How to Identify which panel your Xperia Z1 Compact using ?
You may need root to find that out but if your Xperia Z1 Compact is not rooted then use a file manager like “Solid Explorer”. Open it and then navigate to #_ System Root > sys > devices > mdss_dsi_panel > panel_id and Check what is mentioned there.
Sony has used different panels for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 F and now for Xperia Z1 Compact, well it seems display lottery will affect future flagship devices also.

They use different factories and companies across a production run (e.g. JDI, Sharp and LG for iPhone 5) and the panels will have slightly different characteristics despite being of the same type. Apple chooses to callibrate each panel in the factory, however, which not many others do. Customers should demand this, though, and just return their phones if they're not happy with their panels.

Well, the headphone jack is designed to be compatible with Noise Cancelling headphones from Sony, that uses 5 pins in the pole, however, a regular 3 segments headphones should work without issues... the problem is if you try to use incompatible Headsets (the ones with microphones) since the use an additional segment and it my be located in a different way than what Sony uses.
My advice is, if you are not the most hardcore audiophile, that you get a medium range Bluetooth Headphones. Those will be compatible with your phone...
I have had Altec Lansing BackBeat 906, 903... Plantronics BackBeat 903+, and currently use the BackBeat Go2.
Out of those the Go2 are the best sounding headphones for me (I do not care for tons of bass, so the amount of bass with those is very good)... but the battery is bad, around 3.5 hours. The fit is good, people complain when trying to use as advertised, but I actually found a better way to place them, making a loop around and front of my ears...... Price ~70$
All previous ones had a battery of 7 hours, but the rubber material of the piece around your ear hardens with time and breaks (after a couple of years of use)... the Go2 seems to be better built.
Finally I would recommend to you the Jaybirds Bluebuds X if you are willing to pay 140~160 $.... with excellent battery life, and sound quality.
If you want to go cheaper... Sony's SBH line has plenty of option with good reviews... SBH20 being the cheapest
And if you want to go crazy expensive, Parrot Zik are over 400$ but apparently they are the best all around. I tried them once.

Display panel used in Z1

Hi, There are roumors that Sony is using the leftover display panels of Xperia Z in our Z1. Is there any way to check the same, whether we have got a triluminous display or not?
And which panel is used in Xperia Z and Z1?
I would appreciate a reply from any of Sony officials for this.

All Xperia Z1 uses a Triluminos display.
The panel is TFT in both Xperia Z and Z1.

How to structure a control and its display in the same while loop and same display panel (instead of display panel and a seperate parameter-setting panel )

As you can see, I need to adjust the Target position to certain value (like 1068.88), the actual position is showing 1066.99. What kind of flow control structure will achive this goal?
Notice the Labview example "Vibration analysis" may shed some light on this issue. Will someone give out a simpler code to show how it works?

Just to make sure we are on the same page, you would like to set the position, then monitor it. Is that correct? In that case, you might have a few options. You could have a sequence that would set the position, and then a while loop that would monitor the position, however this wouldn't allow you to update anything else. The other option would be to use parallel while loops, which would be similar to the parallel sequence structure you have below. The only issue with this would be that if you are calling the driver from both loops, you could run into errors. The Vibration Analysis.vi takes the setpoint, then calculates the actual available position, so it won't serve as a very good example, code-wise.

Solaris10/amd64 and Xorg display rotation using Nvidia 5200 driver

Hello,
in both XFree86 and in Xorg X11 implementations, the driver for Nvidia cards include support for display rotation which is quite nice feature having display which support it. I like it in linux and also would like to give it a try in Solaris10/amd64 which I'm tryint to use as a developer system now, but unfortunately I'm not able to find out where the configuration file(s) for bundled Xorg resides, or at least from looking into "top" utility I see process Xorg which I assume is Xorg's X server. My other assumptions are that if using Xorg, then Sun also uses Xorg's drivers and also Xorg's configuration -- if this is not true, please correct me.

The Xorg configuration file is /etc/X11/xorg.conf but does not exist by default, instead autoconfiguring on startup. To generate a configuration file, do a command line login as root and run /usr/X11/bin/Xorg -configure.

Can I place a 13" retina display panel into my 2011 MBP?

I was wondering (moreso wishing and hoping) if it's possible to have my 2011 MBP display panel replaced with the recent 13" retina display panel. My 2011 MBP is just out of warranty and its display panel has developed a green line issue that seems too common among MBP displays.

The best option would be to take this to Apple and pay for it to be fixed. The display will be expensive to fix, so if you feel you can, purchasing a replacement from eBay or somewhere online would be possible. You can not fit a Retina display on as the hings and connectors are different, and even if they were not, the firmware and drivers your Mac will have (and continue to have as the model number tells the system you should have a standard display) can not drive the higher resolution efficiently. This would lead to performance and battery issues.
Consider buying a desktop stand and display for your Mac as well and use the built in display only when necessary. Small problems with LCDs usually develop into worse situations quickly.

Did anyone try to upload and then display documents using HTML5 technology. Also recently i came across SAP is using Crocodoc,"an HTML5 documents to display their presentations". I welcome all of your thoughts and suggestions.

