XP does not alway recognize iPod

There has been some weird issues with the iPod connectiong and/or being recognized by the computer. (Windows) Last time it recognized it, I added songs, went to diconnect and couldn't. The "dashed wheel" icon kept spinning and spinning with the do not diconnect icon as well. This went on for some time. iTunes showed it as diconnectd. Finally I tried to disconnect from Windows and it did. But, then when I plugged it back in it was blank. Wiped clean. Now, it just does not get recognized by XP or iTunes. Help says to plug it in and reformat it but I can't cause iTunes does not recognize it. It won't show up. What now?

No, this is a iPod hooked up to a PC. Formatted on a PC. I have a couple of Macs and my brother has a PC and his own iPod. That is the one with the problem. So, I am trying to get some answers for him since I talked him into getting one and he is sort of technically challenged. I set it up, I have always operated it so, I know nothing out of the ordinary happened. I have one and have no issues with it on the Mac. Im just trying to get an answer if this is a faulty iPod or if it is some sort of PC issue. But appearantly no one knows about iPods on PC's on this site. I get my Mac realted questions answered instantly all the time. Never have I waited a month for an answer!! Or, waited a month for NO answer as the case is here.

My iPhone 5s recognizes my fingerprint but does not always unlock. Sometimes it will unlock, and sometime it won't. It does not even give the "try again" message. Unrecognized fingerprints will give the "try again" message. Entering the passcode works fine.
Any ideas on correcting this?

LR4.2 and "Do not import selected duplicates" does not always work. Running a Mac, 10.6.8, I am cleaning up hard drives, organizing old files. There are times lightroom 4.2 (and before) does not recognize already imported raws and does not gray them out. These are backed up cards and folders of of raw images. Why is the "do not import selected duplicates" check box not working???!!!

Yes to receive an iMessage the recipient would need an iOS device (iPhone, iPod, iPad) and an internet connection. This is a messaging serviceprovided by Apple so the recipient does not need to check emails. If the contact does not have internet access at the time the iMessage is sent then a normal SMS through your carrier can be sent instead if you have "Send as SMS" turned on in Settings>Messages.

I'm not certain I understand the problem: have you re-installed iTunes 6 and now are unable to purchase iTunes Store music?
I have an iPod Mini and have used it flawlessly with iTunes 7 on both a G5 iMac and a G4 Cube under 10.4.7, so "incompatibility" is not the issue here.
iTunes 6.0.5 indeed does continue to allow iTunes Store music purchases...if your problem persists, get back to us here with more info!

I had an accident with my ipod. i did not know that; nowadays, the warranty does not cover my ipod if the screen is cracked. but now the battery is not working. the warranty does help me for something??

It never - ever has. The manufacturer's warranty covers you against faults due to manufacturing. (So if the screen did crack due to a manufacturing defect, Apple warranty would cover it, BUT - Apple would be aware and would be able to identify the cause of a cracked screen due to manufacturing defects, so ...)

it might be a malfunction in your device. you might ave to send it to repairation
1.ave you try resetting it or restoring it?

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Media Encoder CS6 does not always "Use Previews"

I've attempted several transcodes using pre-rendered timelines in Premiere Pro. Media encoder does not always use the preview files despite the appropriate box being checked. Any suggestions what I can look for? I don't see that I am doing anything different between the times it works and the times it doesn't.

I was hoping by now you would have gotten to the bottom of this problem and were offering a solution.

Adding CD music to Itunes - does not sync to ipod touch 5 gen

Windows 7PC. Easy to add the music from a CD to Itunes.
But, then when I sync itunes to Ipod, music does not export to Ipod.
Must be a setting that is not right?
Have to reload them all again?

Yes, those are the sync settings that I referred to in my answer.
"Make sure the (check mark) is sync music, click on entire music library"
This option works fine for small music libraries. When it gets bigger, it won't fit on the iPhone. At that point simply switch to more selective syncing.
