Xsu12.jar and '...could not be resolved'

On an NT machine, running 8.1.7 I have gotten XSU12 installed and operational, however on a Solaris machine running 8.1.6 I am unable to get the xsu12.jar loaded properly.
Starting with OracleXMLStaticSave and onward get the dreaded ORA-29534 ...could not be resolved, errors.
I have modified the env.csh file to point to the right things, establishing the CLASSPATH to include classes12.zip - 8.1.6 came with that in it. Any ideas on what I'm missing? It works so cool on my NT test box and I'm getting fairly beaten down with the trouble I'm having in unix...

Chosen font and font encodings differ & could not be resolved editing problem

Can anyone advise how I can edit text in a document I received? The document was generated by Ghostscript.
When attempting to edit text, a message says, All or part of the selection has no available system font. You cannot add or delete text using the currently selected font.
When I try to alter the font through Touchup Properties, the error message says, The change to a different font was not done because the chosen font and the font encodings in the document differ and could not be resolved.
I use Adobe Acrobat Standard, version 7.0. Is this problem solved in versions 8 or 9?

This IS an Acrobat problem, as they should have anticipated this problem and created a way around it (fall back to a more common font, for example).
The work-around is to copy the text, create a rectangle with a white fill color, then place it on top of the text in Acrobat to cover it up. Paste in the text using whatever font you wanted.

I have created a content source in Search service application for a particular site collection "http://spwebapp/sites".
I performed reset crawl index of Search service application and then performed a full crawl.
But i get errors on running crawl on this content source for most of the files. The error is "The server is unavailable and could not be accessed. The server is probably disconnected from the network." Though the site is accessible.
But before performing reset index the crawl was working fine on this content source. Crawl is working fine for other site collections. Only one site collection is facing this problem. Please let me know if what I can do to resolve this error.

Are you seeing any error messages in the URL related to the Gatherer? And in your content source, are there any site URLs that are no longer active or do you have any crawl rules set up that might be affecting access to the site collection?
I've seen this happen for a variety of reason, SSL issues, proxy issues, permissions issues. The Eventvwr and ULS logs should help you narrow down the real problem.
Sometimes this is an issue because the indexer and the site are sitting on the same box, you could try doing a disable loopback check to see if that resolves the issue and if it does then go through the hassle of setting up a specific LSA :

"The file is damaged and could not be repaired" error when trying to open a PDF in Reader

A few of our employess (only 3 out of over 100 so far) have been getting the error, "The file is damaged and could not be repaired" when trying to open some PDFs. Other people are able to open the same PDF files with no error. It's happening on about 10% of the time. I've read a bunch of threads here with this isue and tried some suggested fixes and nothing has resolved the issue. Here is what I have found works and does not work and the info on their computers:
Computers:
1 Dell Vostro desktop running WIndows 7
1 Toshiba Satellite C55 runnign Windows 8
1 Samsung ATIV Book 4 running Windows 8
All using Adobe Reader XI but we did uninstall that version and tried previous versions and still got the error.
Did Not Work:
As suggested by the company that we use online for claims adjustments where this error is occuring, we tried using a different PDF creator since the files were created using a free PDF creator by the employees. PDF995 and PDFcreator (pdfforge) did not resolve the issue. I then created the PDFs with my Adobe Acrobat, uploaded from my computer to the online program, and that did not resolve the issue.
Saving the file to hard drive and then opening in Adobe did not work.
Turning off Protected Mode and Enhanced Security did not work.
Compatibility View settings enabled in Internet Explorer 10 did not resolve the issue. The previously mentioned claims adjustment software company we use online was code for IE so is not fully compatible with other browsers.
That being said I did try to open the PDF files in Chrome and it also did not work. Same error message.
Does work:
I download the file they cannot open onto my hard drive, open in Adobe Acrobat, Save as a pdf, then email it to them and they can open it via email attachment.
If they close the error and continue trying to open the file over and over sometimes it will eventually open.
Is there a setting in Windows that is preventing them from opening a small % of files some of the time? Thanks in advance for any help!

