  • Xperia Z2 touch screen going rampage

When I was using the phone, the touch screen would suddenly go rampage as if touching random places on the screen. So, I decided to activate the dev option and log down the pointer movement, it turns out like a big cross and pointer moving around the screen frame, something like this: IXI , and top and bottom of course, in fact I was actually making circles in the middle of the screen. Any idea how this happen? I doubted that it might be a static electric discharge phenomenon, due to the usage of of low quality matte display screen protector which I constantly rubbing lightly. However, that is just my guess and I would like to hear from you guys as well. Helps and suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

  • Sony Xperia Z touch screen not responding

My Sony Xperia Z has been giving me problems ever since I bought it in May 2013.By October 2013 I had to send this phone for repair twice. In the last 9 months though it was doing well and there no problem till today afternoon when I found out that the touch screen was not responding. The phone was on charge when this happened and there was a heavy downpour though not a single drop fell on the phone.I tried using the power button to switch it on and off but could not use the shut the phone option because the touch screen wont respond.I have rebooted the phone and switched it off using the power+volume up button multiple times since then. After about an hour when I was trying for the umpteenth time to key in my password I saw that some numbers were randomly getting punched in.After several attempts the phone's touch screen did respond and I was able to make a call but post that the touch screen went back to the not responding mode.Another hour later and exposing the phone to the sun beating down while i was in a car helped and this time I was able to see all my msgs and mails. My elation was shortlived as the phone went back to the touch screen not responding mode.I had a short trip to make by air and I switched off my phone and put it on charge using the USB connected to my laptop. When I switched on after landing I found that I was able to key in my password but after that the phone again got stuck.Since this last occurence about two hours ago the touchscreen has not responded. It is frustrating to see that msgs are coming, people are calling and I can see the numbers, mails are getting downloaded  but I cant do anything about it.Right now the phone is submerged in a jar of rice in the hope that the mositure might dry out and it will be back to normal again. Please suggest whether using the hair dryer would help or not.I must repeat the phone has not got wet.I also removed the screen guard on both the ends and the back cover to allow the phone to breath.Waiting anxiously for help

  • Hairline crack in touch screen (not the glass) in Xperia Z1

I have a 5 month old Xperia Z1 mobile phone which has never been dropped or knocked.  On removing it from a padded pocket in my bag I noticed that the touch screen under the glass has a diagonal hairline crack originating from the top centre of the phone to under the right hand corner (the external glass has no crack).  After researching this I note that this is a known fault with the Xperia series mobile phones.   http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/05/30/bbcs-watchdog-investigates-xperia-z1-cracking-screen-issue-sony...
I have not been able to contact Sony for advice using their contact us email form (dead link), live chat (not currently operating), or by phone (busy signal whenever I call).
I am really dissatisfied with my phone cracking like this particularly when it is not the result of negligence.  Can you please respond to my query and restore my faith in your customer service...

  • Touch Screen Issues on Xperia Z1

Who else is experiencing touch screen issues?
On my phone, the screen fails to register the finger gesture appropriately, for instance, a tap on the screen will be identified as scroll up. single touch on the back button will be registered as many taps, ultimately exiting the application.
OHH!this phone has made my life **bleep**!

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I'm sorry to hear. If the touch does not work, it's not much that you can do on your own more than performing a software repair to exclude software related problems. This can be done via our program Update service:
    http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/
Download and install SUS, follow the instructions that appear.
Note that the personal data will be lost when performing this repair and if you cannot access the menu, you are unable to back up this data.
If the problem persist, I suggest that you contact your local support team to get information about how you should proceed in this case:

  • Proximity Sensor locks touch screen

Hello, I got a Z1C, the screen broke and I replaced it with a new funcioning one, but the problem is that whenever the proximity sensor notices that something (ear, hand, pocket) is closing in on it it does its function of locking the touch screen but it wont release it.
meaning if the proximity sensor senses something is near it it will lock the touchscreen but it wont release it, not unless I restart the phone by pulling the sim card out/in.
This is very annoying seeing as whenever I pull it out of my pocket / make a phone call I gotta pull the sim out and in again.
I tried changing screen, sent the phone to a lab who said that the sensor is perfectly fine and even hard reseted the phone, nothing works!
is there anything I can do? any drivers related to the proximity sensor?
    thanks in advance,
    Tal Lavi.

I can't be sure this will work but you could try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
If that fails then you need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

  • Touch screen failure

I bought my Xperia z3 in December in Orlando but I live in Brazil.  And when I came back I detected a failure on a lane of my touch screen. I already contacted the Brazilian technical support but they can do nothing because the warranty is not international. And if I send to the American technical support they can not send it back to Brazil. So did I lose my money? I can not believe it. Does anyone have an idea?

Sorry to hear that, but the warranty only apply in the country the phone was purchased, also you could ask if you could pre-pay the shipping cost to send it back to Brazil.

I bought a xperia z 2 just a week ago and now the touch screen cracked while I was cleaning the glass. How is that even possible? It cracked as if I poured hot water in a layer of ice. Now that I went to claim the warranty to the mobile company. they dont even accept it and asks for extra 385€ to repair the glass. I will never buy sony's phone ever again in my life...Waste of my 600€ and all my savings..

  • Xperia Z3 Black Screen Of Death (Twice!!!)

Hey guys, I purchased the Xperia Z3 about a month ago... the phone was brilliant until about 3 days of use the phone went black and i could still use to touch screen and hear all the sound effects but there was no image on the screen other than a backlight. So i got the phone replaced and hoped it was just a faulty unit. However after using the replacment phone for about a month the exact same thing happened on sunday! i have tried factory reset and still no luck.  I have now got another brand new replacement coming from my phone company due to them believing it may have been a bad batch of phones. I was just wondering if anyone has had this issue and knows a reason why this is happening? i do remember turning on some sort of screen optimization setting a day before this issue happened on both occations... could it be a software issue causing the hardware to fail?? I want answers because if this happens for a third time I will seriously have to consider never buying a sony product again. Very frustrating

I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't heard of any issues like this before, which makes is really strange you've had these issues. If you experience further issues you should contact your local Xperia Support to proceed with this in the best possible way.
