Xperia z3 foto widget show broken image icons instead of image thumbnail/preview

Initially I used my Z3 without SD card. Everything word fine: album AND the foto widget which allows to browse through taken pictures.After- installing an SD card,- changing the location for newly taken pictures to SD card- AND moving some pictures to other directories -- AND creating a number of .nomedia files on these directories to make these pictures not appear in the album nor in the foto widget, the foto widget shows a broken image icon for ALL pictures taken until this change. All new pictures display fine in the widget and the album app. I delete the album cache and data file (in settings -- all apps -- album). This didn't change anything (so far). How can I force the album app/widget to recreate it's database and preview/thumbnails?? Thanks a lot.M~

@z3_owner Settings > apps > album > clear data > uninstall updates > restart the phone > wait few minutes > remove the nonmedia files too. Followed your instructions without success so far.a) how long could it take to recreate database and thumbnails? The main picture directory (DCIM on the SD card) contains almost 1000 pictures).b) Where should the .thumbnails directory reside? Should it -- after switiching to the SD -- be in /storage/sdcard1/DCIM or still in  /storage/sdcard0/DCIM as it was before the installation of the SD card?c) How can I either force the media scanner to run and update the foto widget pictures and album database or see/verify that it does run. Thanks again. Michael

  • What version of itunes would show a ipod icon instead of a music icon on my ipad

I sold this ipad to a friend and now it shows she only has IOS 4.2 and therefore can not load apps.  It also shows an ipod icon instead of a music icon.   It the reason she is having problems the version of itunes downloaded.  And is it possible her old dell computer can't load a newer version of iTunes?

The Version of Itunes is not the problem. Its the version of IOS.  4.2 is quite old.
She'll need to connect the iPad to her PC running the iTunes desktop Application. doesn't matter if its slightly older, to update to a newer version of IOS on the iPad.
Also assuming her Dell isn't really really old.. I'm sure she can run the newest version if the iTunes Desktop Application just fine.  As the Requirements aren't really all that high.

  • Using the file icon instead of the Thumbnail icon

is it possible to use the file icon instead of the thumbnail icon on the desktop? If so, how?

  • Tiff's suddenly showing generic icon instead of image preview

All of a sudden I have begun having an intermittent problem with Bridge (CS3) not displaying a preview thumbnail for a very few number (not all) TIFF files- instead I just get a thumbnail showing a TIFF logo rather than the picture itself. I would normally think it was just something about those particular files but it's happened with some files from two other sources all within a few days of one another- on several occasions it has happened to a TIFF that previously had a preview and then once I did additional work and had to save over it, it lost the preview and had the generic icon.
Is anyone familiar with this issue and how to fix it? I already tried purging the cache for the folder, then I tried restarting Bridge while holding down the option key and reset the Cache database. I did not reset the Preferences yet, I have a lot of things set up just so and would like to avoid it if it isn't necessary. The only change I have made is I installed the newest version of Camera Raw, though I am not implying it had anything to do with this.

Purge the cache for the offending folder(s) through the Tools menu in Bridge, NOT through the broken global command in Bridge prefs.

  • Dashboard widgets showing missing plugin icons

A couple of my Dashboard widgets - notably Flight Tracker and Unit Converter - appear with the missing plugin icons and do not work. How do I fix this?

Don, this can happen if you accidently overwrote these widgets (which should have been pre-installed with your machine) with PowerPC versions from an older Mac. Did you use migration assistant to transfer your files over to your new machine (and if so, could you have accidently copied over these widgets)?
Unfortunately, the only solution is to 1) reinstall OS X or 2) use Pacifist to extract the widgets from your OS X install disks.

  • Icon instead of image preview in PDF portfolio

We are creating a lot of PDF portfolio using Acrobat X Pro. Part of files included in these portfolios are simple JPEG images. On one of our machines - the one with Acrobat X Pro installed - we have a problem that inside portfolios these JPEG files are displayed as icons currently associated in Windows with JPEG images. On all other machines these portfolios are displayed correctly, as image previews, but on this one we have these images displayed as icons.
We tried some standard and some non standard things: Acrobat X Pro reinstall, antivirus software uninstall, JPEG icon association reset, etc.
    What can block these images?
    I
We are using (on all machines) Windows XP SP3 PL, Comodo Internet Security Premium, latest Adobe Acrobat with all updates.

    Hi,
On my machine the previews are displayed correctly for JPEG files in Portfolios.
You can repair your Acrobat installation from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and see if things work correctly.

  • Jpeg Icons Instead of Images in Cover Flow

First time poster, not sure if this is the right place. Anyway...
For the past few days, when I'm opening folders of images, in Cover Flow mode, instead of seeing the images, all I see is the jpeg icon.
Q1: Did I do something to cause the change?
Q2: How do I restore it?
Thank you, in advance, for any advice!
    Don

    Welcome to Apple forums, Don.
Q1 No, I doubt yopu did anything.
Q2 Go to Users/yourname/Library/Preferences and trash these two files:
    com.apple.finder.plist
    com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
    Then, restart.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)
Let us know if that helps.

  • Icons Instead of Images in Bridge

I use PS CS-3 on an XP Home OS. When I save a .tif image with no layers, the image appears, as expected, as a thumbnail in Bridge. When I save a .tif image with one or more layers, it appears as a .tif icon only, so that I cannot tell what image it is. Is there a way around this, other than e.g., saving the layered .tif image also as an unlayered .tif or .jpg image?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Addendum:
I have increased the maximum file size to be processed (Edit>Preferences>Thumbnails), so that it exceeds the largest layered file that I have, but still no luck.
I do not understand the additional instruction that "previously cached files must be purged...for this setting to affect their display." Since I have never fiddled with the cache, I hesitate to purge anything until I know what the downside of such operation might entail.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • Icon instead of images

No matter what I do I can not see images in catalyst. I only see icons of the stuff that should be images. The beta 1 was fine so I am confused. I just want to import everything I see in photoshop and finish working. Do I need to reinstall or I am simply doing something wrong?

