XP PRO, nvidia cards and refreshing frekvency 60 hz

i have upgraded my comuter. now, what is the problem.
when i run programs (3dmark2001,03 and games like ut2003) it shows the correct resolution but nor the refreshing frekvency. it only shows 60 hz. the card can 2048x1536x85 hz and monitor 1280x1024 85hz and 1024x768 100 hz. How to correcz this ???? i read some articles, and it looks like there is a huge bug somewhere, but i didnt found a fix from microsoft or nvidia. the only program i found is NVIDIA REFRESH RATE FIX 2.10E. it can correct the frekvency to 85 hz. but ist not enough for me. i want 100 hz for 1024x768 or lower. how can i do this ?????? please if anyone has or had problems wiht this, write here.
i need help thanks people. ;(

for all who play games on WIN XP. itsnot old driver. i found here http://www.xp-refresh.net/ final solution. ITS a general problem of WIN XP, and the service pack1 doesnt solve this problem. read the whole article.
there is a program that can solve this.
man, i wonder and wonder again ...... how can microsoft do something like this, its HUGE BUG

  • Mac Pro RAID Card and Western Digital drives

I'm having huge troubles with these items.
I first installed four WD7500AYYS (Raid Edition) to build a RAID 5 and install Leopard on it. At this point, one of the drives was probably DOA and didn't show up in the bay. I then reinstalled the Seagate that shipped with the machine, then proceeded to create another enhanced JBOD raid with one of the WD drives. After a couple of seconds, RAID utility reported an error (disk about to fail and such). I then tried with another one. The process ended with a kernel panic after two hours, while RAID utility was still marking the drive for enhanced JBOD. That disk never show up again, in any bay.
At this point, I'm left with two WD drives. I can't get past the creation of a RAID set with them, no matter what. Either RAID utility reports an error, or it says the disk has been ejected, or it keeps create the RAID for hours... The later usually ends with a "force quit", or a force shutdown. During these attemps, the RAID card went missing once, then it appeared again on the following reboot. The RAID battery, which was fully charged at first, is now being "repaired" (charging ?).
I then ran AHT to see whether there was something wrong. No errors reported.
Because all four drives were Raid Edition, I thought this could be the root of the problems. So I bought a Caviar SE16 (WD5000AAKS). To no avail. It fails too, in the very same way. And now it no longer appears in any bay.
The last step I took was to remove the RAID card (connecting the iPass connector to the motherboard). Out of the five WD drives, only two RE2 (the two that still show up with the RAID card) do appear in disk utility. But disk utility never ends "writing the partition map" or "preparing for initialization".
By now, I end up with five WD drives that appear to be just dead, as if they were killed by the RAID card trying to RAID them. The only drive that works, with or without the RAID card, in any bay, is the Seagate. I didn't try to fiddle with it though (I'm reluctant to format it just to see whether I can create an enhanced JBOD raid with it).
So the question is, are Western Digital drives compatible with this RAID card ? If they do, then how a RAID card can kill them in such a way while keeping the Seagate alive ?
I'm lost in conjectures. I don't even know if/how I can bring all the WD drives back to life. I'm not sure the RAID card is faulty, I've already lost a lot of time and money, I'm not willing to buy yet another drive to see it fail too, and my Mac Pro is kind of useless as I don't want to spend time on installing/configuring everything I need on a drive that is bound to be replaced by a larger RAID 5 array.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Someone yesterday or Friday, had a system with 4 x 1TB drives and Pro RAID, but in their case, it was determined later Saturday that drive bay #1 was not functioning.
Hopefully these fully retail drives, not OEMs, and I would think they are fine. They are what I would use (Sonnet Tempo only supports RE of the WD drives). Someone else, Danish?, had 3 out of 4 WD drives were DOA.
I've never had trouble buying over a dozen from OWC, so it does seem odd.
If you have SoftRAID 3.6.6 I would use that to zero the first and last 100 sectors, or you can begin to zero the whole drive and cancel at any time, just to check the health of the drive and that it can zero and not produce I/O errors.

Originally, only Apple drives were supported. My understanding was that this changed. But the only article I found in KB dates back to Aug '07:
Question: What drives does Apple support with the Mac Pro RAID Card and the Xserve RAID Card?
Answer: +Only Apple drives are supported with the Mac Pro RAID Card and the Xserve RAID Card.+
My understanding that 3rd party retail drives such as WD RE2 750GB, Seagate, Hitachi were supported as well since the article was written - and I can't find where I read that, but sure that I did, as this was discussed in the past.

