i have the phone but it has a broken screen which i cant use the touch totally and i have a password that i cant open but the touch isnt functational so is there any way that i could do a backup to my other phone without fixing it?

If the LCD still works but touch is damaged then you can use a USB OTG cable and a USB mouse to take control of the touch function

You cannot. However, if your back up is through iTunes on your computer and you do an internet search for something like "iPhone BackUpExtractor", I believe there is software that will help you access the SQL database that is your back up. You may be able to pull out what you need.
Once you restore from a back up, any data that was on the phone is gone.

There is NO such procedure.
You can't 'increment' something that doesn't exist can you?
Please increment the previous number by 1. Can you do that? Of course not because there IS no previous number.
BY DEFINITION (see the doc) an incremental backup for any level but 0 REQUIRES a previous backup:
an incremental backup copies only those data blocks that have changed since a previous backup
A level 1 incremental backup can be either of the following types:
A differential incremental backup, which backs up all blocks changed after the most recent incremental backup at level 1 or 0
A cumulative incremental backup, which backs up all blocks changed after the most recent incremental backup at level 0
Incremental backups are differential by default.

Hi guys, I have a broken screen, is there anywhere if I hooked it up with a external screen. Like I tried hooking it up to my tv but basically the tv was a seperate screen in itself and wasn't apple to see the login propt screen. My screen is so bad I can't see hardly anything, just lines ands tuff, any hope here to still use it with a external. Also is it possible to put another computer of the drive of the powerbook. Thanks

If you are talking about an iMac, I don't really know much about them. On my PowerBook the F7 key is the mirror key for monitors. You might try that to see if the TV reflects your desktop.
If I understand the last question on your post, you can hook your computer up to another computer with a firewire cable then start yours up while holding down the T key to put it into Target Disk Mode. Your hard drive icon to show up on the other computer.

IPhone with broken screen can't sync, what will I lose?

I apologise if this is a really stupid question.
I last backed up my phone a few weeks ago, carried on taking pictures with it etc, and then dropped it, breaking the screen which turned black with a single white line down the middle.
I can receive calls by guessing where to swipe so it is sort of working.
A new iPhone is in the post, but I can't back this phone up because I get the following message when I try:
"iTunes could not back up the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be backed up."
I have been searching the web, but can't find a way to unlock the phone.
So (unless anyone has a genius idea, in which case I will love them forever), what will I lose if I don't sync?
I don't think I should lose the photos I took since my last sync, since Photostream should take care of that, no?

There is no way for you to backup with a broken screen.
You will lose whatever wasn't backup.

IPhone gift: Can I restore from backup without her knowing?

I have bought a new iphone 5S for my wife's Christmas present.
I know her Apple ID and so I know that I can restore from iCloud backup
However.... Can I download the iCloud data to her new phone without her knowing OR without it deleting the content from her old (current) phone?
It would be nice to give her it on Christmas Day all done - without all the set-up fuss that you can get.

Plug her old phone into iTunes and back it up. Plug the new phone into iTunes and restore it from the backup you made.

Xperia Z3 Broken Screen

I broke the screen of my four month old Xperia Z3.
I am having hard time drawing my pattern because half of the screen did not function.
After several attemps,my Xperia Z3 change to airplane mode.
I tried accessing a sony to have my phone block but it is impossible for my phone to connec to an internet connection because it change to flight mode without me doing it.two days past and I realized that the only option left for my phone is to have the broken glass change but I am hesitant because I am not sure if it will be good as new after the repair. Also I was thinking if the information inside my phone will remain intact.Can anyone please share their experiences, cost, where to, the best thing to do before the change?

On a flight to switzerland my screen was crushed on the airplane .... now in Switzerland and want to use my computer but the screen is not useable at all, if I buy cables can I use my computer by hooking it up to a projection screen or tv?
If I order a new mac book from Switzerland can I order a North American one and have it delivered here? Help, I have 50 GB of photos to load up and edit!!!

Speak to your local store and ask the question. This is just a user to user forum. Don't forget, new machines typically run Lion, and are not downgradeable to Snow Leopard. Most Macs offer that compatibility, but you have to be careful which cables to get. I'm assuming the problem machine is a MacBook Pro? Do you know what age the machine is? We need to know the week and year of the machine. You can get this by finding its serial number, and reading off the 3rd, 4th, and 5th character of the serial number. All other parts of the serial number are key to your warranty, and should NOT be stated on the forum.

It's a good thing you have your Camera Roll backed up from the last sync you did with either iTunes or iCloud!
Your Camera Roll photos can be retrieved from the last sync once you get your replacement iPhone. The rest of your photos are backed up elsewhere on your computer from your last sync.

Nokia 6300 Broken Screen (can't see a thing) help ...

Hi guys.
I've got a Nokia 6300 and the screen broke the other day and I'm unable to see a thing. I can still use the phone though (blindly of course)
I'd like to transfer my numbers from my phone to my sim and to be able to do this without being to see.
So if someone could help me with shortcuts? I think I can press the menu key, then some numbers (am i right?) rather than up down etc etc.
Any help would be really really appreciated as i'm stuffed without a phone at the moment!

Broken screen on z2 and cant backup the files

I have the z2 and i am trying to back up the files on it. the device is showing on my computer but is saying that there are no files. any help would be great as i have to send my phone in for repair and do not want to lose my photos (it has my very first photos of when my baby was born so really dont want to lose them)

Hi, if you have/use an SD CARD...make sure the pictures are stored on the card & not internal memory on your phone,you can then take out the card & keep it safe whilst your phone is away.
You would be asked anyway NOT to send your sim or sd card away with the phone.....simple solution so i hope this helps

How can I make a backup without Time Machine?

I'm finally upgrading to Mountain Lion, but my Seagate GoFlex harddrive isn't letting me backup via time machine. do I have to reformat the harddrive to be used with time machine? or is there an app I can download so I can get a clean install of OS X without having to loose any of my files or apps?

The disk for Time Machine should be firmatted as HFS+
If you want to do a backup so that you can do an erase & install, I suggest that you make a bootable clone with either CCC or SuperDuper.

Can I undo a backup without having done a previous one?

Here's what happened to me, my father used my macbook to do a backup in his iPhone a few days ago, and today I connected my iPhone to my macbook for the FIRST TIME, but when I was going to set it up I accidentally chose to use my father's iphone backup! So now I lost all of my contacts, my messages/whatsapp conversations, my photos etc.
Would anyone know if I can UNDO this backup and still keep my phone the way it was before I made this mess?! Since it was the first time I connected my iPhone to my laptop I had never done a backup on it before! I'm desperate!

No. You can't undo it. You chose to restore your 'new' phone from the backup of an existing phone. In that case, it was not backed up before the restore took place. There is nothing to restore from. You will need to erase the phone and start over. You can re-sync your contacts from whatever cloud service you were syncing them from. If you had Photo Stream turned on, the last month of photos will still be there. IF you had already turned on iCloud backups and a backup was completed to iCloud, you can erase the phone and restore from that.
Otherwise, the information is gone.
