Xsp-n1bt - used with tablet instead of a phone

I installed an xsp-n1bt in my 2002 bmw 525i.  Instead of using my phone, I'm using a Nexus 7 tablet.  For now, using velcro to hold it in place.  So here are my issues:
Bluetooth:  I want to use bluetooth with my phone.  there are three modes available: Phone Audio, Media Audio and input device.  If I turn off phone audio, it will work with my regular phone, however then bluetooth will not connect automatically (I have to turn it off and back on, on the tablet).  This is annoying.  It should be able to use phone bluetooth with multiple phones in the car
App Remote:  Need a clock on all the screens NOT just the taskbar clock which is too small.  If I want to use google maps or waze, I can't hear the audio.  Normally (on any phone) the maps audio will interrupt the music.  I'd like to have any app i need while driving on the app remote screen.  I know I can put apps like google maps on the App remote screen, but then I can't listen to music while navigating
Are there any firmware updates coming for the radio or any new versons of app remote in the works?  Any beta testing?
Charlie...

Hello Charlie! Playback will automatically resume after a moment or two once a phone call has ended. Some Bluetooth® audio devices will turn off automatically after a certain period of time if there is no Bluetooth connection. Avoid pressing any buttons as this is normal operation. However, if applicable to your unit, try the following steps to resolve any issues:
Press the Pause button twice to resume playback manually.
After the call, select the Bluetooth Audio as source of the car stereo then press the (6) button once or twice.
Turn the Bluetooth audio device back on and connect to the Bluetooth audio system manually.
NOTE: If using a mobile phone, depending on the specifications for the phone, playback may not resume. In that case, resume operation from the mobile phone instead.
Moreover, sound via Bluetooth (BT) from apps selected via APP remote is limited to the functionality of the app itself, see list of BT profiles. If those profiles are not supported via BT connection you won't get any sound through the APP REMOTE (see information below):
For Android® smartphone or tablet - for sound to be output, the smartphone or tablet that is connected to your car stereo must be able to support any of the following Bluetooth® profiles:
A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) 1.2
AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) 1.3
HFP (Handsfree Profile) 1.5
PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile)
OPP (Object Push Profile)
SPP (Serial Port Profile)

  • When using a tablet I'm getting phone view

I put my site on business Catalyst and when I view it with a tablet I get the phone view. I contacted support and they said its a bug and the team are working on it. I was told I would need to subscribe to the forums to wait for a fix and once it was fixed it would be announced in the forums and then I can upload my site and it will work, but they had no idea when it would be fixed. So I took my site down from business catalyst to wait for muse to have the functionality that was promised, because it seemed useless if it shows a blurred phone view when seen on a tablet.
At first I thought I'd just have to wait. Then I thought that can't be right a big global company like adobe. They can't have released software that's automatically supposed to redirect depending on your device but doesn't.  I have checked the boxes saying redirect in site properties so it redirects to tablet and phone.
I felt unsure so I contacted support again and they said the bug was just with the business catalyst website and if I upload my site to third party hosting it will be right. I was wondering if someone from Adobe could clarify the issue for me. If I don't test in business catalyst because it doesn't work and instead just upload it to my site will the redirects really be ok then?
I would rather have someone clarify the issue before I go live with my site.

Sites hosted on Business Catalyst and those hosted on other hosting providers use two completely different mechanisms for device detection. Sites hosted on BC refer to a "device database" to lookup whether a specific device is a phone or tablet. Sites hosted on other hosting use a snippet of JavaScript which looks at the dimensions of the screen and whether or not it's a touch screen.
In theory the device database approach should be superior, since whoever populates the database has the opportunity to make a judgement call on tablet/laptop hybrids and "phablet" phones and the decision of what to serve is made on the server, whereas the JavaScript approach looks solely at screen size and touch screen support. However, in practice the device database has proven expensive and difficult to keep up-to-date and the JavaScript approach fits site visitors expectations remarkably well.
My guess is the specific Samsung tablet and Kindle Fire devices you've checked are currently not in the device database and the nearest match is a phone.
When you do "Preview Site in Browser" within Muse what URL is displayed in your browser? If it's something other than 127.0.0.0 or localhost, and if the devices are on the same wireless network as your computer, then you should be able to enter that URL into the browsers on your devices. The code generated for Preview Site in Browser uses the JavaScript redirect, so if my theory is correct (the out-of-date/incomplete BC device database is the problem) the tablet layout should load on your tablets (and phone layout on any phones you try).
For the upcoming release of Muse, due out in a couple weeks (or less), there is an additional option in the Options section of the Publish dialog. The new option will enable you to choose whether to use the "Universal Redirect" (JavaScript) or the "Business Catalyst Redirect" (device database) when Publishing a site with more than one alternate layout to BC. I recommend you switch to the "Universal Redirect" and recheck your site on your devices.

