  • Xperia Z2_Screen problem while making a phone call

    Hi,
I have bought a  Xperia Z2 two days ago. I think, I have a serious problem. When I want to make a phone call, I am writing the numbers and then press the call button, my screen gets completely dark when the phone is still in my hands (not close to my ears). I can still talk with my phone, but I cannot see the screen, therefore it is very difficult to end the call. If I am pressing the power button one-two or more than one-two times, the screen comes back and then I can end the call. I have a screen protector on my screen, which comes within the package of Z2. I tried if the same problem continues without screen protector or not. The answer is yes, it continues. I boot the phone  in the safe mode, but the problem is still there.
    I am waiting your help...

I see you did your homework about the screen protector and safe mode.Do you have any case?

  • Extreme lag, phone call buffering?

I switched to the G3 when it came out (left iPhone).  It's always had some kind of lag but its steadily getting worse. Trying to text the keyboard refuses to come up and it will randomly just shut the screen off, I do my knock code and it takes a while for it to register if it does at all.  When I try to make a phone call the keypad comes up eventually if it even registers my unlock code. When it does I type in the number and it literally has a buffer symbol which takes a while to even start the call while this is going on the phone is completely unresponsive.
Anyone else experiencing these issues?  I wanted to enjoy Android from what I've heard but I'm seriously debating going back to iPhone if this keeps happening.

Bakado Depending on how long you've had your device you may need to just clean up some junk files or open applications which can cause slowness problems.  I've had my phone for a couple of months now and haven't had any of these issues although I am in IT and regularly clean/maintain my phone.  I suggest downloading the Clean Master in the Play Store, this is a free app.  This app will give you the ability to clean up junk files, free up extra RAM and also provide virus scan capabilities.   Try that out, if it continues you may want to bring your phone into Verizon.

  • Screen goes black when making phone calls

Hi, I have started to use a new Xperia Z2 a short while ago. As soon as I am tapping the screen to call a phone number the screen goes black; I can hear the phone calling but can't see anything (not being able to turn on loudspeaker etc.). The sound works, and screen can be brought back to life when the call is finished. Same thing when I call with my Skype app - really annoying as the video mode in Skype doesn't function. When the call is finished from the other side, I can get the screen to light up again. What can I do to solve ths problem?

    Hi.
I've got very simillar problem with Xperia Z2 screen.
Not always, but very often when I want to end the conversation and take the phone away from my head, screen remains black.
Only power button can help, when I click it, screen pops up and then I can click "END CONVERSATION"
It's really annoying. What can I do, to make it work ?
    Answers for your further questions.
    - I don't have any protection on the screen

  • Phone app lag.

I like my Pre overall, but I missed a phone call this morning, because between the time when I pressed the "Accept Call" button, and the time when my Pre switched from the app I was using to the Phone app, and attempted to pick up the call, it had already gone to voice mail.
I pressed accept within 1 second of the call arriving.
It's very common too that when I accept calls, the ringer and vibrate stay active for 1-2 seconds after the call connects. Often I end up looking at the phone in disgust while it finishes whatever routines it's running to figure out how to connect my call and stop the ringer process, and my caller is rather confused, saying "what was that noise?"
Then I have to explain "well I have this phone, and..."
Not exactly a great way to convince people it's a phone they might want to get for themselves.
Also, when I couldn't answer a phone at all...not cool. Not at all cool. That was a client calling. I wasn't missing the button or anything. I could see the splashes on the screen where I touched the button dead center. It was just lagging due to the app I was using hogging memory. The phone app should not be subservient to other apps using memory. When a call comes through, the "Accept Call" button should interrupt whatever the handset is doing and put my call through NOW. Period.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I had this issue when I first got my Pre. I resolved it by doing a restart of the device. This allows the OS and any programs release any RAM that it is holding on to. I do a restart about every two weeks and the issue stopped. Now I don't run many third party programs on the device and that might be the cause of this issue in your case. Have you done a restart recently on the device?

  • Music plays after hanging up phone call

    Hi,
I love my Xperia Z2 but for some reason if I have music paused, then I take a phone call, when I hang up the call, the music starts playing. I understand it should do this if the music is playing when the call comes in, but not if the music is paused, right?
    Please help!

    Hi,
Do this happen even if you don't hang up yourself? (If you wait for the other part to hang up)
I would suggest that you try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:

  • Can't use speaker during phone call

    Hi,
I'm facing a problem with my Z1 Compact running FW build 14.3.A.0.757 with bluetooth on and my Sony SBH 52 headset (but problem should be the same with any bluetooth headset.
Problem is occuring during a phone call, any time I'm trying to activate the phone speaker instead of the bluetooth device, sound is coming to the speaker but after few seconds, switch back to bluetooth. Re-eanbling the speaker, it works for few seconds and switch back again to bluetooth!
Is it a known bug ? Will it be fixed soon ?
    Thanks

  • Can I see a list of today's phone calls?

