XP SP2 Worked on 180

I've just installed SP2 on my 180, with success. I've got basic hardware, using onboard audio and video, and using the spdif output. Using a freeview card in the slot.
I used the network install (we have 3 comps in our house.. easier time for my connection.)

I tried the SP2 release candidate 1 sometime ago, and all the software that comes in the installation cd works fine (MCIII, PC Alert4, etc). i did not update any of the drivers and softwares yet.
just one very small problem: it's interfering with the pairing process between mega 180 and my Xphone, or rather, i cant pair them at all. i found that out after installing a fresh copy of windows XP with sp1.
not sure if i really need the officially released sp2, since with sp1 i have USB 2.0 support and all things running fine at the moment. so i think i'll keep my present config for now.

Tv-out stoped working (mega 180)

I have searched the forum for tv-out problem but did not find the same problem I have.

The tv-out was working fine, but sudenly it was dead.
This happend at the same time the msi radio started after I turned on my pc, I managed to make it stop, but then the radio came on when I turned the tv mode on. But i fixed that problem to.
But the tv out wont work. But the tv does flimmer a bit when i try to connect, so there is contact. Acording to windows, a cable is not conected, but I have tried with to different cables and it worked before.
Also, the startup screen wont work on tv, not even with the monitor cable unpluged.
I use composite, no s-video on my tv.
I tried to change the gfx card in bios from agp to pci, as it was original.
This happend after I tried to make my other computer work, so I have changed the cpu and memory a bit, to see what is wrong.
But I gues there is no cable needed for tv-out that I could have taken out?
When I get home I wil try new drivers.
I gues I also could try to "turn back time" Dont know the english word for it.

The TV out has to be connected on startup. What to do in case you have disconnected is explained in the MEGA pdf manual you have on your CD-ROM. It comes down to setting NVidia Dualview settings again for your TV out, because it is set back to single monitor again after disconnecting it.

Windows XP SP2 work for a MacBook?

Hello I have a question about Windows compatibility. I would like to get boot camp but I need to buy the Windows CD Disc to install. I was wondering if Windows XP Home Edition SP2 would work, and if this edition already runs 32bit or I have to get a 32bit version of this Windows XP? I also have another question on how much would this version would most likely cost, and what would be a resonable price for this.

Boot Camp comes with 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) so your good there.
Basically if you have a bunch of older applications, games, etc, then you just need XP sp2 32bit for the best compatibility, BUT, if you are starting fresh into Windows then you might as well get the latest greatest Windows 7 64bit. I believe it has a "compatibility" mode for older programs. Do your home work to see which is best for YOU. Microsoft has dropped support for XP, or is about to, so if you have to buy a Window OS anyway then Windows 7 would be the way to go.
I believe "Home" version in either one works fine.
Do a search on the web for the best pricing and if you are a Student I THINK you get a slight discount. I believe you get a larger discount if you are a student and live on campus?

Look here for all the info you need, check out the Boot Camp FAQ, Windows 7 FAQ and definitely read the Installation guide a couple of times to familiarize yourself with Boot Camp before you try it for sure.
Also ask your friends and check Microsoft for the good/bad info on Window's7/XP to see which one you should get.

Can Portal 6.0 SP2 upgrade to EP 2004 with R/3 base release stay at 4.6C ?

We have EP 6.0 SP2 working well with R/3 base release at 4.6C. Now we
are wondering whether we can upgrade EP 6.0 SP2 alone. In other words, can we
leave R/3 as it is (4.6C), and upgrade only EP 6.0 SP 2 to EP 2004 ?
In general, can portal upgrade be totally independent of R/3 or BW ?
I think so. But I need proof from SAP docs or notes. Could you give some insights ?
Critically, could you list SAP URL and official docs to support your arguments ?

