Xperia Z2 video recording limit?

Hi guys,,
I have a question about video recording on the Z2... Is there a chart, which shows how long the phone will record video for, with a full battery or on mains power ?
Can anyone help please ? Thanks so much,,
Ian

He might be talking about Z2,the autosuggestion might have given him SP. The Z2 should be able to record at least until you reach a 4GB file because of the FAT32 format.

  • Problem with video recording: Limit set to 15 seconds?

    Hello all,
This is my first apple product, I have never used an Iphone before. I bought an unlocked iphone 4 and Everything else on the phone seems to work fine but for some reason I can't shoot more then 15 seconds of video. At exactly 15 seconds, the message "Video Recording Stopped. The maximum length for this video has been reached."
I have 8 gigs of space left on this phone, so I am not sure what limit it is referring to.
Someone please help me out as this was the MAIN feature I wanted the phone for, high qaulity video! 15 seconds of recording time doesn't seem normal to me.
    Thanks everyone!

Any ideas? I've tried checking to make sure MMS was off incase it was something to do with that but.. what would cause only 15 seconds of video exactly before being told the limit is reached?

  • IMovie video recording limit 40 minutes

I have an iPad 4 and am using the current version of iMovie.  I am attempting to record for an hour at a time.  It stops at 39:59:9 minutes and says the recording has reached the limit.  Can the limit be changed?  I could not see how in settings.  I don't think it's a storage issue, as I have 20 G available.  Any solutions?
In settings, iMovie is version 2.0.  IOS is 7.0.3

You are wise to suspect that your problem is related to your decreasing disk free space.
In addition to using your startup disk to store files, OS X needs significant disk space for system tasks that it is doing for your without your input.  I think you will do well to keep a MINIMUM of 10GB of your startup disk free for use by OS X 10.6.x.  20GB will be better.  You will notice increased operating speed and less interruptions like the ones you are now experiencing.  (BTW- when you eventually upgrade to a newer OS X version, understand that its new features will benefit from even more free space.)
If you need some ideas about how to increase the free space you use, check out OS X: Increase disk space. Even though it was written for Mountain Lion, some of the suggestions such as moving some files to other disks or simply deleting ones that are no longer needed are equally applicable to your Snow Leopard system.

  • Problem running videos recorded by Xperia Z2

The videos recorded by the cell phone doesn't run properly when transfered to the PC. I get black image and no sound, but the progression bar of the player shows that the video is running. It's not an issue in the codecs in my computer since I run any video file in it with no problems, including MP4 which is the same video file used by the phone. Not to mention that, looking around the net, I found many other owners of that same model experiencing the same problem as me.
Any help will be appreciated, thank you.
PS: I already instaled all the updates available for it.

If you are just using an "import" option via the PC then this would generally be the likes of Windows Mediaplayer doing the importing. You are best to either drag/drop or to use the MediaGo software to perform this function so you are getting the raw file.

  • 4k video recording and microSD card speed

Hello, I am currently trying to find what microSD card type Xperia Z2 needs to shoot 4k videos smoothly. Is UHS Speed Class 1 (U1) card with about 30 MB/s writing speed enough to shoot 4k videos with no problems at all? I am just asking if Sandisk Ultra series are enough and should I bother with Sandisk Extreme for example with 45 MB/s writing speed or with Xperia Z2 4k video recording I won't see any difference?

sandisk shows better compatibility with xperias
also beside of writing speed you must format your sd card with "exFAT" format, caues of 4GB writing limit

  • Dual video record limited

I bought S5 for unlimited dual video recording.   Now will return because a 10 min limit is imposed.  Who knows where and under what temperature I am operating.  This is foolish.  On my motorcycle handlebars it will be cooled just fine at 70 MPhil and less.

    Hey mauricefrommississauga,
So when you tap the Record Video (stop) icon, or press a volume button again, the video recording does not stop.
Take photos and videos - iPhone
Shoot some video. Choose Video, then tap the Record Video button to start and stop recording. Video records at 30 fps (frames per second). With iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, you can switch it to 60 fps in Settings > Photos & Camera.
Although that symptom is not specifically mentioned in the camera troubleshooting article, please try these steps from the top.
Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    3. Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
    4. If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping   (camera swap icon).
Please let us know what works.

  • App with continuous autofocus during video recording?

Is there an iPhone app which allow continuous autofocus during video recording? (W/o tapping)
    Thanks!

