8Bananas Bluetooth Dongle and Stereo Headset Review/Opinion

Anyone using the 8Bananas dongle or stereo bluetooth headset? I have searched for a review but I haven't found anything informative yet. RIght now they are selling the pair for $99, which seems like a fair deal.

How about you go read my original post before offering your opinion. I am not asking for anybody to do anything for me. I want to know about any first hand experience from somebody that owns the product. I am requesting this because there are no reviews that I know of.

Flashing android rom in Linux (Xperia Sola)

I have installed Arch Linux but cannot find suitable material on setting up drivers and utilities for flashing rom on Linux specifically arch linux. I am using Sony Xperia Sola and I want to flash custom rom into it.
I can setup arch even if instructions are available for other distro Linux Mint and Ubuntu so any link can come in handy.
I was using flashtool in windows but after shifting to Arch, I am not sure whats the right procedure to do it.
I have unlocked bootloader and rooted rom (FXP kernel + MIUI) installed as of now which I want to change asap.

Ok I created the udev file and this the ouput of my lsusb

I have enabled developer option and the phone is set at MTP mode.
Edit 1 - Its weird , the product ID changes after setting the device in developer mode.

Problems with Smart Wireless Headset Pro after upgrading my Xperia Sola to ICS

Just want to let the community, and Sony, know that since I "upgraded" my Xperia Sola to ICS, the Text to Speech on my Smart Wireless Headset Pro is not functioning. It used to work just fine when I had Gingerbread on my phone, but when I upgraded to ICS, the Text to Speech voice is not output on the headset, but on the phone, on the call speaker... Hope this bug gets fixed soon.
Maybe someone already knows of a solution?

There is a new update available for the Smart Wireless headset pro, MW1 (0.1.C.0.3).
Which software version are you running your MW1 on?
If you don't have the latest I suggest that you use SUS to update your software.

Widgets and features in Sony Xperia phones not available in Sony Ericsson Xperia Phones

HI All,
I am using the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V and my friend is using the Sony Xperia Sola.
Widgets and features that are available in Sony Xperia phones are not available in Sony Ericsson Xperia Phones even after upgrading my phone to android ICS.
Can any one please tell me, Why this difference.
Or
Is their any way to get those features ,easy shortcuts to some frequently used settings and nice widgets
Finally. If these are not available for sony ericsson mobiles . Please do give us those features as an separate update.

You are right, unfortunately some apps are made available only for certain models, also some carriers may request some apps to be included or be left out of their custom firmware.
Most of the additional widgets and apps are available in the Play store for you to download.

Sony Xperia J and headphones with controls

Hi All
I've just got a Sony Xperia J and am having little joy with the headphones. I've done searching and seen lots of posts about it, but I'm still not 100% sure on the situation unfortently.
The phone is CTIA. My headphones are CTIA (Altec Lansing Muzx® Ultra - MZX606). I've also tried another pair of CTIA (Skull Candy) headphones with the same result. Both work on iPhones fine, with full button functionality.
Just plug them in - nothing.
Hold down the centre button as you plug them in - Phone acknowledges them being plugged in and sound comes through them.
The next/back/play/answer etc buttons on them have no effect at all.
Why? (Feel free to get technical!). Does the Xperia J even support these buttons? I've looked at the Smart Headset and am concerned if I bought one the buttons still wouldn't work. Plus, I really don't want to buy more headphones as I already have a nice set of headphones with all the buttons I need that I've been using with my previous phone
I really want the buttons working so I can tuck it away safely on my daily commute but easily turn the volume up and down etc, as I have been doing for years on my previous phone.

I believe the problem might be related to voltage being used. Third party headsets that comes with music controls tends to use other voltage values compared to headsets just having a call key.
Xperia J provides 2V and if the headset requires more you might experience difficulties like this.
This might help you finding a third party headset that is fully compatible with your phone.