Hi Hans,
the official place for you to look at is the <a href="http://service.sap.com/pam">"Product Availability Matrix" (PAM)</a> or some notes which are hidden somewhere in the huge attic of SAP notes
Generally there are no dependecies between R/3, BW and EP.
For your R/3 4.6C there are no dependecies in any way.
As long as you "only" integrate web frontends (like WebGui or BSPs) you can have whatever you want versions. But when it comes to the newest releases some of the features like e.g. BW's broadcasting are only supported when BI and EP are both version 7.0!

After fresh installaion 10g R2 clusterware and db on Windows 2003 (x64) sp2.->>Works well
Install Patch 10.2.0.4 -->>Tnserror and other error as write in metalink (February 2010 Patch 32)
--Remove all oracle files (c:\programfiles\oracle\*.*,d:\oracle\*.*,c:\windows\system32\drivers\o???.dll ),
--all registery,all GUIOracleOBJManager.exe partition,
--all system enviroment,
--all c:\temp and c:\windows\temp and c:\localseting\???\temp from both system.

I solved my problem.
Solution dont forget to clean all ocr and voting disk using storage software .Oracle clean log utility does not clean all data or other things in disk volumes.
You must use storage clean utlity or rebuild your volume in storage software.

Satellite M30 keeps crashing after reinstall and SP2

Can someone please help me. I'm having trouble with my Sat M30. It is 2 yrs old and I've never had problems with it before. However, I recently had a crash and decided to reinstall from the recovery CD. upon reinstallation, I tried downloading service pack 2 and my computer keeps crashing. I have not installed any other software and still keep having this problem. This is very strange since sp2 worked perfectly on my laptop until the recent crashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've reinstalled now for the third time and am extremely frustrated.

Thats pity that it happens. Did you check the Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Update information on the Toshiba driver page? In the Sat M30 driver area you will find the document which describes what application must be updated to use the SP2.
I would recommend firstly checking this sheet before starting any SP2 installations.

I created cmp ejb mapped to Microsoft SQL 2000 table.
While setting connectivity with application server the wizard failed to recognize datasource class(several times), so I provided the name from documentation.
After I created test application and invoked create(...) method it produced the following.

I did create all the data store, persistent manager, added JDBC driver for MySQL to the server instance using IDE (Properties for server instance has class path option). I also copied and pasted driver into ilb and lib/ext folders in desparation but i keep geting above mentioned errors. I feel there is more to this problem. Can anyone help me on this.

There is no place where you can download the SP3. Anyway 6.5 has more advance features. Anyway SP2 works fine with win NT. If you have any specific problem with installation, you can point them out. I would suggest you to use 6.5 instead.

SP2 go or no go?

I have been think about upgrading my 64 rig to sp2 for that virus [rptection thingie, but then i heard some people have had problems doing that (auto reboots and stuff.)
whats the verdict? go, no go?

I had nothing but grief after installing SP2. I have a home theater machine with the K8TMM, SATA drive, DVICO HDTV card, Audigy 2 ZS. After SP2, my DVD player software (zoomplayer and PowerDVD) froze or crashed or wouldn't start, and Windows Explorer crashes whenever it tried to show thumbnails.
I uninstalled SP2 (thank goodness you can do that!) and everything is fine again.
I'm sure SP2 works fine for a lot of people if you have the most standard stuff. For me, there's nothing compelling in SP2 because all the security features you can get with 3rd party software already.
I'm really going to stick with -- "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

ZEN 6.5 sp2 on Netware 7

Im wanting to know if there is any problems with Zenworks 6.5 sp2 on
netware 7. We are wanting to go to Netware 7 but we are not sure if
there is going to be a problem. We are running netware 6 right now. Are

No, you are right. Looking at our servers when we first did SP3, and saw
this OES stuff, well, it looked like that is what it was.

As in anything else, test, test test, before upgrading.
That being said, OES, from what I've read, seems to be working great.
As for the "big boss", you could let him/her know that OES is NOT a
major upgrade, that it's still Netware 6.5. And, as you've said, if
it's not broken, don't fix it. If memory serves me correctly, you
can upgrade to OES simply by applying the latest Service Pack. I
"think" anything above NW 6.5 SP3 is already OES. I may no be
remembering that properly and, if not, I hope someone will correct me.