  • Weight/dimensions of brand new wireless keyboard? Use with Nokia S60 3rd?

    Hi,
I am considering the new apple wireless keyboard (aluminium) to use with my Nokia N80 / N95 phones, but the exact specifications are nowhere to be found.
Can anyone tell me if it is:
    - compatible with the bluetooth HDI profile like the previous model?
    - how much it weighs?
    - what its dimensions are?
Has anyone, by any chance, tried using it with a Nokia S60 3rd edition phone like a nokia E series or N series?

    hi there,
yes, i can confirm the usage of the new bluetooth aluminium keyboard in conjunction with my nokia n95 via the 'wireless keyboard' -application which is located in the office-folder of the n95.
i got it paired with no problems and the usage itself is also perfect.
    best,

  • SPA112 use with Call Manager

We have used ATA 186 devices with our Call Manager system for use with fax machines and analog phones in a manufacturing environment.  I am hopeful that the SPA112 can be used as a lower cost alternative to the older ATAs.
I have searched for basic configuration information for use with Call Manager but haven't come across anything.
Can these devices be used with Call Manager and is there basic information available on how to configure them?
    Thanks.

The SPA112 is essentially the same as the Linksys PAP2t adapter.
They both use SIP protocol, and can be added to Callmanager, but I don't think the SPA112 is supported in this configuration.
I was able to get the SPA112 to work with CallManager by adding it as an Advanced SIP device.  That uses more licenses (6 I think).
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2082101
That details getting a Linksys PAP2 device working with CallManager 7.1
I got SPA112's working by using the info in that link.  You have to set it all up manually, but it does work.

  • CS3 using screen res instead of tablet res

    Hey,
I'm having a problem where Photoshop is using screen resolution, instead of tablet resolution, for getting the data used to render the line.  This is affecting my work because I do things in pretty high resolution, and I'll draw a line when zoomed out, then zoom in and it will have a pixely edge.  Well, it won't quite have a pixely edge, but it'll use the screen pixel data to figure out where to render the line.
I attached the image below to show what happens when I draw the same line at various zoom levels.

I'm using an Intuos3 with Photoshop CS3 Extended on Windows 7 Home  Premium.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks.

Might be a Windows 7 issue.

Install Portable Firefox 3.6.x to your hard drive for that one website. It won't affect your current Firefox installation at all. <br />

  • OBIEE: Incorrect SQL - with count function uses ORDER BY instead GROUP BY

I made a basic report that is a client count; I want to know how many clients the company have.
But, when I run this report, OBIEE generates a ORDER BY sentence, instead a GROUP BY. Remember that I'm using count function, that is a agregation.
    The SQL generated was:
    select 'N0' as c1,
    count(*) as c2
    from
    (select distinct T1416.CLIENT_INTER_KEY as c1
    from
    (select *
    from prd.D_SERVICE where SOURCE_SYS in ('ARBOR','PPB') and DW_SERV_ST_ID in (100000003,100000009)) T1836,
    (select *
    from prd.D_CLIENT) T1416,
    (select *
    from prd.D_CUSTOMER_ACCOUNT where SOURCE_SYS In ('ARBOR','PPB')) T1515
    where ( T1416.DW_CLIENT_ID = T1515.DW_CLIENT_ID and T1515.DW_CUST_ACCT_ID = T1836.DW_CUST_ACCT_ID and T1836.MSISDN = '917330340' )
    ) D1
    order by c1
The error that I receive is:
"Query Status: Query Failed: [nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: S1000 code: -1005018 message: [Sybase][ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Anywhere]Illegal ORDER BY item Order Item: 'N0',
    -- (opt_OrderBy.cxx 429) .
[nQSError: 16011] ODBC error occurred while executing SQLExtendedFetch to retrieve the results of a SQL statement."
If I substitute ORDER BY with GROUP BY and test it in Sybase, Ithe query runs without any problem.
    select 'N0' as c1,
    count(*) as c2
    from
    (select distinct T1416.CLIENT_INTER_KEY as c1
    from
    (select *
    from prd.D_SERVICE where SOURCE_SYS in ('ARBOR','PPB') and DW_SERV_ST_ID in (100000003,100000009)) T1836,

    ) D1
    group by c1
Do you know why OBIEE generates this SQL??? Why uses, with a aggregation function, a ORDER BY and not a GROUP BY? How can I resolve this problem???
    Regards,
    Susana Figueiredo

Verify your repository design and make sure that you have defined count aggregate on fact column. You would also need to define the content level of each dimension in fact table.

  • When to use abstract classes instead of interfaces with extension methods in C#?

