Xperia Z2 not working on my laptop (Windows 7)

To Whom it may concern.
I brought my brand new Xperia Z2 about a week ago, and I wanted to update the software, so I plug it into my computer (Windows 7) and it says: Installing Device Drivers. Then it says: Installation failed. I have scoured your forums looking for an answer, I have called my service provider, I have called sony's call centre and nobody can help. I have tried updating the drivers manually by downloading them off your website, I have tried using the automatic Internet search. Under my Device Manager it is listed as "Portable Device" and when I click update drivers (manually or automatic) it says access denied, I have allowed the device to install the software on the device as well. I plugged it into my sisters windows 7 laptop and it worked like a dream, plug and play!
Any help would be much appreciated!

Sounds like a driver signing issue on your Pc, have you tried the manual method but directing it to search the Sony folder found in Program files?

The issue seems similar to that in the first box though it would be nice to have the complete error message. Tearing out all iTunes components and reinstalling as given in the second box should resolve.

What did the F5 key do before? According to your manual in the Action Keys list (page 32-33), that key wasn't tied to anything unless its just for page refresh.
If a Windows update breaks something, the best way I know to correct the problem is to uninstall that update.
OR
You can revert Windows back to an earlier state before the update with a Restore Point provided you didn't turn off that feature. If for some reason it is turned off, you will not be able to revert to that point as one was not created.
After the restore, only install one windows update at a time until you find the culprit and uninstall it. This way you have the other updates installed. YES this can be a long process.

Muse not work on my laptop.

I've downloaded my Muse apps on my laptop but the shortcut didn't created and it seems not working for my laptop.
I found out the Muse requires that the minimum process is 2.33GHz but my windows 7 32 bit laptop is 2.20GHz.
Is this the reason why Muse doesn't work on my laptop?

Nothing to do with your processor speed. Probably something else, but without exact system information nobody can say anything.

Uploading files to website not working with Safari in Windows 7

Hi,
I am a website owner, and I have a feature on my site where users can upload large (up to 50MB) music files to my server. The feature works in Firefox on OSX & Windows platforms and it also works in Safari on OSX. The uploading feature is not working with Safari for Windows. Do you have any idea why and how to fix this? It can't be an issue with my server as it works in other browsers fine and works fine in Safari for OS X.
If you have any information on how to solve this or things for me to try to rectify this for use with Windows operating system it would be much appreciated.

I have solved this issue myself with some help from my a user on Microsoft Forums. The issue stems from the mime type of each Browser Chrome, IE, & Safari for Windows defaults as audio/wav. When the mime type is changed to audio/x-wav everything works. Firefox defaults to audio/x-wav and when changed to audio/wav it DOES NOT work.
Once I input some code in my .php upload page to change the mimetype if audio/wav is detected everything works GREAT!!!
So Here is what you need to do: Find your upload page and input this code:
echo "MIME Type: ".$_FILES["file"]["type"]."";
right before your "If/then" statement of file type. For me it was near line 30 in my upload.php page, but I'm sure this is different for everyone.
This will detect and DISPLAY the default mime type of your browser on the error page when your upload doesn't work. Once you know what mime type works for your file type then you can change your "if/then" statement for mime type upload to change your mime type to the correct one.
I don't want to give the code here, because I'm sure it's specific to your file types and your site construction, but this should lead you on the right track.
***This is the solution if you ARE NOT ABLE to upload any certain file in a certain Browser. It has to do with mime type construction***

ValentinT, welcome to the forum.
There are no drivers available for Windows 8. I suggest checking in the Control Panel/Sound/Recording to assure that your microphone is selected. It seems that the Sound is one area that gets changed when updating to Win 8.1. At least, this is what happened to me.

Hi Sameer,
There's no version of Windows Vista that is supported, regardless of service packs. You can always upgrade to Windows 7, though.
Your other option is to use Brackets, the open source editor that Edge Code is based on. It still supports Vista for now. The downside is that Brackets lacks some features of Edge Code: Kuler integration, Edge Inspect integration, and Edge Web Fonts code hints -- although all of those except Kuler are offered as optional Brackets extensions too (you just have to install them).

The FN keys are controlled by Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. I think you have forgotten to install these tools
You should check the Toshiba page again and download both tools. Start with installation of Value Added Package then restart your notebook. After this install Flash Cards Support Utility. Once again restart and all FN keys should work properly now.

It sounds like you are unable to unlock your phone because you cannot use the screen, and you need to back up your phone. I recommend these steps from the article named:

Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.
When the backup and sync is complete, restore your device.

Digial Filing, Scan to Network Folder not working on new Asus Windows 8.1 laptop

I've having difficulty setting up Digital Filing, Scan to Network Folder on my new Asus Windows 8.1 laptop. I'm using a HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g Series.
It seems to setup correctly with no errors. However, all scans end up with a zero file size PDF. Trying to open them gives the error: “Adobe reader could not open 'scan.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
I've previously had no problem setting up network folders to scan to on three other computers, all of which were running Windows 7, not 8.1. Digital Filling continues to work correctly on each of these older computers, but try as I might, I'm unable to get this feature to work with my new Windows 8.1 laptop. I've tried with both the “Solution Center” software and the embedded web access.
I've compared all the setting I could think of to the previous Network Folders that work and cannot find any differences.
The workaround, scanning from my laptop using the Solution Center software (rather from the printer console using digital filing, scan to network folder) works perfectly. As far as I can tell, all other features are working.

The STUDIO is an older laptop running Windows 7. Scanning to network folders works perfectly as long as the folder chosen is in the \Users\Public folder.
I do not know nor have not needed the Windows password on this laptop. It's been years since I set up this laptop; I don't know if it even has a password.
The ASUS is a new laptop running Windows 8.1. So far, I have been unable to scan to a network folder; all the resulting PDFs are zero bytes.
The network folders are all in Network Path: \\ASUS\Users\Public; if I try to create them outside this folder, I'm unable to even finish setting up the network scan.
I DO know the Windows username and password for this new laptop.

I've compared the properties on the folders involved on the two laptops by right-clicking them. So far as I can tell, everything is set exactly the same on both computers.