Who have knowledge from Femtocell technology at Sony (Xperia Z2 and Zperia Z)

Contact request for a person who have knowledge from Femtocell technology at Sony (Xperia Z2 and Zperia Z).
I have been unable to resolve mobile data connectivity issues occuring with femtocell. Me and the operator have been trying to find a resolution for 2 months now. The thing is that this problem occurs only with Sony mobilephones. So i would need to find a developer from you who have better knowledgemtnt from the technicalside of your phones.

How are you attempting to connect them?
Looking at the Experia J features it does seem to support Wifi Hotspot, but there is no mention of a Bluetooth hotspot. Different phones offer different things.
The iPad issues the message, because there doesn;t seem to be anything it can do with it. But this is not something apple is blocking its more a limitation or a non present feature of the phone.
From the Manual which I assume you've read through:
To share your phone’s data connection as a portable Wi-Fi® hotspot
1 From the Home screen, tap .
2 Find and tap Settings > More… > Tethering & portable hotspot.
3 Tap Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.
4 Enter the Network SSID for the network. Tap the Security field to select a
security type.
5 If required, enter a password.
6 Tap Save.
7 Mark the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot checkbox. The phone starts broadcasting its
Wi-Fi® network name (SSID). You can now connect to this network with up to
8 computers or other devices.
8 Unmark the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot checkbox when you want to stop sharing
your data connection via Wi-Fi®
When that is set up, you can use your iPad to look for the Wifi network the phone is providing and connect to it as you would any wifi network.

Stereo Headset for iPhone 3G

I am on my second iPhone 3G (the first one had to be exchanged due to many, many glitches), and I am wondering why in the heck both of my iPhones stereo headsets won't work? It is super frustrating! I am using the headset that came with the phone, and in both instances it seems like the set never plugs in properly to the jack. Is anyone else having this problem? What is the deal? I am so frustrated with this phone!

I just purchased these and although the Sony site says they are perfect for use with the iPhone, there is a major inconvenience: the iPhone apparently doesn't support the skip forward or back or fast forward or review keys. Basically you can only start and stop the audio (and control its volume) from the headset. I contacted Sony and they said that this is a problem with iPhones implementation of the AVRCP Bluetooth protocol (funny that they say the unit works perfectly with the iPhone). I'm using the 3GS, by the way.
On the plus side, the sound is excellent, the telephone controls work just fine, pairing was very easy, and they are quite comfortable. I've decided not to return the headphones and I'm hoping that a future OS release for the iPhone will solve the AVRCP problem (wishful thinking, I guess).

This is now a really strange question.
I would like to use the phone as a hotspot(4g) for the Z tabled and at the same time I would like to have the smartwatch2 and a sony headset(wireless) connected via NFC and liste to music.
Is this possible?
Isnt it to much for the phone? any one done something like this? Sure battery is pretty soon gone, but if you dont look at that.

I tether my Z1 with my Z or other Xperias and use a sony MW1 (bluetooth headphones) and a SW2

Hi i have bought Sony Xperia Z2 from India 2 days before and im really happy about the phone. I have few suggestions that i like to share. Loaded Android 4.4.2 _Version 17.1.1.A.0.402
Stereo speakers active when ringing
More better algorithm to make the images more sharper. now the image looks more processed. also in front camera
Touch focusing during 4K and all Video Recording options. The autofocus feature tends to focus all the time if something moves in the frame.
Option to record 4K @ 24 FPS Format. That will help people like us to use the phone in film productions that also helps in promotions of the phone.
Make little changes in the algorithm to make the videos lot sharper, sometimes 4K and other video formats looks over processed.
Really happy with the Xperia Z2 and the feautures that having

8100 Stereo headset

I recently purchased a 8100c from walmart for the at&t network. Now that I finally have some music loaded to the memory card, I've been trying to get a stereo headset to work with it. I don't care about the bluetooth headsets out there, I just want to plug in a standard wired in stereo headset. I have an adapter for the plug and a stereo headset (walkman type, no mic), but music only comes through the right channel. This is driving me nuts! My last phone was a Sony Ericson W600i walkman phone that I purchased solely for the music capabilities and the only reason I really wanted to upgrade to the BB was for the media player (that reviews seem to really like) and the expandible memory that my W600i lacked. Can anyone help me? Thanks
