XServe Drive Failed, replacement not being added

Have an XServe running 10.6 with three bays, configred as RAID5, SATA drives.  One drive failed.  We swapped it out and the new drive appears in the RAID Utility and he documentation says it should automatically be incorporated into the set, but it isn't. The set still appears as Degraded. The drive says SMART is Unsupported even though it is an SATA drive of the same size. Everything else looks the same as the other drives so we can't figure out why it's not being used. We're thinking (hoping) a server reboot will kick start things, but shouldn't hot swappable mean you don't have to do this?

Rebooting made SMART status change to "Verified".  Re-ejected and reinserted replacement drive and tried Verify RAID Set and got the following in the log (drive in bay 2 is what died):

  • Drive fail / replace / reinstall itunes library and lots missing

    My Hard drive failed on my 7 month old air. Was replaced by Apple, no problem.  I am now going through the process of reinstalling everything from my backup drive. My itunes Library sits on a external drive, and has been great.  Now when I go to install my iTunes library, I am missing some artists, a lot of artwork ( alot of what I listen to is not available in the itunes store, so many hours hunting that stuff down) most the metadata I had been adding to the albums / artists. Also play counts are missing.  Any ideas?  Thanks

    i would look into changing the directory that itunes uses for finding your music...do a search on the forums here under USING EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE, OR CHANGE MUSIC DIRECTORY. I have seen it on here when I was going to use an external myself.....Good Luck!

  • Contacts created on iPhone not being added to Address Book

    I want to sync all my Address Book contacts to the iPhone, which is working fine, but any contacts created on the iPhone are not copied to Address Book during syncing, which is rubbish.
    In iTunes I currently have 'All contacts' selected for sync. Am I overlooking some iPhone setting somewhere?

    I tried erasing all the phone data as you suggested, but to no effect whatsoever (apart from having to setup my email/wifi etc. all over again).
    There's definitely something strange going on with the iPhone -> Mac connection. iPhoto shows the iPhone as being connected, even when it's not, and is still showing 23 pictures, which is what was on the phone before I reset it (they are now gone from the phone). iPhoto also calls it 'Apple iPhone', while I've changed the name to something else.
    Calendar syncing is still functioning flawlessly, but contacts created on the phone are still not being transferred.
    What's more, the contacts I added to the iPhone before I reset all the data were still on the phone afterwards.

  • 5x promotional points are not being added

    I purchased a lg washer and dryer during the 5x points promotion in October and when the points were added the points were just the standard points, not the 5x points. I have contated eliteplus support many times about this issue and it is still not being corrected. I made a seperate purchase the same day of $11,000 and received those points correctly. Why am I not receiving my points???????

  • Particular section is not being added in Object.

    Hi All,
    I have tried to add a particular section in a particular object in stagging environment but the same section I have added in production,it is being able to add in that.
    Why does it happen so in production and why not in stagging.I have given the same setting in stagging also.Actually I am not able to find that section in My Setup.

    Question: By Section do you mean "Related Information Section" or a Section on the Parent Object link (Contact Information, Address Information etc...)
    If it's Related Information Section then then you could look at the below points
    The reason this could happen is that someone may have logged in with that user id and personalized it, by going to "Edit Layout" on that Object's Detail Page. There will be 3 links below the Web Tabs. Click the "Edit Layout".

  • Windows Network Drive Mapping properties not being associated with Test Stand deployment

    I recently upgraded a TestStand/LabVIEW (Developer Suite 2012 DS1) deployment project from a Windows XP Pro OS to Windows 7 Enterprise. Now, when I run the Test Stand deployment, Network paths that used to be hard coded into my File Globals are no longer recognized. I re-wrote the vi's, and put "File Dialog" pop-ups so that I could see what path the control is being opened up at, and what appears to be happening is the Network Drive that I am defaulted to is appearing as if it is "disconnected" in the navigation window, and the path is defaulted to my root directory. I can navigate out to my network path no problem from the navigation window, and after the first time I perform this user action, subsequent executions open up to the path I have hard coded in my Sequence File Globals. However, if I reboot my host computer, I again have to go through the exercise of manually pointing to the proper network location? If I use the Windows Explorer to check Mapped Networked Drives, everything is properly mapped and connected.
    Has anyone ever seen this behavior?