  • Mac Pro Nvidia 8800GT and snow leopard 10.6.4  problems

I have a Mac pro 1.1 with a Nvidia 8800GT and I have having a lot of problems since update to snow leopard latest release. My computer start to show lines and giggle with lines static and then freeze, it make so bad that you can't do anything even restart the computer does not solve the problem. I have reset the pram and all possible solution available. Maybe the video card is going to die soon?

My MacPro 3.1 with Nvidia 8800 Gt is also not HP.
Initially I was getting some video glitches just after start up but then the machine would settle down and run for the session.
about a week ago the situation got increasingly worse so that from last Sat morning its will not even boot up 4 times out of 5 tries.
Gets to the apple symbol then freezes
I've tried booting from the snow leopard install disc but even then its freezes and I see many video artifacts.
I've ordered a ATi Radeon 4870 to replace the graphics card as I thought that might be the issue. The 8800 GT was full of fluff I feared it had cooked itself this summer.
But now I'm concerned from reading several forum topics that a recent OSX update has effectively killed machines with the 8800 Gt card.
I can't really operate fully without my macpro as that where most of the software is held. CS5 master suite etc
My business partner did say just get another machine but i'm not happy to go down that route just yet. Yes of course a 12 core is tempting but at ££££.££ cost.

  • NVIDIA card and CS5

Hello, which newest NVIDIA cards work best with CS5?  The video cards listed for NVIDIA are old...
    thanks,
    Craig

Not sure what you are really asking. All of them "work", given you have installed them correctly, but "best"? It's pretty much a moot point, at least with AE. It uses OpenGL so sparingly, it's really irrelevant. Every contemporary card will fullfill these requirements. You could throw in a 3 year old card from the 20 bucks budget tray and you'd see no difference to a 400 buck higher-end one. That pretty much applies not only to AE, but to some extent to Photoshop and all otehr programs. The only notable exception here would be Premiere Pro if you want to use the Mercury playback engine, but if you don't - well, save some money, buy at best a mid-range card.

  • Macbook Pro Nvidia card sunddenly working

Last year I opened my Macbook pro and the screen wouldn't turn on. Completely black. The computer turned on, I can hear the start up noise and the fans running with keyboard lighting up, just not the screen. So I took it into AppleCare and they came back with the diagnosis that the NVIDIA graphics chip had gone bad, so had the logic board but that had been a problem from much earlier. Apple then graciously told me it would not be covered under my warranty and sent me an estimate for repair which I declined as I could get a new computer for that price. The computer then sat in my closet and has been taken out a few times getting data off of the hard drive then put back in. Today I turned it on and the screen suddenly started working. I then turned it off shut it and repeated only to have the screen go blank again. Again shut down, close and repeat. This time the screen turned on and since I have restarted twice and shut and close the laptop several times but not a complete shut down. My main question is, does this computer sound salvageable, or will it be destined to repeat this? What is the actual issue, is my nvidia card really broken or does the screen just have a few wires loose? Thank you for any information that you can give me.

    Let me save you...

  • ATI Radeon X1950 Pro video card and Quicktime Pro

In an earlier thread, I found out that the reason Quicktime Pro was not working on my new computer is that Apple has not yet worked out incompatibilities with QT Pro and new nVidia video cards. Since I need the QT Pro to do my movie editing work, I am going to switch to another high end video card. Does anyone know if an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro video card works with QT Pro? If not, is there another high-end card that someone can recommend?
    Thanks

Sounds like you need a bigger case.

  • New MacBook Pro NVidia Card & Float

    Hello,
I need some help making a decision before buying a new MBP.
Does the MacBook Pro switch to from ATI to NVDIA cards mean a kind of downgrade for using Color, as it won't allow 32 bit float?
    Cheers,
    Gerry

I feel sure that the lack of support for Nvidia cards will be addressed sooner rather than later.
Or they will avoid the issue and include software based rendering and make it GFX card agnostic....
Either way, the new machines are just so pretty, how could you NOT buy one.
    Cheers,
    Toby

