Xtreme Audio, Xtreme Music the sa

I've been looking at this site for a minute now and it seems like Xtreme Audio and Xtreme Music are the same. Correct me if I'm wrong. If I am wrong, does Xtreme Audio (the one that's on sale) come with the Audio Creation / Mixer Software?

It's OK for some recording, not the best option if its sole purpose is recording. XM, XG and XA only have one line-in that shares the jack with the digital out. If you already upgraded to Vista it's better to wait until the X-Fi WHQL drivers are released (ETA March 9th) to see how they fare. XM does work in Vista but the current beta drivers offer basic functionality (which is almost equal to XA's full functionality) and have some quirks.

Poor X-FI Xtreme Music sound quality due to speake

I purchased a X-FI Xtreme music the other day, poped her in, and she sounded beautiful. That is until a couple days ago, when some songs I play having static sound (games run alot better now, because I was running a SB Li've! 24 BIt, it used alot of CPU). The main reason I love this card so much is because of the lightened load on my CPU, and because games sound so much better now. Problem is some of my music sounds like it has static fuzz in it, where other songs sound perfectly normal. Im wondering if it is my sound card, my speakers (I have TomMade 2. speakers, have had em for about 8 months, so they are getting old, cost me about 80 bucks Canadian when I got them) or the song file itself (because some songs sound normal, or perhaps the instruments are just so loud I cant hear the static). I dont know if it might be my speakers because they are old. And as for wonderng if its the sound file itself, the one song I hear it big time on is a quiet song at the start, but with some instrumental, and I hear static big time. Other songs are louder, and I dont know if i can hear the static or not. Coming from my SB LIve! 24 Bit, games sound better on my X-Fi, but I have to say that songs probably sound better on my SB Li've!. I didnt really notice alot of static on my old card, but maybe I just wasnt paying attention. Is there anyway I can be sure of what the problem is?
Another question but off topic, with my old card's software, I could change my output to 96 Hz. With the new software I can change digital output to 96, but Im not running digital speakers, I have analog (im guessing thats the SPDIF input settings under audio console) but if I go there, the SPDIF box is greyed out saying default. Perhaps the sound quality is lessened because the card thinks Im running digital?

96khz output is in thx console on the tab speaker selection and the heading "digital output sampling frequency" if you don't have then somethings gone wrong somewhere.
I can assure you though having 96 khz output will not make any difference to your sound its more likely that you have the other problem or static sound as you put it, that has not been fixed yet, this is what is likely to be degrading your sound not the digital output bit-rate. In fact in some cases setting it higher results in more static.
The static you get sounds like you have the the classic pops and crackles with the creative range of sound cards this has been going on for years, try reading the link I posted in my other post there are litterly thousands in the same boat as yourself.

No the driver were actually removed from the server yesterday. They are back today with a new release date (5march), but are actually the same drivers? Go figure?

hope u don't mind my English. I have learned it a long time ago, don't need it very often and the grammer was always my problem.
I know the patch works with a X-Fi Xtreme Music, but I am not sure about the UAA (what does this mean and do I need optical or coax out). I tried the titanium pcie before but then I have the skipping/lags effect like some others with Powerdvd9 Ultra as well. It seems that there is no workaround for this. I have no problems with my old X-Fi Xtreme Audio

SPDIF out has nothing to do with support. I have no idea what hte Xtreme Music UAA supports. I would imagine if it uses the DSP from the normal X-FI line, it would. If it uses the DSP from the Xtreme Audio, it won't.

I want to get a sound card for my PC. Currently I am using an in built Realtek sound card. I need the sound card for the purposes of recording vocal performances using karaoke backing tracks connecting a karaoke player to a mixer (connected to a studio condenser mic) which is connected to the line in input of the PC. I also need it to record vocal and acoustic guitar performances (guitar connected to the Behringer 202FX mixer). I don't know which sounblaster sound card is suitable for my need. At the moment my eyes are on xtreme music and xtreme audio but I don't know the difference. I know xtreme music has the audio creation feature (as well as the entertainment and gaming features) but I don't know if xtreme audio also has this audio creation feature. Does xtreme audio has a Graphical Interface Unit (GUI) which has an audio creation settings like in this Youtube video tutorial?

None. Stay away from creative as if have win7 you are burned. The cards will give you great problems as they do not have proper drivers. Most possibly you won't hear anything from your speakers.

