Xserve 2006 pcie display card support

I just got a second hand xserve 1.1 I want to upgrade the display so I can use it play some game
Where can I get those graphic cards? Around how much?

10 times the same image or 10 different images?
A single Mac can do 8 displays and that would be a Mac Pro. Graphically it is your better choice anyway. As mentioned, the Xserve form factor is designed for rack mounts and not small by any means.
If you need to display 10 times the same image, you'll be much better off connecting a distribution amplifier that takes 1 image and simply displays that on 10 screens.
Things to consider:
1. Make sure that your displays have the proper inputs. Some models do better with VGA then DVI/HDMI when it comes to positioning/overscan. Since Mac video cards do digital and analog OUT, try a single display setting first.
2. Make sure your images are constantly updating if you are using plasmas. They are prone to screen burn in (depending on contrast and image in as little as a day). If still selecting displays, get LCD's instead; they can't burn in.
3. There are specialty video cards/extenders for doing this kind of multi panel display. Needed if you want to get fancy of what is shown. Very expensive though.
4. Distribution amplifiers will be your cheapest option. Look at Gefen or check out monoprice.com. You could get 2* 8 port DVI or VGA amps and drive them with a single video card and use up to 16 displays (or 2 times 8 displays).
Hope this helps...

  • Does the PCI-CAN2 card support DeviceNet ??

We are building a CAN network to simulate the CAN bus environment in vehicles.what we have are a pci-can2 card ,a simulator based on 51singlechips,and a electromotor.we plan to build a CAN node with  the simulator and the electromtor to simulate the mirror adjustor in vehicle ,and try to allow the exchangement between the  realone and the simulator later .so ,a Devicenet based on CAN network may be a suitable choice to us.But I saw two different products on NI.com , PCI-CAN2 and PCI-DNET.so  I wonder  whether we can implement Devicenet protocol on the PCI-CAN2 card ? If possible , what should we do and what do we need? no matter software or hardware ,Could you please give me some suggestion?  Thank you !!

    Hi,
The easiest way to interact with a DeviceNet based network is using the NI-DNET
driver software. The NI-DNET software runs on all CAN cards that come
as part of an NI-DNET kit (PCI-DNET, PXI-8461/D and PCMCIA-DNET) as
well as certain Series 1 CAN cards.
There are two different types of CAN hardware, referred to as 'Series
1' and 'Series 2'. Only 'Series 1' CAN cards with a high-speed physical
layer can be used with NI-DNET.
'Series 2' CAN hardware was introduced about two years ago and DOES NOT
work with NI-DNET. The online product pages don't list Series 1 CAN
    hardware anymore.
From chapter 2, 'NI-DNET Hardware Overview' of the NI-DNET User Manual:
Hardware in (current) CAN kits is referenced as Series 2. Hardware in
DeviceNet kits is referenced as Series 1. Series 2 CAN cards cannot be
used with the NI-DNET software (NI-CAN only). The features of Series 2
CAN cards are specifically designed for CAN applications, and provide
no distinct advantages for DeviceNet. For more information on Series 2
hardware, refer to the hardware overview in the NI-CAN Hardware and Software Manual.
Hardware in CAN kits offers 1-port and 2-port variants. NI-DNET
operates on one port only. If you use NI-DNET on a 2-port Series 1 CAN
card, only the top port can be used.
Hardware in CAN kits offer special transceivers (physical layer) such
as Low-Speed/Fault-Tolerant (LS) and Single-Wire (SW). Hardware in CAN
kits also offer the option to power the transceiver from the card, not
the network. These transceivers cannot be used with DeviceNet. Only
High-Speed (HS) transceivers comply with the DeviceNet specification.

  • Is my display card available for "OPENGL" in "AE CS4" or not?

    My video display card is
    " ATI FireGL V3350 "
is it supported in "After effects CS4" ?
    this card has OPENGL 2.0,
    but I can't find it in Preview setting(AE CS4)!
    I found the list
"OpenGL Preview display card support in After Effects"
    http://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects/extend.html
but it is CS5 not CS4!
is my card available for "OPENGL" in "AE CS4" or not?
    thanks sooo much!

Does your AE 9 already work for you?  Go into preferences and see what happens.  You won't break anything.  If it doesn't work, you'll know, and vice-versa.
You should also know that ALMOST NOBODY uses Open GL to accelerate rendering, and that includes Adobe Employees.  The only time it makes sense is with a fancy third-party plugin like Particle Illusion... and even then, you'd better be careful if you stack effects up, because there are bound to be those that just won't work with Open GL.