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

Failed to verify gateway status. The remote name could not be resolved: 'machinename' Office 365, Power BI

I am trying to setup a Power BI On Premise datasource at a client site.
I successfully installed the Data Management Gateway (DataManagementGateway_1.2.5303.1_en-us (64-bit)) software on a Windows Server 2012 box and created the Gateway on the Power BI Office 365 site.
The Gateway is running correctly with no errors. When trying to setup the Datasource I get an error. As soon as I try to set the credentials the following message appears.
Failed to verify gateway 'GatewayName' status. The remote name could not be resolved: 'servername.domainname.net’
The servername which is returned in the error message is exactly the name which the DMG was installed on.
There is a firewall in place with a proxy server and I don't know if this might cause the problems. The
following website suggests adding the proxy settings in the config files of the DMG but this did not solve the problem.
The above setup process works perfectly when running the DMG from my laptop, connecting to a Gateway and creating a DataSource connecting to SQL Server.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I resolved the issue in the mean time. I was on laptop which does not belong to the domain.
When setting up the datasource you should be on the same domain as the datasource as per the below post.

The Send is actually just the name of the operation in Orchestration and it does not exist in SAP. Hence, do I really need to have the SOAP header in WCF-SAP adapter or can I send the IDOC without any SOAP header info? When I try to send without

You need to get a new copy of the PDF.

Pro 9 Users Receive "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

Users with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (Windows XP) are not able to open PDFs created on the server. They receive the error message:
“There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.”
Even if the users save to disk and try to re-open, the error still occurs.
This error did not surface in our QA testing because we were testing with Adobe Acrobat Reader 8. What can the difference be? Is there additional information that I can look for in order to troubleshoot this?

So, I'm not sure how much this will help but if you save the pdf AHW_Test_05112009xx.pdf and open it in a text editor, and go all the way down to the bottom where the %%EOF marker is, it looks as if the html page is getting appended to the end of the pdf. I recieved the "This file was damaged..." error in Adobe 7.1.0 when trying to open it but if you remove the html at the end, it opens up just fine.
It appears that whatever's appending the html to the end is causing the issue.
Below is what the file looks like near the end after the EOF:

I have got 3 mac computers. 2011 13 inch air, 27 inch mac and 2010 pro. latest softwares. all of them have a problem in opening pdf files;esp older files. the error message comes up 'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.'
I have reinstalled reader, checked software updates etc.
Any help will be appreciated

It isn't likely to be a problem with the software. You have two different applications which have no interaction between them, neither of which can open the same group of files on three different systems. It's possible that one application has a problem, but not both or that one system has a problem, but not all three. Typically if there were software corruption, it would not show as a failure to open a specific type of file, but in opening and running the application itself.
I realise that that doesn't really help you since it doesn't resolve the poblem, but I think you need to start with a known-good pdf, preferably one you can download from an internet source, and see whether that opens. If it does, then it would confirm that the software is working properly.
For a known-good PDF to download, try one of the manuals from the support site here.

I sent an email to TerraGo Support and they sent the following response: "This has bug has been discovered and our development team is quickly creating a patch to resolve the problem. The patch should be available within a week or two. For your reference, the bug number assigned to this case is: 3620. Check back in about two weeks and hopefully the patch will be available. The UML Package model could not be resolved - SOLVED

I am using Perforce with JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0. I have imported a project into Perforce on one machine, then 'p4 sync -f' on another machine. I then created a new application on this machine and added the projects to it. Now, when I try to open a diagram in package 'model', it gives this message:
The UML Package model could not be resolved
The element may have been moved or deleted from the file system, or the Model path, source path or classpath may be incomplete. This error can also occur when the element was found, but errors in its definition prevented it from being loaded. Examine the error stack for further information on the exact cause.
It also looks as if certain other files in the other projects are missing - it looks like a problem with the Perforce extension to me, or is it because I do it wrong?

It gets stranger and stranger, I think.
As I told, I imported the project into Perforce, to a directory called /dtl/admintools, and found that I could still open all files - I did find that one file was missing (/dtl/adminstools/sysadm/SysAdm.jws), so I added it to Perforce. I then removed everything under /dtl/admintools and sync-ed it out from Perforce on the same machine - it still worked fine.
I then went to my home computer and did the same thing (over a VPN) and checked that I had received all the files, which I had. I then tried to open /dtl/admintools/sysadm/Model/model/model/SysAdmDiagram.oxd_bc4j, which contains entity- and view objects - this give the error message. I can see all the objects listed in the structure list, but if I try to open any of them, I get the same message. There are no error messages other than the one that pops up.
Both my workplace computer and my home one are AMD 64 machines running Gentoo Linux and it's the same version of JDeveloper too.

When I boot Solaris 10 on an x86 machine I receive the following message:
"console login: Syslogd: line 24: WARNING: loghost could not be resolved."
Would someone please assist in this matter. Thank you.

It does exactley what it says on the tin.
The log host could not be resolved!. In english solaris is looking fot the machine that you have setup as the loghost(usally a remote machine), and cannot find it. :)
