XP64 driver for a PCIe 1429 frame grabber

Hi,
I want to use a PCIe 1429 framergrabber in A Dell 5400 2 cpu quad core machine. We installed win xp64 and LV 8.2 (32 bit).
We tried to install NI vision acqusition 8.5.1 and all it says "This driver does not support any operating system prior to windows vista" Installing vista is not a good option because our university does not support this. We use MAX 4.1 and NI IMAQ 4.0 Is there a way to solve this problem?

It may not be the most attractive option, but depending on your reason for having XP64, downgrading to XP 32-bit might solve your problem.
The issue is this - in order for our drivers to work with a 64-bit OS, their kernel-mode components need to be 64-bit. Our 64-bit components have not been tested with XP64, so it sounds like our installer prevents you from installing them there. If you installed the driver on a 32-bit OS, you would get the 32-bit kernel-mode component, which is tested and should work fine with XP.
I realize you might have good reason for having XP64 (such as having more than 4 GB of RAM installed), but unfortunately I am not aware of any other solutions. Perhaps someone else might have other ideas.

  • Does NI offer a generic LabVIEW interface for the PCI-1424 frame grabber?

I am attempting to grab frames from a DuncanTech camera using a PCI-1424. The vendor's software was developed in the LabVIEW, but I only have the executable and they seem unwilling to provide the source file(s) - essentially, the vendor software only displays the images (no capture capabilities). In the interests of time, I would like to locate/purchase a generic LabVIEW image acquisition front-end, if available.

    MJP;
Your PCI-1424 card should include several examples. Check the directory where the software for the camera was installed (Usually "Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ")
Also, if you have MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer), you can access your card from there and snap images.
Other than that, I think you have to write your own code or ask somebody to do it for you.

  • I need a windows 7 driver for the PCI 8335

I bought a PXI system years ago, controlled by a very old computer via a fiber optic link with a pci card.  I want to use updated computers, and bought a PCI extension that I can use with laptops, but I cannot find the driver for the PCI card on the NI website.  If anyone knows where it might be lcated please let me know.

I managed to find this KB on MXI-4, but the results might be the same for MXI-3.

  • Dos Driver for ni pci-485 interface card

Can any one give details about availablity of Dos driver for NI PCI-485 Interface Card.
    Thanks

The PCI-485 uses standard 16550 UARTs, and while there isn't a packaged DOS driver avilable, you should be able to use the card in DOS applications by configuring the software to use the base address assigned to the UART that you wish to use. One important note is the RS-485 wire modes which are configured via the scratch register. The user manual documents how this is performed.

  • How to remove noise on images acquire from Digital 8 VCR to PCI-1409 frame grabber ?

I have some constant noise in the form of a discontinuous white horizontal line running accross the top of images which were grabbed from a digital 8 video signal. I have tried all the settings in MAX to remove these and have check the integrity of my connections, but to no avail ?

    Kyle,
I found that adjusting the acqu window did the trick.
It seems that all the video i have on Digital 8 tapes gives me the same problem. When i use the camera directly to the frame grabber there is no problem.
In due course i'll try another camera with the Dig 8 VCR and compare these output picture quality.
    Thanks for the advice,

  • Satellite A60: I need WinXP driver for the PCI Flash Memory device

    Hi
I have re installed windows XP on my Satellite A-60 SA63A-002001 and have a problem trying to find out what drivers I need for the PCI Flash Memory hardware which I don't know what the name of the device is.
    Can someone PLEASE help me!!
    Cheers

    Hi
I dont know which exactly notebook you has because there are many Satellite A60-xxx but I assume most of them have the same hardware configuration.
The fact is that the on this unit the Compact Flash card slot, smard card reader, SD-card slot are not available. You can use only a PCMCIA cards.

  • Where can I find a Driver for my PCI Adapter WMP54G Version 4.1?