  • Cards Supporting MPE Transmit

Does anyone have any experiences with display cards supporting Adobe Mercury Transmit they can share?  I'm looking to acquire one and would appreciate everyone's feedback.  I've looked at Black Magic Decklink / Intensity, Matrox MXO2 and AJA, but would like to hear from anyone who has tried any others as well.
    Thanks,
    Tery

I am using the Black Magic Decklink Studio and it seems to work fine. It is worth remembering that, unlike using 5.5, you have to set the playback resolotion to full and the fields displayed to both to get a good interlaced picture. This is using the latest BMD driver.

  • Trouble NetBooting Xserve G5 with PCI RAID Card

Has anyone else had problems NetBooting Xserve G5 with the PCI RAID card installed?
I've got a Dual 2.0 GHz and Dual 2.3 GHz Xserve G5 that both can't seem to NetBoot consistently. On the very odd occasion they do netboot but not very oftern. When you set the NetBoot volume from the Startup Disk system preference and reboot, they just fail to boot and eventually their fans go crazy.
I have other Xserve G5s that NetBoot just fine. I've tried different network cables and swapping switch ports with Xserves that work, but it hasn't helped.
Could it be something on the NetBoot server?
Looking at the system log on the NetBoot server you can see the "bootpd" request from the booting server. I don't have a graphics card install in the Xserves being NetBooted so don't know what's being displayed on the server's console.
The NetBoot server is an Intel-based Xserve (Late 2006) running 10.4.11.

that seems to be the next step here: find or purchase a new card to test the existing drives.
i had wondered if these cards aren't compatible with the 750 gb drives. does anyone know?
also, would a bad battery cause such craziness? does the battery keep read/write cache data on the 64mb on-card memory for just this purpose? i haven't found much documentation on the apple branded cards.
    thanks for your help.

  • Apple Cinema Display 23-inch with PCI graphics card on a PC...?

My wife has a Dell Dimension 2400 PC along with a Mac G4. The Mac will obviously drive the 23-inch display with no problem, but the PC has on-board graphics which are awful. The only improvement is via a PCI graphics card, and a KVM switch (using the DVI interface on both Mac and PC). Does anyone know of an inexpensive PCI graphics card which will cope with the 23-inch display? Gaming is not on the list of priorities, but page layouts for posters and small (8-page) brochures is what it's needed for.
The Dell's operating suystem is XP Professional, and the G4's is Tiger. Thanks for any help.
    Chris

    I got the blue&white G3 w SDRAM/6GB.
    do you think http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DC1P8VA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1& smid=A1EF9OE38VX40W
will solve this? I believe I need a DVI-D female to VGA male adapter?
That adapter is for connecting a VGA display to a computer's DVI port.
If your computer has the ATI Rage 128 graphics card it will have one DVI port and one VGA port.  It won't run both ports simultaneously.
If the display has a DVI plug, plug it into the computer's DVI port.  No special cable or adapter is needed, but the computer may not support the resolution of the 23".
If the display uses ADC (Apple Display Connector)
    <http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/09/AppleDisplayConnector.j pg/220px-AppleDisplayConnector.jpg>
you will also need a DVI to ADC adapter

  • Need a Esata or USB 3.0 PCI-E card that supports Server 2012. ANY card.

I can't find any card that supports Server 2012 yet, but I really need to transfer and move 2-3TB of data on a weekly basis.  USB 2.0 + external drive is too slow.  Any other solutions I'm over looking?
I'd like to get a Esata 6ghz and a few Esata Externals.  USB 3.0 is an option if I can't find Esata, although It's slower than I'd like.
    I'm open to any ideas.

I ended up getting two of these:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815201051
Below is the review I wrote on newegg.com about the product.
Pros: Contacted Koutech (and 5 other companies) asking what eSATA and USB 3.0 cards they had that would work in Windows Server 2012. A support tech responded that same day. Every other company still hasn't responded 2 months later. The rep said
he hasn't tested any of their cards in Server 2012, but he would start testing and give me a product list in 2 days.
He did exactly that. In less than 2 days I had a list of 18 different PCI-E cards that worked in Server 2012.
I ordered two of these cards (PEU437) for my Dell Servers (T620, & T710).
I have installed the card in the T620 Server, and the card did require the 15 pin SATA power cable in order to work properly (Instructions make it sound optional). My server didn't have any extra 15 pin SATA power cables, I had to buy a 15 pin SATA extension
cable and daisy chain off the SATA CD-ROM drive, but it works just fine.
I'm transferring at speeds over 170mb/s (which is the fastest I've seen on usb 3.0 thus far) My M18X, and MacBook Pro usb 3.0 seem to cap around 100mb/s. I'm going to attribute the extra speed to the ridiculous raid set up, and H710 controller card as I've
done file replication well over 1gb/s.
All in all, the product is working exactly as described, and tech support was amazing from Koutech.
I will definitely purchase future PCI-E cards from them.
And of course NewEgg pricing and delivery speed was top notch.
Cons: Directions were slightly misleading. I interpreted them as saying the 15 pin SATA power connection were "optional" for USB drives that didn't have their own power source.
Windows Server 2012 did see the PCI-E card with out the 15 pin SATA power connection hooked up, but it wouldn't acknowledge any USB External HDD, even if it had it's own power source.
In most cases this isn't an issue, desktop workstations usually have an abundance of 15 pin SATA power sources... however my Servers didn't have any. I had to daisy chain off of my SATA DVD-ROM drive. The Cable wasn't long enough, so a 12" extension cables
was needed, which I got off newegg for under 9 dollars each.
Minor issue, and acceptable. Directions should be more clear, but that's a technology limitation not a design flaw.
Other Thoughts: I did a Bare Metal Server Backup of slightly over 1TB of data in 1 hour and 42 minutes. A vast improvement over USB 2.0.

