XRack  Rev-1.7 "SUA 100 OS X 10.5.8

Has anyone experience with XRack Rev-1.7 "SUA 100?
I've suddenly kernel Panics with this Card.
The G4 was a real good Server, but about one month ago the G4 stopped working. I installed 10.5 without the card. everything seemed fine. It worked 2 weeks without any problems. Now I installed the XRack again and the trouble started again.
In the meantime I put the Rack in an older G4 with 10.4 without any problems.
So anyone can help please?

Do they have Drivers for 10.5, that seems the problem, but I can find out nothing about the card at all.

  • Just upgraded to Leopard now I get constant kernal panics!

I just upgraded my G4 PPC to 10.5.8. I can do things okay on my computer for a while then it does the kernal panic. All updates have been done except the prokit 5 one (I use logic and the last upgrade messed with it). Could this be causing the issue? Here is the info. I hope someone can help so I can start doing more recording!

First, I would disconnect all peripherals except the original Apple keyboard and mouse. Boot the computer into safe mode if possible and do the following:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your currently installed OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Now, you did not indicate if this upgrade to 10.5.8 was from an earlier version of Leopard or if you first upgraded to Leopard then to 10.5.8 using the combo updater. I'm assuming the former, so after you've done the above repairs reinstall the 10.5.8 Combo Updater. If you did not use a Combo Updater, then you can download it from support.apple.com/downloads/.
If the above doesn't help then I would suggest reinstalling OS X as follows:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.
And, if the above doesn't help start looking at the probability of bad RAM.

    * Oracle (system) error messages start with a prefix like "ORA-" and a 5-digit number. The prefix may be different from ORA depending on where the error was raised
    * The message does not look familiar, but I often find new messages I have never seen before
First thing to do is to find out where the mesage is coming from. If you have source code search it for the message. It may be coming from a trigger.
See if the table you are trying to insert into has any triggers and if so check to see if your message is coming from a trigger. You can also check ALL_SOURCE for the message to check in-database source code. If the message is coming from an offline applicatioion like Reports or Forms then the message will be hearder to track down

  • Distribution by ref... Pls solve

    Dear Experts,
I have a similar req like below.
    0fiscyear      0version      customerGRP         rev
    2007              v1                  G01                  100
    2007              v1                  G02                  200
    2007              v1                  G03                  300
    2008              v2                    #                    1200
Could you expalin me what will be the values of key points like say,
What fields to be taken in filter and what shud be their values?
Ex: Field in filter is 0fiscyear and its value is 2007 and 2008.
And in Planning func "distribution by Ref"
What shud be under "fields o be changed", "used in condition".
What shud bethe blocked characteristic and their value?
Any granular level info would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    _Lisa

    Hi,
If you want to distribute the # record which has v2 and 2008 among all the customer groups based on 2007 data, design lik below.
    Filter selections: version v2
                             year  2008
Fields to be changed: customer group
    Fields for condition: keyfigure name
reference characteristics: version, year, customer group
in the parameter group, specify keyfigure name as revenue
restrict version to v1, year to 2007.
    dont restrict customer group.
This function will pick up this reference data and distributes the # record.
    Hope this meets ur requirement.

HOW TO Create From-User   To-User attributes?

    Hi Monica
Third party software is available, from AccessVia, that can be used to create and update templates. Sample sample sqt can help you to understand the required inputs (batchID, templateID, departmentID, locale).

  • Batterielaufzeit

Ich habe einige Fragen wie man die Batterielaufzeit verbesern kann.
Diesen Artikel habe ich bereits gelesen: http://www.apple.com/de/batteries/notebooks.html
    "Notebooks nicht ständig mit Netzstrom zu betreiben {...}

