Well, I would say that the Xperia Go is more like the Xperia U, which both use NovaThor chipset with A9 dc processor and 512mb or RAM. Xperia P has more RAM (1gb) so it's a bit faster and can handle more running apps due to more memory.

  • TV SideView support for Xperia ZL IR blaster

    Phone: Xperia ZL C6506, Android 4.2.2 build 10.3.1.A.2.67
    TV SideView version 2.2.2
    I have my cable STB box added via the built-in Remote Control app and the box can be successfully control from the phone. However, it seems that the TV SideView app treats the Xperia ZL as a normal Android device without an IR blaster, preventing IR remote control devices from being added and also locking the app into portrait mode.
    TV SideView is now almost worthless to me, since I cannot change to a show directly. IR blaster support is available as far back as the Sony Tablet S, but somehow, is not added to the Xperia ZL, which is several years newer.
    I have tried resetting the app and also uninstall/reinstall, neither of which was successful. I have also tried removing and re-adding the STB to the remote control app without success.

    Thanks, SamT, but according to this Sony Mobile thread, TV SideView is the responsibility of Sony Electronics, rather than Sony Mobile.
    FWIW, the TV SideView app is under Sony Corporation, rather than Sony Mobile Communications.
    Edit: I should like to point out that the Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Tablet X, Xperia ZL, and Tablet S all share the same API, so interfacing with the IR blaster is the same across all four devices.

  • No sound from text message xperia z3 lollipop

    Hi, since the z3 update to lollipop I no longer get a text sound if I leave open the text message app. I've been through every setting and downloaded other message apps but no fix. I've also reformatted the phone and deleted any 3rd party apps. My sd card is in good condition so I'm thinking this could be an oversight with lollipop. Does anyone know if this is the case?

  • Battery changes in newer Xperia phones ...

    I am currently looking for a new (smart?) phone. Initially I found the newer Xperia models quite interesting ... until ...
    I found most models do not allow changing the battery by the customer.
    I see that Apple is crapping down their devices (batteries glued into MacBook, iPhone, ...) like that ... since I know that I have decided to keep my fingers from Apple products.
    Seems like Sony is now walking the same ThrowAwayProduct path as Apple.
    Folks, you know that people do have to change their phone's battery. You also know that it's even more likely with smart phones as they usually have more charge cycles / year than "old" regular mobiles.
    For sure the majority of customers are also willing and capable to exchange the battery of their phone on their own - if you just let them.
    I have no nerve to search for Sony service centers, find time during my working day to get the battery changed, wait there ... and finally spend money for few mechanical steps I would be able to do on my own if the device was properly designed.
    I was really sooo close buying an Xperia ... now I look for another brand probably.
    So when will Sony come back to greener paths?

    Well, it's true that some of our models use a built in battery (for example Xperia T and Xperia S), and we have done so for some time (X10 Mini I believe was the first Android unit with built in battery). But we also offer products with replaceable batteries, for example Xperia V and Xperia J which are new models.

  • Error Message: Unfortunately Xperia Home has stopped working

    I have had my Z3 for nearly 3 weeks now and until this morning all was working well - loved the phone! 
    2 things happened this morning (may be connected).
    On first trying to use the phone (from it being asleep overnight) the screen froze and it would do nothing.  I left it a few minutes (so it went back to sleep again) and all appeared then to be fine.  I did a restart.
    A little later (no more than 90mins) I found the phone to be showing an error message - Unfortunately Xperia Home has stopped working - (OK).   On clicking OK, message appeared again, and again and again. I tried rebooting the phone and hoped this would clear the error. It didn't.  I was, however, by a very round about route able to get on-line.

