a little bit of time, so it is very possible that your computer cannot keep up with your settings. Also, the type of file you are trying to write the data too could be the reason you are not seeing all of your data. Excel is very slow and if you are writing to an Excel spreadsheet this could also be the reason.
The numbers that you were seeing in the "scan backlog" look fine to me. When the number increases that means that you have data in the buffer that is ready to be read. When the number drops to zero that means all the data has been read. So, what you are seeing is not a problem.
Do you have to read at such a fast rate? If not I would just keep it like test 2.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I re size lettering in Firefox (letters are too small, need to make 100%)

How do re-size lettering so it is larger. Example it my explorer I change to 100%, 150%, or 75% for context reading. Right now I am at 150% size scale for reading, I want to change to 100%, so lettering is larger. I went to tools, and did not see a sizing scale.

CTRL+0 (<--that is a zero) will reset your zoom level on affected pages. Firefox remembers the zoom level you last used on a page.
If that does not fix the problem, you can try renaming the file (''with Firefox closed; Firefox button > Exit or File > Exit'') '''''content-prefs.sqlite''''' to content-prefs.sqlite.old (or delete the file) in the Profile Folder to reset the page zoom on all sites. That file will be re-created when you restart Firefox.

  • I have set text size to Auto but it starts too small

I have created a form in Acrobat Pro 9, and set text size to Auto in all fields.
I know it is limited to the height of the field, but  one of the fields is a block for multi-line paragraghs.  Size is set to Auto, font to Times Roman.  When I open the file in Reader to test it, it looks like it's starting at 12 points.  It goes down from there as the whole block is filled with text, but I'd like it to start at around 18.
    Advice?

as I mentioned, this one field is a block for multi-line paragraghs.  It's one, large text block, taking up the bottom half of the form, so that users can input multiple paragraphs of text (they're telling their story).  Some people will write a lot, some less.  That's why I set it to Auto, so that the shorter stories would be in larger text, but longer stories will still shrink to fit.
It works, but I want to know if their is a way to get the text to start out at a larger font size before auto-sizing-to-fit.  I mean, Something is telling the font to start at 12 point...
Should I attach the form to this discussion?  (How do I do that?)

  • Size of Inspector in Numbers is too small

I'm using Numbers for a project and I need to make several charts. However, the Inspector window is getting increasingly smaller each time I try to use it. I now cannot use it because all of the options are basically hidden - meaning the window is so condensed, I can't even see what my options are. How can make the window bigger? Thank you.

    Alexa M wrote:
Okay, when I open up the Inspector, for example, I click on the Sheet tab. I can only see the bottom of the window - just the Top, Bottom, Header, and Footer boxes.
The only time I've seen anything similar is when I've changed the resolution of the display, using System Preferences. You might try resetting the screen resolution to see if that brings the top of the Inspector dialogue back into view.

  • Time Machine: Backup folder changing size when connected to different computers

Can someone please help me wrap my head around why the size of my Time Machine backup folder changes when connected to different computers? I tried to be as thorough as possible.  Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.
I made a backup of my one laptop (MacBook Pro running 10.6.8) before installing Mavericks.  The backup folder size is 258.56 GB and it is on a 1TB WD external.  There are no other computers backed up in this folder.
Last night, I tried to copy the backup folder to another 1TB WD external and ran into the “you can’t do that” message.  After some researching, I came across articles explaining how Time Machine handles HDs and, in order for me to copy my backup folder, the drive I want to copy the folder to needs to have the “Ignore ownership on this volume” deselected.
Okay, so here is my situation: I have the “Ignore ownership on this volume” deselected and journaling is correct on the drive I want to copy the backup folder to.  So I can continue working on my laptop, I want to use a different computer to copy the backup folder from one HD to the other.  The problem I’m having is each computer I own is showing me a different backup folder size O.o.
    (1) The computer I want to use – a Power Mac G5 Quad running 10.4.11 (non intel) – is showing a backup folder size of 592.7 MB, but the HD shows there is 258 GB being used.  When I drag copy, I only get a 592.7 MB backup folder.  For some reason, the backup folder is the only folder acting this way. I compared other folders from the same and different externals and all the sizes match up perfectly no matter the computer they were connected to. How is this possible?
    (2) My second option - Mac Pro (early 2009) running 10.9.4 – is showing a 256.15 GB backup folder size.  Very close, but not 258.56 GB.
    (3) My last option is to use the computer I’m trying to stay away from, the MacBook Pro running 10.6.8.  This is the computer I backed up and is showing me the correct folder size = 258.56GB.  As I mentioned, I'd like to work on my laptop while copying the backup folder using one of my other computers.
I am able to drag and drop from each computer, but the folder size depends on the computer I’m using.  I don’t understand why I can't do a simple drag and drop of a 258 GB folder.
    Many thanks!!