  • Does the UCS C-Series Servers supports PCI/e card digium T1/E1

    Hello,
    Does the UCS C-Series Servers supports/compatible with PCI/e card digium  TE407P/TE420 T1/E1.?
The server will be used as Asterisk server.
    Thanks
    Philip

    Hi Philip,
Compatibility will depend on the server model that you have and whether the digium card is a full length, low profile, or half length pcie card.  Take a look at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10493/prod_models_comparison.html#~tab-a for details.  If there are any issues with the card itself once it is installed it will have to go through the 3rd party manufacturer.

  • Does NI-DAQ version 4.8x or 4.9x support the NI PCI-6503 card?

NI-DAQ 6.6 does not support Superlab, an application we use. Superlab says to use NI-DAQ 4.8 or 4.9. Does NI-DAQ 4.8 or 4.9 support the PCI-6503 card?

No, you will need NI-DAQ version 5.0.5 or greater to use with the PCI-6503 board. (Version 6.9.1 is suggested however.) I would contact the providers of Superlab to see if they have an upgrade.
If you are looking to do data acquisition programming, I would suggest looking into LabVIEW.

  • HP Envy H8-1540t - dual graphics cards, Pcie 3.0 support

I have 2 questions about using dual graphics cards and Pcie 3.0 support in my machine.
    The machine is:
    HP Envy H8-1540t
    Win 8 64
    i7-3820 2nd Gen
    10 GB DDR3 1600
    256 GB SSD
1 TB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive
    Blu-Ray Player
    TV Tuner
Prem wireless N-Lan and Blutooth 2x2
    600 Watt PSU
    NVidia GTX 660
    This machine uses the Pegatron IPIWB-PB motherboard and has 2 Pcie x 16 slots. I realize that by using dual width GPU's like the GTX 660, the smaller Pcie slots next to them will be buried, rendering them useless. So these are my 2 questions;
1.) Will 2 Nvidia GTX 660 GPU's physically fit within the machine and be supported?
2.)  Does this motherboard with it's Intel X79 chipset support Pcie 3.0?
    Thank You
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
You can find ALL information on the following OFFICIAL link, looks like it only supports PCIe Gen 2.0
       http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03132964#N241
From the image of the motherboard (above) and the following image of the GTX 660, simple answer: 2 cards won't physically fit.

  • Does NI DAQmx driver support PCI 6527 Card

In my application i am using PCI 6527 Isolated DIO Card. In the examples from LabVIEW 7.0, i refered the following VIs
    1. Write Dig Chan.vi
    2. Write Dig Port.vi
    using DAQ 7 Driver.
There it gives a list of devices that can run these examples. The list does not contains PCI 6527.
Can I use DAQmx Example VIs with PCI 6527 Card?
Please suggest me what driver to use with 6527 Card (Traditional DAQ or DAQmx).

    Hello partners,
I'm using NI DAQmx 9.7 in a machine hosting a Windows 7, but always when I tried to run the application I got this error.:
CAN'T LOCATE THE DRIVER ERROR 10240
Does you have any idea why could I'm facing this problem ? Previously I was using the original driver NI DAQ 7.4.4 (Legacy) in a machine hosting a Windows XP.
Other point perhaps here isn't the best place to start this new post, but I couldn't find how to post a new topic on the site.. My apologies, i'm waiting for any solution or advice