    I have not come across this problem before but here is a document from MSDN and one from NI which discuss file path conventions. From what I've seen, UNC is also accepted under Windows XP so I would advise using it for your file globals.

  • Hard drive failing will not back up

    My hard drive is failing and time machine is failing to back up everything that I have to an external hard drive.  Is there any sort of recovery software available, I have pictures of my daughter that I do not want to lose.  Please help.

    If the drive is physically failing (ie, the mechanism is wearing out or damaged), not just corrupt, then it's entirely possible that very little will be recoverable.  Unfortunately, waiting to back it up until after it starts to fail is a very dangerous thing to do.
    Disk Warrior will help if the drive is just corrupt.  Depending on how severe the corruption, you may recover everything or some files may already be lost.  If Disk Warrior can't help, you could try a file recovery tool, like Data Rescue, File Salvage or Stellar Phoenix.  However, if the drive dies completely, which it could at any time, the only option left will be to send it off to a data recovery service, where they will take the drive apart and use special equipment to recover whatever they can.  That will be expensive, but may be worth the cost to you.  I can't recommend any services, as I've never used one.
    In the future, make sure to maintain a good set of backups - a minimum of two separate backups of everything, on separate media - and you'll never need a data recovery service again.

  • Office 2010 DDE not being added to registry

    I have captured and done a test deployment of Office 2010 with SP1, everything works fine, activation (KMS using app-v toolkit), all the apps launch, the icons are all there, but...
    There is one application that is used that doesn't pick up the fact that Excel and Word are installed. The application is SIMS .Net (An education MIS system by Capita)
    Looking at the file type settings, .xls files are associated with the spoon-launcher app. Delving into the registry though, there are no DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) commands listed for any of the Office 2010 apps. I have compared this with the ThinApp version of Office 2010 that we previously used and that does include the DDE settings in the registry and enables SIMS .Net to work fine. There is only a single command listed, which points at the spoon-launcher.
    Looking at the capture for Office 2010 all the DDE commands for each file-type have been captured correctly. Registry values have been added to HKCU and HKLM. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT has no entries added though, they exist on the actual snapshotting PC though.
    When using spoonreg I have been doing
    spoonreg /allusers /cache Office-2010.exe
    Windows XP + SP3 (with windows updates) no other apps installed
    ZAV 9

    My guess is your going to have to add a "ProgID" under the MSI Setup section of ZAV. That is where I'd be exploring. What ProgID and extension combination needs setup. As noted in my other post...

    I had to include a ProgID that was in the captured registry information but wasn't being automatically brought into the MSI Setup section for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    Also about the classes root being blank. You probably want to look at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\. That is the same thing as Classes Root and ZAV just knows not to pull both of them in because that would just be duplicates. It shows as "Local machine root\SOFTWARE\Classes\" in ZAV. You can dig around in there to see if there are ProgIDs that were captured with the install but that need manually added to the MSI Setup area.

  • AR Credit Note not being added.

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to add a AR Credit Note based on a AR Invoice. The only thing that I change is the Warehouse code that the credit note should be credited to. The error that I receive is "Document cannot be added because the base document row was updated. Copy the document again from its base document. Message[439-197]".
    Can this be because of the warehouse code I changed? We change the warehouse code continuesly without error this is the first one.
    I'm on SBO 2007A SP00 PL42.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Tuxera driver and tftp not being pushed out

    Hi all: I have three ZCM 11.2.3a servers running on OES2 SP3, one primary and two satellites. The satellites each live in a branch office connected via P2P T1's. Last week I installed the tuxera NTFS driver and have successfully set it up. I also pushed it out to one of are satellite servers (along with sync'ing tftp to that same server), but I cannot push out the driver nor sync tftp to the second satellite.
    Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks, Chris.

