Hi all,
we are in an upgrade from NW700 BI-System with FINBASIS an SEM- Addons.
now we are running into the following error.
in the BIND_PATCH phase we added the support packages for BI_CONT 704 01-03.
Now in the XPRA-phase we get en Error:

The Source-System/mandant which is mentioned was deleted long time ago, but there is still some information of these deleted systems in the R/3, but i dont know where is can find these information so that it can be corrected.
Can someone help me to correct it ?

I am in the process of upgrading the SolMan to EHP1.
I have read all the Docs available in SMP and also refered the Blogs.
Can any 1 please give the Brief steps that we need to follow to upgrade SolMan as i need to submit the request i need to specify the what all actions am going to perform. So i need the brief steps in order, that would of great help.
Our Kernel release is 700 SOlMan7. i know that we need to take SP to 17 before upgradation. But what abt Kernel level.
Here SP17 means is it only ABAP. Basis and Java or it it all the SP availabe in the system should be take to 17.

Upgrade all components which are not upgraded by stack upgrade to highest level.
Does this mean i need to upgrade all the SP levels of all SP available in my system.

As per the note sapnote_0001169247, there are 2 XML files SAP_SOLUTION_MANAGER_70_EHP1.xml and SPSTab.xml.
whats the main use of these files, whats the mai purpose, what they contain. How they are useful in upgrading SolMan to EHP1.

Error in PREP_INIT/VERSCHK_INI phase during upgrade to NW70 EHP1 SR1

We are in the process of upgrade to SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 SR1 and we got the below error during the upgrade:
Checks after phase PREP_INIT/VERSCHK_INI were negative!
Last error code set: Start Release configuration 'SAP_ABA=700,SAP_BASIS=700,SAP_BW=700' is not supported Compare the release of your SAP system with the requirements listed in the documentation.
Choose action
     Repeat phase VERSCHK_INI to continue at the point it stopped
     Cancel the current phase VERSCHK_INI and go back to wizard
     Exit this program
We verified the DVDs (media list) we are uing for the upgarde and it is correct.
Any ideas on how this can be resolved?

ERP 6 NW 7.0 upgrade to NW 7.01(NW EHP1) + ERP EHP4

is here anyone who has successfully upgraded/updated ERP 6 NW 7.0 with NW EH1 + ERP EHP4 (as sap suggests in guide. I really need only NW EHP1)? There are a lot of questions about this process and sap-EHPI and how to do it, and I need this info from someone who has done this, not some links to notes which i red already some 10 times or pdf guides. I have pretty simple questions and I need direct instructions.
server is ABAP+JAVA with portal.

You must apply Netweaver EHP1 for EHP4 ERP, this is a recommendation of sap that you have a lastest patchs and kernel. If not you system could have inconsistenses.
Now, I update my ERP 6.0 to EHP4 with EHP1 for SAP Netweaver.

/ASU/UPGRADE after the ECC6.0 EHP4 upgrade Finalization step

Hello all,
Needed some information on the ASU step in Postprocessing phase of the upgrade. We are upgrading form 4.7 to ECC 6 EHP4 and we are in the Postprocessing phase. The current step is to perform the /ASU/UPGRADE, and I wanted to know if I need to stop te upgrade to perform this step or I can proceed with the rest of the Post processing and Finalization phase and still do the /ASU/UPGRADE step. Please advice ASAP.

we are in upgrade to ECC 6.0 EHP4 too and now at phase ASU/UPGRADE.
Note 1000009 advices to make adjusments in client 000, but we are working in client 100. And the procuced task list is client-dependent. So things like budget period or wage types are usually in working client.
Which is the correct client to use?

Error in Upgrading ECC 6.0 to EHP4

Hi sap gurus,
Am upgrading ECC 6.0 to EHP4. now am in configuration phase. in the EHP_INCLUSION phase am getting a error:
" Severe error(s) occured in phase PREP_EXTENSION/SUBMOD_EXTENSION_NEW/EHP_INCLUSION!
Last error code set: Stack inclusion failed: patch level 53 for component EA-HR is too low, destination level is already at 55"
Then i downloaded the required patches of patch level service pack 56-61 and continued, but getting the same error..after that i checked the current status of the server. its having EA-HR component till service pack 55. but when i checked the stack XML file, its showing only EA-HR component SP02 to SP53. i think this error is due to the mismatch in stack XML file. i dono what should i do for this. should i need to alter the stack XML file manually? Please help me guys. my upgradation is hanging. please help me guys.

it is fine to assume that the stack file is mismatched with the system as the file suggested the ehpi to patch until level 53 but the original system already up to 55. if you are set on editing the xml file and this is not for production, you could try to remove the HR part entirely, just use find and try to remove all of that content that related to HR, be careful with the tag. just delete <software-component> until </software-component> for the HR part, remember to backup original file. it will avoid the error. Since the xml suggested 53 and the system already at 55 and assuming all other components correctly defined in the stack, i think it is fine to continue, and if i'm not mistaken after calculation with stack file, ehpi will offer to add support package level manually, you can add HR level until 61 or just leave it at 55 and add manually with spam later.
if this is for production system, i think you should go with AC suggestion, just find whats wrong with solman and reinstall using the right xml file.

SMD Post upgrade activities after EHP1

Hi,
We have recently upgraded our solution manager from SP15 to SP20(EHP1). We have upgraded our kernel to 7.01
I found that in the directory /usr/sap/SMD/exe, the kernel files are still in version 700.
So what is the exaxt post processing steps related to SMD and wily introscope in Solman and satellite system after EHP 1 upgrade
PS: We are upgrading our satellite systems ie ECC 6.0 to ECC 6.0 EHP4 and Netweaver 2007 systems to Netweaver 2007 EHP1.

