Xsan right for this? Pooling the drives in multiple towers into one volume

I have a possibly wacky idea to install secondary hard disks in each of our several towers and somehow pool them all together into a single virtual volume that all the servers could mount.
Each server would have its own set of files for which it would be the primary server, as with an affinity. But all of the servers in the cluster would be able to see all the files of all the other servers, as if they were all sharing a big xserve raid.
The advantages would include making use of the equipment we have and compartmentalizing potential failures.
The alternative would be to mount all the shared volumes of all the servers on all the other servers, which is difficult to manage.
Is this something Xsan would be good for?

It's for web hosting. We already have the cluster in place and operational for apache and our applications.
Yes, I'm trying to optimize server resources -- but I'm referring to storage resources, not computing.
Consider a number of servers. They're all configured identically as far as the web hosting is concerned, so any of them can respond to requests for any site.
As far as files are concerned, however, each server has the static files (photos, images) and scripts for only a handful of sites. Server A has all the photos for web site X, Y, and Z. Server B has all the photos for web site T, U, and V. And so on.
Right now, for all the servers to have access to all of these files, I have to mount a share from each server onto each server. In other words, Server A has servers B, C, and D mounted. Server B has A, C, and D mounted. Etc.
What I'd like to do is put all of the files that all servers need onto one virtual volume. That way each server only has one volume to mount. Also, I can add and remove storage to the virtual volume as needed.
My question is, could Xsan bundle together internal hard drives from individual servers into one virtual volume? It would be like having an Xraid, except each drive is in a different tower.
I could tie together all the secondary internal drives from all the G5's into what I would think would appear to Xsan to be a JBOD box.
But the XYZ files would stay on Server A, and the TUV files would stay on Server B, thanks to an affinity set to that effect. But all the files for all the sites would appear and be available to all the other servers through the same single virtual volume.
Does that make a little better sense?
It's not so much for the sake of load balancing at the file level. It's more a matter of convenience and availability. If server B goes down, only sites TUV would be affected, you see, while all the other sites continue operating.
I guess I'm envisioning more of a collaborate approach among the towers, rather than putting all the eggs in one Xraid basket.

I'm trying to synchronize all my iPod's (I have as many as 4 iPods: 2 iPod touch a 8 GB each and 2 iPod classic a 160 GB each) with my iTunes software (Version 11.3.1 which is installed on a Windows PC (Windows Vista Home Premium)). Unfortunately, the iTunes software refuses to run the command "synchronize with the iPod connected" regarding each and every iPod I have. iTunes just declares:
Synchronizing is impossible because I wouldn't hold the access authorization / rights for this operation.
I uploaded the songs at issue to my iTunes folder from CD's (all songs are in AAC format now).
What is this access authorization, why was something like that invented and what can I do to get it?
How do I have to proceed in detail?
What would it cost?
I am brand new here and have never ever made a post in any support community anywhere in the world in my life. Well, and I am not excessively knowledgeable about the particular computer or mac language but I know the very basics or can find out about them.

1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

The attachment is an .xls excel 97-2003 spreadsheet. I viewed the file in the email and did not edit it with any software. I can forward the file to anyone that is may want to check it out to see if they can help me. I was wondering if there was some way of forcing another ios6 install on my phone and maybe that would solve it.

I'm unable to sync my contacts with the new iPhone 5 and my 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe. Will there be a fix for this in the next update?

I previously had an iPhone 4 synced and paired with my 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe and had no issues. Now I have a new iPhone 5 and am able to sync the phone but the contacts will not update in the phone book listing for the vehicle. I've tried several times to re-sync and pair the phone to the vehicle and still the same issue. I'm able to make an receive calls but no contact information is being displayed. From all of the previous community issues reported it's not an AT&T issue, Hyundai issue, it's clearly pointing at the device (iPhone 5) being the issue.
Will there be a fix for this in the next update?