    Anders: Thanks for the reply. After some looking around and reading,
    I discovered that content replication was not running on the satellite
    server not receiving the tftp updates. I kicked replication off via
    command "zac cdp replicate" and that solved the problem.
    BUT, I also discovered the content replication is not working properly
    on that same satellite server. "zac cds" shown no schedule or throttle
    rate on that "broken" satellite server while on the satellite server
    that did receive the tftp files correctly shows a schedule and throttle
    rate. We define the schedule and throttle at the primary server level
    (default) and the satellites are set to use the default, so I am not
    sure what is broken.

  • Files not being added to an Apple hosted feed collection

    Main Issue: I created a collection using an apple hosted feed, added 12 new items, but it still says I have 0 items in the collections dashboard so am not able to publish the new collection.
    Yesterday I added two files to an existing collection, but today they still do not show-up even in the preview mode.
    Today I created a new collection and added 12 items (.mp4 & .mov), but the number of items shows 0, so I am not able to publish the new collection.

    Looking though the discussions it looks like some others are experiencing the same issue since May 10 (https://discussions.apple.com/message/22011781#22011781). Has anyone experienced this or have a solution. Do you know if it is something on our end, or on Apple's?

    I think it is Apple's issue. I ever came across the same problem several days ago. Apple says it takes up to 24 hours to refresh the new items added. But one day later I can't see my new item on iTunes U live site, even preview site.
    Later I re-uploaded the same video and clicked the "Refresh" button. About 2-3 hours the item shows up.
    Not sure the "Refresh" or Apple server get it work.

  • (bug) Songs are not being added to my playlist

    I've been having an incredibly frustrating bug on my computer recently (windows). Basically some songs i add just won't enter the playlist. As of now i have 3 playlists, playlist A, B & C. Most times i can add songs to playlist B and C, but i can't add any songs to playlist A unless i log in and out of the client. It's incredibly frustrating because sometimes i find a playlist or an album i really like, i listen through it & add the songs i like only to find out they haven't been added once i return to the playlist later. Yes, I am 100% that it's a bug and not me accidently adding it to a different playlist. Right now i'm adding a song to the playlist but it just doesn't get added. If i click "add" multiple times it doesn't give me any warning about duplicates either since the song never gets added. I've tried adding from everything; a new playlist, the artists page, the original playlist, nothing. Now i need to relog everytime i add a new song and it's making spotify very hard for me to use.

    you still need to authorise your computer though. in the advanced menu, select authorise computer.

  • Voice memos in iTunes not being added to iPod

    The Apple store told me to get rid of a bug on my iPod to set it up as a new iPod and not restore it from a backup since it was most likely a software issue and not hardware (music was skipping randomly even when not on shake to shuffle).  Everything is fine now except that I cannot get my old voice memos back on my iPod Touch4G.  They are in iTunes and before I sync I makes sure the "include voice memos" is checked, but it still does not work.  Any suggestions on how to get these back on my iPod?  Thanks.

  • One username and password not being added to keychain

    I have entered a username and password for a webpage and answered yes when asked it I wanted this saved it to my keychain.
    However I can not find the u/n and pass word in my keychain (Safari>Preferences>Passwords) and this u/n and pw is not shared with my other devices.  All my other u/n and pw are in my keychain and are shared with all my other devices.
    Can I manually add a u/n and pw to my keychain?

    I did previously have "Private Browsing" selected and deselected that and that is when I could set up FF with my username and pw but could not on Wells Fargo. So, I did what you suggested and that was to delete cookies because that seemed like a good reason but alas, it still will not give me the option to set up the username/pw.
    I would not be surprised if it is Wells Fargo, they are a bit of a pain. You cannot even save them in Bookmarks because I was told they are constantly making changes to their site and this stops the bookmark from working.