"Abstract class" and "interface" are similar concepts, with interface being the more abstract of the two. One differentiating factor is that abstract classes provide method implementations for derived classes when needed. In C#, however,
this differentiating factor has been reduced by the recent introduction of extension methods, which enable implementations to be provided for interface methods. Another differentiating factor is that a class can inherit only one abstract class (i.e., there
is no multiple inheritance), but it can implement multiple interfaces. This makes interfaces less restrictive and more flexible. So, in C#, when should we use abstract classes
instead of interfaces with extension methods?
A notable example of the interface + extension method model is LINQ, where query functionality is provided for any type that implements IEnumerable via
    a multitude of extension methods.

    Hi
Well I believe Interfaces have more uses in software design. You could decouple your component implementing against interfaces so that
you have more flexibility on changing your code with less risk. Like Inversion of Control patterns where you can use interfaces and then when you decide you can change the concrete implementation that you want to use. Or other uses for interfaces is you could
    use Interceptors using interfaces (Unity
Interceptor) to do different things where not all of these is feasible or at least as straightforward using abstract classes.

  • Using a Tablet with Infinity

    Hello Community,
At the ripe old age of 67 I am considering purchasing a tablet to complement my laptop at home.  I currently have BT Infinity Opt1 at home with black Hub3 I believe and would ask for help and information on the following.
I assume I will be able to use my tablet at home within a reasonable distance from the hub.  First out of the box, again, I presume the device will detect my hub's signal and link to it.  And lastly, will I be able to use it out-and-about away from the home hub.  I have heard the terminology "Hot Spots" but how do I know where they are and if I am near to one.
I hope I can link up with my original BT Broadband service with my tablet and not have to upgrade or find another provider to do the same job.
I do not have agreat understanding of these things and would ask for your help on this matter which would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

    Welcome to this forum.
Yes, you can connect a tablet computer, there is a BT Guide here.

This only applies to Android tablets, which tend to be the most popular, as they are cheaper.

  • Photoshop continues crashing with tablet use

I've been having this problem for a little over a week now, with little to no solutions found.
CS3's been installed in my computer since 2011, and I've been using a Wacom Intuos4 tablet for almost as long. For a few years now, they've worked perfectly fine together, no problems whatsoever. About a week ago, Photoshop started crashing anywhere between 5-10 minutes into opening a file. At first I thought it was due to a recently downloaded brush, but I have since deleted and removed that abr file from my system, and the problem persists, no matter which file I use.
Thinking this was simply a problem with the version I was using, I downloaded CS2 from the Adobe site, but the problem remained. I've tried verifying and repairing disk utilities already (I have a mac), checking my RAM (which is in plenty, and was working fine for years, as I haven't made any major changes that would case it to be a problem), and resetting preferences upon opening the software. With none of that having worked, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my tablet driver (as PS only crashed when I was using the tablet), and that didn't do anything, either. Updating the driver to its most recent update only made it worse.
I no longer have the CD for CS3, and am afraid if I try uninstalling it, that I won't be able to get it back. However, that's the only solution I can see right now. Before I spend more money on either an upgraded Photoshop, tablet, or both, I was wondering if anyone else might know what could be causing this? I have all my crash reports saved if they're needed, but have no idea where else I can turn with this problem, as I'm in no way tech-savvy, haha.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to help! (Specs and any more needed info can be given if needed.)

I'm not saying you should try a reinstall, but I just want to mention:
You can always get a download from Adobe via this means:
    http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html#more-5583
Make sure you follow the instructions to the letter.  I'd suggest downloading and burning a disc as a backup to replace your lost CD.  That, with your serial number, will allow you to reinstall the product.

  • Need tablet recommendation for use with CS6 and a Mac Mini

    Hello all,
I'm running CS6 on a Mac MIni with OS X 10.8.3.  I want to start learning graphic design entry on Illustrator and Photoshop and all I've read indicates use of a tablet is de rigueur.  Can anyone recommend a medium to top-end tablet that is compatible with the Mac Mini and CS6?  Apple's site only shows the Wacom Bamboo Splash tablet but doesn't give any hint whether it would work with the Adobe tools.
    Thanks,
    Kevin H.

Actually it depends on how you like to work and what exactly you're after.
Illustrator can be used with a mouse only when you do just construction work, like using the shape tools, the pen tool, pathfinder functions, transformations and all those other tools that serve the need for exact results.
In case you'd like to draw stuff intuitively like doing water color, calligraphy,  sketching then you would definitely need a tablet.
A tablet can also replace a mouse in case you want to reduce a strain on your hand, arm and fingers. Some people prefer styluses in this case.
Is any of these the case for you?

    Hi Stephan,
this solved placing both animation on one page.  Make sure all your fonts are called out in the <head> section like for example:
    <script>var __adobewebfontsappname__="dreamweaver"</script>
    <script src="http://use.edgefonts.net/quicksand:n3,n4:default.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
Dreamweaver does this automatic for you.  If you are having a font conflict I recommend under command  (if you are using dreamweaver)
Clean up the font Tag and add only the ones that you are using again,  sometimes they accumulate.
    Good Luck.