My operating system is Windows XP 32 bit.  I had to reinstall XP and fouind that I have no idea where in my home I stored the install disc that came with the PCI adapter.  Checked online at the linksys site and they no longer support my PCI adapter and they wanted to sell me their latgest adapter - which I don't want.  Where can I find a reliable drive download site that won't come with a lot of junk or viruses?   Thanks for your help..!

I downloaded a driver from  "driverguide.com"  as suggested by one responder.  It came along with a Trojan virus that fortunately my antivirus program (Panda) found.
Next I tried the suggestion about downloading Version 2..0 driver.  I did, but my Windows XP could not open the file.  (Not sure why Version 2.0 was suggested, since my PCI card is Version 4.1).  So this suggestion went nowhere.
I did find that there are MANY Linksys items for sale on Ebay and may pursue one of those.
In closing - I want to thank all those who responded and tried to help.  I also want to mention that I am not happy that Linksys basically "threw us under the bus" by no longer providing a simple driver download for WMP54G owners.  There are thousands of us out there and it is certainly easy to forget where you filed away your installation disc.....especially if you're older and have trouble remembering things anyway.  (I'm 78).

  • Lookout driver for NI PCI Timer/Counter Board NI-6601

Is there any Lookout version 5.0 driver available for the NI-6601 PCI Card? Any built in drive that works?

There is a PCI card available that works with DAQ OPC, in this case the E-series product line would apply. Many of the PCI-6040E type cards have counters. However, at this stage of development I would recommend for serious consideration using LabVIEW and NI-DAQ. Lookout is a great program for communicating with OPC items. However, for basic to advanced data acquisition, LabVIEW is the optimized solution. All other ways will require more development time.

  • Configuring RTSI on the PCIe-1429

    Hi
I have a Teli camera (CSC12M25BMP) and a PCIe-1429 frame grabber. I would like to configure the frame grabber so that certain signals that are currently sent through the CameraLink cable are sent through the RTSI instead (or in addition to). More specifically, I require the end-of-acquisition or acquisition-in-progress to be sent that way. Is this possible?
    Many thanks,
    Gary

Why do you say two RTSI lines? I'm using line 0 already for the trigger. I just need one more to tell me when the camera is in the process of capturing an image. I'm interfacing the frame grabber with a 7811 FPGA card, in case that makes a difference.
Also, since writing my first post, I re-read this article which leads me to believe I should use "Frame Start" instead of "Acquisition in Progress. This is because I only want the RSTI line high when the camera is capturing a frame rather than a whole session. Essentially, I am after some signal which the FPGA card can read to tell me when a particular frame is captured.
I've attached the VI that I was working on. Is this in the right direction?
    Many thanks,
    Gary

  • PCIe 1429 failed to load ICD file

    Dear everyone
I have a NI PCIe-1429 frame grabber and a Basler acA2000-340km camera ,but the NI measurement & automation explorer 5.3.1 failed to load the ICD file of this camera even all the Basler acA2000 series and just give me a message as
    "Error 0xBFF60108
the camera file does not support the current interface type."
However, it can load the other ICD files normally.I had used a Basler A504k camera,it was working  normally.
All  the NI softwares and drivers are the latest.
Can anyone give me a solution to resolve the problem?

I don't think that hardware supports the Basler camera. Have a look over here:
    www.ni.com/camera/
You might be better off contacting Basler or NI to see if they have a camera file that supports that camera for the framegrabber you are using.

  • Pin assignment of RTSI connector (PCIe-1429)

I world like to use a hardware trigger to start the image acquisition of the frame grabber PCIe-1429, but don't use the SMB connector or Camera Link I/O Extension Board.
Is there any schematic/document to show the pin assignment of  the RTSI connector?
    Thanks.
    YSL

    Hi Joseph,
Thanks for your prompt reply and information.
Actually I'll generate the trigger signal (from a printer port of PC) to the RTSI connector of PCIe-1429 frame grabber card. Once there is a hardware trigger event to be detected, the image acquisition will start to capture the image from a line-scan camera.
I find the document you mentioned is for DAQ PCI board. Is the pin assignment identical between the DAQ PCI and PCIe-1429?
    Many thanks.