X-Fi Xtreme Music - 7.1 audio for 2 channel aud

I'm using an X-Fi Xtreme Music card with the Creative P7800 7. speakers. How can I set it so 2 channel audio files are projected out of all speakers, instead of just the left, center, and right speakers?On my other computer (Audigy 2 ZS + TT7700 7. speakers) I have it setup so 2 channel audio is projected out of every single speaker. I cannot, however, find that setting for the X-Fi card. All help appreciated - Thanks in advance!

Stereo Xpand is using a special matrix that upmixes sound with some surround properties (rear channels are not that loud, center is additionally processed etc), while Stereo Surround just copies stereo source across all channels. So if you want unmodified sound on all your speakers satelittes, just use CMSS-3D Stereo Surround and set it to 50%.
Adjusting Stereo Envelopment will just change balance between front and rear speakers (loudness). Hope it hel

Now my question:
I'd like to buy the X-Fi Xtreme Music but I'm worried about whether the soundcard will work on my computer or not. I've heard that there exist several problems with nForce4-Chipsets and other ones.
Can you tell me if the card is going to work on my computer?

Hard to say honestly but think your safe. Personally it seems a large pecentage of ppl with the SCP issues posted here also have Pci-e systems and or Raid controllers. I have an "old" system with AGP and not had a prob with the issue myself. Best bet if possible is to buy it local, that way if doesnt work right you can take it back immediatly.

I search and see that there are some users with the same problem but i dont see a solid answer. The things that i do to try the fix the problem was clean and unninstall the drivers and soft with tools like driver sweeper etc and install the last driver but the result is the same. The only thing i found like a temporal solution when the problem happend its do the the assignement in the panel thx. I want to ask you if there is a solution, a permanent one...plz! becausa i am going to the thx panel like 30 times per day!!! i am going crazy! For more details i copy and edit a message from a user that have the same problem that i , read it plz : Ever since installing the latest drivers, 2.5. or whatever they are, I have sound and 5. support now using an X-Fi Xtreme music with Vista 64 bit (2GB), The card just randomly swaps channels on me. What I mean is, if I start from a fresh boot, I'll get all 5 speakers working in a 5. movie or video game or mp3. Shortly after though, it will swap all the sound to only the back channels and then only teh front channels, and sometimes only the center channel. Most of times it does in pairs , meaning that it wont be like front left and back right, always both back speakers and then both front speakers. Either way, it totally breaks the surround sound and it's rather annoying to hear the sound travel from front to back etc. Is there some way to fix this or anyone know the cause of this I'm about done with Creative and their crappy support for Vista. I might have to go back to on board 5. support if this keeps up. Well if you need something else! please let me know! and if you give me a hand i will be very happy ^^ . SB Xtreme Music and Counter-strike Source He

Hello,
I have a sound blaster xtreme music and I play the game counter-strike source. I have having a problem with the surround sound. I can hear everything around me except behind me when I play. Ive tried everything to get it but I just cant figure? it out. Can some help me!

I do not have other games, only CSS - well the valve games i bought.
When I am in Ventrilo, the others hear me with the audio creation, I can change the effects and they hear it. Although, in counter strike, it makes no change to my audio- my audio just sounds normal, so I thought the diagnostic from SB would show me something. The above error might be the reason, but I do not know what that actually means.

Xfi-Xtreme Music Problems after updating dri

I recently updated my xtreme music sound card drivers from this website and since my music quality has not been the same. With my headphones off music seems sound poor and while watching movies the sound fades out to the point i cant even hear it. The only way i can fix this is by moving the graphic equalizer to the left or right and then i can hear it again. I also dont seem to get any sound out of my centre speaker but i do with the other 4 around my room. Ive tried reinstalling the new drivers and even the old ones and nothing works. Ive alo tried doing the clean boot and driver uninstallation but i get stuck at the point where i hide all microsoft services and click disable all. For some reason i cant click disable all when microsoft services is clicked. Ive run out of idea's. Any help would bhe appreciated.
Im running windows xp and have never had any problems with sound untill now.

You need a cable that meets the HD audio spec. AC97 is not correct for that card. I've heard of some damage actually being done to some cards by using AC97 on a HD audio header connection. I've also never heard of a case front panel assembly not having the cable as part of it.