  • Windows 7 - Pci-to-Pci Bridge (Error: Code 10) - PCI Video Card

Before I state my issues I will list what I'm running and what I'm trying to accomplish.
I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit edition, not the Beta or RC. I have 3 video cards in my possession (listed below).
    - (PCIe) Evga GTX260
    - (PCI) Evga 9400GT
    - (PCI) Evga Fx5500
Out of those 3 cards I only use the GTX260 and the 9400GT. I had to 'retire' the Fx5500 because the latest WHQL (certified) drivers only provide support as far down as the "6 series" Nvidia cards. Unfortunately the Fx5500 is a "5 series" and falls below that line. I have already tried to use the GTX260 and Fx5500 in previous versions of Windows (XP and Vista), but there is no way to download and install two separate drivers for two of the same make of video card - you'll get nothing but errors. There is the option of going to a place like guru3d.com and downloading a custom supported driver that covers both the GTX260 and Fx5500, but the drivers are not certified and lack support. Therefore, I purchased and now use the 9400GT which is covered under the drivers for the GTX260 and eliminates the need for messing around with custom drivers. Also, the 9400GT has a better graphics processor and more memory than the Fx5500, so it was time to upgrade anyway.
Now that you have some background info here is my issue Whenever I install the 9400GT I get a second 'pci-to-pci bridge' entry (the other entry has no errors) that shows up under 'System Devices' in the Device Manager. The second pci-to-pci bridge entry has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it that refers to a problem. When you check the properties of this device it more or less says that Windows has detected a problem (Error Code 10). The GTX260 still works and even shows up under the 'Display Adapters' as a GTX260, but no entry for the 9400GT exists. I have tried the 9400GT in both PCI slots and each time it does the same thing. If I pull out the GTX260 and ONLY run the 9400GT, I still get the pci-to-pci bridge issue, BUT I do get a picture and can boot into Windows 7 without a hitch. When I do this there is still nothing listed under the 'Display Adapters' as a 9400GT or even a VGA compatible device.
After messing around with this for 10 hours (yes, I said 10 hours) I decided to dig out my retired PCI video card (the Fx5500). When I installed this card I had no 2nd pci-to-pci bridge entry appear under 'System Devices', and the one that was listed had no yellow triangle or error codes. I then checked under 'Display Adapters' and Windows 7 had recognized it as a VGA compatible device and was asking for drivers.
I have now concluded that there is definitely no issue with the motherboard or any of my hardware (including video cards). At first EVGA Support and I had suspected that the motherboard may be bad because of all of the pre-diagnostic steps I had taken during my 10 hour ordeal. I'm not going to list everything I did because it would literally take 3 hours to type it all in. Just believe me when I say that I have tried most things including but not limited to the latest bios updates (flashed 4 times and completely reset to ensure accuracy), custom IRQ management, entire OS re-installation X2, multiple/latest chipset drivers installed, multiple/latest video drivers installed, memtest testing, complete hardware teardown and re-build (adding one device at a time), and MUCH more. The only thing I did not try was installing a different OS other than Windows 7 64-bit to see if I could replicate the issue. This is a waste of time though because lets say that I install Windows XP Pro and the 9400GT doesn't have this issue... Well, that's great, but who gives a damn about XP Pro when I have been using it for the last 9 years and when I have a full version of Windows 7 that I want to use? I'm certainly not going to run XP Pro over Windows 7 just to use this PCI video card. Second, if I install XP Pro and it still gives me the same pci-to-pci bridge error then again, I've only wasted more time because if its not going to work in either OS then Im sure as hell not going to leave XP Pro installed when I can use Windows 7.
    Thanks,
    piyush

Maybe stupid question now but has your posting anything to do with Toshiba and Toshiba notebooks?

  • USB PCI-Express Card half working???

    I just purchased and installed a SYBA PCI-Express USB 2.0 5 Ports Controller Card (Model SD-PEX-NEC5U) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186010&Tpk=SD-PEX-NEC5U
I think it's half-way working. I did some researching prior to my purchase and I was under the impression that the Mac Pro (2006) could accept any PCI-express card. I have my Kensington USB bluetooth adapter plugged in (to the internal port) and it powers the adapter light and both my wireless mouse and wireless keyboard work perfectly. However any of the devices I plugged into the rear 4 ports are not working... (ie my Western Digital 1 TB hard drive that has 2 partitions on - one for Time machine backups and one for regular storage)
According to the Syba website, Mac OSX is not listed as a supported OS. The card came with a drivers disc but doesn't have any Syba drivers on it... tons of other manufacturers.
Can anyone offer advice about installing drivers or "adding hardware" (a la Windows)? Again, it's working with my bluetooth... so whats up with my hard drive?

A safe place to check and start your research is OWC.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/add-ons-and-hubs/pci-pcmcia-cards
As for MyBook - they can be iffy; if a drive fails, it is built into the case, so I prefer to buy cases with USB/FW and that you can install a drive yourself, even if comes with one.
USB: when there is FireWire and you can easily add SATA PCIe, yes they cost more but then they can drive multiple drives at full performance too.
When you buy generic cards, see if they use the same chipset as found in Sonnet Allegro and others.
    Then check
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ for reports in their upgrade database and articles.
And no, it requires PCIe, but not just any (and even PC with Windows 7, some cards can also be problem).

I am wanting to install an upgrade to Vista 64 bit on my Macbook. I have looked in the install guide and it states to only install 32 bit versions, but I have found that later than early '08 versions of MBPs can install 64 bit Vista. To my knowledge,