Can I see online a list of phone calls made from my phone today?  I see that on "myverizon" I can get a list of phone calls made through the last bill.  How do I get a list that includes today's phone calls?

Log in to your on-line MyVerizon account and look under My Usage, then click the blue Usage Details.  Sometimes the log lags, though, sometimes by hours, every now and then (particularly at the start of your billing cycle) by a day or two.

  • Cracked screen on new Z3 before first phone call made.

Picked up a new Z3 from Telstra 36hrs ago. 16 hrs ago my screen cracked and the phone is unusable, I haven't even made a phone call on it yet.
Last night I set the phone up, this morning I checked my mail then placed the phone in my loose shorts pocket (by itself) and walked up six flights of stairs. At the top I pulled my phone out and it wouldn't unlock. It too me about 10 minutes to work out why as it still had the delivery plastic sheets front and back on the phone. The screen was cracked from the right hand corner of the lower speaker across the face making the touch screen unusable.
This phone has never been dropped or mistreated or even used for a phone call. I have had several smartphones in the past and never had a broken screen.
Telstra will not exchange it, I believe this phone has a latent defect and there was a stress raiser in the speaker cutout that cracked the first time it was placed in my pocket.
I am furious, how do I make contact with Sony customer complaints, as per above I believe this particular handset had a manufacturing fault that created a stress raiser in the glass.

  • Can't make phone calls

    Hello,
So yesterday I just solved my own issue of not getting any LTE signals http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z2/Z2-LTE-Not-Working/td-p/784021/jump-to/first-unread-message
Today, I followed the advice of a user to restart the phone using PWR + VOL UP buttons to get the smoothness back. I did just that, phone became smooth again with the phone registering on LTE network.
But what happens now? I can't connect to Mobile Data AND can't make phone calls. I can run USSD code to check my balance and can receive calls just fine but cannot make phone calls.
Any ideas? Do I need to reinstall the FW again?Model: D6503 FW: .314

My network carrier first confirmed that everything was fine at their end and that it was the handset issue (I never believe them anyway).
But afterwards it was confirmed that it was indeed an issue with the network operator and that they had fixed the issue...

  • Can't text while on a phone call

Ok, this phone is awesome, but the first one i bought had this issue, when on a phone call i wasn't able to use the phone at all, i would go into settings and the touches wouldnt register, i would go into my messaging app and i couldn't even select the thread to send the message.   i returned the first one and got another, worked perfectly, UNTIL THIS NEW UPDATE.  now it has started again.   this is COMPLETE BS.  i can only talk while on the phone, and cant browse the web or use any other app at the same time.

Even worse than that, the phone app itself assumes you can remember the number of a person, and does not allow you to type the name of a person instead of their number!Despite the fact that sony only offers a number pad and no access to keyboard for entering a contacts name (like you have in iPhone, which immediately finds the contact and puts the number in for you), Sony puts the following message on the phone keypad; "ENTER NAME OR NUMBER"How on earth should i enter a Name??? There is no way to type any name with!!I tried holding a number key down to see if any alphabetic letters would appear , and not possibleSo why the message saying "enter name or number"????You cannot enter a a name. You have to use the contacts app to find the person and then call them, which for me is totally crazy. The phone should have a contact search in it and should allow you to search contacts with a keyboard like the iphone does, which has the contacts tab within the phone.. not just "recent" ones.. the whole list.  Sony is light years behind Apple with this. No contacts tab within the phone app (and search module), means you have to launch a separate app to call with. Having to launch contacts instead of the phone app to initiate a call, is RIDICULOUS Apart from this, to be honest, the Xperia Z is slow as heck with any operations, the double tap to wake takes about 6 attempts before it reacts (if at all). Testing its brain power against my iPhone using lets say Photoshop PSExpress, shows instant reaction in my iPhone but the Xperia takes three taps on any tool tab, and a 4 second delay before it reacts. This is the same with any app, and most apps crash half the time too. I was never an Android fan i admit, but my experiences with 'Xperia' (bad Xperience), has confirmed that however much RAM this phone may have, it is just a tortoise, and iPhone is the rabbit

  • Can it be used for phone calls?

i'm thinking of buying a smartwatch 3, but i'd like to know, will i be able to make & receive phone calls on the watch
    Topic edited by Rickard

You will be able to click "Answer" / "Reject" or enter phone number using address book or dialer but you will not be able to talk through SW3 because it doesn't have a speaker.
You can answer and make calls using SmartBand Talk which is able to work as a hands-free* solution.
    * hands-free but on your hand ;-)

    Hi Pauler66,
    Welcome to the community,
I suggest a Safemode boot, and then performing a diagnostics test on the in ear speaker, as it seems your issue is related to this and not the 3.5mm jack.
To get to diagnostics do the following.
Menu > Settings > About Phone > Diagnostics > Phone Tests > In ear Speaker.
Let us know how you get on.
