Xperia Z3 - Screen/Water damage

Hello,
I Have Sony Xperia Z3 which i tried it into a water for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds in water i found out that the touch isn't working but the screen still works, so i dried the phone and left it on table. (THE INDICATORS WERE WHITE) Later i tried to restart it and the screen went black. I had the phone in rice for almost a week and i tried to connect it with my PC and i reinstalled the system using PC Companion, but i still couldn't fix the screen. Somehow the touch became responsive but the screen was still black, so i was able to call, answer to calls etc using my pc (i was making screenshots and i was openning them from pc so i could knew in what menu am i on the phone).
After 1 week from the incident i brought the phone in a authorized sony service where they told me that the motherboard and screen should be replaced. I didn't accept that and i brought the phone to another private service.
So my question is: Is it possible to be motherboard problem if i can call/answer calls and do all things a phone can do except to see the screen (completely black with responsive touch) ?

I'm sorry to hear that, but you have to contact your local Xperia Care and request a vacuum test http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

  • Bent Xperia Z3 Caused Water Damage?

Hey, guys. I'm posting on behalf of my brother, who has recently (about 6 months ago) upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy to an Xperia Z3. A couple of months after he had the phone, he noticed that the phone started bending, similar to the iPhone 6 Plus (dubbed the 'Bendgate', I think). Taking a comical approach to this, it wasn't causing him any immediate inconvenience, so he took to making various jokes about it and using it as a talking point, rather than being annoyed at it (which I envy him for, as I'd be really mad about it, haha!). Anyway, he's been utilising the waterproofing feature that's been included with his phone, and he's always made sure that his phone is squeaky clean - by running it under the tap, of course. I mean, if you've got the feature, why not use it - right? However, he went to wash it yesterday, and water's got into the phone due to the phone bending: he said that the bending has raised the back of the phone slightly, and this is how the water has got in. Both of the cameras now have water condensation in them, and the phone's screen will no longer work - and neither will the speakers, which prove to be a little bit of an inconvenience due to him requiring the use of both the screen and the speaker on a more-than-regular basis, for work purposes. This is where it gets a little bit tricky. Due to him still being in the year-long warranty that Sony give on their products, can he get his phone repaired/replaced under this warranty, due to the fault being due to the phone having a manufacturing defect where the phone bends? All of the water damage indicators suggest that he water-proofed the phone (I'm not sure what these are, but he said that it's something to do with all of the ports being waterproofed correctly), so this is why I'm asking: because he's done all he can to maintain the waterproofness (not sure if that's the correct term!), would he be able to get it repaired or replaced under warranty? Thanks for any help,Oli.

I have a xperia z3 dual, and had died as a result there is a leak in the mounting hole so that water can get into it. please sony can improve further production, and would be very happy if I could have done a replacement .. :smileyhappy... I just bought 3 months ago

  • SONY XPERIA Z1S: AFTER WATER DAMAGE... (PLEASE HELP!)

HI, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY SONY XPERIA Z1S AND IT'S THAT AFTER BEING SUBMERGED INTO A POOL, I'VE TRIED A LOT OF METHODS, SUCH AS THE BLOWER, THE RICE AND THE ONE THAT DID THE TRICK ONCE, 70% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, AND THEN EVERYTHING SEEMED OK WITH THE DEVICE AND THEN BOOM, THE RED LIGHT FLASHING AND THE 3 VIBRATIONS AGAIN. DAYS LATER, I BOUGHT A BOTTLE OF 99% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL AND FINALLY DID THE TRICK FOR GOOD. NOW, THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE SCREEN WON'T TURN ON. I OPENED IT CAREFULLY AND SOMEHOW THE TOUCH IS RESPONSIVE SOMETIMES, BUT THE SCREEN STILL DOESN'T WANT TO TURN ON AT ALL, SHOULD I CHANGE THE LCD SCREEN OR WHAT?
PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME, WHAT CAN I DO!?

  • Ipod 4th generation has black screen water damage

Hi my husband washed my ipod in the washing machine and now it will play and charge etc all fine but the screen is black and I can't see anything on it. Any ideas if this can be fixed?

You could send it to Apple to be serviced or to a third party repair company to see if they can determine whether or not its capable or worth being fixed.  Apple will swap out the out of warranty iPod for this price: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
Google for "iPod nano repair" and you should get a number of third party service center results to work with.

  • If my iphone screen is cracked but it also has water damage will it be covered under applecare?

If my Iphone screen is cracked but it also has water damage will it be covered under applecare since i need the screen replaced?

Neither of those is covered by the standard one-year warranty.
If you purchased AppleCare+, you may be able to get it replaced for $79+ tax; otherwise, you will most likely be paying $269+ tax to replace the phone.

  • My Ipod touch's touch screen is disabled following water damage. How can I circumvent my passcode to transfer my recent iTunes purchases to my computer?

The touch screen on my iPod touch doesn't work anymore following water damage. I can't connect to iTunes on my computer because the iPod is passcode protected. How can I transfer a few albums that I recently bought from the iPod to my computer?