  • [Solved] Asus laptop, Optimus NVIDIA card and heat

    Hello everyone,
I got myself a laptop a few weeks ago and until now everything seemed to work okay. I set up Bumblebee for Optimus and could run Heroes of Newerth without problems. Recently I updated the drivers, and when I ran the game everything went laggy and soon thereafter (seconds), before the game even fully loaded, the computer turned off due to overheating. This is when I put my hand on the side of the keyboard (where there's some aluminum) and nearly burnt my hand!
There doesn't seem to be any permanent damage, but how can I be sure?
I reinstalled everything graphics-related and it seems to work now. I must have not updated all the packages properly from the AUR.
I've never paid attention to the temperature, and I've been looking at it now; is 96--99 °C normal with a game running for a few minutes? I check it with `acpi -V`.
The specs of the machine are:
    Model ASUS K53SV
    Intel i7-2670 @ 2.20 GHz
    Nvidia GT540M
    8 GiB RAM
    500 GB 7200 RPM disk
    (Edit) Some further clarfications:
A week ago, I don't think the machine got this hot. And that's after a few hours of ingame time. Maybe an update did this? Also, nvidia-settings reports that the card temperature during gaming is about 90 °C. Again, no idea what the normal temperature is.
The temperatures already rise when in the ingame menu and practically stay that way constantly. Is there some "bad" programming afoot that needlessly stresses the machine?
    (Edit)
The CPU temperatures don't go crazy if I run the game with the onboard Intel video card. CPU load may be caused by copying the data from one X server to the other because of Optimus. But I don't see this being so heavy (99 °C heavy).
    (Solution)
Aha! I installed the 'nvidia' package from the official repositories, which replaced 'nvidia-bumblebee', and this solved my issues. Now everything runs ingame at a stable 70-ish degrees Celsius. I also removed the kernel option pcie_aspm=force, but I don't think that did anything.

Thanks for the reply, you're rigth Lone_wolf , the nvidia driver works, installed directly from pacman.
The ENGT 430 is just a GT 430 with different look from the outside.
    However lspci reports
VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 430] (rev a1)
So is the same card different look
    Solved!

  • ATTO Pro UL366 card and Intel Xserve

I've got a new Apple Intel Xserve on order and am wondering if the ATTO Pro UL366 adapter card that's in our old G4 Xserve will work? ATTO's support wants me to buy a UL5 card but that seems like a spendy alternative.
Our G4 Xserve is connected to a 1U 1x10 Packetloader library from Exabyte (Tandberg).
Also, if I did upgrade to a faster card would our backup times decrease?
    Thanks.

There are two things to be aware of here.
One is that you need to have ordered your server with the PCI-X riser card (by default it comes with PCIe slots and there's no chance of using your UL366 in a PCIe slot).
Then the other thing is whether the card will work in a PCI-X slot.
The original PCI spec allowed for cards based on both 3.3V and 5V power requirements.
PCI-X retains compatibility with 3.3V cards but not with 5V cards. So if the UL366 is a 5V card then it won't work (I couldn't find an easy answer to that one).
Also, if I did upgrade to a faster card would our backup times decrease?
Possibly, but that's hard to say. The whole reason PCI-X was developed was because too many devices (especially gigabit ethernet cards and SCSI cards) exceeded the bandwidth of the PCI spec. Therefore it's entirely possible that you're being throttled by the (relatively) slow throughput of the PCI bus.
That said, there are many variables when it comes to backup speed, not least of which is the source of your data (how fast are your disks?) and the speed of your backup tape (the Packetloader isn't the fastest tape technology out there - it's only rated at 12MB/sec). If your tape drive speed is less than the PCI card then changing cards isn't going to make much difference.

  • Systemd multiseat with NVidia card and Intel integrated graphics

I'm trying to set up multiseat Gnome 3 on a system running the nvidia proprietary drivers. The first seat on the nvidia GPU is working fine. For the second seat I'm trying to use an integrated Intel GPU, but all I get is the GDM "Oh no, something has gone wrong" screen. I'm not sure why, but I suspect it could be because the intel driver is also trying to load nvidia's libglx.so:

Unfortunately the config file for the second X server is /run/systemd/multi-session-x/seat1, which is not persistent. Is there any other way to get a different config file to the second X server, so I can force it to load the default libglx.so?

One thing you can do to ensure highest perfomance on games is go to the Nvidia Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings, Programs, then find the game you want and set it to use only NVIDIA High Performance (or Discrete) graphics. You can't use both cards at the same time as of writing this (DirectX 11), but with the arrival of Windows 10 and DirectX 12 on July 29 you will be able to use both at once to increase performance. Until then, though, it is simply not possible to use both at once. The best option is to just use the GTX 860M.