    http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html
    Speichern Sie Ihr MacBook
Keep it plugged in when near a socket so you keep the charging cycles down on your LiPo (lithium polymer) cells / battery, but not plugged in all the time. When not being used for several hours, turn it off.
And best "tip" is if its near a socket,...plug it in as long as you can (especially at home) since cycle count on the battery are the "miles that wear out the tires (battery)", however again, not plugged in all or most of the time.
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html
"Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time."
General rule to remember of Lithium batteries is:
Never drain them LOW  & dont always/often store them HIGH
While cycle count is commonly seen to be the “miles” on your Lithium Ion pack cell in your Macbook, which they are, this distinction is not a fine line at all, and it is a big misconception to “count charge cycles”
*A person who has, for example, 300 charge cycles on their battery and is recharging at say 50-60% remaining of a 100% charge has better battery usage and care than another person who has 300 charge cycles at say 15% remaining on a 100% charge.
DoD (depth of discharge) is far more important on the wear and tear on your Macbook battery than any mere charge cycle count.  *There is no set “mile” or wear from a charge cycle in general OR in specific.    As such, contrary to popular conception, counting cycles is not conclusive whatsoever, rather the amount of deep DoD on an averaged scale of its use and charging conditions.
(as a very rough analogy would be 20,000 hard miles put on a car vs. 80,000 good miles being something similar)
*Contrary to some myths out there, there is protection circuitry in your Macbook and therefore you cannot overcharge it when plugged in and already fully charged
*However if you don’t plan on using it for a few hours, turn it OFF (plugged in or otherwise) ..*You don’t want your Macbook both always plugged in AND in sleep mode       (When portable devices are charging and in the on or sleep position, the current that is drawn through the device is called the parasitic load and will alter the dynamics of charge cycle. Battery manufacturers advise against parasitic loading because it induces mini-cycles.)
Keeping batteries connected to a charger ensures that periodic "top-ups" do very minor but continuous damage to individual cells, hence Apples recommendation above:   “Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time”, …this is because “Li-ion degrades fastest at high state-of-charge”.
This is also the same reason new Apple notebooks are packaged with 50% charges and not 100%.
LiPo (lithium polymer, same as in your Macbook) batteries do not need conditioning. However...
A lot of battery experts call the use of Lithium cells the "80% Rule" ...meaning use 80% of the charge or so, then recharge them for longer overall life.
Never let your Macbook go into shutdown and safe mode from loss of power, you can corrupt files that way, and the batteries do not like it.
The only quantified abuse seen to Lithium cells are instances when often the cells are repeatedly drained very low…. key word being "often"
Contrary to what some might say, Lithium batteries have an "ideal" break in period. First ten cycles or so, don't discharge down past 40% of the battery's capacity. Same way you don’t take a new car out and speed and rev the engine hard first 100 or so miles.
Proper treatment is still important. Just because LiPo batteries don’t need conditioning in general, does NOT mean they dont have an ideal use / recharge environment. Anything can be abused even if it doesn’t need conditioning.
    From Apple on batteries:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1446
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/
    Storing your MacBook
If you are going to store your MacBook away for an extended period of time, keep it in a cool location (room temperature roughly 22° C or about 72° F). Make certain you have at least a 50% charge on the internal battery of your Macbook if you plan on storing it away for a few months; recharge your battery to 50% or so every six months roughly if being stored away. If you live in a humid environment, keep your Macbook stored in its zippered case to prevent infiltration of humidity on the internals of your Macbook which could lead to corrosion.
    Considerations:
Your battery is subject to chemical aging even if not in use. A Lithium battery is aging as soon as its made, regardless.
In a perfect (although impractical) situation, your lithium battery is best idealized swinging back and forth between 20 and 85% SOC (state of charge) roughly.
Further still how you discharge the battery is far more important than how it is either charged or stored short term, and more important long term that cycle counts.
Ultimately counting charge cycles is of little importance.  Abuse in discharging (foremost), charging, and storing the battery and how it affects battery chemistry is important and not the ‘odometer’ reading, or cycle counts on the battery.
Everything boils down to battery chemistry long term, and not an arbitrary number, or cycle count.
Keep your macbook plugged in when near a socket since in the near end of long-term life, this is beneficial to the battery.
    Peace

  • ThinkCentre A62 (9486-A33) BIOS UPDATE PROBLEM

    Hi
I have a Lenovo AM2 socket motherboard. On the pcb is printed M2RS780MH (L-A780) Rev 1.1
After 100% successful bios update with win xp pro from bios version 56KT48A to the latest bios version 56KT62A i get no boot or beep error code!!!  After this successful update... i found after much searching that with this motherboard model you cannot update from 48A to 62A version because you risk to "brick" your motherboard but there is no notification of this problem from Lenovo not to update the bios from this old version to the latest. This is clearly a Lenovo problem and not the users fault to not being able to correctly update the bios.
Is there any way to fix this problem??????????????
Making a diskette with lower bios version like 61A did not help.
I have saved the old bios(56KT48A) before upgrading, how can i install the old bios??????????????
    Andrew

Sorry, it seems you had very bad luck with this update: System unable to boot after performing Boot Block Recovery. You may be interested in following this flash recovery boot block jumper procedure before giving up.
Let us know what happens if you try the recovery procedure!
Edit: this one looks like the right diskette version for the recovery procedure on your computer.

  • Drivers for 250 G3 (K3W99EA#BED), Rev. 2213-100

Greetings, I bought a 250 G3 laptop (K3W99EA#BED), Rev. 2213-100 (using Intel Celeron N2840) and it came with a Windows 8 OS. As I need Windows 7 for some of the applications I'm running, I decided to downgrade. Upon trying to install the drivers from the official 250 G3 site, all of them gave me an error saying "This system does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". I'd like to know where I could find the suitable Windows 7 drivers (64 bit)? I would like to thank everyone for help in advance!