Sorry to hear you are running into this problem with beta II. I haven't heard about this problem from other users, so there may be something unique about your system or files that is triggering the problem. I don't think you are doing anything wrong. This sounds like a bug and we need to figure out what is causing it.
    A few questions:
    1) do you get this problem with importing PSD files as well as other file types like jpeg, png, or AI files?
    2) It also sounds like the problem occurs with all PSD files that you try? If it is a particular PSD file, please post it so we can investigate further.
    A few things to try:
    1) click the circular arrows icon (in the upper right of the artboard) to refresh the screen
    2) save the file after import. Close it and re-open. Do you see the same problem?

  • [not DW] referring to Image.jpg instead of image.jpg

I just noticed something odd. It is not a strict Dreamweaver
    question, but
    perhaps you'll kindly explain anyway:
When an image called Image.jpg (capital I) is wrongly
    referred to as image.jpg
(lower case i ), the image shows up when previewed locally.
    Once page and
image are uploaded though, both FF and IE show the infamous
    red X .
Why is this? The local previews use the same browsers, don't
    they? (I am not
    taling about DW's Desihn View).
    Just curious.
    Regards,
    Adriana.

  • Why do I get "Broken image" icons?

We are working on website development and have an HTML5 routine for uploading images.
After the image to be loaded is selected from the desktop it is uploaded to the cloud, the image is shown in the background properly but a broken image icon is shown in a popup that allows the user to crop the image.
However, the popup  is showing a "broken image" icon.
If I "Save"  the image that was showing properly before, it shows a broken image icon.
The image then carries the broken image as the thumbnail.
The odd thing is that this will continue until the image is deleted
    OR
If you open another browser (Chrome, Firefox) and go the our system, everything appears fine with no issues finding hte image.
If you then return to Safari, the broken image problem has been "fixed" and everying appears fine.
This problem occurs everywhere an image is uploaded whether using flash or html5.
The problem is "Mostly" consistant and is independent of the mac being used.  The common pieces are Mavericks and Safari 7.  We haven't had any issues with other Mac OS versions or older Safari versions.
The latest version of Safari did not resolve the issue 7.0.3(9537.75.14).

The McAfee SiteAdvisor extension has been reported to cause issues with text Chinese (CJK) characters appearing on tabs, so you can disable this extension until McAfee releases an update to address this issue.

  • Preview Image icon in Finder

    Hi everyone!
I couldnt exactly find a help topic for this...
I just want to know why the image icon in the finder windows doesnt change when you alter the image in preview? Say I cropped an image in preview or rotated it, the preview icon of the image in finder is the original but when you click to open it, its the altered image.
Should I have clicked on something in the preferences? Or is it really like that.
Because in my desktop, the image does change when it got restarted but not in the finder window.
    Any reply would be appreciated....thanks!

I have the same problem. I edit my pictures with HP Photosmart Studio. I might crop it, rotate or change it to black and white but the icon will stay the same. When I open it in Preview it is fine. I also have Windows XP installed through parallels, the strange thing is when I go to XP windows explorer it shows the correct Icon and correct image for the picture.
It really buggin me please help.
Also when I try to upload a picture I can not switch it to thumbnail like in Windows to see the picture I am attaching. Any ideas???

  • Help needed in Drag and Drop and  resizing of image icons

    Hi all,
I'm doing a project on Drag and Drop and resizing of image icons.

The problem now i'm facing is when i drag, drop and resize an image icon and when i try to drag, drop a second image icon the first image icon gets erased.
can any one help me in fixing this error.

  • PS icons show instead of photo thumbnails on Picture Viewer

I've loaded CS3 on a new laptop---Windows 7.  CS3 Bridge and Photoshop work great, however the thumbnails show the PS icon instead of the photo in picture viewer.  I'm sure I'm missing a file or have one in the wrong location.  Any idea how to repair the problem?
    Thank you!  Randy Black

Thanks for your speedy reply, Curt!  Just the RAW icons are showing up---the JPEG's are OK.  I do have ACR 4.6 loaded in the following location:
Program files (X86)/common files/adobe/plug-ins/CS3/file formats.  The file is Camera Raw, Type 8BI.  I also checked in the "other" Adobe file to make sure I didn't have a duplicate of the RAW file there-looks OK.  Bridge works great-just showing the PS icon in the "Picture Viewer."
I've evidently accidently deleted a file today as I have been able to view RAW thumbnails until today.
Thanks again!  Have a great week!

  • SAP ME 6.0 POD Image Icons location works different than ME 5.2

In SAP ME 5.2 in POD Maintenance and Button configuration I had the Image Icon configured  like:
    /Images/PODButtons/blue_02.gif
This location was covered by a Netweaver Alias to point to the location where the images are located on the server.
In ME  Base 6.0.1.0 Counter 40 the images do not appear in the POD anymore.
It only works if I specify like
    http://10.79.3.36:50200/Images/PODButtons/blue_02.gif
It looks like ME 6.0 and 5.2 behave differently and I would need to change all the PODu2019s. The issues is as well transportability of the solution.
Any ideas how the POD Image location can be specified without the server name and port in ME 6.0?
    Thanks Tony

    Hello Tony,
It is a known issue for SAP and is goind to be fixed in some of ME 6.0 patches. Please check out Release Notes to verify the exact patch with the fix.
    Regards,
    Alex.