  • Mac Pro Nvidia 8800GT and Aperture

Hello, i'm planning on upgrading my base 2600XT to the 8800GT to run games on bootcamp like crysis and others.
However i'm concerned that i will lose performance when i run aperture 2.0 on osx since according to barefeats the 2600XT is better than the 8800GT at core image applications.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience on running aperture and the 8800GT.
    Thanks

Yes of course a 12 core is tempting but at ££££.££ cost.
lucky I have my Macbook pro to use otehrwise i'd be

  • Force Vsync for Nvidia cards and OpenGL apps

    Hello there!
I am new to this forum, so nice to meet you all!
I am trying to profile a little simulation app I've been told to study, but I don't have it's sources. I need to force vsync on this app to make it mach the monitor refresh.
Since apple hasn't developed an Nvidia control panel for OSX, I've been looking around and found the kCGLPFASampleBuffer, kCGLPFASamples...etc attributes wich, when put into the OpenGL Profiler.app, can FSAA.
So my question is: WHAT atributes should I use in OpenGL Profiler.app to force Vsync???
    Thanks!!

I assume you have insured that they WILL install and run properly?

I think it is a shame you don't have the X1900, though. Or 8800 which only works under Windows but interferes with OS X even booting. (I have 8600 which doesn't work in OS X but at least does work in Vista).
Only Business and Ultimate support dual cpus. And only x64 supports 5GB. 32-bit SP1 will see all 5GB but not sure how much it uses. Otherwise, Mac Pro + Vista 32-bit supports 1.9GB RAM - which is paltry.
Does Maya system requirements show the 7300?
    Expanded Platform Support
+Support for Windows Vista™ operating system has been added, that enables you to take advantage of the performance capabilities of this recent technology.+

  • Which MAC Pro graphics card and how much RAM for FCE HD usage?

I plan on purchasing a MAC Pro afer MacWorld Expo next month. Any recommendations for a specific graphics card that would complement my usage of Final Cut Express HD 3.5?
Also, should I increase my RAM? I currently use 2 gb of RAM on my G4. Will I see greater productivity if I bump it up to 4gb of RAM on the MAC Pro or will 2gb suffice which I had planned to increase it to from the standard 1gb supplied?
    PowerMAC G4 dual 1.42ghz Mac OS X (10.4.7) 2gb RAM, 3-LaCie FW800 external drives
    PowerMAC G4 dual 1.42ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2gb RAM, 3-LaCie FW800 external drives

Any of the graphics cards that Apple sells for the Mac Pro will be fine. Personally, I'd suggest choosing one with at least 128MB video RAM, 256MB would be better.
2GB RAM in your Mac Pro will be more than enough for general purpose video editing. Going to 4GB will give you more oomph for RealTime effects and somewhat for rendering but you won't see a big difference in regard to capturing or general editing in the timeline.

  • MacPro, BlackMagic Intensity Pro video card and output to HDTV

    Hello folks,
I purchased an Intensity Pro card a little while back, but haven't actually gotten to use it. I captured most of my video material through firewire. I have a MacPro and I'd like to view photos from iPhoto, renders of my 3D work and possibly stream Netflix to my HDTV. Both of my DVI outputs from my ATI Radeon card feed my two desktop cinema Displays, leaving the DVI output from the Intensity Pro card open. Before I go an buy a DVI to HDMI adapter from Apple I want to know if the Intensity Pro DVI port only works if I'm in editing mode with Final Cut or Adobe Premiere or will it output anything at anytime as it it was just another graphics card?
Thanks so much for any help,
    Brian

    hi,
ihave bought it and am using it with my quadcore g5 2.5 ..
for now i switched back to canopus because its much more stable and not
"touchy" when i jump around in the timeline...
but this may have a lot of other reasons ..
with finalcut its very nice ans stable, i think the drivers have been written
to be compatible with fcp rather than logic.
I wantd to have the picture for an HD Movie in Llogic but now i prfe to have
    stability,
    bets regards,

  • Mac Pro  Graphics card and Motion 5

I purchased my Mac Pro in 2007,  It is 2x 2.66 GHz dual core with 12 GB 667 MHz DDR2 F8-DIMM
My grahpics card is Radeon X1900.
Is this sufficient for Motion 5 and will I see a difference in speed, etc from Motion 4.
Also, is it possible to upgrade my graphics card to say, ATI 4870 to improve graphic performance all around?   I have a real problem with complex graphics and usually cannot see them in full render until I compress the project.
    Thanks,
    Sandra