The directory files that you are seeing are not real. They are links to the actual backup files that are stored in a hidden directory on the drive. If you were to look at the same drive on a pc, you would see the folders and you would a list files that are in the folders but the files would all be 0 byte files and Windows will tell you the file is empty because there is nothing there but a link which Windows does not understand.
So the point is you can't just copy the backupd files. The best solution that I know of (and maybe someone else will chime in) for copying them is to mirror the drive with something like Carbon Copy or some other program.

  • HT1766 HOW CAN I CHANGE MY BACKUP FOLDER FROM THE C DRIVE TO ANOTHER?????

HOW CAN I CHANGE MY BACKUP FOLDER FROM THE C DRIVE TO ANOTHER????? because my c drive in the windows computer gets filled and i need to back up my ipod to a portable hard disk.. bt i dont know how to do it.. plz help

you can't change the backup folder as far as I know, but you can choose to move backups. The information you need can be found in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4946
Where iTunes backups are stored on your computer
The folder where your backup data are stored varies depending on the computer's operating system.   Make sure the backup folder is included in your periodic data-backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac:  ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP:  \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
    Windows Vista and Windows 7:  \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press the Return key.
    Hope this helps

On my iMac, it is in the same folder. There are 2 folders within the MobileSync/Backup folder, one for my iPhone and one for my iPod Touch.
    On a Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    On a PC running Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
On a PC running Windows Vista: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

Example of no cursor. Any website, such as youtube, there is no cursor in the box, and there are no letters when I type, but the system recognizes what I type. As for e-mail, hotmail works o.k., but with yahoo the boxes for username and password are too small, there is no cursor and I can't type anything. With gmail, there is no cursor, but I can type my username and password.

  • Photoshop Font Sizes too Small on High Resolution Screen

On my Toshiba Satellite P55T 4K the Photoshop fonts and tool menus are so small that they are very difficult to read.  I have set the UI fonts to the largest size, but they are still way too small. Is there a way to further increase the font and tool menu sizes?

You must have a very high resolution screen, also called HiDpi.
If you have Photoshop CC 2014, you can go to Edit > Preferences > Experimental Features and checkmark "Scale UI 200%"
If you have CC, CS6, or below, there is no way to scale the UI as of yet. There may not be. These products are no longer being updated.
At best I can recommend reducing the resolution down to around 1400 px horizontal. That's not the native resolution and defeats the purpose of having a Hidpi screen.
So only thing left aside from returning the laptop, is to work with a large external monitor, or for $10/monthly, join the Photography Plan and you can use CC 2014 and the 200% UI.

I wanted to know if these files can be shifted elsewhere in c: \ documents and settings \ user \ Application Data \ Apple Computer?
Not that the synchronization does not do more etc ... ?
Thank you in advance for your many answers

Use Finder - File menu - Get Info on the HD; scroll down to the sharing/permissions section, unlock using an admin name/pass & click the + button to add your user, then give it read/write permissions. Do not use the 'apply to enclosed items' function, and remove the entry afterwards, using the - button.