Thanks for your response. However, after speaking with a level 2 Apple Advisor and Hyundai there is an issue that both companies are aware of and are working towards a resolution. Here's a blurb from Hyundai that was sent to me after I spoke with Apple Advisor:
"We apologize for any inconvenience associated with the technical issues with devices connected via Bluetooth. Hyundai is aware of the iPhone losing its Bluetooth connection to the vehicle along with any function associated with it at the time. Hyundai has been able to reproduce the concern in our test vehicles and have sent all necessary information to Apple engineers. It depends upon how the other machines are connecting to your MBA:
If the the other machines are also using wi-fi, they can connect directly to the wireless access point (router) without going through your MBA
If the other machines are connecting to the MBA using ethernet you can share your wi-fi connection to them

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

ITs an old Iomega 100gb external HD that has about 90gb of music on it. The Macbook has a 500gb HD. I would like to put the iTunes library on the internal HD so I have room to expand.

The only thing you do not want to do is over-stuff the internal hard drive. The OS needs some space to operate correctly, so if your iTunes library uses up more than say 80 to 85% of the internal HD's available space it may not be a good idea to transfer it over.
With that said, the internal HD will provide slightly faster access to the library than the external would, but other than that, you can point iTunes to the external drive just fine.

I recently received a PIXMA MG7520 for a gift. It works great with my lenovo laptop/tablet running on Windos 8.0. The one drawback to the HP all-in-one that it replaced is it does not have an ADF. That being said, there must be some way to scan multiple pages into one pdf file. I need help figuring thing out. Thanks in advance!

There is a program that comes with the printer called the IJ Scan Utility that can assist you with scanning multiple pages into a single PDF document. To do this, please follow these steps:
1. On your keyboard, press the Windows key.
2. Start typing IJ SCAN UTILITY. The search window opens as you type. Once the IJ SCAN UTILITY is displayed, please select and open it.
3. In the Canon IJ Scan Utility window that opens, click SETTINGS.... in the bottom right of the window. The Settings dialog box appears.
4. Click the DOCUMENT SCAN option on the left pane of the window.
5. In the SAVE SETTINGS section of the window, you will select the save format and location of the document you are about to scan.
a.) In the FILE NAME field, specify the name you would like to give the file. By default the filename will begin with IMG; you can remove IMG and change it to whatever you would like to name the file.
b.) In the DATA FORMAT field, use the drop-down arrow to select the PDF (Multiple Pages) option.
c.) In the SAVE IN field, please navigate to the area where you would like the file to be saved once it is scanned in. By default, the file will be saved in the MY DOCUMENTS folder.
6. Once all settings have been selected, click the OK button at the bottom of the window to save the changes. The IJ Scan Utility main screen appears.
7. Click the DOCUMENT button. Scanning starts. Click the CANCEL button to cancel scanning if needed. Scanned items are saved in previously selected folder location specified in the SETTINGS... window.
If you find that you need advanced scanning options such as adjusting resolution, brightness, contrast, saturation, color balance, etc. in addition to the options selected above, please click on the SCANGEAR button on the IJ Scan Utility Main screen, then adjust the items as necessary.
Once the items above are set for document scanning, in the future, you will only need to launch the IJ Scan Utility, then press the DOCUMENT button to perform the scan (unless you want to make changes to the settings).

BI for NW04S: Concatenating multiple chars into one field in BI query

We have BI for NW04S. We have a requirement of concatenating multiple characteristics into one field in the BI report. This single field should have the usual drill down and other olap functionalities that a single characteristic usually enjoy in a BI report.
In BI for NW04 (Not the S) this probably can be done using the table interface in WAD. However in BI7 WAD functionality are through Java.
Also can this be done using Query designer alone.
Can anybody help?

Can you please elaborate on your Query designer option. You can always have a variable and in the user exit can write code, but what is not clear that
1> How will you acheive the contatenation done for every row of the report in the BEX user exit variable( since it's called during the beginning of the query execution and not for all rows of the report
2> How do you transfer the char variable into a char field in the report.

You can scan multiple pages into a single document with the scan to PDF option. Use the following steps to do so:
1. Open MP Navigator.
2. Click One Clcik.
3. Click Save to PC.
4. Change the File Type from PDF to PDF (multiple pages).
5. Make any other changes as needed, then click scan.

From Node A, get the values of the attributes as
lo_NodeA->GET_STATIC_ATTRIBUTES( IMPORTING STATIC_ATTRIBUTES = ls_attributesA ).
Similarily get all the node values from B, C, D and E.
Finally append all your ls records to the table.