Hello The web page seams to have problems. I suggest you to install HP SoftPaq Download Manager
This software detects what drivers are missing and auto update it.

  • BIA Rev. 7.00.53.00, DBMAN 305, RSD_TREX 100, unloading temp indexes...

    Hi BIA team,
we have several questions regarding some error situations which we get when we execute many parallel queries against the BIA.
On BI side we get this 2 errors:
DBMAN 305 Error reading the data of InfoProvider YREP_BC_1$X YREP_BC_1$X
RSD_TREX 100 Error executing physical plan: general error (no f 2999
On BIA side in the TrexRFCServerAlert trace at the same time we found this type of errors:
    1. TREXRfcSvr   trexAggregate.cpp(01016) : TREX_RFC_AGGREGATE_SP5 rc: 2999 (Error executing physical plan: general error (no further information available);BwPopBuildIndexUnion pop29(setAliasIndex('pcs_yrep_bc_1-union_of_pcs_bi0_0805006369_pcs_bi0_0805006377en'),addIndexForUnion('pcs_bi0:0805006369en'),addIndexForUnion('pcs_bi0:0805006377en')),in executor::Executor in cube: pcs_yrep_bc_1).
    2. TREXRfcSvr   trexAggregate.cpp(01016) : TREX_RFC_AGGREGATE_SP5 rc: 2007 (Error creating physical plan: Index does not exist;index=pcs_bi0:0805095572 in cube: pcs_yrep_bc_1).
We have observed that this types of errors are present if the BIA has the overloaded warning and unloading temp. indexes...
    Now the Questions:
    1. Why is BIA unloading indexes which are needed for the current query execution, why not deleting only old ones ?
    2. After 10000 query executions we have about 22000 temp indexes and in the Reorg tab there is a warning "Standard Deviation of Join/OLAP Indexes 10147 MB, 1625 MB, 84 %, reorg yes", should we schedule a daily job for the cleanup ?
    5. What exactly does "Standard Deviation of Join/OLAP Indexes" in BIA world mean ?
    3. Were are the temp indexes stored, Shared Memory ?
    4. Currently we have phys. 284 GB Ram and 95 MB shared memory assigned, what would be the ideal value for Shared Memory ?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Roman Doubrava

I believe you can dismiss the reorg message, it should take care of itself.
Make sure your BW statistics are running regularly, lack of it may contribute to this.
Looks like you need more memory ( by deleting data or adding blades). Before than I would do a reorg and re-start BWA to clean up temp indexes -there is one memory for data and temp indexes  -.
I would check if you have APD queries and definitely exclude them from BWA.
If none works, I would check the statistics for the last 90 days to see what cubes and what queries went to BWA and how many times. Based on the facts that you can either eliminate the least used cubes, based on the nr of recordes being fetched you can exclude certain queries from BWA maybe schedule them overnight, you can exclude BATCH/Information Broadcasting queries, user aleremote, etc
    Cheers

  • [SOLVED] Mic does not work on Intel ICH8 (rev 3) sound card

    Hi, folks.
I cannot get my sound card to record anything, using a built-in microphone. Audio output works just fine, though. I hope someone can help me, I have been banging my head against the wall for some time over this issue...
My laptop is Toshiba Satellite A200-1J0 (PSAE6E-04R036G3). alsamixer settings are fine, I tried supplementing additional options to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf, but no luck, tried some of the combinations (model=<> position_fix=<>).
When recording sound with gnome-sound-recorder, with Capture set as input, nothing is heard. Skype can't record anything, either. I can't even get the crackling or hissing sound like some users do.
Should I try to get the latest ALSA?

    Hi there!
I had the very same problem with the same soundcard and found this thread.
The problem got solved for me by adding the same line as you have to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf.
However, I also had to create /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf and add:
    alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
    alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel
    options snd-hda-intel model=toshiba power_save=0
Notice the difference on the "model=toshiba" part.
However, my laptop is not a Toshiba, but a Compal IFL90.
I remember that in Ubuntu I needed(a long time ago) to add a line to /etc/alsa.conf with model=toshiba. I figured it might be worth a try, and well, it did.
I hope this can help someone else.
As for the OP: "You have my thanks!"