    Error message still came up but would go once I clicked OK. I managed to get online and did a search for the error - found this thread:

    I had a system update that had downloaded and was ready to install, so before trying to clear all the data on xperia home (as suggested in the thread - Apps - All - Xperia Home - clear data) I ran the update.  This didn't clear the error - Xperia home has stopped working. 
    So, I followed the instructions on the thread above ie, all apps, xperia home, clear data. (It doesn't actually clear all the data, your accounts, passwords etc are all left intact. However, it does clear your home screens of all settings and personalisation (although it didn't change my background).  
    Touch wood, the phone now seems to be OK (having reset my home screens.
    Having been an xperia user for a number of years (I loved my Z and had no problems with it and actually delayed upgrading) I am extremely disappointed that this flagship phone should start giving error messages such as this, particularly after only 3 weeks of use.  I only hope that this is the last time I see this message!
    At least am tech savvy enough to have been able to circumvent the error, get online, find a solution quickly and sort the problem out - all done in the space of 40mins on the way to work!!   
    Has anyone else had this problem?
    Does Sony have any answers as to why this has occurred?

  • Xperia Z1 mic issue (low volume) when using WeChat

    Was searching this forum for a solution, but to no avail. Using Wechat on Xperia Z1 with Android 5 is impossible because mic records at very low volume and other parties strugle to hear me. Microphone suppresion and voice enhancement are turned off, equalizer set to normal. PC companion shows most current version of software. Dear users and/or Sony, could you suggest for any solution?

  • Xperia Z Screen Cracked & Touch not working..

    Hii.. This is regarding my xperia z phone. I purchased in april 2013, got a replacement Phone in NOV 2013 and now I had my fone in good condition.. I got my scratchguard changed n got a bubble in between.. I pressed vertically so that the bubble may disappear but it cracked my device from the top..        The top part of the cracked screen has lost its touch.. I went to the Service centre talked to the manager And he said that It cannot be replaced as it is out of purchase date.. he told me a figure around 15k to replace the fone..    M using the fone by rotating n all.. I didnt xpect sony xperia Z to b so so so weak.. Its really heartbreaking that i lost my fone while adjusting d screenguard bubble,,  I need SoNy to read my post so that they could provide a better option for me.. 15k is half d price of the fone n i think i deserve a replacement again.. This fone cracked so lightly n lost its touch..  I read that this fone was strong but I think d replacement gave me an already damaged Sony xperia Z.. Its just 5 months n this happens. .  NEED YOUR ATTENTION SONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

    With due respect i am reporting this issue to mark your attention regarding the virtual damage developed at its own in my xperia z I have purchased the Xperia Z on 2nd Feb 2014During the use of 2 months i got some hanging issue in my phone and i was advised to replace it by sony service center at Faridabad. Howsoever i simply left it there for replacement.After a week i got a phone which was said to be new. At the time of picking it i saw a slight line over the top of screen. That line was hardly visible if you will tilt the phone then you will see it otherwise you will never recognize it.But the executive said that it is not a problem you can use it, if you will face any problem we will further replace it(Because xperia z series can't be open so the replacement was the only option) There after i got a kitkat update and i have upgraded it at my office via wifi.After ward i got a sever problem of heating during calling and regular use.On enquiry from service centre they said it is not a problem it is happening due to some unstable version of google service and advised to uninstall the google service till the next update comes. I have un-stalled and reinstalled it later but no relief regarding the heating problem.One side i was concious about the heating problem and suddenly my phone starts unresponsive many times. Slowly and gradually the slight mark on screen at top stretched to top to bottom and i was helpless because i was in my village where there was no such service centres available. This time my friend advised to approach service center.and i went there to diagnose all these issues.     I just bought a Z2 as an upgrade to my Xperia S and am having issues with Xperia Transfer.
    Xperia Transfer Mobile is not compatible!! And Xperia Transfer Desktop crashes when I got to extract files (it worked before I updated to android 4.1.2) How can I transfer all my stuff to my new phone!?!? Especially need messages and contacts. Will happily sit and Bluetooth my 2132 photos if need be - but I'd rather not.
    Please somebody help - I've been trying for 2 days! I upgraded to the z2 so it was easier to transfer than to an iPhone - starting to regret my decision

    Didn't you get your lifetime Box free 50GB storage? Try storing all your pics there than download tovyour Z2. As for contacts, if you save it on Google, it should auto load it when you sync your Z2 for the first time.

    In BlackBerry Desktop Software locate the backup button and choose full or quick backup and include the files you want from your media storage.     When the backup is complete go to the Xperia Transfer option in PC Companion or Bridge for Mac, select the BlackBerry phone option and follow the on-screen instructions.