Is there any way to disable continuous auto focus? or at least any setting which can help getting a better video. In My xperia z1 compact , when i take a video, it will always hunt for the focus, result is Jurky video.
after lollipop upgrade also, things doesn't changed much.
so can anybody tell, any setting that can avoid this?
    Thanks

  • Disable Continuous Autofocus during Video Recording

Hi, is there a way to disable the continuous autofocus during video recording? The continous autofocus is very annoying during video recording as the video consistently appear out of focus when during refocusing. There are alot of situations where continuous focusing is not required.
Can we have a new video focusing mode where the camera will only refocus to an area that is tapped on the screen? This is a very basic feature that is available in almost all other smartphones. Without this focusing mode, the video recording of the Z1 is 99% unusable although the phone has a very good sensor. As the Z1 is Sony's flagship smartphone, I hope that you can add this simple feature as a software update asap. Thanks.

There's a huge difference with the phone altogether when the Antivirus is switched off. I had it on when I first got mine, but it didn't last long lol.
Now I've had my firmware updated, I've not got the free one as standard... not sure whether I'm going to get it again yet.

  • Improved 4K Video Recording and Stereo Speaker Ringing

    Hai Sony Support,
Hi i have bought Sony Xperia Z2 from India 2 days before and im really happy about the phone. I have few suggestions that i like to share.  Loaded Android 4.4.2 _Version 17.1.1.A.0.402

More better algorithm to make the images more sharper. now the image looks more processed. also in front camera
Touch focusing during 4K and all Video Recording options. The autofocus feature tends to focus all the time if something moves in the frame.
Option to record 4K @ 24 FPS Format. That will help people like us to use the phone in film productions that also helps in promotions of the phone.
Make little changes in the algorithm to make the videos lot sharper, sometimes 4K and other video formats looks over processed.
Really happy with the Xperia Z2 and the feautures that having

if over processed stuff if fixed the still images and video will look stunting

  • Maximum video record length to SD?

Hey, quick question - If i buy a 64gb SD card and set my video camera to use that memory will the camera keep recording until it is full? Or does it shut off after a specified time?
    Thanks?

The default file system of Xperia Z1 for SD cards larger than 32GB is exFAT.
For 32GB and lower than that, default file system is FAT32 (see https://www.sdcard.org/developers/overview/capacity/index.html)
My 64GB sd card is formatted by phone as exFAT and has no 4GB limitation for files like FAT32.
Video recording will continue uninterrupted even though the size of the file exceeds 4GB.
The longest video I personally shot lasted over an hour. File size was nearly 9GB.
The FAT32 length of the video recording can be a maximum as about half an hour (close to 4GB).
After that, the recording stops automatically.

  • Diskspace quota with WVC54GCA video recording software

I'm using several WVC54GCA cameras with good results with one exception - I cannot get the diskspace quota feature in the video recording software to work correctly.  I want to limit each camera to 25GB of video on disk, and overwrite older data when the quota is reached.  My problem is that no matter what I specify for a quota, the system only will record 5GB before it starts to overwrite the older video.  If I don't specify the quota feature, the system will record and save data until the disk is filled.  If I enable a quota (25000 MB for example) and there is more than 5GB of video data saved, the excess over 5GB will be deleted.
Has anyone seen this kind of problem?  Is the diskspace quota feature actually working for anyone?
Thanks in advance for helpful replies.

Have you tried un-installing and re-installing the Camera utility ?
Do you have the latest firmware installed on your Camera ?
Recordings can be scheduled and you can set disk quotas and many other parameters -
Disk Allocation for Each Camera Recording :
Total Disk Space is the total amount of storage space on your PC’s hard drive.
Available Disk Space is the total amount of remaining storage space on your PC’s hard drive.
Enable Diskspace Limitation if you want to limit the amount of disk space used by each Camera, check the box, then fill in the fields below.
Maximum allowed space per camera, Enter the maximum allowed space per camera in MB. The default is 1000 MB...I would suggest you to try 15GB and see how it goes with 15GB of Video on disk...See if it is still recording only 5GB of Video...
When allowed space is full Select the action to take when the space limit is reached, either Overwrite earliest file (default), or Stop recording...

  • Hardware FAQ's - 2. Is there any size limitation for video recording?

    2. Is there any size limitation for video recording?[/b]
Yes. The maximum file size of continuous recording is 4GB (i.e. the device will stop recording after hour for HD+, 2 hours for HD, and 4 hours for VGA). This limitation is due to the file system of the built-in memory (i.e. FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4GB).Will and can this be fix with a firmware upgrade? I would like it to last atleast 2hrs for HD+? Which is it's limit with memory and or battery?

I've been told that the method size problem occurs
especially with JSPs. Again, splitting is the
solution. Is that if the code is actually "in" the jsp? What I mean is, do you still get the problem if you use <jsp:useBean ... ? (so the code is seperated from the view, like it should be)