R/3 4.7 Enterprise upgrade to ECC 6.0 EHP4

Just want to ask anyone here who has done the upgrade from r/3 4.7 to ecc 6.0 inclusive of ehp4 - is the upgrade runtime extended/longer compared with the upgrade just to ECC 6.0 SR3 ?
I've personally executed an EHP4 installation using SAPehpi and the end to end time execution is really long and. Some background - we are deciding if we would want to include EHP4 during the 4.7 upgrade or to apply EHP4 separately once the upgrade is done, the downtime is of concern here as we are limited to just the weekend.

We did upgrade of R34.7 to ECC 6.0 SR3 EHP3 and we were able to complete this one day downtime. I am not sure about EHP4 but it should not take much longer. I beleive you should be able to accomplish this in weekend.
My suggestion is to do a system copy of PROD to a sandbox and perform test upgrade. By doing this you will know
1. what issues you will have during actual upgrade
2. Tunning that you can do to reduce downtime.
3. SPDD/SPAU adjustments can be evaluated.
By repeating couple of iteration on sandbox. You can estimate what would be your downtime and what you can do to reduce it.

    Am new to SAP. Basis. i've started a project on "Test upgrade of PRD server ECC 6.0 to EHP4" I finished installtion of SAP ECC 6.0 and took backup from PRD server and restored it in my test server. now i've to through my upgradation phase.
           Now i configured in solution manager and started maintenance optimizer. Now my problem is wen i configured in maintenance optimizer for the first time, i choose in 2. select files phase i chose the following options.
    2. select files --> calculate files automatically-Recommended.
                           --> Enhancement package
2.1 choose stack---> i tick 'media' only.
2.3 stack dependent files----> its selected some files showing totally 623 files ready to be download in download basket.
but due to collapse in download manager i missed some files..so i started the maintenance optimiser again in a new transaction. but i can find its selected some files by default including 'media; option with other options also. in the next phases also it defaultly selected all the files required for upgradation. but this time i can see only 298 files ready for downloading.. i dono which one is correct one. shall i go the first transaction or he new transaction.. please help me guys..

Hi guys,
I am a little kid in SAP. Before 30 days i don know what SAP is? am a newly joined trainee in basis in a concern.
now am given a oppurtunity to work on a project of "Test upgrade of Production server ECC 6.0 to EHP4".
i've to start my project. i've been preparing about the EHP4. but am not clear about the concept.will u guys give me the link for this upgrade guide??
i've seen that EHP4 has released as a new tool of installation unlike as other upgrade versions. And it allows to choose the netweaver component 7.0 for portal upgrade. Am not sure of this.please any guys, will u please elaborate about this concept??
And another thing is, my boss wants business suite 7.0 in that. i've no idea of business suite. when i asked my senior, he told that if u upgrade to EHP4, business suite components will be added to tht enhancement package. will u please exlain weather business suite is available in EHP4?

You can do it from EHPI installer tool. this document also you can get it from above website.
From solution manager you can get the key and Stack file. download required support stack as per the stack file.
follow the steps in upgrade/Ehpi installer document.

Failed to upgrade from ERP 6.0 EHP4 to EHP5

Dear SAP Gurus,
we are running ERP 6.00 with EHP4 (HCM-component) based on Windows 2003
SP2 X64 and SQL Server 2005 SP4 (64-bit).
We are using SAP Kernel Unicode 7.01 PL 133 (64-bit).
We intend to upgrade from EHP4 to EHP5.
Upon running SAPehpi, we encountered issue which stopped us from
proceeding with the upgrade.
Case 1: Direct upgrade to 605
The upgrade failed on PREP_INPUT/VERSCHK_INI with error message: The
following combination is not supported (SAP_APPL 600, SAP_BASIS 701,
SAP_ABA 701).
Case 2: Upgrade SAP_APPL component from 600 to 604 (due to the above
error message)
The upgrade failed on PREP_INPUT/VERSCHK_INI with error message:
Release '701' of component SAP_BASIS is too new.
Case 3: upgrade via SAINT is not supported by SAP. When uploading the
Stack XML file, we got error saying that the stack is not supported.
Attached is the complete list of the current SP Level of Installed
components.
Please advise on how we can perform the upgrade to EHP5.

The thing is Solution Manager was able to produce the XML file during the previous upgrade to 604 (the one without SAP_APPL 604).
So how can it not be supported by SAP?
If it is not supported by SAP, how can I proceed from here?

User logoff session for SAP Upgrade 4.6C to ECC4 EHP4

currently i was performing an upgrade and unicode conversion from SAP 4.6C to SAP ECC6 EHP4 (Windows + Oracle), my question is when is the phrase where by i need to ask all the user logoff from the system when i performing the upgrade, below is the Roadmaps for the upgrade and i'm using the downtime minimized for the SAPUP.

actually users can work up to the end of preprocessing phase, just before the downtime. Just please be aware that your system will be locked for changes in phase REPACHK2:

Upgrading Solman from SP 17 to EHP1 errors with the Kernel install

I've been trying to upgrade solman to EHP1 but I get errors when I try to install Kernel 7.01. After I have copied the kernel to \SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64 I can start SAP and for a while it works. Then SAP stops working and both services stop. I've tried to restart the services but I get and error telling me its the wrong product version and to re-install the software. Its a 64bit unicode kernel on windows 2003 64bit and I have the right kernel. Any ideas anyone?

I am having the same issues. when upgrading via JSPM or manually, the sap services won't start and keep saying the version is incompatable, and suggested to reinstall.
Did you manage to get around it?