I have the same need as vudean. I don't understand the security issue. If I type a document using Pages or whatever, why can't I upload the document to a web site? I think Apple should make the standard web "file upload control" available to iPad users.
I understand that there should be some limitations, but it should be possible to upload standard user files. I can upload them to Dropbox, so I don't se the big difference.
Does Apple read this? If not, where can I propose this feature to them?

I've got the labview vi written to read my IMU data from a serial port in COM1 and it displays onto the table on the front panel. I'm having trouble getting this data onto an excel spreadsheet. Any ideas?

Selecting and running vi's on a compact FieldPoint 2120 via remote panel

Hi,
I'm trying to provide two html files to run two different vi's on a compact fieldpoint. I can run either of them by setting them as 'run as startup' in the Build Specification which creates the startup.rtexe program on the controller but the only way I can run two different vi's on the fieldpoint is by renaming the files in the startup directory before calling the html file (and that doesn't work that well). Is there a better process to allow different programs to be run on the compact fieldpoint via the remote panel/html calls?

I think the best way to get multiple HTMLs linked to their respective VIs would be to set your VIs as the Startup VIs when you build the EXE to deploy to your Compact Fieldpoint. A KnowledgeBase article describing the steps to do this can be found here:

Next, all you'll need to do to get your two HTML files to run two different VIs will be these steps:
1.Build the HTML for each VI you want to control
2. Enable the WebServer for your cFP
3. FTP your HTML files to the www folder on your cFP
Once you restart the cFP, your EXE will run at startup with both VIs and you can access them by navigating to http://<ip address>/<vi name>.html. Just to double check, I did this on my computer and had no problem loading both HTMLs or taking control of both VIs at the same time.

Are Sony STM10 microphone compatible with Xperia Z3 Compact? BRMichael

Even though Sony has been extremely vague and uninformative regarding product conformity and publishing (ANY) information regarding this product, I can assert that the STM10 does in fact work with my Xperia z3 Compact. I am still reviewing this microphone and will continue to post into this relevant thread so that other customers do not experience a profound lack of consumer information as I did. Pros1. 5pin provides advanced functionality, which appears to facilitate native interaction with the Z3C phone2. Very nice performing microphone for the price, no really.... verified with low volume operation, very high quality recordings. Note *at this point, Hight SPL operation (IE: Loud Concert Situations) remain untested.3. its possible to point the microphone in the direction of the 2megapixel camera but some angles may enter the frame (this is an acceptable and unavoidable compromise in my view) Cons*Stay Tuned... So far so good.

I cannot use any buttons on the display panel. The power is on and the display is lit up

I cannot use any buttons on the display. The power is ON and the display is lit up. I have pulled the plug and waited a while and plugged it back in (several times over two days) but nothing changes.
The diagnostics from the computer don't help. I can see the ink level and I can print a test page but the scanner does not work.
This Printer just works when it wants to. The wireless connection only worked once in a while.

Bridge for mac says No Memory on xperia z1 compact!!!

Hi, I am experiencing a problem. I hope someone here can help. When I connect my device to my MacBook Pro the contents display ok, but it indicates that the device memory is 100% FULL. I have an Xperia Z1 compact.I have 3.14GB used of 11.79GB internal storage, 1.21GB used of 1.69GB RAM and 5.6GB used of 7.2GB SD card storage. I had to send the handset for repair, and when it came back (having been wiped clean by o2 service centre) I restored from the Bridge for Mac backup I had taken before it was sent away. The restore went ok, but didnt restore all of the apps I had had on my phone. (Not sure if it should have or not.) I am now trying to restore again having reinstalled some of the apps manually. Bridge for Mac indicates that the memory on my handset is full. It is not. It will not allow me to do anything in terms of restoring as it thinks there is no available memory! I am using BfM 4.1(4104)Android 5.0.2 Why is this not working? Thanks

xperia z1 compact brightness change itslef even when i have turned off the auto brightness. for example, the brightness becomes dimmer when the overall display colour is dark or black colour and it becomes brighter when the ovrall display colour is white or bright colour. i mean im able to notice there is a slight change in display brightness when im viewing photo, watching videos or surfing inernet. the brightness just change itself even when i turn off the auto brightness.

Xperia Z1 Compact touchscreen completely unresponsive!

If anyone could assist here,would be really appreciated. My Xperia Z1 Compact touchscreen has become completely unresponsive for no rhyme or reason! It had some sound output issues when upgraded to Lollipop which were resolved but today, I noticed that the SIM card slot cover was not closed properly so I opened and closed it. Next thing I know the screen is totally unresponsive to touch or swipe. Displays fine. Tried rebooting using power/volume +, removing SIM card, removing memory card, and then updating/repairing via Sony PC Companion (via USB). Touchscreen is still completely unresponsive on booting up. Please help if anyone has a potential solution. I bought the phone just 6 months ago and was working perfect until Lollipop came along!! Thanks much.

Rather than taking the phone to a Sony Centre, contact your local Sony Xperia Customer Care team to find out where their authorized repair agents are based and I am sure they will be able to organise for your phone to be sent in to be assessed under the terms of warranty. Am sorry to hear of the long wait you experienced last time.

Which brand of glass is on Xperia Z3 Compact?

As the titles says, I'd like to know which brand of glass is seated on the Xperia Z3 compact, for front as well as rear? Or is it just generic tempered glass?

For virtually no extra cost, Sony could include some kind of case with the phone but don't bother. Very poor.