  • Windows 7 driver for PCI Simple Controller

I installed the Lenovo Windows 7 Professional upgrade on my R400 (7443-CTO) from Windows XP Professional.  The ThinkVantage tools repeatedly shows I need a driver for the "PCI Simple Controller".  I have been unable to find that driver on the Lenovo support site.  Any assistance to help resolve this issue would be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

To create shortcuts or folders under the startmenu in Win7 you can rightclick "All Programs" under the startmenu. Then you can choose "Open" or "Open all users". If you choose "Open" you will be able to change the startmenu for the current user account only and when you select "Open all users" you can change the startmenu for all user accounts on the computer. The startmenu in Windows is basically just folders and shortcuts stored in a folder on your computer. The startmenu for all users are stored under "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" and for the current user under "C:\Users\<useraccount>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu"
So let's say you want the "Thinkvantage" folder under the Windows startmenu where it should normally be after installing Lenovo toolbox and then the shortcut for Lenovo Toolbox under that folder. Then you can rightclick "All Programs" under the startmenu and select "Open all users" from the context menu. You should then see a explorer windows with the folder "Programs". If you open the "Programs" folder you will see the same contents as you see under the "startmenu -> All Programs". Since this is the area for the common startmenu for all user accounts there might be some more entries under the startmenu compared to what you see in this windows. By selecting "Open" instead of "Open all users" as explained above you should find the rest. So when you rightclicked, selected "open all users" and then doublecliked on "Programs" then you can rightclick somewhere in that window and choose "New -> Folder" from the context menu. Then you can give the folder the name "Thinkvantage". Then open the "Thinkvantage" folder and create a shortcut for Lenovo Toolbox. After you have done these steps you should find the Thinkvantage folder under "All Programs" and then the shortcut for Lenovo Toolbox under the Thinkvantage folder. This is how you can easily change the startmenu in Windows to add, remove or change entries under "All Programs".
Normally after installing Lenovo Toolbox it should be under "All Programs -> Thinkvantage" and not sure why that is not the case for you, but then you can add it manually like explained above. When i installed Lenovo Toolbox a shortcut and the Thinkvatage folder was created under "All Programs" during the installation. Also if you install the "System interface driver" and "Hotkey feature set" you can start Lenovo Toolbox by pressing the blue thinkvantage button on your computer. Unless you already installed "System Update 4.0" i would recommend to do so. System Update will find the drivers and software from Lenovo for your computer and give you a list where you can select those you want to download and install. System update will then download and install the drivers and software you selected and you don't have to download and install each one of them manually one by one. It will save you a lot of time. You can find system update for Windows 7 using the link below.

User Access Control is a new feature of Windows that started with Windows Vista so therefore you won't find it in XP. Only Vista and Windows 7 got UAC.
Yes it's a bit late over here I'm sure i will enjoy the weekend and hope you will do the same.

  • Custom PCI Device Driver for Phar Lap

    Hi all,
I have deployed Labview Real-Time to a compact-PCI card in a cPCI chassis (non-NI brand for several unavoidable reasons). I need to do high-speed communication with another card in the chassis at minimum rates of 20 MB/s read, 4MB/s write - but preferably much higher. After extensive testing, we believe that NI VISA is incapable of maintaining those speeds in our system, and it barely maintains half those (side note: the hardware is more than capable as we have deployed embedded software that easily achieved the desired data rates).
Another engineer is responsible for finding ways to optimize VISA. The purpose of this post is to explore the option of writing a custom kernel driver for Phar Lap 2013 in C to handle communication with the other card. I have experience in writing windows kernel drivers, but the NI documentation for Phar Lap is severely lacking in this area.
    So the overarching questions are:
1- Is it possible to do this?
2- If so, is it possible to use LabWindows/CVI to do this?
Any and all input is appreciated. Thanks

    Hi:
    Yes, it does.
You need this driver for the PCI Device.