    Use 3rd party software like:

  • Black screen with white circle every 5 seconds, after water damage

my ipod touch (3gen.32gb) had water damage 3 days ago. now as it dried, i connected it to itunes and restored, but it keeps showing black screen with white circle every 3-5 seconds. could this be a software problem or is it all because of water?  i put it in recovery mode, and restored again, but it did not help, is there anything i could do to stop it ? thanks

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I have a totally unresponsive touch screen had been working fine, no water damage either

I suddenly have an unresponsive touch screen, had been working fine and no water damage or damage to the screen.  Have turned on and off etc.  Can any one help??

Sounds like a problem with the router installation/configuration (likely) or a DOA router (very unlikely).
Visit the forums for the router manufacturer (i.e., linksys, d-link, etc.) and ask for assistance there. There is probably a link to help listed in the router manual.

  • IPhone5 water damage and screen smash

Yesterday I was at a theme park and I dropped my iphone5 and it was smashed all over the screen (i know i'm an idiot) but this happens frequently now so i just make do with it and eventually get a new one. Then I went on a water ride and my iphone5 somehow  became water damaged. It just says to connect to itunes but when I do it says to restore the iphone5. When I try to restore it an error occours. Is there any way I can make my iphone work again? Or do I just get a replacement? And also, I havent synced my iphone since about two weeks ago, and i've taken quite a lot of photos, I'm guessing they will be wiped from my phone as well? I'm pretty sure the speaker on my phone is broke but I just want my phone for messages, photos etc

Make an appointment at the genius bar and get it replaced. $229. You're going to lose anything that wasn't already backed up.

  • Water damaged white/dark grey screen

I have an iPod nano 4th gen. and its taken quite a bit of damage. Its screen is now white and fades to dark grey and I cant see much, but it would still play my music, videos, etc. It also has a slightly splotchy screen, which is most likely water damage. It was working fine before I had dropped it and left it outside for a couple hours. I tried resetting it to factory settings, and it didn't do anything. Is there any way I can fix this? Its an older ipod, about 7 years, way out of the warranty. Id prefer not to buy a new one, so any help will be appreciated.

Sorry, there's nothing can be done.
Your nano is corroding slowly but surely.

  • My daughter dropped her ipod touch 4g into water. We bought a new one 3 days ago which she has dropped. The screen has smashed! Can we use the good screen from the water damaged ipod to replace the broken one

Can anyone help please? My daughter dropped her ipon touch 4g into water which resulted in it being ruined. We bought her a new one three days ago and she has just dropped it and cracked the screen!!!
Cany anybody tell me, are we able to use the perfect screen from the water damaged ipod to replace the broken one on the new ipod or, would the water damage have ruined the screen too?
    Thanks in advance

Your very best option would be to take it to an apple store and exchange it for an alike model which can be a refurbished, or new unit. The repair/exchange price is about 99USD.  http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&viewlocale=en_US&geo=United_St ates&product=ipod&select=REPAIR_PRICING

  • IPhone 5 - Water Damage and Screen Damage

I dropped my iPhone 5 December 2013, managed to deal with it upto the end of January when I went to a party and accidentally knocked it into a drunken friends sick. I dried phone best I could as I had no rice nearby so just was a towel I used. The phone turned on and off okay however was tacky with buttons on the screen, it was bad calibration. The phone worked for 2 weeks then started having bad calibration issues again and then I got lines down the screen multicoloured so by this I'm assuming that it's water damaged. The screen is completely smashed and chipped on the rear corner and front corner. I'm just wondering if anyone knows a price it would be for a replacement at the Genius Bar (Liverpool, UK). All I get on emails, chat and phone is we'll look when you come in and after inspection the most it can be is £209 which I'm hoping I don't have to pay. I'm needing an approximate price not the maximum they charge for any inspection. Does anyone know the criteria for it to ever be £209 or anybody had this experience before? I have no idea what to take in with me money wise and no idea what they will have to do. Also regarding the SIM card, can that get damaged in anyway? And will my contract company (O2) send me a new one for free of charge if it's rusty broke or whatever?
My iPhone 5 is in warranty, I dropped it last year and paid £170 to get a replacement but apparently prices have changed. My warranty runs out the end of April 2014/beginning of June 2014.
    Thank you

"If Apple allows me to purchase a phone for the replacement fee, would they allow me to purchase the iphone 5 at the replacement fee price? "
    No.
"Or would I only be allowed to purchase the iphone 4s because it was the model I am replacing?"
    Yes.

  • HT4623 hi i have an iphone 4s and has not been a year yet no water damage but there is a white cloudy screen around the edges and will start going crazy with different colors and all someone please gel what is wrong with it?

    hi
i have an iphone 4s and has not been a year yet no water damage but there is a white cloudy screen around the edges and will start going crazy with different colors and all someone please gel what is wrong with it?

I switched the usb port and did the whole recovery holding of the buttons ect... And it worked, the computer detected the phone and i was able to click restore. However, the computer says preparing iphone for restore and it is still doing the restarting thing where the apple fades away and then comes back like it is restarting. If i can somehow get past this i will be able to go back to factory settings and resolve my problem, but this is where i am stuck.