  • PSA no deletion SAP BW on HANA Rev 61

    Hi,
PSAs are not getting deleted for some of the datasources due to error loads and multiple runs. System is SAP BW on HANA Rev 61.
The previous job failure was not corrected  and the subsequent job was started based on the process chain schedule and that one as well failed. This has happened 2 times. Now the PSA table says it has duplicate entries and it is not dropping when we try to delete manually or through program.
Whenever we try to delete the PSA, the SAPLSDB2 program runs and is stuck in SM51. St22 error log says

    Hi Siddartha,
    That option is not working.
    Thanks

  • My battery needs service as it is not working for long.  Apple claims it is not a defective battery and that it is my fault since I had the computer for 2 1/2 years and have only run the battery down to empty 100 times.  It is my fault because I did no

    Con't
Apple claims that because I did not drain my battery frequently and kept it plugged in for extended periods of time, that it is my fault the battery is failing.  I disagree because I was not ever told to consistently drain my battery before recharging or not to keep it on and plugs in for extended periods of time.  I do keep my desktop computer on most of the time and that is why I have kept my Macbook air on for extended time periods.  I feel that Applecare should cover this battey issue and not charge me for replacing the battey.  I feel I should have been told to not keep my computer consistently running on with poweror the battery will fail.  Has anyone had this problem?  Apple should replace my battery under Apple care as my battery does not keep a charge anymore.
    I'll wait to hear.

You said---Apple claims that because I did not drain my battery frequently
You said---  I was not ever told to consistently drain my battery before recharging
You should never do that on purpose, whoever told you that had it wrong or you misunderstood something
Sure you dont have that backwards? thats exactly what you DONT want to do.
Did you often drain the battery very low? that would explain a lot.
Someone might have been misinformed about "battery calibration" regarding much older Macs with removable batteries (see bottom)
You said-----I do keep my desktop computer on most of the time and that is why I have kept my Macbook air on for extended time periods.
thats a problem there, youre not supposed to do that.
This is also the same reason new Apple notebooks are packaged with 50% charges and not 100%.
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html
"Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time."
*If you don’t plan on using it for a few hours, turn it OFF (plugged in or otherwise) ..*You don’t want your Macbook both always plugged in AND in sleep mode       (When portable devices are charging and in the on or sleep position, the current that is drawn through the device is called the parasitic load and will alter the dynamics of charge cycle. Battery manufacturers advise against parasitic loading because it induces mini-cycles.)

    Peace
Battery calibration, battery memory, battery overcharging, battery training, …all these concepts are mostly holdovers from much older battery technology, and on older Apple portable Macbooks ranging from early nicads, NiMh and otherwise; and these practices do not apply to your lithium battery and its smart controllers.
Calibrating the battery on older Apple portable Macbooks with removable batteries.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14087
There is no calibration of current Apple portable Macbooks with built-in batteries.
    http://support.apple.com/ht1490
There is no battery calibration with current Apple portable Macbooks with built-in batteries. Lithium batteries have essentially a 0-‘memory’, and all such calibration involve the estimations fed to the system controller on the SOC (state of charge) of the battery over long periods of time as the battery degrades. The software based battery controller knows the battery's characteristics, or SOC and adjusts itself. This is why there is both no need and purpose to periodically deeply drain your macbook battery, since it doesn’t affect the characteristics of the battery, and further still deep discharges are something you should not do on purpose to any lithium battery.

  • Debugfs using 100% cpu on boot for 10 minutes

    Hi,
I've recently installed archlinux on my Thinkpad x230.
I have arch and windows on my SSD which is /dev/sdb and I've got an HD for storing files at /dev/sda1 (ext4).
I set it up with systemd in the beginning so I can't compare to what it was like when it was using init.
    I'm getting commands like:
    root      3524  0.0  0.0  21520  1112 ?        R    15:08   0:00 debugfs -R stat ./grub/i386-pc/newc.mod /dev/sda1
    root      3510 94.5  0.0  21520  1108 ?        R    15:08   0:01 debugfs -R stat ./grub/i386-pc/probe.mod /dev/sda1
With various files running for about 10 minutes on boot and using 100% of my cpu.
Seems to be related to the HD on /dev/sda1 as I don't believe I've seen any on /dev/sdb.
I've looked around and I can't find anything about this.

If any more info if needed I'll try to supply as soon as possible.
    Thanks!

    Start with this:
Open System Preferences, select the Network pane and select AirPort in the "Show:" popup menu.
Set the "By default, join:" popup menu to "Preferred networks."
Delete the listed preferred networks using the "-" button but this time we did not add it back again with the "+" button as Apple recommends.
Set the "By default, join:" popup menu to "Automatic."
    Restart.
Manually rejoin the AirPort network using the AirPort menu icon, i.e. selecting the network (or selecting "Other" and typing in the network name if hidden) and typing in the WPA (or WEP) password.
If you are using the Checkpoint Secure Client software, then you need to uninstall it.
Why reward points?(Quoted from Discussions Terms of Use.)
The reward system helps to increase community participation. When a community member gives you (or another member) a reward for providing helpful advice or a solution to their question, your accumulated points will increase your status level within the community.
Members may reward you with 5 points if they deem that your reply is helpful and 10 points if you post a solution to their issue. Likewise, when you mark a reply as Helpful or Solved in your own created topic, you will be awarding the respondent with the same point values.