I have a lot of problems with Vista driver. There is only one driver and it doesn't work correctly. Sometimes I have very bad noise, the sound skips, and it often has disturbance. Well to give Creative their due even if they took their time there are new drivers out for the X-Fi Xtreme Music and Vista and they work just fine. Hello there, I`m a Romanian fan of these cards, I`ve already had SB Li've! 5., Audigy ES, Audigy 2 ZS and now X-FI Xtreme Music.
. I`m facing some problems that I think are driver-related... First of all, when testing the mic-in, I get a big delay, like half a second and the sound is somewhat weird, it`s quite unlike the feed. How can I solve this problem?
2. There is a setting, much like with 5. amplituners and amplifiers, which allows to select between small and large satellites (maybe medium too). This has an effect on the bass. Now, I know that this feature usually loads some bass onto the front satellites too, but in my case that happens, but the same amount of bass disappears from the subwoofer. I mean it would be nice to have bass on the subwoofer and on the satellites too, because these ones are a little bit larger, monitor style, with bass-reflex port and they`re two-way.
2. The CMSS 3D does not seem to work. I`ve only felt it`s difference when switching on once, and I have to say, I tried many times. It just wont` feed anything to the rear channels, and the sound timbre won`t change at all. Stereo focus does not change anything. I know what it should sound like. I can feed 6 channels from Foobar2000 but not with cmss. Games also work in full 5..
3. The card is capable of 92 khz although this frequency is not whown in the Audio Creaton freq change tab. It is not at all crucial, but I`m curious which program can take advantage of this frequency.
4. Audigy ES played very nicely over Creative ASIO, X-Fi produces an error message like "too many channels"... I`d like to play through ASIO, so if you have any suggestions... maybe an installation of asio4all?

X-FI Xtreme Music: "Emulated" or W

I just recently bought Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music and I think I have a problem with it.
Here is my problem:
In some games (FEAR, Call of Duty) I cant choose EAX support in the sound options.
On Dxdiag under the Sound tab it says the SB X-Fi Audio is Emulated. I heard it should say WDM.
Hardware Sound Acceleration level is set on Full Acceleration.
I tried re-installing drivers, i tried cleansweep, i tried moving the card to another PCI slot. Nothing helps to change it to WDM. One thing I did not try yet is re-istalling Windows, but I dont really want to do that.
Rightmark 3DSound Test shows me this:

Also, before X-Fi I had Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit and it was emulated it, but I thought it should be like that.
Should I be worried about this "Emulate" thing or is it supposed to be like this?

I posted both directsound and openAL. In openAL it shows that i have EAX support up to 3.0 in the entertainment mode and up to 5.0 in the game mode.

Hello, I've spent a while?sifting through these forums and?can't find any solution to this problem. Many people have been asking this same question and?aren't getting any solutions. When I say the microphone is?too low, I mean it's at the lowest possible volume it could?run at,?so it's unusable and?might as well not be functioning at all. Keep in mind every volume setting on the computer has been set to max.
Is their anyone?that?owns a X-fi xtreme music sound card?using a?microphone that does work?If so, what microphone are you using?I'm only?suggesting that theirs some odd settings with this card that only allow a certain kind of microphone to work with it. I'm using an old mic that works perfectly with my sb li've and that I've had for 3 years now. I'll echo the same basic details I've already checked over. I have Just built a new machine and included a X-Fi Extreme audio for the 8 channel sound capabilities for movie viewing etc, but .. I also run Teamspeak servers for several games ( WoW , UT , CS etc) and find myself unable to communicate using said card. problem is mic boost is available in playback mode but not in record mode. If you activate mic boost in playback it does actually increase volume in output mode also (don't ask me why) ...but not by much . Not enough for peeps on the other end to hear you while gaming. So... if you can boost mic on playback , why not on record ? which is where it is suposed to be in the first place. there are a LOT of frustrated gamers out there that have paid good money for the surround experience but are unable to do what previous cards have done well .... and that is allow communication between players . please don't ignore this as this is not an operating system problem.... i have installed this card on Vista and XP (both X64 and 32)? and still no mic boost from the software available. you know the problem .. at least acknowledge it and give an update. thank you?Fly

I read a post about Adjusting the ram to under 4G to 3999, I ?mainly wanted to see of there were any 'user' Drivers, or if someone can send me a?link that fixes the issue. ?
I am using the Sigmatel Audio driver perfectly at the moment, Problem is I NEED a Midi in/out for recording for various VST plug-ins on my recording software, from the XFi card. Sorry if this is like beating a dead horse, but it is truely frustrating.

This response is not accurate and pretty poor troubleshooting if you ask me! Just because it fails in another Windows 7 machine doesn't point to the HDD. So I tested on 3 x Windows 7 machines and all fail to see my external HDD partition's
saying they are RAW yet Windows XP works fine and sees all my files?? Smells to me like a Windows 7 issue?