I'm getting "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" blue screens

But this is not the same as the other guys :/
this computer is about 3 months old and just started to get this error 2 days ago..."MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" What the hell does that mean???
I was started a game, went to the track to start racing and I was sitting at 2 frames per second. For 3 months with this computer I've been getting avg of 100-140fps. So i turn the game off, as soon as i turn it off i get a Blue screen then it rebooted!!! It rebooted fine at that point. I try another game UT2004, play for about 30 mins, shut off the game, BAM!!!! Blue screen again!!! I figure, "ok i need to reinstall xp".
So i reinstall xp, I load the K8N Neo mobo drivers, reboot, works fine. Install Audio Drivers, I get a blue screen "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" on boot, I uninstall it, works fine. I install SP1, blue screen"MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" on reboot, I uninstall and install SP2, works fine. Odd? Yes, I think so.... Now I've tried all kinds of combos here between the BIOS and whats installed. Most commonly ON board sound enabled, and the sound drivers NOT installed, i will not get a Blue screen...Most commonly. Out of about 50 reboots to test this theory, when every i install the sound device's drivers i get the error. So i'm thinking it has something to do with the drivers are conflicting with the hardware. But, this same computer has been working fine for 3 months prior to 2 days ago. I dont get it!!! Did my mobo go bad? Is there anything out there that can fix this, something i need to look at. I shouldn't have to use a sound card because the mobo's onboard sound is suppose to be fine. Any help please!

interesting... machine_check_exception is a hardware related issue. typically caused with hardware and pentium processors, buti guess in your case its a little different. straighe from microsoft: "A machine check exception occurs when Windows XP and your hardware platform cannot recover from a hardware error so that the system can continue to run successfully and reliably. More specific diagnosis of machine check exceptions is difficult, and there is no general solution." You've got a beast of a computer there, so i really don't see why you'd be having much problem... i've heard overclocking is a common cause of this error, so if you are... change that. If that doesn't do it it could be your power supply, over heating, or bad memory. "
I'm not overclocking, and he did menition "bad Memory" So in moving that around I guess I'll have to try one stick at a time or both?

Can't Log into my Firm's ExtraWeb! Is Boot Camp/XT the Answer?

I was very disappointed when I got the following message after trying to log into my firms' Lotus Notes-based system (IBM) over the web using my MBA (as opposed to my firm's "standard issue" Dell):
"You can not be granted access to ExtraWeb because your computer doesn't have the required configuration:
ExtraWeb is only supported on Microsoft Windows (Your operating system is Intel Mac OS X)
ExtraWeb is only supported with Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.01 or higher (Your web browser is Netscape version 5.0)

My question is whether logging in on my MBA under Windows/Internet Explorer after the full installation via Boot Camp will do the trick. I'm guessing (and hoping) "yes" but I am missing something?

Yes either Boot Camp or Parallels is going to work. I have same restrictions at work - can only connect with MSIE 5.0 or higher. Actually using IE7 under Parallels running XP SP2 works just fine for me.

The browser does not accept cookies if a host name contains the underscore character '_'.

I have a server/Device having untrusted certificate. When i connect to this device using HttpURLConnection its throwing null pointer exception as below.
The update51 has introduced many security things, but i belive it should pop-up a dialogue for the untrusted certificate not the NPException. Seems like a clear bug in Oracle java update51. I have created a bug in bugs.sun.com but i dont see my bug id is visible in their bug database.

Further note:
i see the doShowDialog() function in com.sun.deploy.security.TrustDeciderDialog has a new call to printWarningsIfRequired in DeployManifestChecker class.

In my opinion the call to this function should be available only incase of a webstart and not for the standalone applications.

I get the same error and try to turn off hostname verification by using the option :
-Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true
but it does not seem to take this option. But wl 8.1 sp2 works. It starts fail to work since 8.1 sp3. I am looking for a solution as well. Any help would be appreciated.
